A great local and unique doughnut shop. Zack was really helpful explaining how the dough is made and even made us a special doughrito. Would highly recommend!

I must start by saying, I love donuts. My favorite food is donuts and I cannot be more serious about how much these donuts impressed me. The Everything bagel donut is out of this world and the Oreo donut was another winner of flavor excellence. Chin up has created a new level of donut flavor. the drip coffee was delicious and much better than your stereotypical donut shop coffee. The atmosphere and owner simply gives you good vibes even before you get the caffeine in your system. Go here for deliciously good vibes.

Such a cute and cozy shop! The atmosphere was to die for (I need them to decorate my house). The staff was attentive and friendly. The donuts were fresh and plentiful with fun flavors (I got lavender). The coffee was also made fresh and was deliciously bold. The barista even went the extra step to give me foam art even though I was taking it to-go! I’ll be back next time I’m in the area!

Wow! You have to try Chin Up donuts, these are different than any donut you have had. The dough is not as sweet, which balances with the sweet frosting really well. They have a lot of great options, as long as you dont sleep in! Their coffees are also really good, they have a La Marzocco espresso machine.

Really wanted to like it here! Decor adorable, donuts look great! That is where it ends. Extremely poor customer service. No greeting, pretty much no speaking from employee. Got four different donuts. All tasted the same: like intensely sweet nothing- the everything was the only vaguely tolerable one b/c of the salt in the seasoning. Won’t be back. Have spent $12.97 in far better ways!

Phoenix has upped its donut game in recent years. Another wonderful addition to this is Chin Up Donuts. Chin Up advertises that we specialize in pairing spicy, savory, or unexpected glazes and piling donuts high with inventive and non-traditional toppings and wow do they deliver. We bought a half dozen and enjoyed all of them. The best evidence of their success in my opinion is the Everything Bagel Donut. The Everything Bagel Donut is the offspring of a vanilla glazed donut and an everything bagel. It shouldnt work. It really shouldnt. I cannot stress enough how much vanilla and garlic/onion do not belong together. But... its perfect. Somehow, the sweet vanilla and salty garlic/onion meld into a truly unique tasting experience. It is one of their mainstays so it should always be available. If youre looking for weird, look no further. Im still trying to understand it.A second favorite was the smores donut. I detest stale marshmallows on desserts, so I was happy that the texture was on point. As others have mentioned, the dough in many of the donuts is more of a dense, brioche-style bake. I would have actually preferred a lighter and fluffier donut, but its fine if you know what to expect. The donut itself is also not too sweet, another plus for me. The flavors and unique nature of the donuts are very compelling. And the coffee is the best donut shop coffee Ive had; its pretty close in quality to that of a coffee shop.Just... go try their donuts today. Its worth the trip.

So here are my thoughts:Chin Up is a cute establishment, very Instagramable if thats your thing. The donuts are very fun with cute decorations. Now with that said, when it comes to taste, the donuts are lacking. I had the Birthday donut and quite honestly it tasted like something was missing. Im sure its salt. I tried one of the donut holes hoping for a different experience but unfortunately it lacked in flavor and salt. Probably would come back, I believe is supporting small business. I wont buy a donut though.

Completely overrated! The donuts were dry and lacking in flavor; with a really odd aftertaste. They are purely visually pleasing.

My son and I come here all the time and I just love this place. The chef is passionate about what he does and you see that in the creativity. The owner is terribly sweet and the donuts and coffee are out of this world. I cannot recommend this shop more!! It is the only place I go for donuts anymore!!!

Inside is very nice and comfortable. Staff is very polite and engaging. The donuts are a let down. We order six, four tasted identical. The basic birthday suit donut tasted exactly like the latte donut, the memorial day donut, and the cookie one. Bare minimum the latte one should have something resembling coffee flavor. The website had several other interesting flavors to choose yet not even half were available. The brioche dough used for the donuts seemed too dense and tasted odd. The prices are too high for what you get but the big kicker is the 50 cent charge for getting 6 donuts in a box? One is better off trying many other better priced and higher quality donut shops in the valley that arent a chain. One is actually better off visiting a chain donut shop.

This place is legit good. I don’t eat cheap, made for the masses donuts, and this place is the reason why!!! Yesterday I got the watermelon donut and it was holy mind blowing good!!!!!! The Bomb Pop donut from 3 weeks ago was just as good and is exactly what I look for in quality pastries. I will return in the future as a result of their quality food.

These donuts are weird. They have all types of flavors, and are very pleasing to the eye. The donuts are not sweet, each one was a disappointment. I will not go back, and feel like I should have tried it first instead of paying for a half dozen. Like really, are these healthy donuts?

First time at Chin Up Donuts today and wont be my last! I am a *huge* dessert person, especially baked goods, with a very high level of expectation (my mom is an amateur baker and I grew up with homemade desserts that werent overly sweet). Chin Up Donuts exceeded my expectations today! The Everything Bagel donut was scrumptious, as was the Capn Crunch one. They were deliciously fresh, with that dense brioche dough that I love (if youve ever had liege waffles, they kind of reminded me of those).I enjoyed meeting the owner, Alex, who was very friendly; we chatted for awhile and she even gave me a complimentary cup of their store-roasted Giddy Up drip coffee -- Ethiopian blend -- that was some of the best, most flavorful coffee Ive ever had. (I bought a bag and she ground the beans for me too!) I also love that she uses a zero emissions roaster, because protecting our environment and making sustainable choices are paramount so we can keep enjoying coffee and donuts for many years to come.I cant wait to try their other flavors, especially the vegan ones, and plan to pre-order some online to pick up soon! If you want specific flavors I highly recommend pre-ordering because they scratch-make them daily and sell out fast.Overall the donuts were delicious and in my opinion worth every penny, the coffee was incredible, the customer service impeccable, and I love supporting a small, woman-owned business in our city! Personally I feel that anyone who says anything differently than the above isnt appreciating what Chin Up Donuts has to offer: small-batch, homemade-level baked treats that you could never find at a chain, with an owner who is truly passionate and invested in her mission. For me, thats the kind of business I want to support and give my hard-earned dollars to.

My wife and I were looking for something sweet to eat and this place turned out to be a gem. We love the brioche style dough and we also love that the donuts (at least the 4 different ones we had), were not super duper overly sweet like most of the donut places in the world. They were perfectly sweet in our opinion. Alex, the owner, was super nice, helpful, and patient going through all of the flavors. The place itself is nicely and comfortably decorated. We will definitely be back!

Everything bagel donut was really good. Im sure some people love these types of donuts, but not me. They are fresh and doughy but not as sweet as I like my donuts and some of the flavors were very muted (toffee, latte). I prefer a cake donut or other types, these are a dense brioche style which just isnt my fav. Unfortunately not a huge selection so no real good option for me.

I found Chin Up donuts on Instagram and I was so excited to try their unique donuts. I went on a Sunday morning (July 25th) and there was only one person working, making the service very slow. I even noticed the girl making an iced caramel coffee and she spilled the caramel on the counter and continued to scrape it off the counter and put it into the guys drink..Honestly, I wasn’t a huge fan of the donuts. I’m used to fluffy donuts but these were more like bready/soft pretzel constancy. I got the coffee donut and my fiancé got the peach fritter and neither of the pretzels had flavor to them.

Excellent choice of fresh recipes of donuts. You wont find a Dunkin glazed here, but more creative choices that are very tasty in a subtle and delightful way. Decor is very nice, pleasant place, good advice from staff.Only thing is to work on adding a strong gourmet coffee offering. Lets face it, donuts and coffee go together lockstep. Ying and Yang.

I went here after picking up my car from a nearby dealership and it was a great decision!Normally donuts are not on the top of my list of sweets but these are AMAZING. They arent overly sweet as most donuts I have had and the texture is nice. I also had a mocha and it was delicious and also not too sweet.Ill have to make excuses to go to Scottsdale from East Mesa so I can get more of these!

I just finished my first Chin Up donut - ginger wasabi. Thank good news I have another one in reserve. Otherwise I’d have to get back in the car and hope there are still some left in the shop. This place is terrific - delicious food, as others have mentioned a very welcoming environment and owner who clearly cares about her work, and an overall good feeling about the place. The donut is a brioche-based dough, so it’s some kind of cross between a nice bun, a traditional yeast donut and a cake donut. It has much of the fluffiness of a traditional yeast donut, but with a bit more body, so you may be satisfied with just one. The flavor of the wasabi ginger is subtle and refined. It teases the palate with flavor. This place delivers the goods and deserves to thrive. What a nice break from boring when you are going to enjoy a donut. I’m a fan after just one donut. Thank you for your creativity!! Best of luck as you grow. Glad to have you in the neighborhood.
