Highly recommend! Had my sisters bridal shower here and the server was very attentive to our party. Food is delicious as always. I had the paella Español and the rice was perfectly cooked and delicious. Have always heard great things about this place and I finally understand why. Ill definitely be back. Also a perfect location with all the shops nearby.

Restaurant is great. I had the palomilla steak which was really tasty and soft. Loved the flavor. The soup didn’t taste as good (someone who comes from Spain tasted it). The mushrooms were great! Service was good, waitress was nice. They give you warm bread and butter. Loved the indoor experience, decorations, everything looks amazing! Must try in St Augustine!

Fantastic atmosphere, great menu selections. Of course the bread and salad were top notch. We ordered their version of country fried steak, and I ordered the Filet, which I unfortunately had to send back for being over cooked. We finished with a slice of Key lime pie.Table side sangria and their limited craft beer selection, but this porter was very good.

A wonderful experience with Florida’s oldest restaurant established in 1905, The cuban/Spanish restaurant is most certainly the best restaurant in St. Augustine. Sangria was prepared at the table, and it is good. The food has a unique taste with there aged balsamic vinegar, so delicious. If you wan to try a sample I recommend the La Cubana Completè. I recommend to get reservations at least a day prior. All in all I highly suggest eating here.

This was the second visit for my husband and I. We havent been here since 2018 but back to Saint Augustine several times. The staff was great, the manager was very sweet after I got his attention for something, and the food was delicious. I tried the mahi mahi which was very delicious. It is definitely seasoned lightly as they have it listed. The rice has citrus-y flavor so just be prepared for a new taste on the taste buds. My husband couldnt remember what he had back in 2018. When I looked up an old review, I was able to pull up a picture of what he had and when we showed our awesome server, she knew exactly what it was. He loved it! We tried flan which is super nice and sweet to the taste. Our server was awesome and attentive. I believe her name was Carla.

Great food and atmosphere! The interior courtyard was just beautiful. As far as food goes, I recommend El Combo de Cuba, as it allows you to try many different Cuban dishes. Also, for dessert, you have to get the white chocolate bread pudding. Its super yummy, and its also a really big portion, so share it with the table. All in all, I had a great experience! Oh yeah, and you definitely want to make a reservation, even for lunch because its super popular and fills up fast!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with great service. We went on a holiday weekend. Thankfully we made reservations because they were fully booked that night. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we had was really good even the drinks (Margarita & Red Sangria) I like that the atmosphere allows for one to dress up or dress casually. It is not really a place that I would take my small kids to. If they were a bit older (10+) then I would. Regardless, it was perfect for me and my hubbys date night for his birthday. Overall, it was a great experience. We want to go back soon to try more dishes.

Beautiful restaurant. Elegant setting. Intense attention to detail. Great service. Did I already say beautiful restaurant? Just a short walk from Castillo de San Marcos and tucked into a bustling tourist quarter but definitely worth a stop. Really thought the Cubano sandwich would be a standard setting item after the restaurant haven been open for 105 years but it was mediocre at best, and was fairly priced. There may be better places to get a Cubano but you wont find a prettier place to eat it anywhere. Key Lime pie was as authentic a key lime pie as you will find anywhere. It exceeded my expectations after eating the Cubano.

Not my favorite, but I know the Columbia has a large fan following. It’s also a big hit with tourists visiting St. Augustine. The meal starts off with warm fresh bread delivered to the table. The 1905 salad is a nice salad, with table side service and makes a full meal in itself. The sangria, also made table side, was very sweet, so if sweet wines are your jam, you’ll love it. The house-made red wine was not my taste, but it wasn’t awful. The majority of the entree for me are muddled and bland. So I stick to the 1905 salad and the black beans.

The Columbia restaurant is a casual yet fine dining experience. The food is always enjoyable. I especially enjoy their soups and their salads. I did feel a little rushed at this establishment as the hostess was asking us how long we thought that we would be eating as there was someone else needing the table later on. Even as we had reservations, busy Father’s Day, there was a short wait (spent in the gift shop) At table we ordered drinks - the 1905 martini, paired with their fresh “legendary” 1905 salad which is made tableside, was a wonderful start. It was Father’s Day with a special being filet mignon dinner, which my husband ordered. It was cooked perfect and accompanied by a generous bowl of fresh sautéed vegetables. I had their Red Snapper a la Rusa. It was fresh & delicious. Breaded & grilled, topped with a boiled egg crumble on yellow rice. One of their classic dishes. Disappointed in the service. Ordered pick up, and told 15 minutes, it was more like 30 and the parking was ridiculous this at around 2pm. When food was delivered to our car, I asked were they sure that everything was there? As it would be 20 to where we were staying,. He assured me it was all there, paid cash with a tip! This was our Anniversary dinner and gift from our grown children. When we got back to our rental, ready to eat, the bread smelled so good! Everything was there except the grilled shrimp for my 1905 salad, which is all I ordered. Paid 18.00 dollars for lettuce, tomatoes, olives and a little cheese. Called back to the restaurant spoke the the guy who I ordered with and delivered the food and the minute I said my truck he knew what had happened. Nothing he could do, paid with cash, not sure he even said he was sorry, but asked did I want to speak to a manager, I replied yes. Waited about 8 minutes for someone to pick up (Bria), who said all the managers were in a meeting and it would be an hour before they call back, needless to say 7 hours later.... still waiting for a call.As I said at the beginning, just disappointed was looking forward to a special dinner with my man to celebrate our anniversary and it fell short due to service!! I will say the food we got was delicious, yes the lettuce and tomatoes with their dressing, but hate paying 18.00 and I’m sure the shrimp would of been amazing. Customer service does matter!!!**The original visit was on 9/4/21 and as of 9/21/21, I have yet to receive an email or phone call from this restaurant. Clearly they are lacking customer service. And I was asked to email them which I have done and still no response. 9/25/21 Very sad!10/14/2021. I’m still waiting to hear from customer service. I emailed my contact, but yet to hear from them.

Very disappointed. Visited on a busy Friday night only waited for about 30 minutes. The inside was beautiful and full of historic charm. We ordered drinks which were really good. The bread was delicious and the server was good. If only this positivity continued through the entrees. My husband ordered the Shrimp and Yellow rice and I ordered the Vegetarian Paella. When they set my husband’s plate down I immediately smelled the shrimp, like they had gone bad. It turned my stomach. I tried my dish and it had no flavor or spice. The rice was a bit over cooked as well. Just not even worth eating. My husband then confirmed that that shrimp tasted awful. We called our server over and explained. He returned a little while later and told us that they would take the entrees off our check and offered us something else or dessert. We declined both. Neither of us felt much like eating at that point. I know all restaurants have off nights, but for the location and price you’d expect excellence... not what we experienced.

While he was doing that two ladies came and asked me if I need it help, the first one as soon as I told her I was waiting for my table she reply to wait a minute. The second one VERY RUDE, the only blonde lady with a messy bun, asked me when I was telling her the same that I was waiting for my table she interrupted me and token JUsT HOLD ON. She was the one who came to asked me if I need it anything, then the guy came back to the host area and gave the menus to the rude host and she took us to the bar area, there the menus and left. :/ then what was the point of making a reservation calling and asking 3 times to please allocate us in the center of hey we’re gonna stuck us in the bar. But as I was waiting for my table I saw people coming in with no reservation getting placed in the area I requested. Then we made our order of drinks, the waitress put by mistake the our sangria in the table next to us when the person tried it and told her she just took it and put it in our table. We had to tell her to please bring us a fresh one as someone had already had a drink from it. The food is supposed to be Cuban/Spanish, but it really had no taste. Overpriced for bad service and bad food. If you wanted to go to see the art in the building it really doesn’t matter if you plan with them in advance you might get stuck in the by the worst table. With over 5 locations around Florida and it’s history as the oldest restaurant in all of Florida, Columbia doesn’t disappoint in service, flavor, and experience. With this location set in Florida’s oldest city, Columbia presents to you a beautiful location and a beautiful restaurant reminiscent of the ancient Haciendas that the Spanish set up around St Augustine during their colonization efforts. Adorned with candelabra, baroque paintings, as well as mosaic floors and walls, Columbia’s opulence reminds you of the upscale experience that Spanish food provides. Their starter Cuban-style bread is wonderful and very consistent in texture and freshness. The start appetizer is their 1905 salad with ham and cheese that is made for you table-side with only the freshest ingredients and with a taste quite like no other salad. As for their entrees, you cannot skip the most famous Spanish dish, paella. A dish so complex that it requires 30 minutes of preparation after being ordered and using the worlds finest spice, saffron, paella’s use of seafood and other meats into one dish to create an unexpectedly well balanced dish that will bewilder even the finest taste buds. It is wonderful in flavor, consistency and freshness of seafood. The service was wonderful per usual too with great attention to every detail. Columbia’s ability to maintain a consistent service and good quality in beautiful spaces for the 7 times I’ve gone to many of their different locations as well as the fact that it has been open for more than a hundred years goes to show that it is one of the best restaurants in all of the state of Florida and can’t be skipped if you are in one of the cities where they offer a location.

I would like to extend a special thank to all the staff, with no one wanting to return to work the staff is working twice as hard and still able provide excellent service. Vegan and Vegetarian options available! You can get Cuban Spanish Bean Soup, Black Beans Original 1905, black bean cakes, and stuffed mushrooms. Lovely veg items but of course more would be fantastic. They do normally carry a Veggie Paella but they didnt have it when I went. Great Sangria though!

Their food is great, 1905 salad lives up to its reputation. The black bean soup is one of my favorites. My only complaint is service may be a crapshoot depending on waiter you get. The last waiter tried to make us order a large salad and a half advising our table of 3 that it would not be suffice for all of us, not knowing that we vacation there every year and frequent the restaurant 2x during our stay for the past 15 years !

Not sure this mainstay of dining in St. Augustine is worth all the hype but the food is good as was the service. Large venue. Reservations a must. Parking in rear, sometimes enforced for just the restaurant. Dont worry too much about what you wear here, people come in all types of dress. Of all the recommendations we had from a local this was probably the least enjoyed. Would recommend Championes Rellenos.

This place has great atmosphere and awesome located in the heart of Saint Augustine. Great to serving staff. Clean bathrooms says a lot about restaurant cleanliness. Yellow rice could use less water when cooking. I like to bring family visiting, here for a great time
