My daughter and I had a ball in here this afternoon! Selection and quality are amazing. My daughter was all excited with the treasures she found and then she checked out with a blonde woman in a pink sweater who was mean to her. She told my daughter to speak up even though my daughter clearly answered her question of credit or debit. My daughter is so sweet and would never disrespect her elders, but it really sucked that thats how our fun afternoon ended. Also, my daughter overheard a second cashier say to the rude cashier, I might as well go back to work at the bank! Great store but really disappointed that my daughter left the store feeling badly.

I absolutely love this consignment store. Ive been coming here for years and usually leave with a unique item every time. They have a great clothing section with designer brands. If you are trying to fill a new apartment or home with special items this is a great place to come. Feel like there is more here for women than men as far as clothing and jewelry. My husband goes to look at the books when we come in together and then he is usually done looking way before I am! Also great selection of art here. The best part is that most everything is actually AFFORDABLE so that a regular person can go in, buy a few nice things and not break the bank. Usually pretty busy whenever I go. Plan to spend at least an hour in here! Cant recommend this place enough.

This consignment store is a goldmine! They have a great selection of home wares, clothing and other brand name decor. This is a great place to visit if you want to waste a couple hours and go treasure hunting. Everything is actually decently affordable as well! Sometimes it can be busy though so keep that in mind. Masks are enforced and they do have directional arrows for the aisles to control the flow of traffic and to maintain the 6ft apart distance. Can’t wait to come back!

If youre looking for a wedding dress try the consignment shop! TONS of beautiful one!

Great deals... usually higher end merchandise but priced fair.. inventory turns quickly so always finding new items with every visit..staff freindly and helpful.

This resale shop has to be seen to be truly appreciated. I spent over an hour browsing art, books, vases, furniture, clothing, and jewelry and probably could have stayed another hour and still would not have been able to adequately view the scope of their collection. My wife loves sterling silver jewelry and they have hundreds of pieces all at incredible values. If you are looking for one of a kind art objects, this is the place to find them. I will definitely be making regular visits as I was told that their inventory turns over fairly fast. I was there on a Monday afternoon and the parking lot was almost filled to capacity. My wife loves the turquoise silver bracelet and glass globe I brought home pictured below.

WoW, from diamonds to pots and pans. Ive found furniture and framed prints as well as needed kitchen items. Stock seems to change weekly. Youll need what you find and might find what you need. Lots of knowlegable volunteers to help find something. This store supports a great charity. Money well spent.

I like this place you can find good stuff for a reasonable price. Its always a good place to kill some time you might find things that you thought you didnt need but do.

If you are a second hand bargain hunter like me, this shop is a must! There is no part of this store, I havent appreciated. Ive found great furniture, cute outfits, a pair of pants that fit me (which is actually super hard to find. I have 36 inseam), great home decor, and so much more!

No comment.*UPDATE* Actually, I do have a comment. Ive lived in SRQ since 2005, and Ive frequented SWEX several times; Ive also donated items. Most every time I go in, Im treated poorly. Either Im ignored in favor of white customers or treated with disdain and suspicion. However, when Ive visited with a prominent SRQ Arts figure, Im treated like royalty. Get a handle on your white privilege and race relations SWEX, especially now.

Always a wonderful shopping adventure as there are an amazing wealth of treasures to be found. Great furniture area, housewares, clothing, jewelry, books, artwork and a huge rug selection. If you love it buy it as it may not be there when you return. The price tags continue to go down the longer it remains in the store.

The Exchange is a consignment store. All the workers are volunteers. The store is so organized. There is an abundance of clothing; accessories; jewelry; handbags; household items; artwork and so much more. If your into designer clothing, this place has it.Check it out. I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the selections.

Probably, the best store in the town. Huge selection of jewelry, kitchen dishes, decorative items, good quality furniture, and great selection of area rugs.

I miss the old set-up, the way the store was before they gained the extra space for furniture. Before it felt more like a treasure hunt, now it feels like a department store. It lost its charm for me. The furniture is less eclectic and more mainstream (boring) than before and you never find those charming or quirky low priced antique or furniture treasures any more. I used to go every Saturday, now Ive only been about 2-3 times since they renovated. They are very nice people, very helpful and the money goes to support the arts, which is wonderful.

Best place for quality resale, staff is always helpful

It’s a nice place to shop but much of what is used is near retail for new prices. The 1-Star is because of the rules for sellers. If you are selling, unless you don’t care if they keep your stuff. Once you give them something to sell, if it doesn’t sell, they keep it. Beware. Also they won’t give you the time of day if you have a truckload to sell. They are too strict, and each week it’s practically random what the will accept and you can only drop off 20 items. If you don’t call them that day even if you bring them the requested items of that day that was was accepted that day. If they already received too much of that type of item, they will refuse you. Even if you drove 40 miles. If you are a seller, don’t waste your time. There’s plenty of other consignment shops that won’t keep your things and have less crazy rules.

I love visiting the exchange! It is always clean and organized. They have the nicest volunteers working. Always a deal to be found. My favorite part is a tie between the dishes and jewelry... Oh and the art...might as well add the furniture too! Its all great!

2019-01 Great location. Good clean parking area. Well staffed, clean, organized, well lit sales floor. Very high quality goods. Not a typical thrift store. From jewelry and furs to mens slacks. Go check it out.

The Womans Exchange is easily one of the best thrift stores in all of the Sarasota/Siesta Key area. The staff is great and the selection is even better. All of the wares are Designer or Boutique style items, however they are sold at thrift store prices and will not be placed on display if there is any sort of major flaw with the item.The furniture selection is what continually draws me into the store whenever I happen to be in the area. All of the furniture is very unique and has tons of character, in a good way.If you are in the Sarasota or Siesta Key area and want to get out of the heat or off the beach, I cannot recommend the Womens exchange more for a great place to furnish a home or a wardrobe.

Maybe a little shady! Stopped on our way to the airport, heading home to Michigan. My sister picked a beautiful tea set for a friend for Christmas, only to find the sales people didnt put the cups in her bag. Called the store to inquire about the missing cups, of course I thought theyd say oh yes theyre right here. To my surprise I was told there are no cups to be found. Nothing left on the counter, Nothing without a tag. In fact the person on the phone was quite rude. Funny that you didnt ask for much information, but were able to search your inventory and not find anything. Being a consignment store who knows who the owner of the tea set was. Sales associate perhaps?? You just go ahead and put those back in inventory?? Nice way to do business!!

Great consignment shop. It is huge! Lots of furniture in one section, a section for designer clothes, a few large jewellery area with a wonderful staff person just for jewellery. Then there ate the regular sections of clothing, books, home goods etc. They also showcase local artists ... which is great. An interesting shop to visit .

Shop for top name brand while supporting the community. Such a fun experience as you never know what find you will run into.

Fabulous items at great prices

Clean, large and well organized. Large selection of quality home goods and womens clothing. The day that I visited, they have a team of 8 or more volunteers, staffing the store. It was a big surprise that they have a large selection of precious gemstone jewelry. They have a jeweler volunteer to confirm the quality. I cannot wait to go back.

We used to shop here all the time now its like its art gallery they have overpriced items that are donated to them and they put prices that you would find in the middle of New York City on a new item. Simply crazy prices. I will say the furniture was decently priced.

Quite a discovery! A native Sarasota told us to be sure not to miss The Womans Exchange. She said it was a consignment shop, but very high end. Said that she bought a Chagall there!! So we had to go. And it was well worth the trip! If we had the inclination -- or the money -- we could have bought a Georgia OKeefe! But The Exchange has everything from books, DVDs and clothing to estate jewelry and china. I had the sense that if we strolled through the large store once a week we would find great treasures. As it was, in a ten minute visit my wife managed to find a bracelet and necklace she fell in love with. The store gives you a sense of pursuit and a treasure hunt. Even moreso than an antique store -- Im not really a fan of antique stores, but I thoroughly enjoyed The Exchange!

As a local here in Sarasota & I live downtown, I popped in to the womans exchange today as I hadnt been there in a while. I had forgotten how rude they are especially at the jewelry counter I understand you make 40 million a year and you are stating to me that its season... IDK Im a customer too, I also dont need to know how you cant find the key and youre the only one at this jewelry counter the back operations drama does not need to be shared with your customers. Both the counter person and the jewelry manager could both use with a customer service class or 2 For lack of they deserve a one star 👎

Prices are way to high for used items.Retailer has become greedy over the years. They market items only a giving back a fraction of what they make to the seller.

Its a treasure hunt when you go there. And its for an excellent cause. Ive found the most beautiful vintage glassware and other unusual pieces.

Ever since they acquired the space next door the prices have skyrocketed. Are they unaware that half the stuff they sell can be had at Home Goods new and for less? The boutique section for fashion is a joke unless youre over 60. Theyve also become a bit uppety in their attitude, cranky old ladies every last one of them.

One of the best kept secrets in Sarasota! A second hand shop that truly has top quality goods with prices that are often so low youll feel like youre stealing it!Large selection of womens clothes, shoes, purses, and accessories. Also home goods to include art, kitchen pots pans and dishes, furniture, and all sorts of knick knacks. Also a huge selection of jewelry. All the employees are helpful, courteous, and nice. I highly reccomend a visit if youre within an hours drive.

Not sure what I was expecting walking in here. I can see where it would be a treasure chest of stuff for some. The store is split into three sections: Furniture, clothing, and bric-a-brac. Most of the stuff is just glassware and cookware. Nothing quirky or special, just run-of-the-mill yard sale quality stuff. The associates were all very friendly and helpful though, which is great. Stop by if youre looking for clothing or furniture.

As a customer, I love the womens Exchange period as a consignor Im less happy. Over the years theyve become a little less competitive on their pricing and a little picky or about the items that they select for consignment. I sometimes think that they only want to Target customers on the upper end of the social scale. If your look for looking for designer Goods then this is your place. And it is a good resource for previously owned furniture
