This towing business is using predatory towing practices. Unfortunately they tow indiscriminately whether you are parked legally or not (public v reserved). They operate around the La Salle and will tow your car, even if you are an apartment tenet, a customer at their bar, or neither. Hamilton towing has a great lack of customer service, professionalism, and ethics.

Do not trust this company! They are a shady business! Myself and multiple others have gotten their car back with the car torn apart and everything scattered around the car with everything out of the glove box. No reputable business should contract them.

Seriously pissed off at this company. My car was towed while visiting a friend at the apartment complex next to Morris Civic. They were NOT called to tow my car. Per the worker at Hamilton Towing, they patrol private parking lots looking for cars without a hang plates!!! They tow without being called!! Just scamming people who visit friends at the apartment complex and those who attend concerts at Morris. What the actual bleep!

I was an over-the-road driver for a well respected and nationally known transportation company. All the trucks are mostly late models for 1st year drivers and brand new first driver trucks for experienced drivers. All the trucks are in excellent repair and look almost brand new. My first truck was a Peterbuilt 587 which was replaced in February 2015 with a brand new 2016 Kenworth T680 full sleeper cab with side skirts. I took pride in my truck and it was beautiful. Even the trailers, despite being empty, were clean, late models and looked better than most trailers in use by most cariers. Because the carrier I was employed with took pride in their fleet, when on home time, the driver is required to park the truck in a secure facility so the truck is safe, no one can break in and no damage could occur. In November of 2014, I came home for Thanksgiving. I was late getting home due to weather and deliveries. I normally parked my truck at Whiteford Kenworth, however, they were closed for the holiday. After asking and being rejected by Selking International, I asked Hamiltons if I could store my truck in their yard as Whiteford was closed and I needed a secure yard to store the truck. Rick gave me permission and the gate code. He did ask I park the truck in the back of the lot out of the way, so I did. I told my driver manager where the truck was stored and he instructed me to offer Hamiltons storage compensation, which was declined by Hamiltons. As time progressed, storage started to change and Halvor Lines was moving into an office space in the same building. On few occasions, I would disconnect from my trailer and park my tractor in the space beside it. What the issue was, Im not sure, but, one time I found my trailer outside the fenced area. When I attempted to connect my tractor to the trailer, the 5th wheel would not fit properly and the locking jaws could not close around it. This trailer was a brand new 2016 Utility refer trailer with only one trip; to the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Auburn, IN. from National Beef in Liberal, KS. The trailer 5th wheel was repaired at the cost of the company I was employed and Halvor never accepted responsibility but the office manager did admit they moved the trailer and claimed I parked the trailer in one of their parking spots despite being parked all the way in the back of the lot where no other vehicles were parked and always where I normally parked it When i was on home time.About a month later, my driver manager received a phone call from Hamiltons stating my truck was parked illegally in their lot and had to be moved immediately before they tow it out of the yard. They also stated, considering it was parked illegally in their lot without permission, they would not assume or accept any responsibility for any damage which may occur while moving it. My driver manager offered compensation for storage, both previous and current which was met with; We want the truck moved, we dont want it here and he didnt ask permission to store it here. I was given the gate code, how could I not have permission? I immediately drove over to Hamiltons and moved the truck next door to Whiteford Kenworth where I was welcomed without any issues.I would have given Hamiltons another two or three stars for allowing me to store my truck without any issues in the beginning, but, given the grief I received in the time that followed, I reduced my rating to one star. I would not recommend Hamiltons for ANY service. Their light duty trucks are mostly current wheel lift dammage free trucks, but, their heavy lift trucks are old and out dated. They do not offer or have a heavy truck wheel lift tow truck. South Bend has numerous towing companies in which someone would be treated more fairly and with respect and who offer dammage free towing for all trucks and vehicles.
