I am constantly impressed with the guys here! The owner is such an amazingly nice guy, he will always take time to answer questions. I went in on Friday to buy steaks to celebrate the first weekend of warm weather, and was pleasantly surprised by even MORE freezers than the last time I was in! I asked the owner about sirloin steaks and different cuts and what we were looking for. He explained that they started cutting their sirloin steaks a different way. I was there to celebrate, so I grabbed the biggest one in the case - and we were NOT disappointed. So delicious, fresh, and perfect thickness.And as usual - best brats in town! The jalapeño cheddar are our favorite. I tried the fresh Polish this time as well and being a Polish girl from Chicago, I can be picky - they were so good! Forever a customer, these guys know whats up!

Been a regular for years and always had a pleasant experience but this last trip was quite disappointing. Unfriendly staff..increased prices and just nowhere near the quality Ive always recieved before.

This has always been my goto for top sirloin but today I stopped for my usual and the price has nearly doubled and rather then getting it cut into smaller steaks like usual when explaining my intent to use them for steak bites I I 1 huge chunk 5inches thick that honestly just looked terrible compared to anything Ive gotten previously. I usually ALWAYS get my steak here but even when telling the cashier I didnt expect just 1 huge chunk he just looks at me confused and says nothing so I walked out. I mean...is cutting a 40.00 chunk of meat a huge ask? Will never return

Just visited Midstate Meat Co for the first time this morning to purchase bones for my five dogs. Wow! They are amazing, friendly, helpful and will answer any question. Best deals on meat in Springfield you cannot find a more friendly staff. Or more qualified local butcher then at Midstate Meats. Check out his beef and steak packs ,buy a chuck roll while youre there its only a hundred bucks cut to order. Try some port wine cheese spread while youre there its absolutely delicious.Remember Mid-State meat, whenever youre in town theres no better around.and still is.The Italian sausage is really good I love the Italian sausage ropes but he always runs out so fast because theyre really good

Got caught up in traffic and needed a porterhouse for company the next day. These guys stayed open 15 minutes passed closed to make sure I got what I needed. Great customer service and great prices for quality cuts.

My name is Jordan Buchanan and I worked there for almost 10 years all together. Let me tell you that place is completely foul and possibly disease since it is ran by the most incompetent, careless, and dirty crew there ever was. Im ashamed of what I have been apart of at this company including the most obscenely dangerous handling of your food. Cook thoroughly and or throw out if something does not look right.

I love mid state meat. Paul is great! All the guys went above and beyond today for me as I stopped in to get a roast. I had some car trouble as I was leaving. Went in to ask for water to put in and they helped me with that. Genuine good people!

Mid-State Meat Locker has great customer service, quality meat and a local family running it. You cannot go wrong with any of those!! :) I especially like coming in for the holidays and best place to bring my deer for processing!! Very reasonable prices!

I HATE HAMBURGERS!!!However, the ground round was so fresh and red ALL THE WAY THROUGH, that I was able to taste it as steak tartare and ate TWO medium well burgers. That says slot for me since I havent had a hamburger patty in over TWO YEARS!!! If I hadnt been counting calories and other items, I could haveeasily eaten at least 3 burgers, maybe even more!!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!...And Im shocked cuz they have always been nice. To make a long story short I purchased a $200 meat pack a day ago. Included in that was two 5lbs bags a chicken and i bought a extra bag... so I have 3 bags of chicken... every single piece of my chicken has extra flabby meat hanging off of them... I called and they told me to come in... soon as I walked in PAUL came from the back and told me he wasnt doin anything for me and told me to leave, not even trying to fix the problem give me different chicken or at the least over to fix the way they had cut mines... went to my car then came back n to try to talk to him again he then told me i was crazy and took my bags of chicken and put them outside and told me to leave and he wasnt doin anything about it.
