I’ve known the Weintraubs since the late 80s and my love for sports collectibles, TCGs, and so much more was always trusted by the integrity of Skip and his family. You want good prices, it was Skip. You wanted non searched product, it was Skip. You wanted your store to care as much as you did, it was Skip. Friday night pack wars, locating product you needed, and keeping the hobby alive during its darkest times, you could always depend on Skip.

My sons and i have been buying cards from Skip and Jason since we first moved to Tampa in 2012. (My older son went to Plant High so their move across the street from the school cost me a fortune!) This is the BEST sports cards, hobby card store in the area! Always super patient and willing to speak with you at length about what you are there to look at or purchase. They’ve got the knowledge to back it up too!!! I’ve seen the owner spend as much time with kids there to spend a couple of dollars as he did with serious collectors spending hundreds and thousands. Jason and everyone else at the store are fantastic and you won’t regret stopping in to see what they have.

Im from San Diego and visiting the area due to my job. I stopped by the shop 9 months ago and thought the place a little disorganized, but I enjoyed my time looking through the singles looking for my collection desires. When it came time to pay for my choices I felt I got very fair price.Ive returned to the shop and visited the last two days and its better organized and the owners have made my visit more enjoyable than the last time I visited. They are good people and Ive listened to them interact with each other for two days and I cant wait to go back. Plus they have done a great job ensuring Ive received very fair price on the cards Ive pick out. While I was looking through the singles other customers came in to get boxes and they gave them what I consider very good deals as price goes.I highly recommend anyone looking for sports cards to come in and give this place a look and talk to the people in the shop. I felt it be a little strange at first, but the more time Ive spent in there, the more I like the place. The people have made it a great place for me to visit. I think its the best shop in Tampa, and Ive visited them all. I feel its one of the better shops Ive visit through out the country. You will get a fair deal here for sure!!!

Updating my review based on the troll below.Ive been going to The Clubhouse for more than five years, and Jason is - by far - the most honest and transparent collectibles dealer in Tampa and beyond. He is matched only by his dad (Skip), who ran Baseball Card Clubhouse before Jason took over duties.Jason literally shows customers what items are selling for online, and offers a near-mirror quote minus a reasonable percentage to allow the store to resell. On trades, he regularly goes at/beyond online values. For loose cards in his oodles of bins, again, well below anywhere else online or otherwise. Jasons constantly giving deals/freebies to kids. He never takes advantage of a would-be seller by lowballing a collection...in fact will politely decline many to avoid this fate.Related, all of his retail products are clearly marked. In-person customers get great deals on the stores eBay site listings.Perhaps that reviewer thought his treasure trove of junk wax era cards shouldve been worth a mint. Sorry, theyre not...as so many of us - including myself - learned the hard way. As are most common cards of today. In fact, Jason is always kind to educate customers in similar predicaments, and recommends modern ways of collecting to avoid a similar fate.Calling Jason a liar is so patently ridiculous. Its the least accurate way to describe him and this terrific and fun place to shop.

Jason and Skip run a fantastic operation. I know that everytime I go there I will see great cards at a great price. I have followed them thru 3 locations and will keep up my relationship in collecting what I need to enhance my personal collection. It is nice listening to Jason educating kids about the fun in collecting sports cards. Each time I go there I know I will see new and old but always something I am looking for.

Watch the game on TV, lament the latest demise of a favorite team, and scour cases for the card you never knew you wanted but now need to have.The Internet, of course, changed all of this, with every product readily available and at current market price. Baseball Card Clubhouse is no stranger to this, with a substantial amount of their business conducted on eBay.Still, Skip and the two Jasons never forget their roots, always greeting us with a warm handshake and smile. Its rare we spend less than an hour per visit, and - per above - its never about the cards, rather the people.Also and equally important: Skip is the most honest broker in the industry. Hes always fair on price (based on what he paid for an item), and is a hawk at keeping bogus product out of the store. You will never get taken advantage buying from them.One of my favorite hangouts in Tampa.

Completely rude! I came in I guess I was not in the look range, both reps stared at me as if I was lost. I proceeded to explain my reasoning for being their they proceeded to show they didnt care. If you take the companys time to work there take the time to do your job!

The guy working here going by Skip literally has brain damage. And Im seriously contemplating suing him - not just on my behalf, but on the behalf of artists and people who appreciate art everywhere.I showed the piece you see pictured to this complete moron and the first thing he did was take the cover off the artwork (and lets be honest - this is no longer just a ball) and then proceeds to jab it with his stubby fingers and nails like hes having uncontrollable spasms - but this was intentional. What in the?If you tried to do that in an art museum - youre looking time behind bars -at a minimum. Honestly, Im at a loss of what to do. Because short of this guy getting blacklisted from ever working near collectibles again and run out of town - I cant think of another punishment that fits what this moron did.So, hopefully we can come together as a community - starting with me and my friends and the artist and his friends - George Sosnak whos art he tried to deface - and figure out what to do with scum like this guy.I have no problem - disrespect me - water off my back. But Skip - do not disrespect art and what goes into creating it. Shame.Oh, and he also said while defiling this beautiful piece of work and I quote, Its worth nothing. What makes you think its worth something? Oh, I dont know Skip - maybe you can tell just by looking at the thing? More shame.

Best card shop in Tampa

I went to this shop interested in picking up some Sealed product for myself and some singles that I was looking for. The shop had what I was looking for and I started talking to one of the staff running the front of the shop who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We started talking about the usual stuff you would talk about in a Sports card shop.When suddenly the other employee there who had been working on the computer this whole time got out a set of He-man Action figures. When I say set, I mean a whole set it was a large amount. He started Posing them while saying some strange things under his breath. Im pretty sure he said Beast man loves to cuddle with He-Man, and how Man-At-Arms was jealous of their strong bond. I thought it was odd but went on to talk with the other employee and just chopped it up to me possibly not hearing things properly. Then about 5 minutes later he busts out the Attak Trak and glued a little banner to the back of it that read No room for Three then put He-man and Beast man in the car with Man-At-Arms falling down trying to Chase after them. Then proceeded to have them back over Man-at-Arms while saying See emotions get you ran over.I had to figure out what was going on because I knew I wasnt hearing and seeing things wrong. I asked the employee I was talking to what was all that about and he responded Ehhh thats Jason hes like that, hes unique. Im assuming he meant Jason was special which is nice to see more local businesses hiring special needs individuals.I went over to talk to Jason and asked him about the He-man Action figures, turns out he loves He-man a lot and that the Action Figures were actually for sale. I have a nephew that loves He-man so I figured Id see how much they were selling the set for. We agreed to the price and he brought the figures to the counter. I went to double check the figures just to make sure everything was there. When I went to grab Adam, Jasons eyes got really wide and teary with his hands getting twitchy, he yelled NOT ADAM, ADAM BELONG TO JASON BEST FRIENDS. He fumbled the Adam action figure to his chest. Apparently he has a special Adam figure that got mixed up into the collection when they were moving the figures to the counter. There was already a Adam figure but this particular one was Jasons.I felt bad that I had brought this young man to tears almost by accidently kidnapping his Adam Figure. I asked Jason if he had any other cool stuff I could buy off him. Thats when his eyes got even wider and he started snickering to himself while saying Yes, no, no, no, no, no, YES! he screeched out pokemon?. I said Yes, my nephew loves pokemon, thats when he brought out a PSA 7 Foil Charizard. I wasnt really looking to buy something that was worth $1000+ for my nephew, but I sware to god. I dont know what happened or what switch flipped in his brain but he started talking and everything made sense talking about how Bitcoin was a fad and that the Foil Charizard would appreciate in value more in the long run.Suffice it to say, I walked out the new owner of a ton of He-man Action figures and a $1300+ Pokemon card. Thank you Jason for teaching me the ways of He-man friendship and the value of pokemon Cards.P.S: The only downside was there was this guy sleeping in the store and the original employee I talked to said Yea thats skip. Didnt get more than that about him, but apparently thats what he does.
