Pavel was very helpful, friendly and professional. We purchased a solid mahogany front door set with trim, threshold and hinges. The process was smooth and fast and everything was in stock. Even after they cut the door to meet our doorway requirements we had it in less than a week. My husband stained the trim and door, installed everything and it turned out amazing!

My wife and I visited your store a few time looking for the kind of doors we wanted. Each time someone greeted us when we came in and helped us find what we were looking for. I ordered six interior doors and had them cased. Took a couple more days than they expected but I had a call and a text when they were ready. When I arrived three helpers came and loaded them into the truck for me. They look great and can’t wait to install them! Thanks for a good price and great service!

During a all time building cost high, the Ugly Duck has really come through for us. The cost was by far the cheapest anywhere for our doors without sacrificing quality in any way. Our doors are beautiful!!! My husband and builder both thoroughly enjoyed working with Bill Erin. His knowledge and professionalism were both outstanding. Thank you Bill and Ugly Duck. Nightmare! We bought doors and Bill helped us.. We had a deadline. Bill promised that the doors would be in by May when we ordered in April. In June we started calling and finally they came in.. We rented a uhaul to pick them up.. 18 doors. Immediately we contacted Bill and let him know 8 doors were wrong.. He tried to blame it on us.. We took pictures and gave him the original measurements. He still demanded we come in in person to dispute.. We did.. we proved that they made the mistakes.. He promised to make it right.. Now we are in August. We returned the doors and spoke to Quince. He said he would talk to the manager.. Today we called again.. Bill argued again. Blamed us and demanded we come back in again. We requested to speak to the manager. We got the accountant. She said she would talk to this now allusive manager....... And still..... no resolution. Our subcontractor has left our project because he could not wait anymore.. 8 of the 18 doors are wrong.. Several doors are warped. The crew at the store had us go in Several times to prove it was their mistake, not ours. Today....same old run around. We have had it.Update: Nancy the manager met with us and went through every door and all paperwork. She told us it would be taken care of. I do not have any reason to doubt her. This has cost us time from work and a lot of stress. We should have dealt with Nancy directly. She was calm and took care of it.

Ive never had to wait so long in my life for service. They seem to have little care for the line they create, and if you happen to be friends with Bill you can just cut in line. Waited over an hour for a prepaid door. We wont be back.

Worse customer service ever. Gave us all out of square doors. When tried to return they refused. Gave us one door with in correct swing when tried to return they charged 200 plus more to get the right door. Argued and Blamed us said we approved the order.This was the worse experience ever. Then after all that leaving messages to continue with our kitchen cabinet order... No way would I order anything else they didnt get one thing right with our first order.

Update: We were told the door hardware for our barn door would take week, after waiting two months and 3 follow up calls by us asking for updates, we were given a different story every time by Bill. When I went to go get my refund today I was told I would have to come back because the person that does refunds was no there. It is laughable how bad this company is at communication. I have spoken to many people and it is the same story from everyone, terrible service and not organized at all, multiple trips to pick up items because they don’t know which way is up. Save yourself all the trouble and go to Windsor.When I went to The Ugly Duck, the first thing I told them was I needed items that were in stock or at least at a local warehouse to be available within a couple of days. I completely understand that items are messed up because of the shortage of items in the world and that is why I said this upfront. Within a week we got a call that our entire order was ready, doors, trim, shiplap, and casings. I showed up with a friends trailer I needed to borrow because of the length of the boards, only to be told they only had the shiplap and the doors. Another 10 days goes by and get a call to say the trim and casings were ready, I took off work early again but this time needed to rent a trailer. Must to my dismay, when I got there, I was told only the casings had arrived, not the trim. Don’t believe anything they say about stock coming or being in a local warehouse, this stuff is clearly not here, and then to be called twice and have my time wasted was just an terrible experience.

Slow and inattentive. We waited half n hour to pick up something already purchased. Only reason they got a 2 is because the loaders were cool n helpful.

The door shop lacked skill. I gave them the exact door they needed to replace. The new door did not fit upon installation and they did not return my old door. I expected to have to make adjustments to the door. I would have appreciated more pride in the workmanship and service.

We purchased all of our interior and exterior doors along with all baseboard and casing trim for our new house. We could have spent a lot more money and received less quality if purchased locally however; we are very satisfied with our decisions. Pavel and the crews were terrific to work with and understood what we wanted to showcase our home. I will keep going back and will refer others to The Ugly Duck plus it is a nice drive from western Montana.

I bought a fiberglass door and paid a fee to have a doggie door installed. Door was damaged and they put the doggie door on backwards. The fix was complicated by caulking having held the pieces in place. I tried to address issue with the manager Nancy. I found her to be inconsiderate and rude. I ended up having to make the repairs myself. If you are interested in quality work and good customer service, you are better off looking elsewhere.

Their ad on TV is a lie. They have some of the most expensive doors weve ever seen and they look used. When I said I thought this was a liquidation sale...and you had reduced items the salesperson said absolutely not

Found the plywood based bargain cabinets i needed to avoid mdf/particle board ones from the big box stores. Helpful and in stock. Then added counter top to finish. Much more than house doors here.

Went there to find a new door and they had so many choices. They cut and pre hung the door we decided on and its beautiful. They have so many one of a kind doors, vanities and other items.

If you’re looking to buy a door that won’t function at all. THIS is THE place. Even after having this door professionally installed, it was crooked and didn’t shut. Long story short I needed a door to fit. After taking it back they refused saying there was nothing wrong with it. They said i could buy another door when I just spent well over $1000 on it. If you’re serious about your door buying you will go anywhere else.

We went looking for a front door. They had a great selection of doors, but more high pressure than Id have liked. Rather like a car dealer. No joke. We found some concerning product reviews and wanted to take time to think before shelling out $2500... thats when the pressure wheeling and dealing began. We walked out and were glad we did. We found out the door wed been looking at was wholly unsuited for our sun exposed front porch. The sales rep hadnt even asked about the sun exposure.

Unprofessional, Quentin our salesman, gave us an alright deal on 2 doors then several days after we pick them up he calls back asking for more money, claims it was a tax mistake. Ill gladly pay more somewhere else to avoid the hassle. It wasnt even much, like $15 or $20.

Go somewhere else! I’ve been here several times, purchased a door and regret it. The buying process is a very car salesman approach and they will tell you anything to get you to make the purchase. Have an issue with afterwards your purchase? That’s your problem now, don’t expect them to make it right, even if you deal with the “owner” Nancy. Go elsewhere.

We built our new home this year, and our builder suggested we contact the Ugly Duck for our doors, flooring, etc. We found fantastic prices on everything, and the selection was amazing. Much better than any other supplier in this area. Dont hesitate to call, ask for Pavel and see what he can do for you !

Overall customer service is pretty abysmal and quality of craftsmanship is lacking. Just as an example the salesman handed me the screws for hinges in his cigarette wrapper...high quality service right there. As I had some issues with the products, missing parts, wrong cuts, the boss lady as she was refer to, was less than thrilled to be of any help and made it seem like she was doing me favors by trying to make it right. The salesman arent able to really help anyone, the guy couldnt even give me screws they shorted me without first getting permission from her. The lack of respect shown to me through the whole process and no desire to make anything right, I would never do business with them again and I would warn anyone purchasing from them to be aware that if any problems arise, they wont stand behind their work.

The prices were great, older gentleman Bill was fantastic, very helpful and kind he took great care in helping us draw up a plan for our kitchen. Older woman at desk was rude at checkout and to her employees/coworkers, not sure what her status is whether a manager or secretary but her behavior in front of customers was ridiculous, only reason not giving 5 stars

Terrible Service - Specifically Nancy and Bill. I ended up canceling my order and paying 20% restocking fee just to avoid doing business with them.I ordered a 48 vanity with assembly but when I got home and my wife told me we needed a 42 vanity. The Ugly Duck was closed and the salesman had told me that they would start assembly the next day. So, I called at 8:30 AM and Bill answered the phone and said to call back at 9:00AM when they open. I called again at 9:03AM and explained to the person that I needed to cancel assembly on the 48 vanity. He said he would let the salesman working with me know, and he would call me back. I called again at 9:30AM because nobody had called me. Bill answered, took my name and phone number and said he would inform the salesman who originally helped me. I then call again at 2:00PM because nobody called me and I wanted to make sure the 48 vanity wasnt built. I was transferred to Nancy who told me that the salesman I was working with was out sick that day and they built the vanity that morning. I explained how I did everything possible to avoid having the 48 vanity built. She said I WAS TO BLAME for ordering it and that they would charge a 20% restocking fee. SHE WAS VERY, VERY RUDE! After she was demeaning, blaming, patronizing, sarcastic, and refused to accept any responsibility, I canceled my entire order and had to pay 20% restocking fee. I was planning to order several doors, hardware, etc. but I will be searching elsewhere.Bill should have dealt with the issue the first or second time I called, but because he doesnt get commission on my purchases he passed the buck and cost me over hundred dollars. Nancy should have accepted some responsibility for her employees and acknowledged that I would have not had to pay a restocking fee if her employees actually assisted me when I called.TERRIBLEAs the response from Owner below further demonstrates, this place will never take responsibility for the TERRIBLE service.

The doors that I bought were great. Sales person was amazing.. I dint like the owner, because the way she went about it with me after I just spend almost $5000. I needed some extra service done and she insisted me to pay upfront as if I was going to rip them off or not pay them (the amount was only $75... She made me feel like I was a crook or will some how take advantage of them... Almost all of the time, as far as I know, for the service you pay after the service has been completed. Any was, I went to Home Depot for the rest of my 27 doors... But she was cute tho.. :)

Unfortunately we aren’t entirely happy. We ordered a front door with side lights. It looked great on paper and the price was ok (more than we were originally quoted), but it may have been worth it to spend a little more elsewhere. It’s been a huge pain as the door wasn’t pre hung straight and the measurements were off from what we gave. Oh well, we made it work and are hopeful we don’t have to do it again. On the plus side, our customer service guy we worked with was nice.

I got a killer deal on the front door for my home here quite a while ago. A $2000 door for $850. However, as I have returned here a couple times the staff doesn’t seem too excited to help you and they’re pricing is pretty much on par with the home center stores. At least for molding and such. In their defense, I have not come here a lot recently but I just do not get that warm fuzzy feeling I like to get going to a business. Seriously, after all you are giving them your hard-earned money.

Purchased flooring here, got home, opened the first box and it was all chipped on the corners. They wanted a restocking fee to take it back. Went to costco and the flooring was much higher quality and cheaper. With much better return policy . I will never shop here again. They refused to be fair.

We bought a beautiful mahogany door with 2 matching sidelights. We ordered it prehung. Paid nearly $3000. Imagine our surprise when we got our door and the door jamb is cheap white pine, not remotely close to matching the dark mahogany of the door and sidelights. Salesman Quinton says thats the way we do it here Wed planned to buy our kitchen cabinets and interior doors here for our new construction home but were a bit hesitant about quality after this disappointing experience.

We bought a houseful of the Ducks standard raised 6 panel doors. They were unfinished and very reasonably priced. It did cost a bit of $$$ to have them finished, but they came out beautiful and we have had lots of compliments on them.

Absolute joke.I worked there maybe 11-12 years ago as warehouse supervisor and was supposed to get everything organized.They had several run down building with product and had no idea if their inventory,imagine trying to pull merchandise when you have no idea where anything is and you have to drive a forklift a few blocks to try and find it,Bill is a Nice guy,but him and Nancy are clueless when it comes to running their business

Horrible service and extremely slow. We ordered a door on January 21 and still have not received it as of February 16th. It was a simple, hollow door for a rental unit. They claim that it has taken so long since the order name didnt match the credit card name. The card is under our business name and you would think they would have called the phone number on the order to straighten it out and offered some sort of partial refund to make it right for taking two weeks to complete an order that should have taken several hours. Will never use this place again. I wish I had read previous reviews.UPDATE: Went to go pick up said door on 2/09/19 after we were told it was ready (and after they had taken TWO WEEKS to make the door that they said would be a few hours), and they couldnt find it but they did charge us a $40 extra fee to cut it down 3 inches to the same size as the old door when though the long if taking it here was too Ive old door as a template. Weve been there 4 timest to pick it up and its still not ready somehow. So now we are out $150, STILL dont have a door and no one seems to care. Unbelievable! Please save yourself some time and money and go anywhere else.

I have been remodeling homes more than 20 years. I buy doors from Ugly Duck for my rental homes and for my remodel homes. I am very pleased with the verity of doors I have to choose from and the custom door shop to make a retro fit door for me for a 90 year old home or a new home. Thanks Ugly Duck for having what I need when I need it. Thanks for the great customer service too. I spent the better half of my day yesterday bringing in my doors to find 2 new ones to make work for my small narrow door openings not only did I find what I needed but I looked around the warehouse and found so much more from kitchen cabinets, vanity cabinets, granite tops, moldings, trim works, door knobs, lock sets and much more. I spent time waiting for my wife to run errands while looking around in the warehouse the employees were nice to me and polite despite seeing me there for hours on end. I also noticed alot of customers loading up there finds in the back of the building that were happy with what they were buying. Two people were from Canada and buying here so far away from home. That made me happy to see such a verity of customers from so far away coming back to get the best deal they could worth driving from Canada to get it.

I own a house with shorter than standard door measurements. When I tried to order through the big box stores I was told I couldnt get below height doors.(?!) Ugly Duck helped me pick out the style of door I wanted and cut them down for me. I wasnt stuck with just one style, either, which was nice.Two years later they still look good. I ordered mine unfinished so I could do them to match the others.Thank you for everything!

Great price for cabinets

Terrible experience. Spent $1200 on a door. When the product failed less than a year later they were totally in willing to work with me. I wanted a exchange or replacment and the owner was extremely rude to me and would not deal with me at all. Basically said sorry for the bad luck...

They always let me and my friend take free carpet out of the dumpster. The stuff they throw away is like new and it helped when we couldnt afford to fix the carpet. Great people

Our builder bought our beautiful door from Ugly Duck. What a disappointment. There are visible cracks between the slats. When I spoke to Ugly Duck Doors they blamed our builder for hanging the door incorrectly. It was and is hung correctly. The problem is the quality of the door! Our builder is very reputable! So 4 years later we are stuckwith a very expensive cracked door. Would never give my business to this company again.

Rip off - horrible service - rude people: I went to the Ugly Duck yesterday for a hollow door(not pre hung) but drilled. Nothing special needed. Upon asking a very kind gentlemen (new hire) tried to assist me and was not able to. Quinton came to assist. I explained what I was looking for. He stated he could get me a used door with defects for $60. I explained there must be a mistake as a friend of mine bought a door for $10. Quinton rudely stated not here. I explained that a new hollow door that was not prehung but drilled was $32.00 at Lowes brand new. Quinton rudely told me you should take that avenue, sometimes that just the way things work out. I was shocked, first by his rudeness and secondly by the fact that they have hundreds of doors but want to sell them for more than the cost of a new door. During one of my calls to the Ugly Duck to ask a few questions I was told by Quinton that they work of commission so please ask for him upon my arrival. I now understand the pricing although not the rudeness. My advice, look elsewhere Brown Building Materials has very nice helpful staff and reasonable prices.

Horrible customer service from the top. The workers are awesome though. She was so close minded. Her negativity and lack of thinking outside the box caused a terrible ripple effect. Maybe she just didnt realize how she came across or was having a bad day... Unfortunately, I wont be doing business with her in regards to my future home.

Needed a 42 man door for our new shop. Was having problems locating one, let alone a prehung for a 2x8 wall to be super insulated. Didnt know they had an actual door shop that framed & hung doors. My new best sales person Joe Rank, not only helped me in my desperate situation but came through in spades. For only being there going on his 3rd week, he managed to crowd my order into the 2nd day late afternoon getting the business from his cohorts including the boss. His cool confident demeanor & smile got him & my door through it all graciously. Got a chance to watch him & his boss in action working all the details of the sale to ensure I even had the brick moulding I ended. She runs a great business delivering awesome products. The door fit the raw opening perfectly, the thick real wood jam & high quality weather stripping & metal threshold all work beautifully, showing zero daylight through the jam anyplace. Best of all the price was less than others including deluxe hinges with bearings making three work like a 4-hinge door. Nothing like a quality door to give a great impression to visitors coming through it...The Ugly Duck strives to do this better than any.
