Ali is very rude! And they charge me to diagnose my car which was over heating again after they fixed it. They said it was my water pump and thermostat housing and wanted to charge me $700 water pump is fine and no leaks from nowhere. Finding out it was only a air pocket. John is only well known mechanic they will not pocket you for your money. And after I went to 2 more mechanics and it was a air pocket

Im not a car expert by any means, so when i have car issues its always a huge headache trying to find a place that does good work for an affordable price. After my experience at Tuffys, i can tell you this place does both! Ally the manager was an extremely honest and funny guy, explained what problem needs to be taken care of right away, and which could wait. They definitely made a loyal customer out of me after this visit, keep up the great work!

Had an issue with the car pulling from one side to the other while driving and just generally feeling rough on the road. I took the car in as it’s down the street and I just moved to the area trying to find my new mechanic. Took it here for an oil change and to get whatever was going wrong diagnosed and fixed. When I came back they said nothing is wrong but you need four new tires... I just got four new tires about 6 months ago... so I told them I don’t see how that’s possible and how that’s the only issue. The front desk manager assured me nothing wrong with anything else so all we did was the oil change. Fast forward to the next weekend and the first real drive I take it on the check engine light comes on and then the car feels very sluggish. So to say the least I now have a bigger problem because they didn’t want to do their job and actually look things over. I paid for my oil change and left and noticed instantly a loud noise that wasn’t present prior. Turned around and took it back and they said whoops we forgot to plug a few things back up. So I find it hard to believe they didn’t screw my car up worse than it was before and now I can’t even trust them enough to handle any more work or be honest enough to really tell me what’s going on. Cheap service and honestly feels like a scammy situation where they make more problems then you show up with. Frustrated doesn’t begin to explain it and they should be repairing my car for free but again I don’t even know if their mechanic know how to do anything except an oil change. **edit** someone reached out to me vial phone call to go over things which I called today with John and set things up to hopefully get things fixed. As far as the response from corporate over this review. 1/10 you have no clue what happened or what was said to me In That office and all that was told to me in person was that I needed new tires when I had just gotten four new tires and maybe replace a piece of the a/c which they recommended I take to wherever I got it worked on last which I appreciated. So I’m not sure whatever you came up with to try and combat my review to save face. Maybe they told corporate something different than what they told me but I will be working with John the head mechanic who seems to want to rectify the situation and hopefully it will all get figured out. Will update again after service

Because of Amtraks incompetence and lack of communication, I was forced to have my passenger door mirror on my 2021 Tahoe removed so it would fit on the Auto Train. I had to have it done in Lorton, VA and then find a place in Sanford when I arrived in Florida. From the train I called Tuffys and they couldnt have been nicer or more professional. Did an incredible job on short notice and got me out of there in about 20 minutes. On my return trip, same exact experience. Great staff. Incredibly helpful and supportive. Highly recommended.

Worst experience I ever had at a mechanic. Parts counter was cursing at my family for asking questions. Refused to service our car after we did everything they asked. Very unprofessional. Very unkind. Lied to our faces. Would never recommend anyone ever goes these. Plenty of better places

They keep changing my breaks because every time they change them, they are squeaking and no one can explain to me why.Update. I ask the previous owner if the van aways squeak and he replied yes. So I called Ali the manager and apologized for the review. I also told him we go to a doctors to get advise as to we go to Mechanics for our cars so they can advise us on why things happen to our vehicles. If he had advised me of why my van squeaks I believe I would settled with that being that my van is heavy machine. I go to the Mechanic to get advice not only to fix things but also to recommend and advise me.

Disingenuous service & fake mechanics hiding behind corporate name Tuffy. Spent 3k over several visits trying to trust the process but these bozos cant tell the difference between an engine problem & transmission issues. Got the answers I was paying them to figure out in 1 visit to another shop? Ive been advised to SUE

Went here to have my oil changed. They recommend service for over $1000. When I said Im only here for an oil change and cant afford these repairs right now they got mad. Ally was very rude to me. Talked to me with a condescending attitude and told me I dont know what my car needs because Im a girl.

I have tried several mechanic in Lake Mary and Sanford for engine light and the car was stopping. This place was the only one who was able to fix the car and brought it better than before with much less cost. Very professional, fast Ive never waited more than 30 minutes, they dont try to rip me off because Im a woman. Jose is great. Took care of me within minutes other places in the area quoted me hours in wait time.

After I had my CV joints replaced by these guys I took my car home and parked it in the garage. The next day I started the car and pulled out my garage as I was pulling out of my garage I noticed drip marks on the garage floor. So I stopped and looked under the car and there was a steady stream of dark fluid coming out. Realizing that it could be the CV joint oil leaking I rushed to Tuffy with my car. As I pulled into there parking lot the car had no power or control I basically coasted and luckily there was enough momentum that I could pull into a parking space. Since this occurred on a Sunday the shop was closed so the car was not worked on until the next day. The next day I spoke to one of the shop owner (I actually had to call because no one called me back about the issue) and basically the shop owner blamed the issue on the part distributor saying that they gave him the wrong car part to install. These guys are trained mechanic you would think they know what part goes with what or at the very least check to see if the part was right for the car. I think the shop didnt install it completely right and they didnt want to admit it. In the end the shop owners didnt take any responsibility and they didnt even apologize. I think when it comes to complex issued this shop is not the right place. This shop is better suited for oil change at best because so far they havent messed that up yet but then again I dont think Ill be back.

Went to Tuffys in Sanford this morning to have my AC serviced since the condenser was leaking freon. Was getting a quote so they could repair that, replace my brakes and diagnose an error code on my Outlander. The person at the front desk told me if they replace it and it doesnt correct the issue it becomes my problem. Really!?!?!? Thats customer service for a company wanting my business??? I understand he has to diagnose it on his end no kidding but I already knew it was the condenser because I had it diagnosed recently. But to say if it doesnt fix the problem its my fault. Realy sh*tty customer service for someone trying to earn my business. I wanted to get it fixed since its so close to my home but after that experience ill take my business elsewhere and make sure I let my friends and family know not to bring their business to Tuffys.

Used to be the best mechanics around, got new management that was rude. It took almost an hour for an oil change. Nice mechanic. Miss the old team, will not be returning.

Had to come here three times, after they damaged my spare tire the first time, still damaged. Most passive aggressive front desk now says they won’t work on my spare because is “too old” (is a 2019 tire and they didn’t say anything the two previous times) and because I used fix a flat (after they told me to use as an emergency measure). Save yourself time, money, and mental health by avoiding this place at all costs, there is two other shops in the same block.

This location IS NOT located where the pinpoint on Google Maps is. Keep driving down 46 in the direction of Sanford and it will appear next to a Laspadas Original sub shop and across the street from Route 46 shops. If heading towards Sanford on SR-46, it comes up on the right about three minutes down the road from the marked pinpoint.

Simple battery replacement was $300.00. after a very long wait. It was an Interstate which priced at $150.00 elsewhere plus installation probably. I still would suggest getting price quotes at various places first. Otherwise Tuffy has been very good on its other services. Coupons on line.

I scheduled an appointment to have my transmission flushed and then they tell me i have two bald tires which they barely were bald but i still replaced them. They changed my oil and didnt even flush my transmission so then the girl up front Tiffany (she is amazing!) fixed the misunderstanding and made the oil change free. I leave and a few days I check and my temperature gauge was messed with. DO YOU GUYS NEED MONEY THAT BAD? LUCKILY my car was under warranty so I didnt have to pay the pretty penny you TRIED TO GET ME TOO. F*** this Tuffys! My family will never go back :)

I took my wifes car in to get diagnosed and was told that the transmission cooler hose was leaking, and needed to be replaced causing issues shifting, and that the valve cover gasket was leaking as well. During that time they recommended that we give it a tune up to save on labor costs for next time it needs service. Fixed all the issues, leaving my wife overjoyed. Mr. Thomas Reed runs an EXCEPTIONAL service shop. Take your car here, you WILL NOT regret it. Great trustworthy technicians.

Locally owned. Offered free oil changes to healthcare workers. Called and made appt for following weekend. Not only did he do my car but also my husbands. I witnessed first hand the owner speaking to a few customers each time a car was completed from having repairs. He sat next to them. Explained it in very easy language. Not only did I get a free oil change, I saw the respect he gave each and every customer he had in there. Being female, I trust almost no one with my repairs. I will be hands down taking my vehicle to this location in Sanford for any future repairs. Did I add they rotated my tires for free?On top of a free and wonderful experience, I’ve never seen an auto shop so clean. The bathroom looked like something out of a magazine and was spotless. Brought my 90 Mercedes 300E in to get a tire patched. They charged me $35 for the service which i thought was a bit steep as those typically cost $10-20 but I was in a hurry so i said fine. Tech comes to me 20 mins later saying that he cant patch the tire because it was ridden while flat to long. This looked to be true as he showed me. The reason though for my review is that they tried to charge me $160 for a $50 tire. I told the tech this and a service manager chimes in to defend their pricing. Give me a break you cannot defend a 200% markup I dont care how you word your explanation. I wont be going back as i am not partial to my hard earned dollars given away to fatten their pockets.

They were respectful, kind, patient and made me truly feel like part of the Tuffy Family. They turned my very bad situation into a positive experience. I have never dealt with such an unorganized business before. I dropped off my car Saturday at the Sanford, FL Tuffy because I had an oil leak. The OWNER told me I would be called that day when completed and with an estimate of how much it would cost to get it fixed. Not only did they not call me back, they are closed Sunday. So I had no way of getting my car back until I could get ahold of someone Monday. The guy who I spoke with Monday morning had no idea what was happening with my car and blamed it on the fact that he doesnt work weekends. He told me he would call back in 15min.. I wait an hour to call back and they STILL had no idea what was happening. After two hours of waiting Im told that they want to charge me a total of $2800 for the repairs. So obviously I take it somewhere else. Masters Auto about 5 minutes away gave me a total for the repairs of $1350. So not only will this place WASTE your time, only make excuses for poor organization and management, they will also rip you off.

This is the place to bring your car to be fixed if you want it done right and at a reasonable price. They will be my place to go from now on. Bob was courteous on the phone when I first called. And later when he explained what needed to be done. Tom was polite and courteous when I first walked into the office. It would take a bit to fix my car so Tom took me home and picked me up when it was ready. Thanks guys for excellent service!

I did not have a good experience when I brought my car here several months ago -- I was presented with a repair option for my tire as if it was a permanent fix, and it was not. Three days later, Action Gator took the time to correctly diagnose and fix the problem.

Overall amazing service despite some bumps. Highly recommended. Will come back again.Heres the full story: Had an appointment at 10 am and was waiting 2 hrs for a simple oil change. That being said the circumstances surrounding the delay was understandable as they were busy, but definitely frustrating. That being said they completely rectified their mistake and offered to cover my oil change and much much more. Wonderful service from Tom (manager) and Bob (assistant manager). They were personable and very knowledgeable. Tom answered every one of my questions about my cars.

I brought my vehicle and Strickland for maintenance and I have your brakes checked, they called me with an estimate of $775 I told him to go ahead I picked up my car after hours, and now the ABS light is on and the traction control will not turn off had no warning lights prior to bringing my car in and now I’m going to have to bring it back Monday which really pisses me off… I have a hard time believing that They took it for a proper road test

I needed an oil and filter change for my Toyota Camry. I was searching for good service, the best price, and wanted it done in less time than what local competitors had offered me which was approximately 2 hours. I was referred to Tuffy. The greeting of the service person was first impression, a good feeling. While I was waiting, he took the time and explained some other things that were important to save me some money on future maintenance. Not only that, but in between customers he shared how he got started in the area and he was happy to have made the right choice. As I drove off the lot, it just seemed like my car was happy, too. I plan to go back again and have Tuffy do other maintenance that I know my car needs. Came in to get my oil changed this morning and the lady at the counter told me when I was checking out that my battery needed to be replaced as the voltage was only at 12.46. It’s a 12 volt battery !! I told her right away after I double checked online that my voltage is normal. She just looked away after that ...why would you LIE to your customers just to make an extra $100 off them ?????? They lost my business for GOOD after this ! I hope it was worth it ! I don’t recommend this place to anyone !!!

Great place to have your car repaired, they stand behind their work.

I used a Groupon for an oil change and they didnt treat me any differently for using it. They were all really sweet to me and they made sure to inform me about other things they found wrong with my car. It was obvious that they cared and told me about a tire that needed to be changed since the wires were showing. Thanks again for doing a wonderful job and for caring! I would recommend this place to anyone. More people need to know about the amazing services they provide! :)
