Got a fun Frisbee, my knife pablito, and my favorite fishing rod from there

After going to every store in Santa Barbara that sold shoes this was the best place. Conner and the other sales associates were the most helpful and friendly sales people I have talked to in months. We had them look for easily 15 different shoes to try on due to some unique challenges and they were fast, patient, and thorough all while helping other customers. We wound up getting multiple pairs.

It went well. The store is well stocked and they have plenty of store employees walking around to answer your questions.

Thas a good place to stop along the coast, Highway 1 Santa Monica and have some Good Asian food.

Staff was friendly and quick to get me what I needed from the store.

I love the prices and selection. Today, I was trying on shoes. Omar was very helpful , brought out lots of shoes and even tried to order a couple pair for me from the Ventura store. The best customer service ever!

Nice Big Five! It has ample parking and has supplies for all the usual sporting needs. They have a good selection of shoes although limited on sizes. Trying to find someone in the shoe department to help you is difficult sometimes. They do offer some good sale prices on shoes.

Cozy 50x70 inch throws/blankets on sale. Reg price $17.99. $10 off.This is what my soon to be 4 yr old grandson chose.Its a hot day and my intention was summer water 🔫, but hey who am I to deprive him of a $8 sale item lol.

Basically dont go here if youre a woman. We get a picked over corner of clothes to shop through, all shorts with no pockets! Yay! unorganized and barely any sizes, tiny selection of shoes. Dont worry if your make tho! You get the whole store!

I wasnt sure what to expect but this store knows what they are doing. I work in retail too and they are following all the guidelines and making it safe for everyone. I went in looking for 2 specific items and had to ask for help. I had excellent customer service from everyone I talked to. I did purchase those 2 things I very much needed. My only regret is that I dont have the names of the 3 staff members that assisted me.

I have been shopping here since I was a child.

Too cluttered. No room for social distancing when trying on shoes. There was dog poop out in front and manager didnt seem concerned about it when brought to his attention. On the plus side, my return was easy, simple and quick and was credited back to my bank card. No hassles.

I was super suprised on the great deals they had for Hiking boots. Went in when they were about to close, but their customer service was more than excellent. Left with 3 pair of shoes and really happy. Great experience. Thank u Big 5!!!!!

I shop big 5 for yoga clothes.Every year they have a good sale on good yoga clothing and cross trainers. The store is always clean and well stocked. Staff are well mannered and product knowledgeable.

Big 5 sporting goods it was clean well-organized are the people that are very helpful and besides waiting line to get in which is understandable with the whats going on prices are great I got my mom three pairs of shoes that I could normally not afford their on sale for $25 a piece and I got myself a radar detector the few other things for summer coming up and I was extremely happy and would recommend it highly to other people thank you very much

Its a small sporting goods store but conveniently located with plenty of parking. They have a good selection of goods for most sporting and camping activities. The quality of the goods is average but the prices are economical (compared the higher end stores). The main attraction is the good selection of athletic shoes at very low prices (if they have your size). But, getting a sales associate to help you can sometimes take forever.

Need to teach your employees some customer service. Found the guy covering the shoes rude and not very helpful. If you are going to have someone get the shoes from the back, train them some manners. People who like people is always a good start.The seating for trying on shoes is a joke. There were 8 of us, with shoeboxes, trying to try on the shoes, crammed together on this small, plastic chair bench. No real space to move. Not a great experience.

Big 5 Sporting Goods is located in the Five Points Shopping Center, on upper State Street and La Cumbre. They have changed their store recently. The store used to have space to move around in. The store used to sell large sports equipment, it doesnt anymore. Although, they may online. The store is very tightly packed now and movement in the store is challenging. Although they had the item I sought, they didnt carry the size I needed. The have lots of sports (athletic) clothing and shoes for all ages. They have pretty good prices. They have great sales, check the Santa Barbara News Press on Sundays for their sales ads.

What can I say about Big5? Everything Sports and Outdoor/Camping related is right here. Best prices & selection for shoes/boots. They have been doing this kind of business for decades. Cant beat their prices or selection. Very highly recommended.

In Santa Barbara you dont have a lot of sporting good stores, so Big 5 is it. Overall ,good store, nice selection of goods,and the prices seem to be in line.Parking is EZ and the service is fine. I always find what Im looking for.

My boyfriend and I were looking for last minute gifts. The staff never asked if we needed help. There were four staff members. The manager David was standing by the register socializing with the female cashier. One of our items was missi4 the tag. She told me to go get another one. I didnt know where it was. She was very rude. We told the manager and he said he is just one of the managers. He said nothing. It was a terrible experience.

Did not find what I was looking for but good selection of sporting goods.

This place has very low prices for decent quality, I bought a pair of work boots from here for $35 dollars and they took 5 months of high mileage and very demanding work as I am,a big guy. They have a wide range of products to choose from and are located close to many other shops, there is adequate parking apace even when it is busy and nearby bus stops.

Seems as if the computers are always slow to the Government website for licensing (sorry we just got a new system), but, that happens everytime I get my fishing license.If it were me, I would refer fishing licenses to the gun counter were there are no exiting customers with merchandise.I would investigate their modems to make sure there is no packet crashing due to intinuation.Being a computer expert, this is what I suspect. But, as unusual there will be other issues like dial-up modem use vs high-spd cable or other links. Most usually are the RJ-45 cable is longer than 100 feet without a booster.JM2C

I was about to visit Yosemite and was looking for some gear. This place got it all, i asked for help and one of the guy in the staff was super friendly and he helped me find my stuff. Thankyou Big 5.

Great store. Sometimes you have to ask for help but the staff has always been willing to help and or found someone knowledgeable that can answer my questions. Great return policy, bring the receipt and theyll help you out (no time limit).

Log gone are the days of large big box sporting goods stores. But Big-5 stood the test of time and survived. Big-5 is one of the only places in the santa barbara area to purchase sporting goods . They have a little bit of everything.

One of the best places to buy sleeping bags in Santa Barbara. The store displays both unfolded and packed sleeping bags for each model. This helped me choose the right material and the right size (when packed). There are discount coupons /codes available online too.

New good deals on Nike, New Balance, also some deals on other brands around $25 - $35.

Today Sunday I went in to buy a mask and snorkel for my son the lady working there didnt know where that equipment was and so then I just bought my product and then she couldnt get my credit card to work in her machine so her manager Ryan Myers came over and I told him that she didnt know where the masks and snorkels were nor could she operate the machine Ryan Myers finish the transaction once I left the store he followed me out to talk to me, I told him I was out of time, he then told me to never return. It is obvious that Ryan Myers does not want to train the new girl.......so sor for this big five.

The selection and prices at Big 5 are better than most other Sporting Goods stores. The staff is kind and friendly and help you find what you are looking for. Sales are ongoing and what you want is normally in stock or they will order it for you.

This location at Five Points is so disorganized finding anything is frustrating. I realize sale items are dug through by bargain shoppers but nothing is easy to find here. Needs more staff and needs regular cleaning.
