Right between the Taco Stand and the Donut shop is a wonderful little Coffee House. From coffee to breakfast, you can find everything to get your day started right.I had a breakfast burrito that was very flavorful. No need for salsa IMO.

Went here on a fluke and the tuna fish sandwich was bomb. It was seasoned good or something. The guy taking the order kinda had a bad attitude though

Hole in the wall within walking distance of where we were staying. My my daughter loved her veggie bagel. The only downside is the seating. Upstairs with extremely steep steps. The seating is definitely not kid/stroller friendly.

Ive been frequenting this establishment for the best coffee, yes I walk past the Starbucks to get here because it is way better and I love the feel of the old coffeehouse. I started ordering more one day and found they have THE BEST Salmon Salad and Carne Asada fries. Perfection!

A surprisingly tasty neighborhood gem! There’s only a few outdoor tables, but lots of room inside and upstairs. The breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros were made fresh and were very good.

Fantastic breakfast options! Breakfast burrito and Palomas surprise with their spicy and flavorful salsa it sure makes my mornings start with joy! My wife always gets the chilaquiles with Avocado she says she knows its a simple dish she can make at home but here at Old Gallery its like family makes it for you with love and authentic Mexican flavor! I personally love their Mexican hot chocolate and my wife is huge huge fan of their Chai latte! So if you are in Downtown SD make sure to check out this amazing family owned restaurant! Believe me you wont regret it!

I attend school and have a break between classes. Often times I need a pick me up and I decided to check this little spot out, I love supporting local businesses. The woman at the front was not terribly hospitable, seeming irritated at the suggestion that I might want a coffee and bagel sandwich at 2 in the afternoon. I relented and instead got a pastrami Ruben. The Ruben was very flavorful, the sauerkraut was crisp and acidic and the sauce was terrific. The pastrami itself tasted great but had a very noticeable amount of gristle. All this very forgivable if the bread wasnt practically falling apart soggy. Saying the sandwich was hard to eat is an understatement. The fries accompanying tasted frozen and not fresh.

This is a fantastic hole in the wall. From what I can tell they have typical American fare for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner, with a variety of Mexican faves on the menu. We had breakfast burritos here around lunchtime. You can choose from sausage, bacon, or chorizo as the meat inside the burrito. I got sausage and hubs got chorizo. We agreed they were both delicious! They came with a homemade salsa thats wonderfully spicy. He enjoyed their coffee (chose one with a caramel hint to it), while I chose a Mexican Mocha. That was also spicy and delicious! The staff are really friendly and the vibe is super casual. You order at the counter, then can enjoy their ample seating upstairs.

I am a regular at Donut Bar, so I tried out this mexican cafe next door. I had a large breakfast with chorizo, eggs etc. but it did not taste good. The woman server even gave me dirty looks because I had the donut box on the table from next door.Prices are high for mediocre food and below avg. service.I was going to give 2 stars but I saw Hector, apparently the Owner, replies to reviews and makes an apparently earnest effort to correct issues; so I bumped up a star but cant recommend this place.

I will not recommend to you to go there because a cashier was very rude. She was talking to another customer behind me while she was taking my order and ignoring me.I was a tourist visitor and I felt, yes, subjectively, that she thought that I was less important possibly because I was not a regular customer.I should have walked out. I regret I did not do it. The purchased a fruit bowl was overpriced at $7.50 before tax.If you are a tourist and go there beware and be prepared for this type of reception. However, They do not deserve my business and my money.

Been enjoying this place for many years. The owners are a wonderful family and they always remember their customers. Their food is authentic --the plates arent mentioned in All-Menus, so call & ask about their fabulous dishes. Yesterday I ate their beef mole plate with rice & beans...it was fantastic! Prices are very fair especially for the great taste & quality of their food. Highly recommend eating here & hanging out.

This place is really good, I have a lot of their items. If you want tacos, I would go to the taco stand next door. However they have a large menu full of other good items that are worth while. I know from the outside the place looks small but there is a bunch of seating upstairs.

My dad and I used to work on B St. one block away from one another. He introduced me to Old Gallery & their owners in 2005. We spent the next 5 years meeting there for coffee & cookie breaks. They make the best Mexican lattes & spiced chai lattes. The coffee was always fantastic too- so much better than Starbucks! I have such fond memories of this place. I recently found a coffeeshop in downtown Philly (where I work now) that reminds me of Old Gallery - quaint, excellent coffee, with an upstairs area - though of course nothing is as wonderful as Old Gallery- a priceless gem in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. I hope all is well & look forward to stopping in on my next visit home. - Clancy & Catherine (longtime patrons of Old Gallery)

Love this little spot. I usually stop in for a quick cup of coffee and for a breakfast croissant. I really enjoy their Mexican mochas as well. The service is fast, and the people are nice and friendly. They also have great lunch options - their blt to is my go to for lunch (theyve mastered the right crisp on bacon). They even have acai bowls, and just a variety of menu items that are great (i.e. Italian soda). Plus you cant beat their prices and their portions. You order at the counter, get a number, and enjoy your food at their seating upstairs and/or the few right in front of the restaurant. If your in the downtown area and need a new place come here.
