Took my car in to get the deck speakers replaced. They had it done in a few hours, but somehow lost the key in the process. Luckily I had a spare key and Jacob said they would be more than happy to reimburse me for the cost of a new key. Speakers sound great, they handled the situation in a somewhat professional manner, and gave me back more than the cost of a new key. Nevertheless I expect a business that works on cars to keep track of the thing you need to start one.

Adrian was very helpful from the beginning and showing me examples of his previous work and his loyal customer of 12 years also reassured me he was a good guy, helped me get a new stereo system, speakers, Amp, tint my entire car and Back up Camera. Unfortunately human error is a thing and they forgot to install the back up Camera so Ill be heading back at a later time. Overall good customer service and helped me decide what I wanted out of my experience. Slightly pricey but I believe you get what you pay for and the tint so far is doing great audio system is also doing phenomenal.

Made an appointment the day before and showed up 30 minutes early the next morning. First guy showed up late and asked what I needed. I explained I had an appointment for a push to start and a new stereo system. I guess he thought I didnt have money because I brought a Tacoma that I bought brand new in 1995 that Im restoring. After I told him he said to wait and took the next guys complete system order. I was ready to spend twice what that guy was but its OK. Ill give it to another shop.Finally got seen and was told the alarm tech was no in today so I cant get the push start. I said OK what about the system? I wanted tk get a full system with amp and sub. Came out with a decent stereo and speakers and when I asked to test it out before leaving they said we only have iPhone. that was the last straw. I said let me out, Ill figure it out myself.Go to the guys south of them. They are much more professional.

Look no further this is where youll find the best deal. Would give more starts if possible. The staff is honest and will find you the best possible deal that fits your needs.

Came here a few years ago and got my windows tinted. It was just under two years and my tint started to bubble. So with my warranty I came back to see what they could do for me. Had me bring my car down to look at it... and out of left field they told me that my warranty was voided and I would be charged to have it replaced. I do not recommend this place to anyone they are not good to there word. I ended up getting it done at a better spot for less.

OK, this is an absolute 5 star place. Ask for Carlos if you can.I have a 2001 Ford F250, original radio. Time to get it replaced just to get Bluetooth and other modern amenities.They will NOT try and oversell you. No pitch to install speakers, an amp, or other things. Im old, but knowledgeable and admit I asked if the speakers were fine, he said they are. Cool!On pickup, the installation looks great! I asked for a backup camera and its integrates perfectly. Sounds phenomenal!Sooo, Im taking back my pusher motor home to have the TomTom radio (which sucks!), replaced too.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

These guys did a nice job upgrading my stock stereo. They made lots of suggestions and were very helpful. I needed a small location change and they took care of it while I waited. They carry Alpine, infinity, pioneer, and several other quality brands. They also offer window tinting, and other services. Considering how flaky some shops can be, I am happy to recommend these guys.

These guys can build a pretty decent custom box! I do most of my car audio myself as it is a hobby of mine but, from recently moving (tools boxed up) I decided to have them build me a box about 6 years ago. Well, now I have returned for the exact same reason, just a newer Tahoe and once again, they have impressed me. The ported box fit perfectly and the sound quality was even more than expected. Ill be back soon since Ive just purchased another vehicle and can trust their work!

4/5/2017I have had these guys install most of the technical work to my car. For example my dual battery hook up which was a bit of work. I most recently had to have my front headlights replaced for the third time. At no fault of theirs. Each and every time it has been absolutely no hassle. Even if they are backed up they will still fit me in to switch them out.I know how to work on my car rather well. And could easily purchase these items and install myself. I continue to return because the level of service. From the salesman in the showroom to the installers in the shop. Everyone has treated me with a welcoming attitude every single time. This has gone on for the past three years.With out a doubt I highly recommend Stereo Depot from the work they have done on my car.

Their quality of work is terrible. I asked them to install 3 pairs of speakers. They charged me $300. And the work was very sloppy. They even took the wires and grills that came with speakers. They put in a cheaper brand of wire and the splicing looks like a kid did it with his teeth. It may fall apart at any moment. They smile in your face but they are terrible at what they do. Any good review of these guys has to be fake. I will never take my car back to these guys.

BEST ! in San DiegoSome teens have been breaking into the cars on my street, so I went searching for an alarm. Stereo Depot at 6445 El Cajon Blvd. took me in without an appointment and hooked me up ! Within 2 hours my new alarm was installed. The experience was completely hassle free and easy as pie. Eddie the Manager even fixed and replaced one of my door button sensors at NO CHARGE, and changed the LED light from Red to a more visible Blue as per my request. It was no problem at all ! It was easy for me to see that he understood my concerns with the alarm working at 100% and being visible at night.I HIGHLY Recommend this shop to everyone!

Went in today to get an RCA cable for my home audio system. I had great customer service first and foremost. The cost of the 7 ft. cord was $10. I only had a $20 bill and five 1 dollar bills on me. He couldnt break a 20 so he asked for the 5 dollars instead. What a great experience! Such a nice gesture. Later on I plugged in the RCA cable to connect my subwoofer to the reciever and it sounds great. I recommend these guys for great customer service and great quality products. Thanks.

The main salesman at the La Mesa location is nothing but a fast talker trying to sell products. They use cheap wiring and they don’t care about quality just quantity. Products installed in my tundra that you don’t see were just thrown inside. Terrible work. Don’t go there.

Ever since my first purchase this has been only place I have been going too. From my 2006 charger had a double din 2 12 subs and alarm package installed. Then to my new 2016 challenger had 2 10 subs some speakers and viper alarm installed. They even threw the window tint in free and this was the first week i bought my vehicle in march 2016. Car installation took longer then expected that time. So they let me use their loaner vehicle until it was complete. Their customer service is the best hands down. Its now 2017 thinking about having my system moved to a 2017 Charger after my trade in.BIG JOHN IS THE MAN TO TAKE CARE OF YOU.

Came in at 2pm to get window tint and a new stereo (no speakers or anything fancy just head unit). I told them I needed to pick my wife up from work at 4 and they said they would be done with the stereo by 4 and I could bring the car back for them to finish with the tint. I was able to get a ride so they could do everything with no interruptions and 4 hours later im still waiting for them to even start the tint, which means 4 hours for a simple stereo job! They close at 7 and I dont think Im getting my windows tinted.My advise: go somewhere else no matter what face they put on. After you pay your just another sale.

Friendly staff, who really listened to what we came in for. Then, they surprised us with what we could actually get for a really decent price. OK, so that’s just good salesmanship, but hey, it brought our 2001 and 2002 vehicles into 21st Century technology. Husband and I are absoloutely thrilled with our new Pioneer with Apple CarPlay Radio, equipped with a back-up camera unit. We came in Wednesday afternoon, brought both cars back on Thursday, got everything installed and on our way home by Friday Noon. Can’t ask for quicker service than that, and for two vehicles! Bought an amp and speaker and vox $255. Didnt like it so the next day I want take the speaker and box back. No refunds what so ever! So store credit of $130 great! Traded me an 90$ car stereo I didnt need or want. Couldnt even sell it on craiglist for $80. I got $60 for it. Tell your customers no returns no matter what before they but. Small print is dishonest! So sick of getting ripped off!

They gave me cheap window tin it quote price over the phone but when I got there they change it from $129 to $179 n took long good 5hrs, the price might be good but theyre not fast. So I rate them Minue Star cause they said it was gonna take 1 n half hr but took forever. I had to miss my little cousin high school basket game. 😢. M not coming back again. Audioheavestereo might be expensive but they get the job done quick.

I called a few places for quotes on a new CD player and got the best deal over the phone at Stereo Depot. They were also the closest, so I drove about 5 mins and looked at what they had to offer. I couldnt afford much, my tape deck finally died and the antique needed to go. I lamented my car troubles on a students budget, and they hooked me up with a deal on a nice new stereo. In about 45 minutes I was bumping tunes. It sounds a million times better than the aux cable running from a tape deck. Thanks guys!

I went to the El Cajon Blvd. store to purchase a stereo that they advertised in the SD Reader. The add reads Free Installation on any stereo purchased at Stereo Depot however John the sales guy informed me that the add was wrong and the stereo that is in the add is no longer available. However a new model was available and would honer the same price of $139.00 but I need to pay for installation and kit that brought the price to $328.00 ..... The install took over 3 hrs and I still had to go back because they forgot to put a by-switch in that cost additional $40.00. On my second trip for a simple 5 minute job I was there for over 2 hrs. Bringing my grand total to 368.00. Rip offs and false advertisers!!!!!

I just want to give my .02 on Stereo Depot, so here it goes.These guys have taken care of me since November of 2011. I first went there to get a new head unit installed. I knew what I wanted and they special ordered it and got it the same day for me. They didnt try to sell me what I didnt want. A week or so later I wanted to add some thump and I had an idea about the sub and amp setup that I wanted and they upgraded me for a great deal. Because of their service I went back again for a viper remote start alarm. After one of my head lights went out I checked them out and they hooked it up with HIDs which I love. Theyre not too purple or blue, theyre just right. Every time I walk into the store, Im treated with respect and they give me exactly what I am looking for. If you want top notch service, go talk to these guys. Ive purchased everything from them not only because of the great deals they give me but more so because they treat me like a friend more than a paycheck. I recommend them to every last one of you. I wrote a previous review that wasnt fair to Stereo Depot. I wish to write a more factual review that is fair and hopefully helpful to anyone else. I made my past review in a negative state of mind and wish to resubmit a better review.Also, Id like to apologize to Stereo Depot for allowing my frustration and disappointment to be vented instead of talking about my issues and giving Stereo Depot a chance to make it right. Im sorry.I went in about 2-3 weeks ago to get a stereo and ended up learning that my stock speakers were shot, and others were failing. John sat with me, and helped me choose an appropriate set of speakers, and even introduced me to Snap Financial which allowed me to get the speakers before pay day; which I shouldn mention I have just paid off yesterday, but I had the option to make payments.I was shown different speaker options, educated on the use of amplifiers and the difference they make. I was also shown different receiver options when I choose to upgrade, and how I could possibly even have hands free communication.Ultimately I decided on a set of speaker; sure I could afford much more expensive ones, but I wasnt forced to buy them or made to feel bad for not wanting to spend more than I felt comfortable. In fact, I was congratulated on my choice because my needs were a system and not something fancy.I did shop around afterwards both online, and other car audio place and as far as pricing, I couldnt find anything better. Also important to note that other shops I visited were aggressive with their up selling, and one shop even trash talked me for not going to them first.In closing, I originally told myself I wouldnt return, but after sitting down with John himself and being shown how to use my stereo, along with my other issues, my confidence in Stereo Depot is restored and I do see my self coming back for an amplifier, car alarm, GPS, even possibly wheels and tires one.Thank you John, thank you technicians who gave my car music after 4 years of being mute, and t hank you Stereo Depot. Showed up to have a kenwood system (already owned) just installed into my car on my birthday weekend, was givin quote and told was a couple cars ahead of me, understood. Note I dropped the car off 45 mins maybe an 1 into opening of the store so the car was there basically all day, only 2 hours till closing they call me and tell me there was gonna be extra labor that they wouldnt charge me for due to the fact they never started work on my car. They insisted they were giving me the best price while setting me a new appointment, never followed up on the appointment or cared they completely wasted one of my only days off from work. So I took it to a better audio store got it done same day and for less than they insisted was the best price around. In just a couple hours drove away happy, funny installer use to work for these guys.. wonder why he left???.

I spoke with Allen for a quote on an install for my car. When arriving at the store I worked with Carlos. I had then install a custom box in a crew cab colorado with 2 rockford shallow 10s and a p500 2 channel amp. The job took 4 hours which is what i guestimated it would be. I purchase 4 guage wiring and a bass gain controller as well as a hi low converter for the amp. All the people I spoke with were professional, polite, and informative. Of course while waiting I was able to observe how they handled each encounter from young men to older gentlemen to upset customers and making it right on the spot. The only recommendation i make is to the people before they come in.. do your homework on what you would like installed and then these guys can steer you in the right direction for the build of your car.. and dont forget quality comes at a price.

I was told by the larger guy (forget his name drives a honda accord) that i will get free instalation and also free equiptment because i was buying so much at once. Turns out he lied and charged me with items i was only getting because he said they would be free. I got charged for stuff that would be (free) and got charged in full for all installation. Three. Thousand. Dollars they sharked from me

Decent price but horrible installation of both stero and alarm system. They out screws in the door panel after asked not to. Cut the vacuum system for the door locks and affected the entire vacuum system in our car. Bypassed the stock stero speaker fader. Took the car back 4 times and still cant get the alarm to work properly.
