’m very excited about my new Santa Fe Hybrid Plug-in! My salesman, Neil Isom, kept me informed and was always so quick to respond to a text, phone call and email. He’d always pick up the phone and call me back. I tried to get information from other dealerships about this car but I’d either get no response or they’d never followed up. I bought a 22 Hyundai Palisades today at Kearny Mesa Hyundai from Brook Govan and it was a great experience. The car is amazing and the service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the Sales manager, the finance person to my sales person. The new Palisades has a great new design very sexy comfortable SUV. Tim Pitts was exceptional, he went above and beyond to make sure my experience was wonderful....Unfortunately though my Hyundai which is only a year old and has around 20,000 miles on it had an issue with the battery? they did replace it at no cost to me which was great!!The biggest issue is the time ot is now taking to get an appointment to get your car fixed.... luckily I already had an appointment for an oil change but had I not they said they could not look at my car for at least 30 days even if I brought it in and sat there and I was having problems with my battery for my car couldnt start.... seems covid is making it hard for them to find enough people to help them but for me since I have 5 year bumper to bumper warranty it is only a good warranty if I can get an appointment for someone to fix my car and Hyundai says they will not let you go to a third party and pay for it so if the dealer cant take you in for 30 to 60 days youre stuck!

Disappointed with my experience with the service department. I accept their explanation that COVID-19 has reduced their service staff levels and they are barely able to stay open. They truly appeared to be a collection of one armed wall paper hangers. Just keep this in mind.

I like the complimentary waters they have at this place. They have places where you can sit down inside and they have an outside pati have an outside patio that I used to have 2 suit meetings and catch up on some school work. Everybody that I talked to was awesome and very professional

Incredible service. Brought my car in as a walk-in with an emergency issue, and informed them that another Hyundai in National City couldnt figure the issue out for 2 weeks. 3 hours after I brought the car in here, they were able to diagnose and fix the problem. A legit 6 hour turnaround. Was able to get my car that same day. HIGHLY RECCOMEND going here over Frank Hyundai in National City, where their service is worse than garbage.

Had my 2017 Elantra in for routine maintenance check. Tim was my service representative. Tim was very prompt and courteous when I pulled into the service area. I chose to wait for my service to be completed. Free coffee and bottled water were available. Tim kept me informed of what my car needed at this time, and what I could expect in in the future. It was excellent, timely service. I would definitely return for service in the future, and recommend it to others!

Our family had a great experience at Kearny Mesa Hyundai. Such a difficult time to buy a car given low inventory, but our sales consultant, Hassan Ali, made the process smooth and efficient. He was knowledgeable, and kind. No pressure at all. We were looking specifically for a mid size black SUV, hybrid, and like a miracle, he found one for us on the lot and we bought it that evening! Marco Medina, who helped us with the paperwork, was also very helpful and generous with his knowledge, despite doing paperwork until 9:30 at night. We picked up the car the next morning, and Hassan was there to greet us and give us the keys, even though it was his day off. Now that is service!

Neil was patient and very helpful. No pressure at all while he also put up with us while we were making up our minds. The back office was a bit on the slow side but overall they are very transparent, low pressure, and we are very happy dealing with them. And they dont gouge you like many other car dealers right now during the shortage. Definitely recommend giving them a try.

I usually don’t like to post reviews but this time is a little different. Well my first experience at Kearny Mesa Hyundai was not a good one I drove all the way from Palm Springs so I could purchase the vehicle that they said was available I even confirmed with the sales person before driving all the way there and just as I was taking the exit they called me and told me the vehicle was sold. I was not too thrilled about this situation because before I did the drive I was told that the vehicle was available and that was the only reason I was willing to drive all the way there. Once at the dealership I was introduced to MO he is a great salesman while talking to him he was apologetic and said they have a couple of more Hyundai Palisades Calligraphy AWD on the way and if I was willing to put deposit down then it will guarantee that once the vehicle was there at the dealership they would call me and I will have the first right to refuse to which I agreed after thinking for a few minutes because I was skeptical if this will be another waste of my time but I decided to put deposit down. With in a week MO called me and told me the vehicle was there and if I was still interested in purchasing the vehicle and I asked MO that hopefully what happens the last time won’t repeat again and he promised me that this time will be different. To my surprise the vehicle was there for me when I got there ready for delivery Mo was so helpful because I had to sell my car at Carmax before I could purchase he offered to pick me up from there once I was ready. During the financing I completely forgot that I did not have any personal checks on me he offered to drive me to the bank. MO went above and beyond what he was supposed to do. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new/pre owned vehicle. During this crazy times they are the only dealership that was offering the vehicles with no market adjustment price or any stupid dealer installed options. MO you are a great asset to this dealership.

Worst experience I’ve had. I was informed that they were very busy when I had dropped my car off on July 16th which is understandable. August 3rd I was finally notified that an inspector would be there to check if my car was eligible to be covered by warranty. It wasn’t until August 10th that I was notified that it wasn’t going to be covered. Then when I come to pick up my car it’s filthy with dirt, oil from the mechanics hands on the door handle, fuse box cover laying on the floor. I contacted the manger with no return of call. I paid close to $400 for the inspection and little to no care was shown, I will not be back.

My wife and I had a great experience finding her a new car. We told our salesman our price range and that it had to seat five. He showed us 2 vehicles that met our criteria nicely. He did not try to show us anything that might have been more expensive. He suggested we take one for a test ride and we never felt any pressure while there. The used vehicle we purchased had already been marked down and he still marked it off a little bit more. Strongly recommend Kearny Mesa Hyundai to find exactly what youre looking for.

I had the best buying experience with Alexis Werner. She was very professional and knew I was in a rush to test drive a car. She got my information ahead of time and was waiting for me in the parking lot with the keys when I drove up. After a short test drive, I knew I found my car. She was so awesome to deal with. I had been dreading this car buying process for a few months and she made it so terrific. I was in and out in 1 1/2 hours. I highly recommend Kearny Mesa Hyundai and especially Alexis. Long wait lines and poor customer service as well as overall quality of work in the service department. The service manager seems to be more concerned about taking time off and vacation days, than she is about the customers who bring their vehicles in for service. I would NOT recommend this location if you value your vehicle.

Very poor customer service droped my car off on tuesday was supposed to be a two dayservice called after the third day and they couldnt even tell me if they had looked at it or how long it would take to do a couple of recalls, went back in on friday to pick my car up after someone texted me in the morning they would be able to do the recalls untill the following week and didnt even give a ready date. Had to take uber back and forth costing me extra and had NOTHING done to the car.waited almost one whole month for an appointment would not take my car there ever again VERY DISAPPOINTED

Great service until after the sale. Purchased car online in May and it was delivered to my home (which was great). The finance department used the wrong address on the DMV paperwork, which I pointed out to Nathan at signing. He said not to worry about it. It could be corrected later and the plates would be mailed to the dealership. I questioned him on it because I knew the plates would be returned by the post office, but he insisted it would be fine and theyd take care of it. There was zero follow up after that. I reached out to Nathan and Marco in finance on multiple occasions afterward with the canned response it would get taken care of. They ended up losing the DMV paperwork and asked me to sign it again, but they sent it out again with the wrong address. Again I called Marco and he said hed get it corrected. He never did. Its been almost 5 months and my daughter just got a $220 ticket for expired registration and no license plates. I warned them that this was going to happen, but they couldnt have cared less. I feel like they got paid on the deal so there was no incentive or effort made to correct the mistake. It should have been a quick and easy fix, but now I have to spend my time to try and appeal the fine when this was easily avoidable.

I had a check engine light come on in mid-July on my Hyundai Veloster Turbo. Because of COVID and the Pandemic I was not able to get an appointment until August 10th. The light wasnt blinking so it wasnt going to be a deal breaker to wait. I received reminder emails from Hyundai which was nice, and I took the car in on the 10th of August. They were packed, so to speak. All employees’ plates were full, and I knew that it was going to be busy. I was greeted by a young woman who took my info and was completely pleasant and let me know where to pull my car and let me know that someone would be out to speak with me and take the necessary information.Within a few minutes Manuel Chinchilla an automotive service advisor, came out and greeted me – he introduced himself to me and explained the process and procedures from this point going forward. Regardless of how busy they were this guy took his time. He listened to everything I said and repeated back as he entered the notes into his iPad to make sure he was getting the information correct. He explained the entire process to me as well as the initial cost. He explained that it might take a day or two depending on the diagnostic findings. He explained how the process of getting a rental car worked (I declined because Rentals are expensive right now and even with the discount it would still be higher per day than two Uber Rides.) He did however order a Lyft for me to get back to work paid for by Hyundai. He gave me a text number that was direct to him, and he verified it when I got back to work. Within about three hours I received a text if I was available to speak (I was). He called me and let me know the issues and that it wouldn’t be ready until the next day. He let me know the findings and did I want to go forward with the repairs (I did).The next day about 10:00 AM he sent me a text and asked if I could speak (I was able to talk). He let me know my car was finished and that we could set a time to come pick up. We settled on 1:00 PM. I arrived an he met me within about 10 minutes. We went over the entire process of repairs once again just to make sure I understood what had happened and what was repaired. Upon completion of that I signed off and we took care of payment and he walked me to my car. Manuel Chinchilla was so respectful and took the time to ensure I knew what was going on. Excellent Guest Service, Kudos Hyundai for making an inconvenience comfortable with terrific service. Thanks Manuel.

This was the worst experience! If I could give them 0 stars I would! My daughter took her 2013 Sonata in for a factory recall and they would not give her a rental and forced her to leave the car for the weekend without transportation for work. I tried to call and talk to Nick the Service Provider and he would not talk to me or return my texts, even though the appointment was in my name. Then when she went to pick up her car Monday afternoon several items were missing from key ring. They had to be taken off by hand on purpose. They said they would have to look for them. Why were they even taken off in the first place? The only reason was someone was trying to steal them. She went back in to make them find the missing items. They finally found them in the glovebox of the employee shuttle van, which she was never in. I would not trust anyone at the Kearny Mesa Hyundai dealership. STAY AWAY!!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. It took 3 days to have my car diagnosed. Instead of the technician calling or texting me to provide updates, I had to call and leave messages only to not have them returned. My car was finally diagnosed on a Friday morning but I was told that the car would not be ready until Monday afternoon because the technician who diagnosed my car doesnt work weekends even though the maintenance and repair shop is open Saturdays. I was without a car for almost a week for a repair that entailed only 3 HOURS of labor, including diagnostic time. The outside handle of my front right passenger side *mysteriously* stopped working when I drove my car off the lot and a week later I found out that there was another issue with my car that was missed by the technician, so I ended up taking it to my local car shop to have it fixed. The employees and the manager were so rude and dismissive to my concerns that I felt like leaving the car in the parking lot just so that I did not have to deal with Hyundai ever again.

Unfortunately there is no zero star rating. This is my second bad experience with the Kearny Mesa Service Department in 6 weeks. Sequence of events—1. Took 3 weeks before an appointment was available to diagnose why my airbag light was on. Got an appointment to drop my car off at 7 a.m. on Friday before Labor Day. Was told because of the upcoming Labor Day holiday, could be Wednesday before getting car back if a part is needed(understandable). Quote: “We’ll call later today with a diagnosis”.2. No contact from Kearny Mesa at all on Friday. I call end of day Friday but could not reach my customer service rep (annoying but also understandable since it was the end of day).3. Tuesday after Labor Day—still no word on diagnosis of the issue. I called and left two messages with no response.4. Wednesday after Labor Day—still no word on diagnosis of the issue. I called and left another message with no response.I finally got tired of being ignored and just went to Kearny Mesa. When I arrived, learned that my car had not even been diagnosed yet, and was sent over to another lot with no estimated time for repair. I immediately took my car and scheduled an appointment with another dealer.When I picked up my car, I did not receive an explanation or an apology. I get the sense from other customers that the Service Department is understaffed for the amount of business it gets and there is now an “oh well” culture among the customer service reps. I bought a Hyundai because of the warranty and the complementary maintenance, but now tentative about recommending Hyundai to my friends because of the Service aspect. Hopefully I will have a better experience at another dealers service center.

I took my car for a 30k service and a couple of recalls. Dropped it at 6 am and went to work. I received a call with more than $700 of dealer recomended work. I declined a couple of items and it went down to $321.52 including oil change, brake fluid replacement, motor oil conditioner and engine crankcase cleaning.After a couple of days of use I noticed some stains on my driveway. It was oil and I confirmed it was coming from my car. Today I took it back to the dealer and they found some oil on the plastic cover under the engine and had to retork the oil drain plug. Good think I noticed the leak right away .They fix the problem quick and without appointment at no charge.No the best experience in my opinion. I am glad I notice the oil leak before something bad happen to my car engine.

I had an appointment booked two weeks out. I received plenty of emails and texts confirming my appointment, and that I would have a loaner car. I arrived on time, and waited in a line longer than I expected to have a service advisor start the intake process. Then I was informed they had a shortage of loaner cars, and enterprise would pick me up. Enterprise then made me pay additional money for extra coverage. On top of it, what I thought would be a simple drop off of my vehicle and drive off in a loaner, get back to home to work, turned into an hour long trip. I had a call I needed to be on and didnt expect this whole process to take so long.The dealership did discount my service and explain that people were not returning cars as expected due to additional repairs. However, the lot is full of cars. If you are a busier dealership that gets a lot of foot traffic and requires loaners often, perhaps more cars on the lot need to be converted into loaners. They still sell them after anyways, and can avoid the extra fees of working with Enterprise if they simply had more loaners on hand. If this is an ongoing issue the GM should look into this further.The staff was friendly, responsive, and communicated with me frequently. I just felt that the timeliness of the process and the fact that the plan changed really impacted my first impression of this dealership.

Its hard to enjoy dropping $35K on a new car, but Kearny Mesa Hyundai made the experience as painless as possible. The service was excellent, my salesman, Tom, was very responsive, dependable and helpful, and - so far - the product they delivered seems exactly like what I thought I was paying for. No pressure from the financing office; Pineapple was very efficient, explained things well and answered all of my questions. They didnt stock the specific car I wanted, but located it in Anaheim, and brought it down to San Diego. When I pointed out the dealers discount in Anaheim, they honored it in San Diego. Im sure theyre making a profit, but I dont blame them for that. My one big concern is that the service department seems swamped and I saw customers wait a long time to drop off cars for servicing. But Im not there yet, and thats certainly not the fault of the sales department! Overall, 5 stars for sales, and I hope to be back to buy my next car there in about 12 years.

A great car buying experience! Pete in internet sales kept me updated on when the Palisade would be available and much to my surprise it arrived 3 weeks earlier than expected. I popped in to the dealership to see if I could have a look at the Palisade on a Sunday but it was in another lot waiting to be prepped for me. Neil in internet sales offered to help me get the paperwork done so all I would have to do was come to my appointment with Pete and pick up my new Palisade. Jay N I finance was very helpful with the finance end of things, explaining my options fully. I never felt rushed or pushed into making a decision by any of these gentlemen. Pete was awesome explaining the Palisade to me when I picked it up on Tuesday. This was truly the best car buying experience I’ve had and I’ve bought several in my lifetime. I would highly recommend to anyone!!!

I received a recall notice on the ABS system for my Tucson. Called booked the appointment. I was offered a loaner car for the day but didnt need it. I dropped off the car the night before using the convenient drop box. I received a text first thing in the morning while they were checking in my car. I was asked if I would like any other service while the car was there. I was told the car would be complete in one day and about 2:00 I received a text that the car was done. When I picked up the car I was greeted nicely and escorted to my car in the front of the lot. The whole experience was excellent and prompt.

These people work hard for me. They have always gotten the job done. This is one busy service department so you have to be patient. They get you a lyft ride which is really cool. I’ve been here about six times and they are always swamped but still treat me respectfully and are honest.

We got to work with Michelle During our service appointment and I was so shocked to find out she was actually new there. She was SO helpful. Very accommodating. Clearly you could tell she cared about us getting in and out quickly and efficiently and was super nice and pleasant the whole way through. The attention to detail is lacking with the service provided to my car. Apparently the car wash broke and the my car was returned to me with even more dirt then when I took it in because there were bird droppings that were not there when I dropped off my car. Then I noticed when I was driving out of the parking lot that the steering wheel cover was damaged. I pointed the damage to the service personnel and was provided the opportunity to select a new cover but the selection was very limited and did not feel as comfortable as the one I originally had on my wheel. And to top off the three ring circus, the car still tells me it needs service. No one reset the notification my car provides when the service was completed. Over all, I received better service from Frank Hyundai, and I vowed never to return there for service.

The wait was much too long. I was told it would be about 1.5hr for an oil change service so I decided to wait. However it ended up being more than 3hr before my oil change service was completed. The dealership I bought my first Hyundai at in Indianapolis has a nice waiting room that includes chairs, sofas and desks (if you need to use one for your laptop, etc). The waiting area at this facility was basically a few chairs in a hallway. Not at all comfortable for a 3+hr wait. In addition I got no printout on the condition of my vehicle. At the previous dealership in Indy they provided a multi-page, graphical report on the condition of the tires, camber, brakes, fluids, etc. Less than satisfactory.

Recently purchased a Genesis at this dealer. I was disappointed in the amount of time that was required to purchase the car. I believe that the dealer should revamp their process/workflow to expedite the process.In detail, after filling out three forms manually showing name and address, I then had to wait for the finance guy to run credit check and do paperwork.I asked for the car to be washed for inspection, but of course they wanted to wait until my credit report came back, BTW I was paying by check.Once I got in front of the finance director, he had my address wrong (remember 3 forms I filled out with my address) so then he had to redo the paperwork. The finance director was insistent that I hear all the potential services offering that they wanted to sell such as extended warranty, paint protection, and glass and ding repair .I indicated that I did not want any of these but I had to hear hIs whole sales pitch.When I questioned why he was doing this when I said I only want the car, he said it was a legal obligation, I think that is a lie, Once I signed all papers (75 minutes after arriving), I then had to wait another 45 minutes for the car to be washed....Summary, Fix the process for those that want an expedited buying process

The only thing that was a bit negative, was that they had my car from 10am - 5:30 pm. That would normally by fine, IF THEY TOLD me it would take that long. They never said it would take all day. But the rest was great!!!The service was great!! Especially the employee Ly. He was AMAZING!!!He had such great customer service, was super nice, and super professional and thorough!! He should give a class at that location to all the other staff members on HOW to show customer service. He was truly NICE!! NOT like most people at dealerships.

Thank you so much for such a great car buying experience!! We are so happy to have our new car as we waited about four months for it due to the chip shortage. Everyone else wanted anywhere from $2,500 to $10,000 over MRSP!!!Pete took such great care of us! He kept in touch with us while we were waiting for our car to come in and let us know as soon as it was in. He even held to his word that he would sell it at MSRP…and he did!! The manager even came over to thank us for our business. What a fantastic car buying experience! The whole experience from start to finish was easy, professional, enjoyable and stress free. Pete is an informative salesman with a no pressure attitude but has all the answers to my questions, which I loved! He was patient and showed me a couple different cars before I settled on my new Santa Fe after the wonderful test drive! This car is amazing and goes above and beyond on the features and safety. Tony was fantastic and made the buying experience streamline and pleasant. He was knowledgeable and personable. I at no point felt like the team was too aggressive to make me not want to purchase a vehicle. Most dealers make it extremely difficult to price a car and try to lure you in with false discounts. This was not the case at Kearny Mesa, who made the process as comfortable as possible. The price of the car remained the price upon arrival in person. The financial team was also wonderful. Overall a great experience and would shop here again.

Had to take my car in for recall work and KMH had the best reviews out of any dealer I could find. I was not led astray. It took a little while to get an appointment because of COVID and because theyre so popular, but it was worth the 2-3 week wait. Dropped my keys off at 7:00am and my recalls, oil change, and brake flush were done by 10:30/11:00. Prices were comparable enough to my local shop that it was worth the convenience of having them do my LOF. Bonus--I got 3 free months of Sirius Radio no strings attached for coming into the dealer. Well definitely be coming back to this dealer for future warranty work and will definitely look at purchasing from them when were in the market for a new Hyundai.

Im sure the the Subaru Side of the dealership is better organized then the Genesis/Hyundai side is. Its gotta be. My Genesis G90 comes with a valet service that picks the car up , services it and returns it for free. Nice touch if it works. I had to wait 3 weeks to get in. When the car was serviced they did a nice job of it - got everything done - but they couldnt return it to me because they were short staffed and I would have to wait over the weekend to get it back. I went and got it. So.. before you get an appointment to service your car there, drive by and look at the dealership.

I can’t begin to express how happy we were with our purchase at Kearny Mesa Hyundai. The entire deal was so smooth and everyone we worked with was transparent and not pushy! The car market is crazy right now and other dealers are treating customers like trash. Not here! They treated my wife and I like family and when our one year old got fussy in the office the didn’t bat and eye. If you are looking for a new or used car this is the place. Pete is the most honest and caring sales person and Nathan was the most honest finance guy ever. He worked so hard to get us a better interest rate and didn’t try to sneak in any dealer add ins in the end.
