Had a decent experience having my Mazda 3 serviced a year or so ago, no technical complaints. My wife called them today (August 21) to inquire about a promotional offer that Mazda (not Basney) was rolling out to honor teachers with a complimentary oil change. The individual who took her call said that Basney was not signed up for this promotional offer and would not honor it (fair), but my wife left the call feeling shut down and disheartened by the way she was spoken to during the conversation. Respect in customer service is important. There are lots of options for auto maintenance in the South Bend area, and Ill happily take my vehicle and business to a place that understands that.

Tyler Russell was a great person to deal with. From my first phone call with him to driving off the lot in my new Mazda he was professional, respectful and caring about me. Tyler assisted me With the purchase of my car. He is very helpful, knowledgeable and not pushy which is amazing. The vehicles in the lot are extremely clean and well cared for. I was given a great deal along with an overly fair trade in value. There was zero haggling and straight to the point when it came to price. The online photos accurately reflect how the vehicles look, no sneaky angles to hide flaws or factory photos. The vehicles might even be better in person. The only reason I didn’t give a fifth star is due to the very long wait to process the financial paper work. It was a busy day and they were processing loans for others that arrived prior to us. The financing was phenomenal. I would highly recommend.

Had a rear caliper replaced in the shop, I picked the vehicle up on Friday afternoon, Friday evening while driving I had no brakes the pedal went to the floor no stopping. I looked under the car and saw the caliper I just had replaced hanging freely under the car with no brake line attached fluid spewing everywhere. I called Saturday morning and was told I would have to wait until Monday until the service department could do anything. They wouldn’t even give me a loaner until then. Not only could my family have been seriously injured/killed from a faulty brake job now I’m stranded all weekend without a car until Monday morning.

My wife and I went in to look at a CX-5 and a CX-9 at Basney Mazda. Shawn, at Basney, comes out and greets us and asks what can he help us with. He was very knowledgeable. We went for a couple test drives with both vehicles. He helped us get exactly what we needed. Shawn worked very hard for us, and we appreciate that greatly. We will definitely be back in the future.

I had to jump on and write this before my repair is even completed... Purchased a Mazda 3 in 2008 from Orin B Hayes in Kalamazoo MI, of which has a terrible service department from all my families past experiences... I had to drive to South Bend and I experienced a failure in my Mazda which needed to be fixed on short notice.. My stress was put to ease after talking with JD in the Basney Mazda service department, he was able to order the part overnight and have installed in a matter of four days before I have to catch a flight Friday morning. I have purchased many vehicles in the past 38 years. This was far and away one the best and easiest car buying experiences that Ive ever had. Tyler and Chad we absolutely the best to work with. Many times in the past Ive driven away wondering “what just happened” usually something goes array and causes you to somewhat regret your purchase. This was never in my mind at Basney Mazda.

I have to write another review. My first one I loved everything about yall!! But now I have come upon a problem. We bought a BMW and part of the sale per was we get a cover and all weather floor mats as we live out in the country. We did this in October we still do NOT have the cover or the floor mats. Tim keeps tells us theyre on back order, when I could get myself from another dealer online. So something doesnt seem right. I must say I am very disappointed in being treated this way by Tim as that was the 3rd car we had bought from Basney. This has made me rethink where I will get my next car, which may not be for years but I will go where what Im told is delivered. Bought a Mazda 3 2017 CPO Today from Basney Mazda. I was helped a lot along the way by Tyler who is pretty knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the brand. I had heard a lot of bad stories and how dealerships try to dupe you in US but dealing with Basney was pretty straightforward and no pressure tactics. It only took 20 mins at the dealership after I had talked about the car mostly through email and phone. I was out the door by signing the required legal docs and drove away with the car. My first experience buying a car the salesman was pushy and bought a car that was good to me over the years but I did not love so I ended up resenting the car. Now 8 years later I researched cars for over a year to find the perfect one for me. I had narrowed the car brands down to 3 and Mazda was at the top of my list. Shawn Rembold met my boyfriend Jim and I in the lot and on first impression I felt confident and calm with him. It helped that I had narrowed the cx3 and cx5 but he listened to what I needed and highlighted all the details that matched my criteria. Jim and I decided that the cx3 was the perfect size for me .
