Very misleading descriptions! They will tell you something is “VERY RARE, WORST UNDER GRADE EVER” in reality the coin is very common and probably over graded. Having knowledge makes it hard not to laugh about it honestly. In business to prey on the non educated person. You are better off going to a pawn shop.

This is the second time that I have purchased coins at Tolivers. I am pretty certain that he knows everything there is to know about rare coins and precious metals. He has been extremely patient with me and I have learned a lot from him. However, the most important thing that I can say about him is that I trust him. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been purchasing coins from Toliver for several years on eBay. When I heard he Had opened a shop in my town I was super excited. Last week I was finally able to make it down to to see the place. The shop has beautiful coins and Toliver is extremely knowledgeable, I’m always surprised at how much he knows and it’s nice to be able to ask him questions in person. I had a great experience at his shop and left with a few new treasures to add to my collection. I’d recommend him to anyone and I have several times already.

Ebay Purchase - So when you depend on others to post ethical photos for internet purchases you are at the mercy of the firms honesty. I bid on a coin, thru eBay and paid up for it [+ $ 1,600], for the marketing description and photos presented, described it to be 1884 S MORGAN RARE UNC+++! ULTRA SEMI PROOF LIKE! SUPER RARE S MINT!$$$. After getting it, I sent it out for an expedited 3rd party grading, to NGC. NGC stated During the initial evaluation of your coin, it was determined by our grading staff that the coin is exceedingly over-valued as it is at the lower end of the AU (about uncirculated) range and has some obverse damage. It is worth approximately $100. (images of your coin are attached). The marketing pics of the coin were so overexposed, all of the details appear to be clean, vs. covered with wear and defects. You be the judges. I did receive a refund, but had to jump hoops to get it graded, insured, returned and it would have been best if they just took a clear photo of the coin, and toned down the marketing dishonesty in the description, in the first place. No way it was semi proof like, or UNC+++, by any means. But hey, its their marketing model, and it gets more money for them, so take it for what it is. Other coins I have bought there with said hype, turned out to be OK. One other (1892 CC morgan) had a major undisclosed dent (again, not in the marketing photo) in the side, and had to be returned, and the refund took + 2 weeks to get..... just honestly saying...Perhaps buying directly in the shop is great, for you can see what you are buying, vs. relying on questionable photos by this vendor.

Didn’t have BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on here. Didn’t say anything about this when I called last week either. Then the owner had the nerve to send me a rude text demanding I change my review. I did. Here it is. My review now definitely stands at 1 star. Also I will be using my word of mouth to go to Victoria Coins right around the corner. They have similar policies but he was willing to stay open even after his hours to see me last minute. He gets that not everyone is from this area and may not know the policies of his store yet.
