There was some decent deals, although the employees were lacking customer relations. Most of the staff were goofing off and ignoring the customers, I needed help and I counted four employees talking and playing on their phones. Overall store was clean and good deals, just poor employees.

Much better value on new grandsons bike with even a lower price than Walmart.

Its a nice roomy store . In the fishing department many terminal tackle items were out of stock. The selection of heavy gear was very limited. The hunting department needs more variety and stock. I was looking for CO² pellet and BB guns. I couldnt find what I wanted. The staff in the shoe department was very helpful. The selection of work shoes was ok but they dont have serious boots in small womens sizes (nobody seems to). The checkout process was quick despite it being very busy. All in all it was a good experience.

Store in Terrell Texas. Big parking lot. Clean store, clean bathrooms.

Enjoy shopping there for sports gear and camping. Pricing is so so, you have to look for deals. Overall selection is good

Everytime I go there seems to be a line at checkout. Might be just my luck, but I walked in and found my item and went to checkout in less than a couple minutes. However the checkout process was about 10 minutes. Nice store though.

The older guy in the firearm section whos son was a Navy Seal is extremely nice and knowledgeable, so were some of the younger guys. Deal with them and you will get good service. The manager only allows them to sell 2 boxes of ammo, regardless of quantity per customer per visit. To me that makes no sense, I get they want to keep as many customers happy, but it also frustrates customers when they know there is ammo in the back, but due to their schedule cant be there in the mornings when it is put out.

Much better than other stores around this are..clean and great stock in pretty much everything. Except ammo...no one has ammo 😭

Dont expect them to honor your military discount until mid October. Why would they change it from year round? Seems odd to offer a teachers discount of 10% but not offer one for the men and women who served their country.

I thoroughly enjoy going to this location over Mesquite. The only down side is that the store is smaller, so it has a smaller selection.

I was able to find a reasonable price pair of Nikess for my grandson at this location!

Be careful if you arrive a minute early before opening time (open at 11am on this particular Sunday). Employee opened the rolling gate and unlocked the front door 10 til and when going to front door all you hear is a scream of “we open at 11a” and not in a informative or nice/kind way. By the time they opened at 11:02am here was a line of 20+ waiting to get in.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR GUN ADVICE. I am a firearm enthusiast. I have taken classes and trained since i was 12. I was raised around firearms. I am licenced.I was coming to get my son his first gun...a bb gun. While looking at the bb gun, i overheard the employee selling firearms giving advice and saying that a .380 will jump out of his hand and generally going on and on about how horrible they are...none of the information based in reality.Please do not take their advice as truth. Go and speak to a person who is knowledgeable about firearms. Even gun store employees are better... But not by much.Search forums. Watch videos. Test fire firearms at a gun range. Get your own feel for what you want.

I was very excited when this academy was being built because I love shopping here. This store seems a lot smaller than a normal academy and sells more high end products. Im not a materialistic type person so I have no need for high end items that cost more than a non-name brand. For this reason I prefer to shop the Academy in mesquite.Aside from my personal preferences i wish this store was bigger, I think more items would be more appealing to the customers like myself. I have had good experiences here and all the staff seems to be very nice, helpful, and talkative. Its very nice to have a generalized conversation with a stranger about purchasing a product when they have bought that same product for themselves.The restrooms were clean when I used them with abundant toiletries.I give 4 stars because the size of the store. Roughly guessing its about half the size of Mesquite or Tyler.

Small yet nice location, fund some items that have not seen in other locations.

I purchased something online and was told it would be held for 7 days. I wasnt able to pick it up before but was going to on the last day. I got an email at midnight saying that my order was cancelled because they no longer had it in stock. They sold my product even though the email specifically said I had 1 more day to pick it up. Ive had ok experiences before thats why they get 2 stars instead of 1

A little busy and overall a good store I just wasnt a fan at the confusing store set up and the displays take up more of the store then the actual merchandise on hand.

Wait time in lines for returns or purchases is alittle long. But customer service is great! Will be back 😁👍

My husband bought fishing rods, line and jigs. The sales associate offered to put the line on at no charge. Thats great customer service satisfaction. My husband purchased me Sports clothing and matching sport shoes. At checkout, the young lady was very sweet. Excellent experience.

Store look and feel is a great but the service is sad. I went in looking for shoes for my son, asked if they had any shoes in the back for the size of the one I was looking for was told they had a few shoes in the back and she walked off, apparently I needed to go to the back to find my own shoe. When its 9am and your the only customer in the store you would think the service would be much better, guess not. Good Luck

Went in to buy 2 firearms, mine and my wife’s. She was with me. 1st it took 10-15 mins before I was acknowledged. The man who I assume is the manager did help me after a younger guy told him I was looking to buy a gun. The manager actually called him out and told the younger guy WTH are you doing! Yes in front of me my wife and another customer. The younger guy responded with I’m putting up some guns. Long story short, my wife’s DL did not match our current address. So they asked for my insurance card, to see if she was on it at our current address. I have progressive and I use the app with the digital card. They wouldn’t except that. They wanted it printed. I asked if we could email to them. They said no. Ok next option was to have her get online and change address. We did that. But again they wanted it printed out. LoL we don’t carry a printer on us!!! They have offices there ,computers everywhere, you mean to tell me y’all can’t help out with an email from a customer!!! Or is this plain laziness!?!? Y’all totally missed out on a good sale.
