Love tandem !! I’ve been using the tandem pump for about 5 years or so and absolutely love it I’ll never switch back to another pump. I’ve never had a problem with my pump. The employees are always super helpful and amazing. I ordered supplies and had some issues with my credit card but tandem fixed it and got my supplies next day !!People can only do so much half the battle is your insurance company it’s not tandem giving you hard time.

Dealing with this company is a nightmare no less. Its a shame, because the pump is wonderful, but if you have to deal with the inevitable problems of a complex and new device, one that your life depends on, you want nothing to do with this company. Sorry.

The product is good but the tandem employees require more training. When I called tech support, the outgoing message indicated that the wait would be more than one hour. I had the option of leaving my call back number. When I did leave my phone number, the outgoind message said my call will be returned within TWENTY FOUR HOURS (24hrs)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can anyone on a pump wait for a call back without insulin for 24 hours?? What kind of customer care is this ? Is Tandem ready to pay my emergency medical bill?

Unfortunately I really wanted to like and support a local company, but alas, they have an unreliable product and a flawed system. I would not recommend using the pumps from this company.I have been a customer of Tandem for just over 3 years. In those 3 years I have gone through 4 pumps due to manufacturer malfunctions. My most recent being the worst. I was on a flight for a vacation and the Altitude alarm went off. Meaning the pump stopped working. Thank god I packed pen supplies, (sadly having an idea this pump was not going to make it through a flight from San Diego to Seattle) the pump did not work for the entire week of my trip. The customer service reps have always been nice, however the system is just flawed. Ordering supplies is also not user friendly. Most companies set you up on auto renewal, Tandem does not offer this, so it is on the customer to order their supplies. This is no problem at all, however the last 6 times I have ordered my supplies they have made human errors causing my supplies to sometimes take up to 3 weeks to be delivered. This is only handled after I have called a few times to resolve the issue, I also live in the same city these supplies are being shipped from and it still takes a week. The pump itself is nice and user friendly, however the fact that you can never silence it is a huge issue to me. BE AWARE this will make a beeping noise(s) when you are out of insulin or have not bolused in 12 hours, and there is NO way to turn that sound off, its annoying. Also due to the material this is made of, it triggers every metal detector and TSA check point I go through, so just know you will need to allow, extra extra time.I have been on pump therapy for 10 years, and have always had to have my Pen therapy very close due to the unreliable nature of the Tandem pump. This may sound like a person going on a rant, but this is also my life, they make a product that my life is dependent on.

I think I could ligitamally give Tandem Customer Support Negative Stars. My Pump stopped working and after searching for possible solutions, I called their customer service number and was put in the que. I was on hold listening to their mind numbing music from 12:30 Am until 4:30 Am when was disconnected . I called back at 7:30 AM and was put on hold AGAIN. One hour and ten min later I was connected to their support.Waiting on hold for FIVE hours does not qualify to be called customer support when dealing with a medical device your health depends upon!

I have had T1D for over 20 years. I decided to get a Tandem T-Slim x2 as my first pump since I was looking at the CGM and figured I may as well try both. Tandem was the best looking as far as size and technology goes.I have had to have the pump replaced once early on for an issue that kept coming back and required a restart that they want you to call into support to do. This happened so frequently I asked that they replace the unit. The second unit has been good for around 7 months, but now it seems to be delivering less insulin than requested but reports the full dose. I called tech support but since I had changed the infusion set and cartridge I was unable to trouble shoot with them so they refused to replace it even though I confirmed I had done most of their testing already. The company is usually good to deal with over the phone, but not always and I cant get automatic re-ordering set up. I have gone months after my doctor said they put in an order and havent seen it ship.I had what clearly looked to be a manufacturing defect in some of my infusion sets and I called it in to them to let them know several boxes appeared to have one bad tab that made the device slant before inserting the needle. They argued with me and said they hadnt heard about manufacturing defects. so instead of letting me send one in, or taking my word for it and checking that stock, the offered me an infusion set that doesnt have a spring loaded insertion device.... Not what I was looking for when I was trying to report to them that they had an issue, not that I have one.All of these companies stopped users from being able to modify their pumps for the Closed Loop modifications, then finally started doing their own closed loop research. It would have been nice to see these companies leave them open for modification, or work with the community to develop a low cost option.

The pump is great but most of the representatives should not be working in front line positions. Very poor communication skills. They keep the customer service help line so poorly covered it takes more than one hour to talk to a representative. Then the rep speaks so quickly you cant understand anything they say. Who is monitoring the calls? Poorly managed company.

There online portal was failing......When I called I was on hold 32 min then after describing my issue I was told that I need to speak to technical support and hold again or they would email me back... After a couple of hours I did recive an email that solved my issue.. I do want to mention that the customer service guy on the phone was super friendly and helpful.

The 1st Shift Supervisor for the Cartridge Assembly department, Catherine Yang, has such a big ego. She does not realize what she has been doing to her shift and the company in general. She is always firing so many employees... and then she has the nerve to feel frustrated at her team as to why they are always understaffed and why they are never making numbers and the daily goals. Catherine firing so many people is the reason why her shift is like that, she just does not realize it. The person at fault is HER. She would not need to keep training several new employees if she would just stop firing so many people already. She basically blames the new employees for why they are not making numbers and why they are behind in production. That shouldn’t really be an excuse majority of the time. Every single person in her shift knows that she lets many people go way too much, even for a simple issue that could be accommodated. She is the Supervisor, she should be able to handle situations empathetically but she doesn’t. All she cares about is herself and her own feelings. It seems like she just fires people just to feel like she’s the boss. I mean she is the boss of her shift, but a real boss, a real leader, would make things work with their employees. She is lucky California is an at will employment state, which is why she just fires people for anything, but you can tell she does it to make herself feel all superior. She’ll do anything to get it her way. I do not understand how the Production Manager Gene does not notice these traits about Cathy, but of course maybe it’s most likely because she acts differently when it comes to her boss versus her team/employees. She is not reasonable at all with the decisions she makes. Anyway, she is not a good Supervisor. She wouldn’t need to get help from other departments if she would just be able to maintain a good amount of employees and not have to fire them. And if you think that maybe it’s the employees fault, think again. Some might be their fault, but majority of the time it’s just Cathy wanting to fire someone over something that could be simply fixed or talked about, but she would rather just fire them just like that. If you work in her shift, then you would probably feel like you are working in a hostile work environment. She wouldn’t have the problems of being behind in production, being understaffed, and not being able to make the numbers and goals if she would just stop firing everybody that she thinks is an enemy or a threat and start thinking about the company for once. She really needs to start thinking about her shift and be more logical when it comes to making decisions with how her shift is being run as well as the employee issue... STOP FIRING PEOPLE CATHY. The Production Manager Gene really needs to step up too. The amount of employees getting fired and quitting because of her is not a surprise. Things really need to start changing though, otherwise Cartridge will never improve for the better.

Worked for Tandem Diabetes in the recent past. What they’re doing for patients with diabetes is a good thing, but when it comes to the production part of the company, it’s all bad. Supervisors are just terrible. The amount of employees getting fired is over the limit, as well as employees quitting because of the Supervisors or even because of the Manager himself. This company is pretty known for letting people go so fast and no chances are given to the employees at all. I’d say the manager doesn’t seem to recognize the pattern of the amount of employees getting fired. This is why the departments, specifically Cartridge Assembly, are always having problems with not having enough employees to run the lines and the machines to create the product and are always behind in production. I don’t understand why they think it’s better to fire so many employees rather than talk it out and fix a simple issue. I guess they would rather keep wasting time training new employees each time. California may be an at will employment state, but normal companies actually try to resolve the issues first... but this company, they would just fire someone in a heartbeat even over something that could be accommodated. I would say the manager needs to actually do something about this employee issue... the amount of firings is just over the top. That just shows what kind of company this is and how well management supposedly is. I wish the best for this company, but with the kind of approach the Supervisors have and the way the manager doesn’t really recognize everything, this company will continue to go down and have bad viewpoints.

Every time Ive had to call for anything, pump wont upload, which was twice. Theyve walked me thru the process, which was 45 minutes, to make sure everything was back to how it should be. Ive never experienced bad customer service, no matter what time of day or night Ive called.

Extremely unreliable service staff, they have delayed my pump supplies order twice now sending me to the urgent care for medical care after their administrative mistakes. They do not care about their customers and although their insulin pump system is “innovative” I would recommend going with Omni-Pod or Medtronic as a reliable and efficient alternative. Former Animas user, wish they were still here, they were the best in the business as far as customer service is concerned. Highly disappointed with Tandem.

Do not work here. The amount of employees that get fired is tremendous. Supervisors are not worth working under the supervision for. If you are a temp to hire, expect to still be a temp for years. You might as well get a better job that will actually hire on. The manager is really nice but he does nothing about the growth of the company, considering that if he did, there would not be so many constant firings of employees. This company is well-known for that though.

Besides gaining experience, theres nothing really there. Several employees being fired/terminated or quitting. Terrible Supervisors and Management. Worked as a Temp, and even the Permanent employees have told me theres not really any benefits of working there. All the permanent employees KNOW how bad Tandem really is, they just will not SAY. Why not? Because just like majority of the people there, they just need a job, to earn money. They really shouldnt be surprised that a lot of employees are quitting. But they also need to quit firing so many people, thats for Catherine Yang, 1st shift Supervisor. Shes terrible and arrogant.

I think that one thing a Supervisor or anyone in the workplace should have is EMPATHY, the ability to understand/share another person’s feelings, emotions, actions, etc... The 1st shift Supervisor, Catherine Yang, certainly does not have any empathy whateversoever. Her not being an empathetic person, not even a little bit, is pretty pathetic.

Working in the Cartridge department was a horrible experience. The 1st shift supervisor Catherine Yang is an arrogant one. I heard the 2nd shift supervisor is the same as well. let me tell you about this department specifically.....they are always behind in production work, the supervisors belittle you even if you are working very hard, Cathy is judgemental and only cares about the permanent employees (u can tell the difference in the way she talks or treats u), she doesn’t treat everybody equally, and the Manager seems cool but he really doesn’t do any thing about the supervisors and of course she lets many people go with no chances. Ask anybody, they’ll say she fires too many people . Actually they might just keep quiet because they don’t want to lose their position either. Honestly the only decent thing about working here are the people around u making the workplace a little better to get through every single day. Cathy honestly needs to go though, she doesn’t know how to be a good or even a decent supervisor . they won’t get anywhere with firing way too many people even within a month . My friends have even quit because they’re too tired of her ego. She isn’t worth working for .

This is a review for Tandem Diabetes in Mira Mesa San diego. Unless youre just wanting to earn some money and gain experience, I would not recommend anybody to work here. The Supervisors for Cartridge Assembly are the worst. If you wanna know what hell is like, then being under the supervision of the Cartridge Assembly Supervisors is all for you. and like the other person said, yes it’s true that they fire so many people over small things and don’t even give warnings. Warnings shouldn’t be needed but i’m Sure companies actually do talk matters through with whichever employee they have concerns with instead of letting them go instantly. also temps are there for way too long, there’s no room for promotion or to become permanent. also for Pump department, too much expectations. The Manager doesn’t seem to care much though.

This is a company who doesnt have it together. They dont follow up with insurance, doctors offices to get paperwork signed and you have to do it yourself. It took 5 months to get my pump from date of order and only got it when mine broke and insisted they move on it. I called the doctors office myself to be sure that the paperwork got signed called to arrange shipping... TCouldnt order supplies due to negligence on their part. They are completely inept and dont know how to follow thru. I have been with animas for 9 years prior and never had a problem. I only switched because after 9 years decided to try something new. Disasterous company biggest mistake ever. Dont deal with this company.
