Fantastic little bookshop. Well laid out with lots of local books and interests. Lovely vibe. Particularly liked that there was a queer section for young adults. Excellent range of non-book gifts too!

Quaint book shop that makes you feel cozy and comfortable. I love how there are cards filled out with care and thoughtful descriptions of many titles in the store. You can tell the employees enjoy reading and its something special to share with others. Stop in if you need a read. This place has everything.

Big collection of mostly new, some used books (and paraphernalia) that span genres. Easy to find things

I go here all the time to pick up a great book, then bring it around the corner to the little shamrock and read the first 50-100 pages while nursing some beers. (these days, the same but taking it to golden gate park.) they have great books here. lots of deep cuts and every type of book is well represented, have found lots of good stuff here. kudos to the knowledgeable staff who make it all happen. !!

I really like browsing in this bookstore. Ive been able to find some cool gifts from there and they also have a great graphic novels section. Only downside is that they sometimes dont have the books Im looking for, but they can always order it for me and I pick it up between 2-3 days after.

This is a great bookstore. It has both new and used books (most books are new), a great selection of different genres and topics, and even novels in foreign languages. I also love that it has some character --- that sets it apart from the major local bookstore chain. Go buy a book and enjoy it in the park!

This smaller store brings the spirit of Green Apple to the Inner Sunset. In the old Le Video digs, this small store has incredible staff recommendation, a great mix of used and new books, and discount popular books. Plus the kids section is incredibly comfy for the little ones to read. I love how they put on intimate bookstore readings here with some amazing authors. Best addition to the Inner Sunset in years!

Green apple books 2nd location! (the original is in richmond). This took the place of le video, its a great spot. I love the bookshelves that contain the employees recommendations. So helpful to gain another persons insight. They also often have authors as guest speakers.

Don’t miss the discounted books in a crate outside, which change whimsically and i love digging through them for any serendipitous find!

I live in Buffalo NY but make trips to SF to visit family. I always make sure that my trip includes a stop at Green Apple Books. It is my favorite independent book store. The childrens section is outstanding. I bought a book for my 18 month old granddaughter and a book for her mother. A gift card is always appreciated by my son as a birthday present. I look forward to my next visit in a few weeks. Support our independent businesses!!!

Love it here - one of the few bookstores that feels like a real bookstore. Its quiet yet lively and the staff are knowledge (some arent very friendly though). Great collection and cute original items. Sometimes they only have hardcover copies of books. I like the free bookmarks with each book. They can order books for you, too.

Loved the local bookstore! I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and all of the thoughtful staff reviews! I picked up the darker side of magic...and so far...it was an excellent recommendation based on my reading style preference. I like that they have events- Ill be back! I plan on coming here to support my local business and community... instead of buying my books on Amazon.

Green Apple Books has been a Gift To San Francisco for decades. We waited feverishly for this new little store to open! Finally, a bookstore in the neighborhood- wow! Impressed by wonderful staff and knowledge. Big fans flock here...

Not as magical as its Richmond District older sibling, but decent selection and friendly atmosphere. Has an almost boutique-like feel. Nicely curated collection. Not the best if youre looking for something a bit on the weird side, but something for most tastes can be found here. Good for picking up a quick present or if you need some reading material for a day in the park.

I love this store! The ambiance and selection of books cannot be beat - except perhaps by Green Apple in the Inner Richmond. (They are apples and oranges though, pun intended. This space is smaller, modern and sleek, not mimicking but merely complementing their other shop. It’s equally easy to spend hours browsing, perusing, reading, and comparing notes with fellow readers here.I will say, 2/3 of the people I interacted with were wonderful! One had awesome hair like Eleven; the other was kind and easygoing, chatting with me while she carefully gift-wrapped books. The third I won’t describe, but jerks are easy to identify; if you guess who she is, don’t let her push you around. 😜

Green Apple is a treasure. So happy this place exists. They highlight lots of independent press books, have wonderful staff selections and recommendations, and the space is very inviting.

Great variety and selection of books. Well organised. Tips on books that might be of interest to particular readers. Thought provoking material to suit every type of reader and these also make very thoughtful gifts. They also have second hand books and the quality of these is such that you would not easily discern that they are not new.

Had a lovely evening attending a book tour stop of my favorite author/YouTuber. The store is very well organized and very inviting. It was set up to hold 100 people for this evening...and it was done comfortably. I usually get very anxious in small, tight, crowded settings. They managed to keep it very well organized and it made for a very enjoyable evening. Had time to browse the books, which seemed to be strategically placed to play to the crowd and the possible reads we might be interested in. I could just be crazy...but I definitely noticed a theme. 😊 I loved everything about this book store and intend on going back again. There were so many little eateries nearby..not made for a perfect date nite for me and my hubby.

This place, and its sister location, are a godsend. I was able to rediscover the magic of bookstores and reading. Endless knowledge at your disposal. Its like experiencing history in action. Theyre also very helpful, and dug up some cheaper second-hand versions of the books I was after.

A bookstore of the best type. Small, friendly, but with a wonderful selection. I found a used collectors edition book there which I have not been able to find at any large bookstore. Many of the books are used, but all are in perfect condition. Although everything seemed more expensive in San Francisco, that was not the case in this store. This is where I bought souvenirs for my friends and family; honestly, the books here were cheaper than the souvenirs in most locations.

Great bookstore. Go and support it. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. It has a hometown feel, and I love the signage in the store. They have all the newest books and plenty of children books. Be sure to check it out if you head up 9th from the park.

Went to a reading here. Staff are so nice, curation is on point and accessible. Lovely local book store.

The author talk was held in a spacious area in the back of the store. They made it easy to buy the book and speak with the book author during the signing. Also, theres an excellent selection of new books to buy. Great place for book lovers.

I love Green Apple-- the little store on 9th or the big store on Clement or that tiny branch on Mars-- it is one of the best bookstores in America and the universe at large.

One of my favorite bookstores. They have super extensive selection of books, from best sellers to classics. Staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is perfect, nice music, you can easily spend your entire morning there.

A blessing and a curse. They have great staff and selection. If they dont have something, they are happy to get it for you and the used selection is growing quickly. The only downside is that I walk past so often I spend more on their books than i should.

This place is a gem - while they lack a section devoted to new academic writing, they have everything else I could want in a bookstore. In addition to carefully curated collections of new and used books in every genre I care about (history, science, philosophy, photography, poetry, fiction, etc.), there are well-written staff recommendations and great displays full of books Id love to read.

Cute shop in a good location. Nice if you want to get away from the noise on Irving and GGP for a little bit. Didnt buy any books, but it seems like the staff really take care to pick best-sellers and staff-favorites.
