Had an 8:30 drop off appointment to get a hitch put on my truck I prepaid for the job to be done online. When I showed up the attitude from the guy behind the counter was less than inviting. Very unhelpful in answering any questions.. At noon they still have not looked at the truck to tell me whether or not they were going to have to cut the back bumper on a $40,000 truck to where the hitch that theyve ordered would work. But it only depended on which one they ordered. I refuse to sign the paperwork that will give them unsupervised permission to go cutting on my truck. Pretty sure going to cancel and reschedule somewhere else not very good business practice.

Customer service was not helpful. Make sure you read your contract that isnt physically given to you, but emailed, while youre moving. Also, make sure you drop the rental truck off before they close (even if you pick it up at noon) or else you will get charged additional fees that they wont verbally tell you about, but expect you to know because its in the contract twice.

I had an amazing experience! It was super quick and efficient and this location was so organized. Jean was absolutely amazing and so personable, friendly, and helpful! He was hands down the best person to work with and I will absolutely come back here for all my Uhaul needs.

Thank you Jean for being an outstanding person! I have rented many items from U-Haul Moving & Storage at Westchase over the years ... my go to for Rental Truck & Trailers & Propane! I have enjoyed getting to know the GM over the years. Last week, I had the opportunity to work with Jean for some propane. Longstory short, we had another guest cut in front and Jean didnt realize until after ... once he realized, he was very apologetic of the situation and went the extra mile to help out. I was extremely impressed at how Jean handled the situation. Thank you Jean for being an outstanding person and team member at U-Haul Moving & Storage at Westchase!

We have been using this location for almost 2 years now.The manager came off a bit cantankerous at first, but in the end he pulled through and has been good to work with.

I have had a wonderful experience with the general manager Travis , he built a relationship with me by telling me stories . I bought a lot of things he helped me to my vehicle. So patient with me no matter how many times i bugged him. Amazing. Thank you for presenting customer service to the max!

Avoid this location staff is great but Manager Travis is too busy to resolve complaint. I have used this location many times but this time is too much. While on hold I drove to uhual since Im a minute away and people standing around. Travis has attitude since busted, now I will go to Corporate and see if they can resolve my issue. When you read other reviews clearly Travis is not a good fit for his position and Uhuals brand is now being tarnish at this location by his actions and customer interactions. Its a shame its a great service and facility and some staff like Jean is very helpful. Uhual if your reading this please help this location because Travis is either overwhelmed or very unhappy with his position.

I went in to get a hitch, a storage unit and a trailer and the guy with his arm in a sling was so impatient he could not wait literally I mean literally 2 seconds for a response and then had an attitude problem and tried to claim I had the attitude so I left. Wont be back and you should waste your time.

Great facility! The general manager Travis goes above and beyond to deliver amazing customer service. The entire staff are friendly and professional.Also when renting a vehicle, avoid toll roads!!! The main office will charge $1 (administrative fee) per toll plus the cost of the toll. Almost $2/toll. Just FYI...

This is a great U-Haul center. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I needed to change the storage size I needed after moving from another state and this place was more then helpful. They even let me keep stuff in one of the smaller storages after I realized I would need a larger one. And let me come back the next day to get it all sorted out. They even took my 1 way truck, car dolly, and appliance dolly and there location so I didnt have to go all the way across town to take it to the U-Haul it was supposed to go to. Great people, clean storage units. I would and will recommend this location.

This place is terrible. From the manager Travis to the entire staff. Walk through the door and they ignore you. The attitude is worse ever. I canceled the reservation. Don’t rent anything in here!!!

Your experience here will be like being on a prank show. The customer service is comically bad. They will have one really tired lazy employee running this whole business and he averages one customer every 3 hours. I’ve been here for 45 minutes and have not actually seen one employee yet. Stay as far away from this place as you can.

Great customer service on phone and in person when we arrived the next day to pick up the truck. We spoke to Travis on the phone and he was very professional and accommodating. Would recommend this location highly.

I reserved a 15 truck. I got a 10 truck. Was told there were no 15left because they were all reserved... kinda like the way mine was supposed to. Now I know why they only give you less than 24 hrs confirmation of your rental. So you have no time to make other arrangements when they f#@k you.

Update 1/25/18 - These idiots have put a lock and lien and whatever else on an empty storage unit! 😂We emptied our last unit a couple weeks before the Jan payment came due, they SAW US DO IT, and my husband called them the next day to make sure they knew, and yet they have sent me a dozen emails about how much I owe! Absolute total idiots!!!! Not to mention, their regional manager must be no different than them because I filed a complaint with customer service, and was told someone would call me. Never got a call! Please avoid this place like the plague!Im changing my review. Yes the units are large and clean, and the facility seems well taken care of, but this place has screwed us over the whole time weve been dealing with them. I honestly would advise you to USE ANOTHER LOCATION. The kids they have running this place are rude, which is fine, I dont care, but I do care that they are completely incompetent in terms of doing their job correctly. Take my word for it and pick another Uhaul location. You will regret using this one.

Staff is nice but the manager Travis is not, my experience was the worst ever, huge attitude, he doesnt know how to treat a customer, dont go to this location.

I ordered a trailer that Uhaul had ready, but as they hooked it up, they noticed my hitch was not wired. This would mean I couldn’t rent the trailer and travel out of state as expected. I would need to get the wiring done, but didn’t think they would be able to wire it same day. But THEN...Brian and Jean came through for me and got it done within an hour. Thanks for the service above expectations!

We have rented trucks here several times. Each time the process was relatively easy and the staff friendly. Plus, theres a gas station next door so you do not have to worry about where to fill up if you are returning it to the same location.

While moving I experienced an unexpected dilemma and they were so great about everything. Really made sure that the job was top priority.The staff - Matt, Carolina and Neil are great! I had few questions and they were extremely professional, polite, and personable. You could tell they value their jobs as well as the company.

When we first arrived Travis explained everything to us perfectly. He said it would take about an hour to install our hitch and bike rack, $500 service. Not only is there no place to sit while waiting NO ONE COMMUNICATED that there would be any delay. So here we are 2 hours later. A blonde lady let us sit in the office chairs and said Travis would come in to update us. Travis comes in and says nothing to us and continues talking to other co workers about leisure activities. I only find this a problem because I had to go up to him personally and ask for an update. He then tells me 15 more minutes. No communication. Poor customer service. No seething for customers who have to wait. I wouldnt recommend this location.

Ive worked at a storage/truck place before and hated it, so I can understand why the employees here might be a little on edge. It is a storage place afterall, but when a customer comes in and has a few questions about the mobile app truck pickup, which pretty much relieves you of part of your job and you still are rude for simply having to speak?Youre just lazy and bad at customer service. At least the young one tried to be helpful. It was my first time using the app and the last time using that location and the app.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Helped me load all my boxes into my car, even though it was a very tight fit. I placed my order online and it was ready when I came to the store. Boxes were reasonably priced and really great quality. Highly recommend.

Paid my storage unit last week and completely moved out today due to me finding a new place. Was unable to get a refund for the amount of days the storage unit won’t be used. The balance on my account is now pocket money for the owners as my unit is now ready to rent for someone else. Can’t imagine how much money they make off of people that don’t keep there unit until the end of the month. Uhaul storage where you store your valuables and they steal your money. Stay away. Try another company.

Not renting from this location again. A man I spoke to talked to me as im not cell phone savy not knowing how to use the app to return the equipment when it was the app giving an error. (So inconvenient). When I seen my account and how much I was charged, I called again and spoke to a lady and as Im explaining to her im being charged an x amount and I wanted a breakdown She said “oh my god” and proceeded a bit aggravated. Nope, never again..!!!! Ever!

The absolute WORST customer service and policies at this location!! I was basically given keys and I took it upon myself to check in my own truck ( ie. verify mileage, gas, damages, etc). To top it off, when I returned the truck, I was charged an extra day. I had the truck for only 6 hrs. RENTER BEWARE! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE on Hillsborough next to Target, unless you want to pay more than you are suppose to.

Used their storage facilities for a couple years and have rented trucks from them a number of times. Staff is friendly, trucks are always clean. I am happy to recommend their business.

Geez! The guy running this place was a complete goober. I think his name was Travis. What a little bich azz. I accidentally went to wrong U-Haul store and he would NOT tell me how long it would take to transfer. Being the bigger man, I simply went down the road to the right U-Haul and was treated like a customer should be treated. Great job by the sunoco U-Haul on racetrack in Oldsmar. Travis could learn a thing from him. Travis is such a goober.

Sent to this location because other Uhaul couldnt handle my drop off. Manager of store said told me different area and couldnt and wouldnt except dropoff. Then told me I was setup with 3 different locations and it was what I signed on the computer. I informed him I did not sign it digitally but by hand and I requested his location, how is that my fault that the Uhaul store I rented from messed it up. Then Mgr of store rudely suggested that I should know the area I was moving to. I informed I hadnt been to the area in 13 years since moving away to another state and obviously had changed. But, if I had never been here before, how would I know the area. Asked how to complain or change the 3 locations to one in Palm Harbor, he then said call 1800UHAUL. I asked he doesnt have access or could help assist with that. He said know. Contacted UHaul and other location in Palm Harbor and they were able to assist and help without being rude. Would not suggest this location based off customer service.

Ive used U-haul of Westchase for a few moving truck rentals before with no major problems, but this review is regarding a storage rental unit at this location. My wife and I needed a large storage unit for most of our household items, as we were moving into a new home and there was about a 2 month lag time between the move, so we had to store our items until our new place was available. We ordered the 10X15X9 unit for $159/month. We purchased the optional insurance U-haul offers to cover any damage (or so we thought) to our items while in storage. It was indicated at purchase that each unit has rat boxes and is constantly pest control treated for any insect and ants to ensure the contents are protected. After two months, we returned to rent a truck from U-haul and transport our items. Upon inspection of our storage unit, the entire unit was infested with ants! Ants had built nests in our mattresses, couches, dresser, electronics, and about 50% of our boxes....they were everywhere! The ants had ate through parts of cloth on our mattresses and some clothing. We could not even load the U-haul truck due to the amount of ants in the unit. Overall, we lost about $500-600 worth of belongings due to the ants ruining them and having to throw items out. Not to mention we had to spend about $75 to pest treat any items we could keep.We immediately notified the management and discussed our options. U-haul indicated that there was nothing they could do and refused to offer any type of refund for our monthly payments we were making. U-haul indicated they do not control the insurance and we would need to make a claim. U-haul even refused to offer a discount on the truck rental we needed at the time. The insurance claim was denied and indicated that the insurance we were paying for only includes natural disasters, as in hurricanes or fires. U-haul has done nothing to rectify the situation and left a very sour mark on any future business of mine. The only reason this review is receiving 2 stars is because the manager of the Westchase location Justin was very polite, tried to help, and it was not his fault that this happened.

Extremely disappointed. I had a hitch installed at this facility. I was told it would take 3 hours so I decided to wait nearby. After 4 hours they didnt even started working on it. Didnt tell me anything either. I waited 7 hours that day. Completely ruined my day. Two weeks later I realised that the power cable to the hitch was was zip tied to the bottom of the car came undone. It dragged on the road who knows how long and got torn up. So it useless now. So yeah. Thanks Uhaul for your crappy service and costing me $400.

Rude! Rude! Rude! There is almost no parking available for customers as their trucks and vans take up almost all of the available spots, that or it’s their employees cars. This has happened multiple times. When I asked where to park, I was informed to “just park along the highway” which is inconvenient to say the least. They also park 15 ft trucks in the middle of a drive up storage unit section. When my fiancé and I arrived from out of state, with a full 10 ft truck towing a trailer, it was next to impossible to unload because of their unused trucks blocking the way. This location also does not keep track of inventory and when I arrived to rent a furniture dolly, which, I was able to do online, I was told that they didn’t have any available. I only rented from this location because of its proximity to where I live, however if I’m in need of a truck again, I think I’ll drive to another location. So disappointing, especially in comparison to other uhaul locations I’ve been to. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Worst experience dealing with this u-haul location. I rented a truck this past weekend and it appears they now include an equipment dolly and furniture pads even if you say that you dont need them and then charge for their use like a hotel mini bar. Regardless, I have my own dolly and needed the space in the truck so I asked the rental agent to remove the equipment that I already stated I did not need. He removed the dolly but said he could not remove the pads. A few days after I returned the truck I saw a charge for over $100 and low and behold they charged me for not returning the dolly! Now, mistakes happen and if such a charge would immediately been corrected it would have been no harm, no foul. However, dealing with customer service for u haul and the manager of this store Travis Rusnell has been a nightmare. I had spent the last two days trying to get ahold of him to speak with him to no avail and finally when they agreed to refund my charge they told me it would take 3-5 business days and there is nothing that they could do. Totally unacceptable and will not ever be doing business here again.

Service was fast and pleasant. Conveniently located near Habitat for Humanity when we purchased large items there and needed to get them home.

Everyone who works here is a rude idiot. Upon walking in you are ALWAYS ignored. Horrible customer service. Walked up to the counter to rent a truck. Was ignored for 5 minutes while the idiot sat on his cell phone and then rudely told me he was busy clearly these people dont want your money so I wouldnt bother giving it to him. There is a uhaul down the street thats MUCH better.

The worst experience I have ever received from a service business! If I could give ZERO STARS, I would - and I usually avoid reviewing rather than write a negative review but really do not want anyone else to have the terrible experience which is normal for this business.After scheduling and confirming a service appointment THREE times, the business was totally surprised when we arrived. Several employees indicated there was no appointment. After explaining what was to be done, the employees walked off and nothing happened. Finally, the General Manager Travis Rusnell was consulted and he exploded saying there was no work order despite the appointment, his employees wouldnt be responsible for helping out and we could go somewhere else. He ended his tirade by snarling Merry Christmas in a snide, growl. What a piece of work and a terrible representative of and black mark for UHAUL who is normally a good provider. While we were waiting for resolution, we heard several other customers go through similar difficulties and walk away shaking their heads.Bottom Line: Go elsewhere even if you have to drive miles out of your way so you do not have to endure this terrible experience! If you do have to work with them, go in person when scheduling to have a paper confirmation of your appointment so you cannot be turned away upon arrival.If you would like more info on the business: after several hours of business confusion and lack of communication, we finally figured out how this disfunctional business operates: 1) They have a rental business with one set of books, friendly employees who talk but have no power or ability to communicate appointments or service notes. Avoid the Manager, Travis regardless. 2) They have a service department for trailer wiring, etc and a knowledgeable mechanic. However, he does not receive any support or help from the business or manager which makes it difficult for him to get started. Once he is able to work, he does a good job.Expect delays, frustrations and a rude manager. Also expect a roomy facility, nice if un-empowered employees on the rental side and a good and friendly mechanic on the service side. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get into to see the latter.

Overall a ok service but the price they quote you on the phone is 1/3 the actual price you have to agree to before they hand you the keys. Make sure you make them get the calculator out and quote you an estimate that includes everything.

Find yourself a u haul that knows what customer service is. This location ranks about as low as it gets on the customer service scale.

Terrible customer service. Had to wait over 20 minutes to get assisted because nobody was in the store.

We booked the truck online for pick up at 1 the next day. We arrived an hour early and they not only had a truck ready, but they upgraded us to a larger truck.

The staff could benefit from some customer service training. If your looking for a storage unit I would try another location.
