A locals’ favorite since 1999, with four locations including two inside SJU airport, Gustos Coffee Co. was formed at the same time as Daniel Omar Torres and Grisel León relationship, the couple’s presence in many of Puerto Rico’s top eateries attesting to quality Beans treated with care.Sourced from farms in Yauco, the same head Roaster in charge from day one assuring consistency, it is inside the spacious store at 954 Ponce De Leon Avenue that guests will find friendly Baristas and assortment of merchandise, everything from shirts to socks lined up next to Espresso machines and Pastries.Puerto Rico born and bred, a commitment to the Island proudly promoted in Gustos’ literature, it was on a particularly humid morning that Cold Brew was selected, the brew’s maturity yielding complex notes of Cocoa and medium acidity well-suited to cleansing the palate between bites of a toothsome Corn Muffin. Also with an on-site Kitchen, a variety of Tostadas and Eggs made-to-order, it was on the outdoor patio that two addition Baked Goods were tasted, the Chocolate Chip Cookie a bit over-baked and thus hard while a square of Apple Cinnamon Cake was aromatic and lightly sweet beneath buttery Streusel.
Great place. My wife and I enjoyed sandwiches and frozen coffee. Wow were they tasty. Fresh. And very friendly staff. We had a good time just relaxing and talking. It’s even dog friendly. I will go back! It’s that good!
Best coffee shop in PR! Great espresso. We visited multiple times during our stay and each time our espresso based beverages were crafted perfectly.. The chirpy ambiance is a plus. Must visit!
Gustos Miramar is a coffee style breakfast/lunch setting. Service is amazing and food is light, fresh and full of flavors. There is personal contact with the hosts including the baristas, cooks and managers which are open to suggestions and changes. The coffee and their fresh made pastries are amazing, just wish that the blueberries muffins will be available daily. The sitting is outside (fresh air) and inside (great atmosphere). The place is so good that I have my daily lunch and coffee there, no other options are considered. In love with Gustos Miramar.
This is a modern cafe that serves an excellent coffee. I wouldn’t say this is “old local” like what you expect out of the movies but it is “new local”. Plenty of hard working modern professionals sitting in a beautiful space trying to craft out their dreams on a laptop or a sketchbook. This is an excellent coffee shop that you could easily transplant into Seattle Portland or New York.
My 14 yr old daughter and I were in Puerto Rico for a week and stayed down the street from here. We literally came here every morning. Best breakfast place ever! Food is fresh, coffee is amazing and servers could not be nicer! Really going to miss it!
Very nice coffee, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. They sell Puerto Rico grown and roasted whole beans, which is what I was after. The staff is very knowledgeable about the beans and they have a ton of options.
One of the best places to have a wonderful coffee. Staff is very professional and service is A+ Variety of coffee and coffee beans, the bes coffee you will ever have, pastries and brunch menu also available. The place is beautiful, clean, and inviting.
An hipster feeling place that as the vibe of the Third Wave coffee shops in North America! The staff is super friendly and will serve you in a happy ambiance! They sell their own coffee and some merchandise labelled with their brand name. This is an open space, so no matter if you are with your love one or with a group of friends, youll have plenty of place to seat. I personally love the bathrooms covered with partition paper, very original touch!
Well done, fantastic concept. Great sandwiches and desserts. Outstanding coffee.
Great strong lattes. Necessity for starting a long day exploring San Juan! Must stop by to get your coffee fix.
Must visit - Gustos is a nice cafe serving delicious coffee in a pleasant environment. The espresso roast was dark in Porto Rican style, but not overly roasted - strong chocolate notes. Baristas were friendly, multiple seating arrangements made working or meeting up easy and the patio was very enjoyable.
Their Cuban sandwich is amazing! I loved this place they have tables outside, plenty of room.
Completely rude to tourists! It’s like they don’t want ur money! And they ask for a tip?! For what? U put in ur order at their counter! No one waits on u. No English menu available. They get ur name wrong! And wearing the mask keeps u from understanding one another! So the cashier keeps yelling things back and forth to u! Can I have an ice coffee with cream? We don’t have cream. Ok so what do u have?! Can I have this or this? No we don’t have it now. It’s unbelievably frustrating. Was really looking forward to this place too. We’ve been on vacation here for 3 days and have yet to eat a proper meal!
Lovely place to relax. From coffee to artesanal beers to wine and pastries or sandwiches. Love its decor.
Food is delicious and healthy. the coffee is the best i ever had and the service is amazing
Second time Ive come here, and has never let me down on a very good meal
While parking can be an issue (there is only a very small, attended lot with 1 hour free parking) its worth the wait. Amazing coffee, great pasteries, great sandwiches. A real Café experience.
Excellent coffee, and the breakfast was good too. A bit expensive, but I suppose is reasonable considering the area.
Horrible service to tourists. Learn Spanish because they don’t care to help or serve you.
Beautiful spot. Cant go wrong here
Look no further....this is the best Coffee Spot in San Juan. Great place to enjoy the casual atmosphere and a nice cool breeze through the open storefront and the Big Fan above the main seating area inside. If you like outside seating, they have it covered with several tables on an elevated patio above the sidewalk. Great Customer Service and Awesome Staff!Cappuccino and Latte made with expert hands ( Alfredo ) on their La Marzocco Strada.
Best Latte! This place is a must for the coffee lovers.
Overpriced average food. It does have a nice ambiance though.
Worst cappuccino I have ever had! The espresso shot was so bad and bitter I could barely drink it
Stopped for a cup of coffee and went with a vanilla iced latte - awesome. Cute shop, great service. Would definitely recommend.
Lattes, espressos, macchiatos...Great espresso bar with alternate milks available. Food is great as well. Highly recommend!
I adore the decor here and the coffee is always amazing. Love the outdoor seating area. This place has become one of my favorite spots.
Situated in Miramar very near to the music conservatory, the coffee from Gustos is very good. This is to expected from a place specializing in coffee on an island known for it! The ambience here is casual with people of all ages hanging out and conducting business, chatting or just enjoying themselves. Id say we saw an equal mix of professionals, friends and people sitting solo. There are tables inside and out, with the inside being deceptively large when you look at the store front. There are lots of options for baked treats, sandwiches, and other food items available and all of the normal things youd expect from a coffee place. They dont seem to have wifi, which I found weird, but maybe I just missed it. If you are coming here to work, bring headphones, as it is a pretty loud environment. We didnt have food, so I cant directly speak to how it is, buy it all looked really good and the plates going back into the kitchen were pretty clean, so it must have been good. They have a wide variety of souvenirs available for purchase like mugs, t-shirts and other things, all with the Gustos name on them. We will definitely be back.
Their coffee is really good and I even got some to take home with me. The food was ok but not something Id get again. It was a place Id go if I wanted a cup of coffee to-go. I wouldnt want to go sit there again.
Friendly staff. Great coffee. Slow service in the preparations counter. Our toast was ready way after we had finished our coffee. Nice coffee shop ambience.
Staff was incredibly friendly and coffee was great!
Excellent food and service!! Definitely worth it, thank you to all the team, you guys are awesome!!
Nice coffee shop, cool environment with outside seating. They sell good quality Porto Rican coffee and it’s really good. You can also buy coffee packs and beans. The menu also include wraps, sandwiches and pastries. The chocolate brownie and quesito con dulce de leche are to die for - perfect match for an espresso. It’s a nice place to relax and get a decent coffee. It can get more packed during lunch time, but usually there’s also seats around. The staff is always helpful and friendly.
Strong coffee. Nice ambiance.
Delightful, friendly, and helpful service and without a doubt the midst scrumptious breakfast and coffee we had in Old San Juan. I thought recommend visiting and ordering any of the coffees. My fave menu item is the Aguacate. Delicious!!!
Nice place but they dont have wifi
Great coffee at reasonable prices. I personally liked it much better than Starbucks at half the cost. Clean and friendly service
Best coffee Ive had ever!
Great coffee shop. Service is very good and employees are always ready to suggest alternatives.Excellent place to chat with a friend over a good cup of coffee.
Loved it! Loved the food, the location, the outdoor tables, the prices and the service.
Omg!! the food is amazing, the price is realy good and the service is great. Totally recomended 👏🏾
Great spot for brunch! The coffee and food are delicious! Loved the french toast! Service is excellent!
Coffee is perfection! Baristas are super friendly and very knowledgeable
Very excellent coffee. Awesome service.
Oh the best coffee happy people great service.
Great place but their coffee needs more roasting. The coffee toast is a little sour meaning that the berries are not toasted through. It is a style of toasting that I have been seeing lately in the U.S. but, it kills the natural flavors of the coffee and potential.Everything else is great. Food is outstanding.
Good coffee but no wifi.
No wifi, which was bad
Gustos is the best coffee spot in Puerto Rico! Great atmosphere and many comfortable spots to work or spend time with friends. Large front windows open, and large fans overhead ensure youll always have a pleasantly cool breeze. Their food and drink selections are delicious - my only feedback would be that they dont fill their iced drink cups completely. :) I also wish they were open on Sundays too!Stop by Gustos, you wont regret it!
Sexy atmosphere, ~hip~ but kind of yuppie... creative decor and color scheme reminds me of the sepia camera filter. big space, high ceilingsthey keep their doors completely open so there is no barrier between the inside and their outdoor seating area, which i really liked. open air flowtheir coffee is amazing. i dont regularly drink coffee and am very selective/critical when i do since i dont love the taste of espresso. my friends who are avid coffee drinkers also loved the coffee
Love it...The best coffee
We spent a couple hours here sheltering from the torrential rain.Very cool coffee shop with a nice decor and atmosphere. The coffee is good, staff is nice. All in all thankful that the rain pushed us in! It was worth it!
