Pathetic is a word that is not strong enough to express my disappointment in this bakery. I ordered a birthday cake for my husband, and considering the good reviews, I had high hopes. My cost was over $100, and what I received was so embarrassing. Not embarrassing for me, but this business. It had no decoration, it was roughly frosted and not smoothed out, and it said on it in what looked like something you would draw get from a grocery store, Happy Birthday Alex.... Yes, even with the dots. This was not a cake I would want to give someone I didnt even like, and I did not think this was worthy of my husband. To call yourself a bakery, whatever. You guys are the worst I have ever had, and I have ordered many cakes from other bakeries who have done an incredible job with my price point. I hope COVID has hit your business hard because you dont care about your craft anyway. For anyone considering them, go elsewhere.

I purchased two dozen lemon meringue tartlets for a baby shower. They were such a big hit! So delicious and completely gone by the end of the night. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

We ordered the best cupcakes for my grandsons first Birthday party from Classic Cakes! The children loved the whimsical snowmen themed mini cakes and so did the adults. I definitely would recommend trying for your next party or event.

I highly recommend this bakery. I first went in to purchase cupcakes (yum...good 1st experience), then tried several of the cakes (very good, try the Russian one... very unique & delightful...and the Gluten free chocolate... so good youd never know it), and have also ordered the cherry, blueberry & apple pies (really excellent). The staff is very friendly & the shop is kept very clean & tidy, too. Looking forward to trying other items!

I found them online as a Scottsdale bakery with good reviews and then I saw the ombré design. We got a large one in chocolate for a retirement party and this cake was the star. I looked amazing. Photographed very well and tasted beyond what you can imagine. I can highly recommend.

Highly recommend Ella with Classic Cakes and Confections! We ordered a cake for my sister’s birthday. I just gave her an idea of what we were looking for. She completely exceeded our expectations. I couldn’t have dreamt up the design she produced. Such attention to detail and so creative! It was absolutely beautiful AND it was absolutely delicious! She was so easy to work with and has so much passion and talent for what she does.

Customer service is non existent. Very rude! Made me feel like a three year old child. I won’t be back, ever! Just as we left she demanded customers to shut the door! I cannot believe this level of service even exists in such a high-class neighborhood. Who mentioned anything about touching displays? I was referring to the way she responded when I asked for my milk to be heated in my latte. I was referring to the way she spoke to me, like I was a child. Being an adult, I can read and do not need anyone to tell me not to touch. My mother taught me that!

Close to two years ago now, Ella from Classic Cakes and Confections made our wedding cake. Both my husband and I loved the cake! Its was delicious and she does beautiful work! All of our guest who tried our wedding cake could not get enough of it. Shes great to work with and we appreciated her professionalism towards her craft! Weve now started a tradition to go back every anniversary to have our top tier recreated. I recommend her to everyone. Shes LGBT friendly too, which was very appreciated!

Customer Service is very much lacking...Ella was very rude and smug when we were discussing a specialty cake. I don’t care how good you may be, or how many people seek you out! Customer Service is extremely important EACH and EVERY TIME. I was very happy to walk out of your bakery and take my business elsewhere! I have found a wonderful designer now who is making exactly what I want, and for LESS THAN HALF the price! I wish you the best, but you will not be getting any good word from me whenever anyone asks where to go for a special cake! You’ve lost out!

Most delicious fresh baked cheese and green onion scone and oat milk latte. Friendly service. If I didn’t live 5000 miles away I’d be back every day.

Classic Cakes is the cutest little bakery/cafe in Old Town. Their Red Velvet Twinkies are absolutely dreamy and my favorite thing they make. The customer service has always been impeccable every time I visit the shop, which is quite often. They have the sweetest girl-Devon-working the front-end and I recently learned she is on the spectrum which makes me love the shop even more for employing individuals with these uniquely special characteristics. It shows the shop has a real heart and cares deeply for the people they employ as well as the delicious products they provide. I will forever recommend this shop to anyone I know. If youre ever in the area I highly recommend you stop in and order the red velvet twinkie, or really anything, I promise you wont regret it!

I love this bakery. Great customer service. Ella is friendly & welcoming. I stopped in today for her carrot cake, which is always moist and tasty. Best around. I also dig their banana bread, coconut bars and coconut macaroons. If youre in the Old Town area, do yourself a favor and stop in!

Tarts were a big hit! Owner was a life saver and stayed an extra 30 minutes for me to pick them up!!

I absolutely love this bakery!!! My mom and I get a gelato weekly. The gelato is made in house so it is always fresh and delicious :) the brownies are rich and always wonderful. The staff is generous with the serving sizes of their goodies. Every time we go in we are greeted with the warmest smiles. Devon is such a gem!!! We go in just to say hello... we are truly blessed to have such a delicious place in Scottsdale!!

The cakes are not only beautiful but delicious ,the banana bread is such a big hit with me that I brought it back to Ireland for my 93 year old mom to try .She was amazed by the taste and now wants me to go home more often hmm I believe it is because of the banana bread.The owners Elle and Neil are wonderful and passionate about their work they really care that their customers are happy. Keep up the good work classic cakes! I will be back for more.

We have used Classic Cakes and Confections for several events. I could not recommend them high enough. The designs were fabulous and the taste was amazing. The cakes were the center piece of our celebrations and everyone raved about them.

I would have given this place 5 stars if the cheesecake hadnt been sitting in the case for ???? The coffee is good. I had an Americano....good beans. The cheesecake ...I just hollowed out the middle and ate it and left the dried out crust on the outside. Too bad because it looked amazing. Ask if its fresh before you buy.

As an professional wedding planner, I have known Ella at Classic Cakes and Confections for many years. Her wedding cakes are perfect. I recently had her design custom cookies for my sons rehearsal dinner in Chicago and they were a huge hit. Ella takes her clients seriously and you can taste the goodness she puts into her sweet creations.

I walked and was pleasantly welcomed. The pastries here are delicious and the coffee is just as good. I really enjoyed the Ingot carrot cake! Such a great flavor. I will definitely be back again.

Ella is INCREDIBLE. She is very sweet, easy to work with and most importantly, knows how to bake the most delicious wedding cake. We had to pick two flavors of cake because we just couldnt decide there were so many options. Our wedding was 6 months ago and our guests are still raving about our cake. I operate the Chocolate Tour of Scottsdale and noticed the red velvet twinkies were almost always sold out. Last week I tried one for the first time and was AMAZED! These are so delicious; the perfect balance of sweet and soft without overwhelming the senses with sugar. I divided one with two of my Aunts and they demanded more! The next day I drove back to the store and bought the remaining five from the bakery case and we all lived happily ever after :)

My favorite dessert is chocolate cream pie. I have searched and tasted chocolate pie the world over, and I thought that I had found the best tasting one ( at a little deli in Minnesota) but now I know the best one in the world. The chocolate cream pie at Classic Cakes and Confections. This one is IT. Best chocolate pie. Ever. I got this during the holidays. I honestly dont know how they do it. The chocolate part is so velvety and rich, with so much chocolate flavor, and its balanced by the whipped cream on top that is also thick, but not too sweet. A perfect balance. A luscious, divine, exceptional, chocolatey good pie. The best. I ate it for dessert, for breakfast, for lunch.... It is magic.

I live in California and needed a cake for my sister’s 50th birthday who lives outside of Scottsdale. I thought it would be fun to somehow showcase my sister’s pet potbellied pig, Mabel. Ella worked with me to come up with a solution. After sending her some pictures, Ella created the most amazingly accurate model of Mabel! We put it on top of a fabulous cake from Ella. My sister was speechless! She will be able to have this wonderful keepsake indefinitely. Thank you, Ella for your idea and talent!

Ella with Classic Cake and Confection was amazing to work with and went above and beyond for our destination wedding! As someone in the event industry, I’m very particular about wedding cakes and Ella used all of the inspiration photos to create the perfect wedding cake. She was very easy to communicate with and extremely punctual. We had two different layers, and both were absolutely delicious.

Best coffee ever. I highly recommend the salted caramel latte! The owners are great people!

My Dads favorite pie is coconut cream so we ordered one for Christmas Eve because he was in town. We were blown away at how delicious this pie was. The coconut was incredible! My Dad said that was the best coconut cream pie that he has ever had and he is already looking forward to the next time he is here!

This place is delicious! I have to go here every Friday during lunch for their cheesecake. They also have a Korolevsky cake to die for! The owners are very nice and more than willing to explain all of their treats!

Terrible customer service! Called and inquired about a GF birthday cake. Talked to Ella. She said there will be an extra charge for it since its short notice! I said Thats ok. But they had a full day.Went to the store in person and talked to Ella again. Shes is very rude and aggressive. I asked for samples/photos and she shrugged her shoulders and said we dont have any photos!! Any format would have been nice; digital or paper-based.Shame that I drove 30 min for them in a very hot summer day!The owner has responded to my review. But unfortunately he/she lied about me asking for books. I asked for sample photos and didnt care which format they would come in.Its one thing to have terrible customer service and its another to lie. An apology could have been nice. But that needs understanding and consideration!

Costumer service was ok but wasn’t great. I was looking for a simple cake for my daughter yesterday and walked into the shop with having just one employee present, I asked if she could whip me a simple rosette cake like the one I have seen online and I will pick up later that afternoon but she refused me right away saying that she’s by herself and that she have alot of baking to do. So I asked her if that’s the only cake she have in hand for the rest of the day and she have told me yes but she will be making more later that day, so I asked if later she can save one for me and I will pay for it now but still refuses she said its first come first serve. So having no choice I have purchased the last rosette cake they have in the shelf with two tiny cheese cake bites which cost me $50 already. When we got home boy am I so disappointed with the cake, it was so dry and crumbling all over the place it wasn’t pleasant to eat at all it wasn’t worth 50$. I am not going to be coming back to this bakery in the future and hope to help others to know that, before they go and spend their money there.

Been stopping in and getting treats for a while and I have to say they never disappoint. After the most recent remodel the shop looks great. Cant wait to get more treats.

I love classic cakes and confections! Ive tried different things there, from the chocolate cake truffles to chocolate pie, chocolate covered strawberries! cookies, cupcakes and more. Everything I eat there is absolutely delicious!!! They are always super nice and super great at the store :) We love going there!!!!

Absolutely terrible service, the gentleman that served us treated us like we were not “worthy” to be in the shop. He was very rude the way he spoke to us and we immediately walked out to do the way we were treated.

Ive used Classic Cakes for my childs birthday parties for years. Everyone always remarks how delicious they are. They always listen to the design I have in mind and then come up with something that looks beautiful and perfect :)

I love the mini fruit tarts that they carry, they are delicious! One of my other favorites is the apple pie, very tasty. I would recommend their cheesecake as well.

The cakes and stuff here are great. They also have a good selection of chocolate. We had hot green tea and it was delicious.

Ive been buying these delish pastries for a long time and this place never disappoints. My fave sweet treats I totally recommend are the red velvet twinkles, cherry and blueberry pies, and they have amazing flavors of cakes especially if you like chocolate. If you need a custom cake they are the people for the job. They can make some really cute to very deck out beautiful designs for wedding to birthday parties. Whats them very unique is thats all the pastries are made in house even their coffee is freshly made with the options of cold brew, nitro, or a simple favorite of delish lattes. Personally, I go for chai tea lattes and wild tonic kombucha if you want something more refreshing. They are really nice people with unique, delish treats and drinks also they have some cute Knick knacks and delish Harney & sons tea. Go check it out and enjoy.
