I purchased 2 ornamental butterfly tail goldfish for $20 a piece that died in less than 12 hours and was told that they do not guarantee any type of goldfish regardless of the variety or price. I feel if they are going to charge that much for a fish it should be guaranteed or they need to lower the price so they arent ripping off their customers. I will be taking ALL of my pet supply needs elsewhere so I am not getting ripped off.

I understand that times are tough and staff is hard to find but... the staff at the north store is by far the most disrespectful and just rude. I went in just before closing and the guy was like 6 oclock is 6 oclock bro excuse me?! It was not 6 yet I put my stuff down and left I couldnt believe they let employees talk to people like that!!! That was just the topper. I asked where stuff was and got eye rolls and ugh.. Save your money shop somewhere else

Always have fair prices and usually always have what I need every time I go in there. I live 50 miles away from them and I make it a point to drive-in once a week to pick up some of the supplies I need and new stuff for my aquariums. Very knowledgeable staff and they are always eager to help.

Walked in seen 2 Cockatiels. Asked if they were for sale. Lynn the manager says.The price is $200.00 each. I says Ill take them. Lynn replies well their not for sale just yet!! The mom could lay eggs if she does??? Than we will keep them to mate and sale the babies. 😲 what the heck!! Thought these places intentions was to give animals homes?? Not breed to make an extra few bucks?? Ill stay supporting petco and pet smart.

Had a hard time finding help in the aquarium section, the lone staff member in the area was very busy but eventually when his attention he was very friendly and informative. Hope someones there to help him out sometimes. Loved their assortment of fish and amphibians, and for a moment I stared into a turtles eyes and felt a powerful connection - Im not saying the turtles there are magical, but Im just saying its a possibility. I wanted deeply to pet the bunnies, who seemed relaxed and comfortable behind a short plastic barrier I could easily reach over - but for all your protection, I heeded the signs and resisted this desire. Youre welcome.

For a pet store they are only mediocre, half the staff is rude and acts like you are stupid for asking questions and talk down to you. They dont carry a decent supply of bugs to feed the reptiles that the do sell to people. Better off going ANYWHERE else. And i am not a fan of big box pet stores, but ill go to petco over this location. Sprague location is wonderful.

Awesome store for all things pet and garden.The name of the store is kind of misleading though because the seeds and pets are not located in the northwest part of the store. The pets are in the southeastern part of the store and the seeds are in the north-central part of the store. They do however have a great selection of plants in the northwest part of the store.

I wont even consider purchasing pets here due to witnessing the most malnourished and neglected young ball python I have ever seen in a store.But with that aside, I enjoy supporting this store for its pet supplies, squirrel and bird food and gardening supplies. And its a local business.I just hope that they pay better attention to the needs of some of their reptiles in the future.

Good garden store. I love the plant section. Staff Is friendly and helpful.But fish department gives poor Betta fish care advice.Bettas do best in 5 gallons with filters, air bubbles, heater, plants, and a nice light. These living conditions will ensure your Betta will live happier and healthier.

We have gone to this store for years and have always been very grateful for the excellent customer service we receive. If someone doesnt have an answer for us they will find someone else who does. They have helped us with so many areas, from identifying spiders we bring in, best foods for our special needs pets, assistance with natural pest control and lawn care. They have always been accomadating, even keeping special food ordered and on hand for our pets. Their pet food loyalty program, buy 10 get 1 free program is awesome. (Not sure if this applies to all brands) Tonight we went there for aquarium and fish care concerns and the gentleman (Chris, I believe) that helped us was very knowledgeable and patient. He went above and beyond trying to help us troubleshoot and find what is best and the most affordable for us. The fact that they will test your aquarium water for free is an added bonus. And of course, getting to visit with all the animals makes this a fun family trip, for all ages. I personally am a big Tucker fan, he always brightens my day...

I bought a baby rat from Northwest seed and pet on division and they gave me a box with wax worms all over it and mites in the box this isn’t my first time buying a rat from them the first time they gave me a rat by itself even though they know Rats can’t be by itself and they said I shouldn’t get another one even though the next day I got one the next day from the Northwest seed and pet on Sprague and I don’t have good reviews on them either I think Northwest seed and pet should care more I feel their quality of pets have been getting worse and I don’t appreciate how they’ve been treating their animals. 😢🤬

They every thing you need and ok prices the rabbits are a bit expensive but over all it is a good pet shop. They have all the things youd need for every type of pet in the store nail clippers food collars harnesses cages toys miscellaneous items. But it can be hard to find what you need some times you gotta really look the staff do not allways show you or know were it is and they are relaxed poeple

Drove all the way up north to get lady ugs from this store as their website says they have them. Middle of spring and planting season and no ladybugs. Theyre out. Totally unprofessional of a nursery that is actively advertising them. Also, having a sign that says please wear a mask, and theres employees inside draping them over 1 ear. Totally hypocritical and fascist. Lets put a sign up cuz we wanna look like we do the right thing.

Really lame hours. I forgot this happened once before I misread the location and didnt realize this location closes at 6. What closes at 6? A bank? A lawyer? Currently as I write this cars are pulling in. A lady runs to the door. Its locked. Another looking at outdoor plants. Im here for cat food. I only try to go here because its next to petco which carries my dog food. Its on Division why not 7?

Super friendly staff and the prices beat Petsmart and Petco. They tend to have products in stock when others dont, too. They keep their bulbs/lights behind a counter so you dont have to worry about them being damaged prior to purchase. They arent the closest to me, so I have been known to look at their competitor, but EVERY TIME I end up finding what I want at Northwest Seed and Pet.

I went to the north side location today to look and see what type of fish they had. I had just purchased several fish from their location on sprauge right before. I was very disappointed with my experience on the north side location. I was told I could not buy any fish because I had some questions about an air pump and the lady helping me said wouldnt sell me any fish now, because she personally didnt feel like I had a good enough set up. I had JUST GOT FISH from their other location no problem. And before I could even look I was denied sales simply because I asked about a new air pump. I felt really judged and the whole thing was super unpleasant. I had zero issues at the other location and I have gone to buy fish 5 times now. This was my first time trying to purchase fish from the division location and ill never go back. The girl with bleach blonde hair and blue tips was the one who helped me. Poor customer service to just assume

Found one of the hardest to find plants here and am still thrilled with it!! They have small to large plants! Nice little guys start at $3.99 and i saw a large cactus as high as $39.99 but he was massive guy! The gal working there was so friendly and great! Always love coming here!

The cats don’t taste very good

This is a small, local business.I have gone here for over 40 years, for both pet and garden needs.They have cat food my geriatric cat with allergy issues eats and loves. It is more affordable than the vet food.Today I was getting seeds. It is late in the year so they are pretty picked over. However, when I couldnt find the 4 of the items I was looking for, without even asking, the sales girl came over and helped. She found one of them, but the other three were out of stock.This is a solid company, and is worth supporting.

Oet area not as completely or clean as in the past pet supplies for birds weak. The rest of the store was okay.

I will never shop anywhere else for all my plants and plant supplies! It’s dangerous for me to come in, I almost always leave with plants or pots that I don’t need.

Very nice ladies but they accidentally sold one of the pets we purchased as a set to someone else. They replaced them but it was a little disappointing. We love the new guys though.

Eh the people who answer the phone at both locations are a bit too angry to answer a simple question about food supply.

They always have a great and rotating plant selection!! They don’t always have everything, but if you just wait a week or two for a specific plant they’ll most likely get it in! And they charge half the price of all the other plant shops in Spokane, I know from experience! They also have a much better selection of planters, seeds, and gardening supplies compared to all the others in town!

My boys love this store. Our free zoo. The people have a lot of knowledge and we always see a new animal every time we visit . Like this tortoise it was huge and my boys got to touch it.

This place is wonderful. They have knowledgeable staff and everything you need for your pets or garden. They even have things that you didnt know you needed, like local honey and jars of pickled foods.

Good prices.. lots of choices.. helpful staff.. great reptile section(not pets, but has ALL the best equipment, cheaper than anywhere else in spokane) got a box of hides, decorative driftwood, fake plants, feeder rats, and a snake hook for 55 bucks.

I have been buying oyster shells from the N. Division store and was disappointed to find they replaced them with a calcium grit. My hens and I are not happy!

Best place in Spokane to shop for your pet needs. Its locally owned and has whatever you are looking for. Employees are super friendly and nice. Definitely will be back for my dog food, and cat food, and now fish food. Lol

Love the plants here and fish .if you need any gardening supplys at all and I mean anything of that than a motorized item this is definitely the place to go thay have so much its nice just to go in and brows sumtimes. The only complaint I have is the employees seem depressed and angry?

I have been coming here for a few years now to get rats for my snake and I have to say I will no longer be shopping at this location. Lin was extremely rude to me two times in a row and the cashier Jaiden has a matching attitude. While shopping one day at the Sprague location I was informed by Laylah that the rat prices went up from $6.99 to $9.99 and that my stamp card was no longer good. She then told me that she could do one of two things, 1) start me a new punch card with the two rats I was about to buy or 2) turn my current card that had stamps on it already into a coupon for $6.99 until that card was empty and then I would start a new one at the $9.99 price. I didn’t want to lose the stamps that I had already received from my previous purchases so I chose the $6.99 coupon option. The next time I needed a rat I was down the street from the Division location where I encountered Lin and Jaiden the first time. They were both very rude and argumentative. Lin told me that “that’s not how that works. That’s not a thing we don’t do that” I tried to explain what happened and was told “fine we will do it this time but no more after that and I will be calling the other location to tell them to stop doing that because that’s not what we do” Jaiden rang me up and rolled her eyes about. Today I went in to pick up another rat at the Division location again as this was the closer store to me. I encountered both Lin and Jaiden again. Knowing that I was at this location again I called and spoke with Sam the sales manager of the Sprague location and explain the situation and he told me “as long as they have that size it shouldn’t be any issue and if there is an issue to have them call him” I was happy to hear this. I went in got my rat and a heating pad for a tank and went to check out. Jaiden gave me an attitude about my coupon I told her what Sam had told me and she then called Lin. She wasn’t happy that I was there again nor was Jaiden, who told Lin in front of me and other shoppers “we told her last time that we would only do it once” Lin said “I called them it’s just her, they didn’t do it for anyone else so do it this time, it’s just her” I appreciate that they honored my coupon however I don’t appreciate the attitude nor the fact that I feel as though they are trying to make it seem like I am making it up and made up this coupon on my own, I would never do such a thing. Needless to say this location has horrible customer service skills and I will gladly drive all the way across town to the Sprague location where I know I will get great customer service from all the staff.

It had been years since I have been to this store. I really enjoyed it and the people working there were fun an easy to talk to. I especially like the area that had the pets. They seemed happy and healthy. There was a couple of areas in the store that had beautiful and fun local art. Go and wander, you will enjoy yourself.

I always buy crickets for my bearded dragons from here. I used to buy 5 dozen every week or so, but due to COVID there is a 3 dozen Max. They are still better priced than Petco and the punch card is a nice touch. The indoor plant section is also nice, Ive picked up a few live cacti for the lizzard cage. The staff is friendly, they dont seem to mind when I get the birds whistling. They take great care of their aquatic turtles. Ive never seen turtle tanks so clean. You make me want to have an indoor turtle pond. My cats would go nuts with that!

Jackie is amazing! My family visited on fathers day and when we walked outside to get plants, she was very attentive! She dropped what she was doing and helped my husband pick out what we needed immediately.You can tell she is passionate about plants and gardening and it reflects in her job and customer service. We had a few questions about different things and she had an informed answer for every single one. She even clipped the rose bushes as she was explaning about transplanting roses to us. We are impressed and thankful she was there to help us today.

Bought some cute little fish here, customer service was great. The selection of plants was exceptional!

All white employees, superficial friendliness felt all around but also very helpful. Just dont buy anything breathing. I bought a redtail boa from them and it was doomed from the start. Snake was very timid and often would starve itself. Didnt like live food very much at all and even more so abk =already been killed small rats, and small to large mice and also pinkies. Then one day they sold me a super aggressive rat and during feeding I stepped out for 2 minutes to come back and find the rat eating my snake. Dont believe I did anything wrong. Took the utmost care of my snake and was and still am very sad how that all happened. Anyway. I only go to nw seed and pet for perlite and plant trays

Great place, except for the smell. The plants are great. I bought a banana tree that they re-potted immediately after purchase, which was a surprise. Ive purchased all of my strawberry plants there (I expand my strawberry patch every year, and the strawberries I planted 6 years ago are still thriving.) I like that they have in-house classes, and have enjoyed several, including one about the best varieties of fruit trees for our climate zone.

I was in need for supplies for me garden and was behind the curve for seed. They were picked pretty well but still found what I needed quickly and was back out in 15 minutes, very happy!

One of the worst customer service experiences I think I’ve ever had the gal with the red hair behind the counter in the aquarium center was quite rude. Asking if I had been running a filter and set up my tank and I said yes then she proceeded to ask if I had conditioned my water and I had no clue what that meant because I never had a fish before so I said no and she said “you need to condition your water!”. But didn’t explain what that meant. I had this Pleco fish for TWO hours and it died and my tank was completely set up I spent $13 on my Pleco.She also said that she couldn’t guarantee my fish which I thought was strange becauses it didn’t say on either of the tanks that my fish weren’t guaranteed. At least the lemon tetras that I got survived. But Then as I was about to leave I was thanking her and she’s said “well I’m really helping you out”. I was honestly so annoyed I was about to turn around and find my fish elsewhere.

I like this one better than the one off Sprague. Better customer service.

Healthy animals, decent prices, caring and friendly staff. Manager is awesome and gives handy tips, reptile people are wonderful and knowledgeable. Definitely frequent here and plan to continue doing so.

I went in the North Division store today for the first time & the pet area was so HOT - I’m sure the reptiles liked it but the puppies, kitties & ferrets looked miserable & they were kept in such small little cages. It really hurt my heart! They need to keep more clean & more spacious areas for the pets.

I arrived 6 minutes before closing! Staff assisted me to find specialty cat food and reviewed litter options. I must return and spend some time looking at their hundreds of wildlife, pet, gardening, items. Massive amount of all.

If you are looking for quality customer service, then you have found it. The employees are very friendly and helpful and really know what they were talking about! I am definitely going here again next time I need anything pet related :)

Have to say Cheers to Chris in aquatics dept (on Division). Had some questions about a brackish tank & maintenance that couldnt find on line or in books. He took the time this afternoon (on phone) to answer my questions & also assist on finding needed items at lowest cost possible. Discussed all options. He also very knowledgeable. If anyone needs help in this area give him a call or visit!!!

My wife, kids, and I love this store. For me its because I remember going here as a kids to see all the cool animals and my kids, I hope feel the same way (memories). But as an adult going there for countless amount of animals and plants I wish I could see more knowledgeable help. Im not saying everyone there cant help but its always a toss up. This place has been around for a long time so Id expect its older, so it should be wiser... I know there is a lot of things to take into consideration like pay, blah blah blah. But pay your employees more, less of a turn over rate, people stay longer become more knowledgeable.Love you Northwest Seed and Pet.

Have given NW Seed lots of business over yrs. Last spring bought $8 bulb & planted according to instructions last (mid-late) spring, even watered on/off many times over summer, never broke surface of soil. No idea why. Spoke with them today when in for seed trays, which had good, inexpensive selection. Told maybe could bring receipt but would not provide me another replacement - response was should have told them sooner, although no specific amount of time was given. Wasnt asking for refund, simply wanted try again with another Unsatisfied they dont stand behind their products.😡 Offered no reason or education as to why perhaps did not grow. Do not recommend buying bulbs @ NW Seed.

Customer service is great at this location (N Division). The staff know their products and offer good sound advice.

They have lots of pet care stuff like food and toys and first aid and bedding and habitat stuff. They have snakes and lizards and other things that go bumb in the night. Today they had kittens and rabbits. I bought a dog there once, he has allergies, but he is super sweet and we love him 🐶. As much pet stuff as they have they have just ad much plant stuff. Prices are fair but the place is kinda dirty. One time I saw spring type mouse trap, set and baited, where anyone could see (or touch) it.

My daughter and I frequent here for succulents and occasionally dog items. So this was the first place that popped in our heads when she wanted succulents as wedding favors for all the guest tables. Since we were going to be buying so many we were hoping that they could offer a discount. So when we walked in she immediately went up to the cashier who was not busy at all and she posed a question. And with the rudest most condescending tone this cashier gave her a flat no we dont. I guess for the sake of customer service and a possible sale, I would have asked how big the quantity and maybe even have her talk to a manager. BTW we were wanting to buy 188 succulents...

Always helpful. Very reasonable prices and a very wide selection of products. I have yet to not find what I need when shopping here.
