A Noe Valley treasure! Super friendly and knowledgeable staff oversee a well-curated selection of books for all ages. They can order anything for you and its easy and pleasant to pick up. They even now have a pandemic-driven but super handy online order process so that you can skip Amazon and buy the book you want at any time of day or night and then head on in to collect it.

Alyssa cheerfully greeted us and took the time to listen to what we like to read, and then recommended new authors to try. We love sharing the excitement of reading with her in this adorable little neighborhood shop.

Was picking up an online order, staff was very nice and helpful. Also responsive to my emails and updated me on the status of my books. Would rate higher if I could.

After the great help and service I received when quickly searching for a birthday gift for my 5-year-old cousin, I had to show up here to say thank you to Folio Books and Paul.Despite the minimal guidance I provided , Paul made a number of helpful suggestions and shared some great ideas for future book purchasing. It was one of me better book shopping experiences, and Ive had many good ones.Really wish I was able to walk in and peruse the shop in addition to receiving the great help I got, but Ill just have to come back.

I have been coming to Folio for several years since moving to Noe Valley. Today I returned a book after mentioning the huge price difference that I found online. I returned the book only 10 minutes after buying it. I wanted to save money. Paul used insults, calling me cheap for returning it for that purpose. I asked if he was kidding. He told me that he was not. I live here and this is my neighborhood bookstore, but unfortunately I will not be back.I have updated this review to 5 stars based on the response from the business/owner.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good childrens selection. Its pretty small and if youre looking for something unusual they may not have it, but theyll order it. Author readings for adults and kids and an email newsletter.

Folio Books is awesome! I love going there for books but I can usually pet a dog. There are few businesses that you can go shopping with a dog and this is one. The book selection is amazing! So if youre ever out walking your dog and want to buy a book or pet a dog this is the spot. That is why a dog is mans best friend.

Nothing I like more than a locally-owned bookshop! This one has mostly used books and a few new books. You will dig it! They also have a magazine section and small selection of childrens books. Come in with a list of your fave authors and look for them on the shelves.Support small biz!

Every time were in the neighborhood waiting for brunch we come here.My husband loves book stores. Generally, he leaves with a book, no matter the bookstore. Folio has a great selection of books for children, and they always have books related to current upcoming holidays or events. I ALWAYS leave with a book for my classroom :)

Ive lived in Vegas two years and this was my first visit to the store (but not my last!) it has all the things you look for in a used book store- the great used book smell, enough books to get lost in and some quirky charm (the sci-fi section gets split in two which made me laugh and adds to the maze-like experience).

This place is the nicest, friendliest, retail experience ever. Its my 8 year old sons home away from home. Theyre kind enough to let him go back behind the counter to special order books with the friendly staff. They make fantastic recommendations. They do lovely seasonal merchandizing and also incredible gift-wrapping. Store is clean, family-friendly and has so much more humanity and warmth than buying books from the robots that run Amazon. Spend an extra dollar to have a human experience in local Noe Valley retail gem.

What more could we ask of a Noe Valley bookstore? Well, besides a good stock of books purveyed by friendly and knowledgeable staff with an owner whos a gifted bookseller and delightful woman who manages to find abstruse volumes for me.Besides, its clean and well lighted.

This book store is awesome! They have a kids area with chairs to read and a fort! The selection is great. They even had books from web comic authors like Kate Beaton and Zach Weinersmith! Beatrice was super-nice and helpful!
