Artfully decorated and curated bookstore that really invites you to dive into a creative, literary state of mind. Lots of handwritten recommendations along the shelves placed at eye-level, with various interesting knickknacks interspersed between all the books. The space in the back also functions as a venue for book readings and such. Cool spot to visit and discover a book or two!

Beautiful space. Bookstore, bar in the back. Funky schedule. Has a vibrant events calendar. Reminds me of Adobo books in the mission -with a bar!

Great place to grab a drink and explore books. Books are chronologically sorted which I found super interesting. They were missing Shogun, James Clavell, 1976, but it was fun to search through and compare tastes.

The bar in the back is fun, and sorting the books sorted oldest to newest is such a clever idea - starting thousands of years ago 😂

I saw Kiese Laymon (author of Heavy, Long Division, and How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America) read from his new memoir, Heavy, here. That night was probably the closest mankind has come to experiencing heaven on earth. Bindery’s reading room is stocked with liquor and bar nuts, and Kiese is stocked with honest combinations of words, so how could it not have been heavenly?

Read passages from their bookshelf to a date. That was a good strategy.

Rude and snarky staff; one of the more stuck up places on Haight St. This place won’t be getting my business.
