I took a 6 month old computer to Dan. Came back 2 weeks later he said it was the mother board, without looking at it. Came back 2 weeks later, still nothing done. Came back 2 weeks later, he was gone. Moved to his house. Told me during the move, the screen got cracked, so forget about that computer. I dont know why but I have him $250 for a rrefurbished one. Dont work right. Came to my home and did a few things, it worked for awhile. So I took it back to him and told him I wanted my money back. He said thats not going to happen. So I left it there for him to fix. Then he said Your not getting it back. So I took him to court and with the computer that I first brought in I paid $575 plus the one I didnt get back $250 and the $90 Court fee. The judge gavee $190. Do you think I got that from Dan? NO. So add it up. Thats my experience with Bizdex.

I have used Bisdex for at least four years. I have purchased new and refurbished computers from Dan. I have found that he is a good listener and will help resolve whatever my computer issues are at that moment. He has also been sympathetic when I have royally messed my computer (Im am lower than low-tech when it comes to computer know-how.) He also has impartially helped me to make cost/benefit decisions concerning hardware.I have no hesitations recommending him to family, friends and strangers.

Dan and his people helped me with our two computers at Crimson Carpet & Flooring, Inc. They both did a great job of listening to what we wanted and then applying what we needed. They even came to my store after I hooked both units back up to make sure everything was working right. Thank you Dan for the excellent service.

I was having serious problems with my laptop. I took it to several computer shops and none of them could determine the issue I was having. The last place I took it was Bisdex. Dan looked at it, diagnosed the problem and gave me a free estimate while I was there. In a few days my laptop was fixed and running better than ever. When I picked up my laptop Dan took the time to go over my anti-virus programs and other software installed. Everyone there was very friendly, helpful and professional. They answered all of my questions. Thanks Bisdex for a great job. I would suggest Bisdex to anyone.

This was the first time I had used Dan Williams with Bisdex. I was really impressed with his knowledge, professionalism, and speed. My computer was causing my data to run up really fast. Compared to the past several years, I was blowing through data within the first week of the cycle. Dan cleaned out my computer, got rid of a virus, and set it up with new everything. Its like I have a new computer, and my data is back to normal - yay Dan.

Took my flat screen computer to Bisdex because it would not turn on. I was helped immediately and the problem was quickly identified. They replaced my power supply and checked my computer for proper operations. They also fixed my usb ports that were not working in a very short time. A great job. And the cost was a lot less that I expected. I will go back If I have another problem with a computer. That is for sure.

I came back from a trip and found my computer power supply had shorted out. This caused the motherboard to also fry.I decided to take my desktop to Dan for him to inspect. Dans conclusion really pissed me off. Dan wanted me to scrap the entire thing TO HIM (for free) and back up my files on one of his external hard-drives. Then he wanted me to buy one of his Franken-computers he had in the back. The funny thing is, Im well aware of the parts in my computer and some are relatively new parts. I decided to get my documents backed up on MY external hard-drive and bid him adieu. He wouldnt take no for an answer and ended overcharged me for this process ($90 for a backup WOW). Also, it might be a clear indicator of what type of business this man runs when he charges someone full price for parts labeled good or bad from his shelf of scrapped parts. His external hard-drives are also overpriced and outdated in my opinion. I got mine at Wal-mart for less and at least it was made in this decade.I would advise anyone to not use this business at least for repair. Dan is well aware of what he is doing. It might be more expensive to get a Geek Squad membership but at least they will give you proper business and advice.

I took my laptop into Dan after spilling some water under it and causing enough damage for it not to work. He looked at it and took some of it apart and told me a memory card was messed up and he thought the motherboard was bad. He proceeded to give me an estimate of up to $300 and told me he would ship it off to a company in San Diego he works with and they could fix it and it should be ready in two weeks. He also told me my computer was under warranty which i was aware of but clearly spilling water on your computer is a breach of warranty so he told me if money was an issue to lie to dell and try to get them to fix it for free, i told him i did not want to do that so i gave it to him to fix. He made me put down a $100 deposit which he said consisted of $30 of shipping each way, which immediately confused me because my laptop weighs maybe 2 pounds, and $40 of labor on his part. Reluctantly i did.2 weeks laterI get a call from dell telling me to go pick up my laptop from the technician and ship it to them to fix it for free. So i go to Dan and he tells me he never sent my laptop off (so he has been sitting on it for 2 weeks and didnt tell me anything about a change of plans) and he looked at the back and saw it was under warranty (Duh, i know. but i breached the warranty). He then proceeded to tell me he tried to call dell and get them to fix it and talked to them about it and they told him it was a bad motherboard. They wouldnt let him ship it to them because he doesnt own the laptop. I tell him to just give me the laptop and ill ship it to them (because i dont want it back in the slow ass amount of time he does things in). He gives me the laptop and i ask about the $100 deposit. He says he has already spent wayyy to much time on it and says im lucky he didnt charge me more. !!!( He charged me $100 to look at my computer for 20 minutes and then talk to dell on the phone for 1 hour, which i did not pay him to do, nor did he ask me before he did)!!! so i get my laptop and leave hoping to never deal with this individual again.!!Read This!!I give my laptop to dell and get it fixed for less than he quoted me and they get it back to me in 10 days. I still had to go through the entire troubleshooting process with dell which took 1 hour 15 minutes on the phone which Dan said he did for me. At no point did they mention a motherboard. Actually at no point did they predict any problems. The problem was a hard drive and the memory. An educated guessI personally think Dan was trying to get my laptop fixed for free by Dell and then tell me he fixed it and charge me out the ass for fixing it, do i know this? no. Maybe he is just extremely incompetent at guessing problems.ConclusionTerrible experience, treated me like an idiot, slow, rip off, DO NOT USE

Considering the area that Tuscaloosa doesnt offer many computer fix me places I was impressed with Bisdex. They took their time to actually look at my lab top and said they would find whats wrong with it versus just buy a new one. The other place in town said its not worth fixing, just buy one. Well Dan kept it ran test installed new Hard drive and now its performing very well. Even installed things like Office and spyware material that wasnt available to me before. Took the time to show me how to run everything before I exited the store. Its a mom and pop that repair place, but it is friendly. Looks arent that friendly but we are talking about Tuscaloosa, after all we cant even repair homes in 3 years after a tornado.

I had a problem with my computer hinge. Basically it broke off of the backing. Well Ive been staying with my grandparents for the summer and I had no idea where to go. I got a recommendation to go to Bisdex. I took the computer in and right away he started pulling the front off of the computer. To me it seemed like he didnt really know what he was doing because once he pulled it off he said he needed to wait for a guy named taylor to come and do the work.I left the computer with him expected he knew what he was doing.Well about 4 hours later he calls me and says there is good news and bad news. He says we may have fixed your hinge but your screen is not working. So I ask him Ok well what can you do to fix it? He tells me that he cant. At that point im upset because I had a perfectly good computer(An HP Pavilion m6 with beats audio) aside from a broken hinge and he broke the screen. He tells me that hes not responsible for the broken screen and says that he can sell me a new computer. Well I told Dan that im upset because he broke the screen. Well he hung up on me. I called back and his rudeness just got worse. Well in the end he fixed the screen, the hinge is still broken and all in all the computer has some other cosmetic issues that it did not have before. NEVER USE BISDEX!

Dan was unprofessional and condescending. I got my laptop second hand at a great discount, because it was a model made with weak hinges, causing the previous owner to have the screen replaced after an accident. After I dropped it a short distance on its hinge, the display ceased to work, even though the rest of the laptops functionality was normal. I figured that it was a pretty open-and-shut loose wire problem, and that it would help to tell Dan these things when I arrived. However, when I brought the laptop in, I accidentally grabbed the wrong, but near identical charger. After he learned I brought the wrong charger, he treated me like a complete idiot, and disputed most anything I had to say. The laptops power button was flashing the low battery pattern that I recognize, because Alienware laptops have highly customize-able lights. Dan insisted that he couldnt do anything until I brought the proper charger in, because the laptop could have been flashing an error code, possibly indicating a software issue. I was ready to fetch the proper charger, but wanted to leave the laptop with him while I did, explaining that I recognized the pattern and it was probably a hardware issue similar to the one it had before. However, he pressed upon me that it was likely a software issue, proving this by hooking it up to a monitor by VGA, and getting no response. My laptop has never allowed the shortcut keys on my laptop to reroute the display until I got past the login screen, which we obviously couldnt do without a display, so this was a pretty irritating response. He then repeated his point about the potential of an error code in the flashing power button light several times, using increasingly smaller words each time, and gave me a little diatribe on the importance of bringing a charger with you when you get a laptop repaired, a point that I had already raised, apologized for, and was so blindsightingly obvious as to be insulting. After the fifth iteration of the error code talk, we left.TLDR;The problem was a loose connection, and took another business less than half an hour to fix. In the same amount of time, Dan had unsuccessfully plugged in a VGA cable, explained to me the importance of chargers and batteries, misidentified the problem, and ignored anything I had to say about the origin of the problem and the way my laptop worked. At least he didnt try to charge me as I left.

I had a netbook, the very very laptop, I took it to this company after reading these great reviews.... I get to the store the man took very long to come from the back I stood alone and waited for about 5 mintues wondering was anyone there. Once he came up he seemed very nice, he looked at my laptop and gave me an estimate for my laptop. it was a bit pricey(broke college student budget), he then told me wait lets try to work something out, so I listen to his proposal he dropped the price down a good bit for me, told me he needed a deposit to go ahead and order my screen, I was hesitant but since there a much needed thesis on my laptop and I didn;t have time on myside, we both agreed on the lower price(I didnt realize till later on the agreement he had wrote down 3 prices for labor he talked over that bit of info), I didnt get my laptop for days later(he told me it wld be ready in 2). Once i get there he was talking to another customer for 20min while I waited. He went to get my laptop, and i see the invoice had a whole new price, his labor had went up . He could have explained how his price could go up , or gave me range that the price may be. I had to ask my father for the money just to get my laptop out. I couldnt believe I was leaving feeling ripped off ...Yes my laptop got fixed,bt I just felt the need to rate and comment from my experience.
