Messaged them on Facebook to see if I could get a cake made even though they are closed. Owner was friendly response in a timely manner and made the best German chocolate cake of my life. $30 for the cake was barely enough. This thing was huge and so moist and delicate. 110% need to get more cakes here in the future.

If we knew its a small but busy restaurant, we could go ealier before get really really hungry.the street parking wasnt that bad, but the 6th ave is unpredictable.

Tiny little diner with AMAZING breakfast. This is the epitome of Mom and pop because it’s literally just them running it. There are a handful of tables and usually a wait that is well worth it. There is a nice collection of children’s books to help with the wait if you bring your kids. That’s actually become part of the routine for my girls and I! There is also a large selection of hot sauces available. Ask for some recommendations and they will set you up! There is also a good collection of boutique salts that are fun to try. I have never had a bad meal here!

This place is awesome! Run by a wonderful couple! One cooks and the other serves! The food is fantastic l, with plenty of options to satisfy any breakfast craving. The have a plethora of hot sauces to choose from as well as some specialty salts! The atmosphere is also pretty cool.If there is a downside it is that you often have to wait a considerable amount of time for a table and then for your food. I never bothers us because we just chat while we wait.

The best traditional breakfast in Tacoma! The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. You might have to wait for a bit to get one of the few tables but this is prime time to chat with your breakfast companion or read a book. Great Breakfast - Small and tacky looking but a great breakfast. They have a case of different hot sauces to choose from, each table has a specialty salt. The hash browns are incredibly buttery, portions are generous and the sausages are the thick kind, they serve Bluebeard coffee. This is one of my regular breakfast places and I have never had a bad meal. Had lunch once it was also good.

I ate a breakfast meal there, pancakes, and breakfast sausage, and it was quite delicious! I was amazed at how HOT (in temperature), but equally YUMMY the maple syrup was- and the pancakes HELD UP under the heat of the syrup! Altogether, though the prices are a little higher than most larger diners, I would still recommend this place HANDS DOWN to try! AWESOME eats!! ^5 x 2! 😛 (Btw, I would suggest going there EARLY as there is limited seating- its a small, cozy place)

This was our 4th attempt at finding a place to eat. Everything else was a 45 minute wait or was closed. And honestly, we should’ve just stayed and waited an hour at another restaurant. This is a very small place with only 6 tables. It’s run by a husband/wife team. Usually those are the best places, but not this one. We weren’t greeted with a warm welcome, our kids were ignored (apparently kids don’t get hungry or thirsty), she unsolicitedly corrected my 2 year old, the wait for food was ridiculous, the food was way over priced, and I ordered one thing and got something else even though she said they could make it. The space isn’t clean, and the server wasn’t warm or welcoming. I’ve worked in customer service most of my adult life, so I know what to expect and I don’t hand out bad reviews very often but this one was deserved. 1/5 — do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.

One of the best places to eat in Tacoma. It is tough to get in - and you may have to wait 20 to 30 minutes during peak hours, so come prepared with a newspaper and relax on the bench outside - it is WORTH It. To the reviews that said it was slow and you wont be coming back - GOOD - dont come back, the rest of us know it is worth the wait. The food is incredible, and you cant rush good food. If you want garbage, go to iHop or Dennys. They source their food and coffee locally, and they have some of the most amazing specials. The scones are delectable, and the Scrambles - they are out of this world. The portion sizes are extremely generous, so come hungry! I sometimes have to order a 1/2 order as a meal there is enough to carry you through the entire day.Again - this little gem is probably the best kept secret in Tacoma - I actually dont want to share it as I love going there so much I want to keep it to myself, however, they deserve the business and everyone should get the opportunity to enjoy a breakfast or brunch there - it is like going to Paris, everyone should visit at least once in their lives - fortunately since I live in Tacoma, I can continue to and will always patronize this 5 Star establishment.

One of the worst cafes Ive ever been to. It started when we walked in and were rudely told to keep waiting because the waitress was not prepared to clean our table yet. There was no welcome! It will take just a minute please. We finally sit and we eventually order our drinks, coffe and a water for my wife and I, and then she vanishes and we dont get to order drinks for our 2 kids until she comes back and we tell her that they are also hungry and thirsty. Apparently kids are not real people here. She sets the coffees down and the creamer, and of course our curious 2 and 1/2 year old starts to make her way over to them to visually inspect what was just put on our table, and the waitress grabs her by the wrist and pulls her away from the cups. As we are ordering she yells at us to make sure that our daughter doesnt touch the coffee. STOP TRYING TO PARENT OUR CHILD. Never once during the entire experience did we feel welcome here. The restaurant is extremely filthy, dirt and grime everywhere. If you say thank you, dont expect a youre welcome. If youre looking for a dirty small hole in the wall where youll be treated like the family member that nobody likes and youll get served your food an hour after you order it, then this is the place for you. A breakfast sandwich with hashbrowns for my wife and a pancake for my one child and it was $28. Lovely little place...

We went here based on other google reviews and my husband wanted to try a new place. Granted there are more than 4 tables, maybe about 10 but more than half will only seat 2 people. luckily there was a table open for the 4 of us, but had we arrived 3 minutes later and we would have to have waited. The food is very good and the portions are large (the pancakes are about ten inches in diameter). Since the establishment is small in scale the menu offers a good variety but not everything and you will have a wait if more than one meal is being prepared for them to come out at the same time. But the food was hot and obvious that it was all just prepared (to the point where you have to blow on it to cool it down to eat, which is a nice change from larger establishments). Will probably eat here again.

That is $40+ lost for this establishment each time and we have watched many others experience the same thing. With that said, the 1 time we did eat was amazing! I had an apple sausage skillet dish that I have been craving ever since. This place has some amazing potential of being a very successful breakfast joint but it NEEDS more seating and more hospitable staff.
