I took my boy out on his very first kayaking trip around the peer and the team at Adventures by The Sea made it really easy to get checked in and out onto the kayaks fast and painless. The weather was perfect and the kayaking experience is one our boy will never forget. Thanks for making it easy to create awesome memories.

We had a great time! Staff was friendly, helpful and patient. The water was so calm we even ventured into the ocean a bit. The current got much stronger past the pier though. We saw seals, crabs and sea slugs. An hour and a half was the right amount of time for us as paddling can wear you out if your not used to it.

My wife and I had a great time on the guided tour. We received a lot of information regarding the history and ecology of the Santa Barbara area. Our guide took us all the way down to the Kelp forest and pointed out a whole host of wildlife indigenous to the area. Well worth the money. Would recommend this to anyone living in or visiting the area.

We had a really great experience with Paddle Sports. The staff was very nice and got us onto the water quickly. We did a walk-in kayak rental and had zero issues. The equipment is well kept and gets the job done! There are also small lockers in the shop available for storage of smaller bags. I appreciated the quick review of the map of the area and points of interest. We checked out the seals at the red buoy, the kelp forrest and then got to play with a pod of dolphins (about 4 miles in total). It was a beautiful day and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Great service and good prices. The 2 people who helped us were kind, patient, and knowledgeable when it came to explaining routes and safety.It gets a little confusing when returning back to the dock, but just pay attention to its proximity to the gift shop as a land mark and youll be fine.

The boat and experience itself was great, but customer service was poor, only one person actually spoke full sentences to me. The guy down on the dock didn’t wear a mask and was basically grunting at me to communicate. Would probably not choose this place again.

The guys were super nice and informative. The weather was beautiful and my husband and I had a great time. This was our first time kayaking and were looking forward to doing it again. Our dog (his first time too) also had a great time. We loved looking at the seals, the birds and silver fish. Maneuvering the kayak in the ocean was easier than I thought it would be. I took my back pack with me with my cell phone inside (for pictures) and it was perfectly safe, we all got a little splashed and our bottoms wet. Id recommend sunscreen and a hat/sunglasses.

I kayak in SB Harbor as often as I can… I meet up at Paddle Sports with a group of ladies on Sunday mornings. The staff is always prepared for us and helps us with everything we need, and with a smile. The staff here is terrific. Safety first with this bunch. I love the moonrise paddles. And notably: One staffer helped calm my four-year-old granddaughter’s nerves when, as she got into the kayak for the first time and a giant bull seal passed close to our kayak, she became fearful. What might easily have become an aborted excursion became one of my most memorable days on the water.

I had a blast surfing with you guys!! The lesson was really cool and our instructor drove us to his favorite place to surf. The waves were amazing.Id definitely recommend if you want to surf or learn how to surf go to this place. Its so worth it. I will never forget this.

We had an AMAZING experience with Paddle Sports on our pacific coast road trip. We pre-booked the wildlife and history kayaking tour for Saturday and had an awesome tour with Adam. He was lots of fun and gave us good information on the area and wildlife. He took us out into the ocean to see the sea lions and I felt very comfortable out in the open ocean under his guidance. He also took pictures to help us remember our tour.We also wanted to try surfing and Paddle Sports was very accommodating working us into a lesson in our limited time frame. We were able to do the 8am surf lessons with Max and it was awesome! He took us out to a nice spot where the locals go and began the lesson. As someone who has never tried surfing before, I was a little nervous to be going out into the open ocean, but he gave us all the information we needed to know to keep us safe and stayed right by us the whole time guiding us and giving us tips. The whole experience was incredible!I definitely recommend Paddle Sports Center and hope to come back for another visit some day!

This was a really fun kayak excursion! Max was our guide and he was great. We toured the harbour, went out to the pier, paddled out to the ocean a bit to see some seals, stopped at a little beach, and saw lots of cool birds. This is a fairly chill tour. It’s not super physically demanding and we took lots of breaks to observe stuff along the way. Enjoyed it very much!

We had an outstanding experience! Adam was very extremely knowledgeable and had a great personality. The weather was perfect, no wind at all and the water was smooth as glass. Colors in the sunset sky were beautiful. We will refer our friends and family for sure. He did say he was going to send photos to my email and I havent received, Im sure he will be sending soon. This place is great! They have kayaking, paddle boarding, and I’m sure there’s much more but those are the only two I really have any experience with here. The people that work here are super pleasant and helpful. I always feel like I’m speaking to a friend when I’m in here. If you love water sports, this is the place to go in Santa Barbara.

The workers in the actual center were very helpful and informative, however the workers outside by the dock were not as helpful. When my family and I was done kayaking, we had to tie ourselves to the dock and get out without any help, even though we were calling for assistance we didnt get any.

Board shop right near the beach was super convenient and such an easy process of checking out a board. Plus I can’t complain when the assistance we had was super friendly and attractive too! Definitely planning on visiting this board shop next time I’m in California. (:

Had one of the best days in Santa Barbara as a local in renting a SUP from Paddle Sports Center. Really fun experience and super easy to get set up and out on the water. Awesome time and can’t wait to go again. Very cool to paddle out through the Marina, right by the seals, then under the wharf, and out to east beach!

Easy access and great membership plans. You can be out on the water in minutes after checking in and on your way home right after -The best part about Paddle Sports is you don’t have to store the board nor invest in a pricey piece of gear that needs to be transported, maintained and upgraded when new models come out. No messy beach sand in your car or house! They do Kayaks too.People love paddling in the harbor, but I go straight out offshore to Ledbetter point and the Mesa.They also are big supporters of the awesome Santa Barbara Maritime Museum right next door. I frequently stop there after a paddle. The harbor community in Santa Barbara is awesome!

We did the SB wildlife & history kayaking tour which I enjoyed very much. Sun was shining, easy paddling and saw plenty of birds and seals fishing under the pier. Our lovely guide Sachi was charming and informative. Great outing!

Rented a double kayak and headed out of the harbor past pelicans, seals and sea lions. We were soon surrounded by a small pod of bottlenose dolphins twirling, leaping and surfacing all around us. It was amazing and a bit scary. Paddled north for about an hour and headed back. A beautiful memorable experience and a perfect weather day.

This was our first time Kayaking so we just paddled around the harbour. The staff was awesome and made us feel safe and comfortable. Highly recommend this company!

It is SO convenient to just park & be able to get on the water so quickly at either location. The people that work there are great too. There is even instruction for SUP or kayak if you need it.

My girlfriend and I wanted to try out Stand up paddle boarding. We googled local spots and just followed the link. I grew up In SB and it was fun to paddle around the harbor and sand spit. I love hanging out and paddling at Paddle Sports Center. The staff is always super helpful and passionate about paddling. Santa Barbaras Paddle Sports Center did an amazing job at introducing me to the sport of SUP Boarding! I had the pleasure of taking my first lesson from owner/instructor, Kaya, who did an amazing job of introducing the basics. Not only is she knowledgeable about SUP Boarding, but shes also a marine biologist. I highly recommend visiting SB Paddle Sports Center for lessons and rentals.

Walked in looking to rent a SUP but was advised (rightly so) to take a Kayak instead because of the wind. The kayak was great and the suggested route through the harbour and out into the ocean past shoreline beach and into the kelp forest was great. And to be able to return to a warm shower made it outstanding. Thanks.

Paddle Sports Center allows the Santa Barbaran to feel like the are taking a vacation and the tourist to feel at home. The visit of Santa Bárbara would make paddling amazing but the Paddle Sports Center’s mission of “safety-first” for the ocean and it’s clients insure we will be amazed. Love this place!!!

PSC has been awesome. The staff are knowledgeable, courteous, and all around good people. I currently don’t have the means to store or transport a board so I appreciate the convenience of being able to walk in and paddle away. They’ve got a variety of SUPs available which has let me get a feel for what I like. Their hours let me beat the crowd on weekends or get in a session after work. PSC has provided me with some quality life experiences on the water as I paddle to recovery and has me primed to shred hard this winter.

We thought about buying our own kayaks, but Paddle Sports makes it so much easier and more convenient to kayak that we do it far more often than we ever would with kayaks of our own. We love it!

I made online reservations, but I accidentally made them at different times. Stephanie was great and adjusted the reservations so they were all together. She also explained the details of the lifetime membership, which I will be signing up for next time i come in. Thanks Steph!

It was fun and it wasnot too expensive. However, my friend’s kayak flipped over and the paddle broke. When we went to return the kayaks, they charged him $75 for the paddle. I thought they could have been more lenient considering this was all an accident.
