He gave me a rough idea on what he thinks the issue can be and a rough estimate over the phone.Brought the car in, he diagnosed in a very timely manner and gave me the final price which was the same number he said on the phone. If you stumble upon this establishment, it was your lucky day. Tim and his crew are fantastic at doing the job for a reasonable cost. I have used this shop for over 10+ yrs and have never had a bad experience. However, it you are expecting a quick service with a gleaming waiting room, I would suggest else where. If you are willing to be patient, Then there is no way you can beat the “Quality and Value” on the job that Tim provides compared to anywhere else in Tampa. I would suggest to drop of your vehicle as there is no where to wait unless you bring your own chair. However, I must warn you, it is not the safest place in Tampa so, be mindful of this fact if you decide to wait. I can assure you that you will never go to another shop once you get work done here and realize how much you have saved as most establishments, corporate or otherwise in this industry, will gladly rob you Legally as they hold the key if you are an unsuspected bystander without mechanical automotive knowledge.

If you want to find a good auto repair place at very reasonable prices definitely go to these guys. This place is located on the corner of Fowler ave and Nebraska Ave. I had these guys do exhaust an engine work and theyI did it in a very timely manner. I would definitely use them again!

I had a great experience here. Had a couple of engine codes for a Cat and O2 sensor and ended up going with a complete rework and new piping. Got it done on time and very reasonable cost. Would highly recommend.

Im all the way in cincinnati ohio when my girl give me a call and say car need repair a.s.a.p the dealership said. I do all my repairs my self but Im out of town for awhile so I sent her to him and he had it all done the next day, for way cheaper I mean way cheaper. I rate the job A++ will send her again if I dont have the time to get to it.

They were packed with cars at 8am, most of them luxury vehicles. They dont chit chat. He had to weld my exhaust and he showed me where. One hour and ten minutes later I was off. I would use them again. Pricing was fair and reasonable.

Tim was great. I was traveling from out of town shen my vehicle broke down. Another shop might have taken advantage of that. But, Tim was wonderful, treated me more than fairly and went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Quality Value Auto for their service, honesty and integrity.My only regret is that I live in another town and cannot use them as my regular mechanic. It is hard to find true honesty and professionalism such as I found at Quality Value.

Called a week in advanced to drop car off tuesday evening, and car would be ready be the end of next day. After arrive to drop car off, they stated, Oh, we can get to it tomorrow (wednesday). Come Thursday evening, i had not received a call, i call them on a status. I could not get through to them on the phone, it kept going to voice mail full, after 25 minutes of trying to contact them via phone, someone answer the phone. I ask for the status of car. They stated, we just pulled it in, weve been short on people. At this time its near closing and they are just now saying they are pulling it in to work, and it should be ready on next day ( Friday).. I told them, i need my vehicle on friday morning, so dont start, i will be there to pick it up...After i picked up the vehicle, for some reason, one of there technicians felt he needed to pull down the sun visor, and got oil stains all over the driver side ceiling of interior roof, and visor. The workers look very less professional and coherent. I dont think this company is trust worthy..

Please be mindful a place like this that has such great pricing and exceptional service they are going to be busy be patient its worth it. I have been using this place since I moved to Florida and every time I have had work done I have been pleased with the out come. I recently had an alternator replaced on my Pontiac Montna unfortunately with in a couple of months the part went bad they replaced it under warranty and had me back on road. I high recommend qaulity auto they have a life long customer.

My check engine light came on 2 years ago I took it to a different mechanic he said I need a new catalytic converter and with a Subaru I should take it to the dealer. Dealer estimate was over $1000. Since it was not actually affecting my driving and I was told that when it really gets clogged I will be able to tell I just let it go. This week it really started affecting my driving so under recommendation I brought it here and they fixed it within a couple hours for only $800. When I left I noticed that that my car was trying to stall. I took it back and it was a simple fix but not even related to the catalytic converter they fixed it right away and didnt even charge me.

Me and my family came to florida on vacation start having truck problem .They fix the problem in no time the same day we was back on the road.Great friendly service at a reasonable price.

The office staff was very kind and friendly, and was more than willing to honor a coupon even though it was for a different type of oil, which helped me a bunch! The other employees were also kind and helpful, but I didnt interact with them as much. It was a bummer that there wasnt anywhere to sit inside due to Covid, but that of course isnt their fault. One of the best mechanic shops in the area. The staff here is extremely helpful and informative. They will explain everything to you in details and will not charge you any hidden extra fees. I went in there to get an exhaust mod on my 2016 mustang ford, and Tim was super nice and assistive throughout the whole process. The service done was impeccable and they charged me a very fair price as well. This is my go to mechanic and should be yours to no matter what car you drive.

This is the type of mechanic your father warned you about!! Not only will they steal (or just simply tell you its whats wrong with our car) your catalytic converter (illegal but worth a pretty penny) and your battery ( they have a room full of stolen ones , I suggest you look under your hood before you leave) and then cuss you out and make you leave as if you did something wrong(!?) They will break something every time you go in and thats why they know exactly what to fix when you go back and are so quick to get your car out of there. This ensures that they will always have a customer base. Also, the owner is too rude for words

Zero stars, worst experience with an auto shop. I was told to bring my vehicle in the morning, which I did, with an emergency break failure. However, the supervisor made a mistake and asked me to come back after 3:00, I called first and was given a story, earlier he had no bays, now he was missing a man too, but bays were open. I was told to come back in the morning again. I tried to reason with him but he got violent. Seriously. And the whole while, he was taking calls, telling everyone, come in at 9:00 tomorrow, scam and brut

Tim is extremely genuine and helpful. Quality Value Automotive repair is the most honest automotive shop I have been to in the area. They are straight forward on diagnoses. I was looking for a quote on labor costs for an A/C Compressor, Condenser/Dryer, Expansion Valve, A/C Recharge and Freon. Quality Value not only did a great job on my car, but they were fast in getting the repairs done and gave me an extremely fair price compared to many other repair shops in the area. I will be bringing my vehicle back to this location whenever I need work done going forward.

This really is the best auto place you can go to! They do not try to sell you extra things and the price always beats every other place in town. They even looked at my car for no charge!

Quick, easy, and local cost service, literally paid no more than $15 for my oil change which took no more than 30 mins. I’m writing this review in hopes of some kind of response from Tim the owner. I have been trying to call him every day for two weeks and he won’t pick up the phone. They put a used engine in our dealerships work truck last year and it only lasted about 300 miles. We had it towed all the way back to his shop in Tampa from down south on alligator alley where it broke down coming from Miami. This happened on January 1st of this year and we have been waiting for Tim to warranty the engine he put in ever since. Every month or two Tim has given our office lady some kind of excuse as too why our truck has not been done since then. Tim has been giving our office lady here the run around for almost a year now. I recently took over this situation and called him 3 weeks ago. He picked up the phone immediately. He said they have been waiting for an approval for $250 for a new intake manifold for a couple months. I doubt that’s actually true and why he never followed up I will never understand. I called him back shortly after I spoke to him and he immediately picked up the phone so I approved the “intake”. He said it should be done in about a week. Well here it is over 3 weeks later and I’ve been trying to call him for 2 of them and just so happens no one answers the phone and there’s no voice mail to even leave a message. Are they even still in business? Maybe this review will make him call me. If not I guess I’ll have to waste a day and drive the 1hr and a half up there to speak to him face to face since he won’t answer the phone.

Finally, a kind and honest man.I began my first car-buying process on my own miles away down in Miami. I needed an inspection for my potentially-new car, and the owner, Tim, was the kindest, most professional help I couldve come across. The other dealership wanted to charge me $400 for an inspection and the salesman talked differently to me versus my boyfriend (2019 and still cant get the whole equality thing right). Tim was honest and fair and gave me a great deal. I dont even live in Tampa but Im grateful to know there are men not wanting to cheat women in the car industry. 1000 stars for Tim and his shop!

I’ve had a few repairs done at Quality Value Automotive and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Always more than fair on the price and the repairs have been good. Tim the owner is the most honest auto mechanic I’ve ever met. My car broke down and I googled for a nearby auto repair shop to get it towed to. I’m consider myself extremely lucky that I randomly chose this place! Tim called me to tell me that I simply ran out of gas, and all I owed was $5 for the gas he put in the car. He didn’t even bring up a diagnosis fee. Any other place would’ve charged a diagnosis fee at the minimum, and probably would’ve made up some problems to pump up the bill. I highly recommend this shop!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Brought our van in to have the spark plugs changed out. Engine had to be tipped in order to get to the back spark plugs. Realized after that that they didn’t mount my engine back in place which led to a chain reaction on vehicle problems. Moral to story is DONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE!!!

I had a radiator change two months ago for my vehicle form them. They handled it carefully and did a nice job. I waited these two months to put a review since I want to make sure it is long lasting and working properly. I drive 60 miles everyday with my old vehicle and I am very much satisfied with the job they did. The best thing about this job is I took quotes from 5-6 places around USF prior to them and they were the cheapest. As a student it meant a lot to get a good service for a fair price. I would definitely go to them next time too.

I will start by saying I am not one to give 5 stars lightly. I do give 5 stars for the quality of the work done. Tim fixed my car and the problem has not come back. However, my battery was dead when I went to pick the car up and the seemed pretty casual about it, no apology but they did offer to jump start it. It has been okay since then. I also felt they had my car for a long time (a few weeks). To be fair I said I was not in a rush, but I didnt mean I wanted to be with out a car for more than a week. Also not the fault of the shop, bug when I went to pick up my car it was covered in bird #### and also splattered with what looked like mud. Despite that the car was fixed and the price was super reasonable, if not cheap. the repair is what matters but I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the dead battery and the length of time it took to fix my thermostat.

Had my car at 3 other places and no one could find what was wrong and i have spent hundreds of dollars and my car still was not fixed. 2 hours after i dropped it off i got a call and they found the problem. Horrible place. Rude owner Tim. They destroyed my car that came just for an AC work. They dented my car, they took all the change from cup holder. Also some of them smoked in my car while working on AC. They didnt fix anything, they just couldnt find why my AC doesnt work. They denied that the dent was done by them. They held my car for a week just to diagnose it. Also they charged me a lot of money for a work they didnt do. The car still blows hot air! Do not go there! This place is an unprofessional chop shop! Owner Tim is the worst of them.

Tim, the shop owner is fantastic. The shop is amazing in terms of the quality of work they preform vs. the price of labor. You can not find a better shop within a 50mile radius. On the flip side, you may have to wait a bit for it as he is a one man show with about 4-5 mechanics. So patience is a must unless it’s something quick. I would suggest dropping the vehicle off and picking it up at a later time as there is very limited place to hang out unless of course you don’t mind sitting in McDs next door. I bring all of my cars(5) here for all types of service and you can bring your own parts if you prefer. That is amazing as not many will allow you to do so...Thank you Tim and the mechanics for being honest and working with people without taking advantage of the situations like many shop do when you are unfamiliar with cars.

I have been working on cars for over 20 years but due to the limitations of my home garage I have to bring them into the shop on occasion. I can say with absolute certainty that Tim is the most honest and competent shop manager Ive ever met. My husband had my van towed there when I broke down in Tampa. Its a 2005 so I just knew if it could be fixed it would be very expensive. When he told me it was only an old hose and would be 48 dollars I almost had a heart attack. We picked it up today and they told my husband not to worry about because they had it for awhile. 😁. I had a smooth ride home almost 2 hours away. I couldnt be happier with customer service and repair. Great job.

Tim is an upstanding guy and his shop reflects this. Being new to the Tampa area finding a mechanic seems like a daunting task, but fortunately I found this place! The rest of the staff is also great. Friendly and knowledgeable. Tim checked my car on a Friday evening before they were going to close and deemed it unsafe to drive. He made sure I had a plan to get home before closing up and did what he could to help, as I live 2 and a half hours away right now and commute to Tampa a couple days a week. That speaks to his customer service and quality of work. I waited to bring my car to him knowing hed get the job done at the best price he could. When I went to pick up my car and it wasnt quite ready, he had one of his guys drive me to work because it was my first day at a new position. He is so considerate and always ready to help! I had to take an uber back to pick up the car that evening and he reimbursed me for the fare. I wish I could take him with me as my mechanic wherever I move to in my life! So grateful and great work. IF you need a mechanic who is honest and does an awesome job - this is the place to go, hands down.

I took my son’s (water pump) and girlfriend’s (AC condenser) cars there to be repaired. They offered free diagnostics and did the work for a very reasonable price. It’s hard to find honest mechanics these days that do good work like this company. I will definitely be brining my car back to this place and sending business their way.

Tim and the shop are great, they’ve worked on all my cars from a newer Lexus to a volvo, Honda, chevy, ford and soon my Mitsubishi. They can work on just about anything and are always great to deal with. Highly recommend

Best mechanic hands down. Upfront, honest, timely. Tim gave me quotes over the phone, which no other shop was willing to do without me bringing my car to them. On the two occasions that I had work done, I was charged LESS than I was quoted based on the actual work done...which says a lot since the quotes were very reasonable to begin with. I may have been lucky, but I was always accommodated quickly and the job completed without delay. Quality-wise, its all in the name, seriously. Every time I have car trouble, I wish I still lived in Tampa so I could have some peace of mind.

Super place. Always full I would suggest to open a new location because they have so many costumers. It was almost impossible for my car to be seen of how many costumers they have. One of the best places to take your car to in the Bay Area if its broke its one of the few places you can actually get a free estimate. Their prices are reasonable their mechanics are great I wouldnt take my car anywhere else Ive been taking my car there for several years since they have opened. Their work comes with a one-year warranty and they honor it. The owner is very honest and trustworthy and very loyal to his customers. There arent many repair shops with this type of loyalty anymore. This is one of the few places I recommend to all my friends to go and get work done on their car or truck. They can do anything from a custom exhaust package to changing your motor.

I took my car there to get my A/C working again. It was under warranty so they put all new parts in (Thats what they told me) They had my car for a week. Told me some cars were broken into. But mine was not But my very expensive brand new cell car charger was stolen. How convenient. Now back to the A/C..... my A/C worked one day. I took it back they kept it over night came back said they fixed it but couldnt tell me what was wrong with it???? Really!!! This was 2yrs ago and it still doesnt work right. Cost me a lot of money for it to all be under warranty and still not working properly doesnt get very cold and makes a ticking noise like its a electrical problem. I took it back to them 3x and they told me nothing was wrong with it and they were very rude to me and very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Specially a female going in to have work done on her car. They will totally take advantage of you.

The guy that runs this place is awesome. He doesnt try to take advantage of you which is good since I dont know a lot about cars. He is super polite and gives USF discounts. My car hasnt had any problems since Ive started coming here.

I was given the name of this shop by a coworker and I’m so glad I went! I had new brakes put on yesterday and the service and pricing was excellent. Being a female that doesn’t know ANYTHING about cars, it can be intimidating going to any shop because you have to trust that what they say is wrong, really is an issue. Tim has an awesome personality and greeted me the second I walked in the door. He also made sure to update me frequently with the progress of the work being done. I would 100% return here in the future!

I took my van there to have spark plugs , new wires, coil put in. My van runs so bad now. Burning gas like crazy. Missing a lot. Much worse than when I brought it there. They also did body damage to it. He never told me about it. I was there for 4 hours and am so disappointed after I read all the good reviews. I can’t take the stress of this. I now have to go pay a Good mechanic to fix what they did to it.I have a picture of the body damage. Don’t know if I’ll be able to post it on here. Not a reliable place at all. Don’t recommend!!

Do not ever trust quality value automotive on Nebraska ave and Fowler. The owner Tim mis-quotes you and once they begin working on the vehicle will quote you a new price. They will damage your vehicle if you do not allow them to do the work! This place should be shut down and the owner should be arrested! I will be reporting this shop the better business Burrow! The owner is a huge scam artist! I was told by one of the mechanics that all the 5 star reviews on here are from owners friends and family members.

This is by far the best mechanic available in the Tampa area. Not only do they provide quality service for a fraction of the cost of other garages, but they are honest with how they do business.After visiting a generic chain in the surrounding area I was told that the issue was with my power steering and it had to be replaced. At QVAR not only did they replace the power steering they informed me that was not the cause of the problem, they then removed the new one and placed the old power steering back in. Then they fixed the actual problem and insisted on only charging for parts and labour of the actual problem. The work done here is phenomenal and the employees are not in it to make a quick buck. I have been going here for the past 3 years and I have had no complaints this whole time. I can full heartedly reccomend QVAR for any of your car maintenance needs.
