San Diego (Barrio Logan), California.Eatery Type: Convenient Store.Service: Good. Welcoming. The staff has limited English communication abilities but it wont be from a lack of effort. Homie was hospitable even though it is common to be alienated from an outsider into an intimate (not intimidating) ethnic barrio. If you are not used to the barrio then there is no need to venture here. I grew up around vatos so this environment is fine. I even sat outside to people watch while eating my bubble gum paleta.Estimate Cost: Varies since they sell many merchandise. Mostly dulce with a small section for helados/paletas.Hours: Unknown but I wouldnt come here at night just to buy packaged goods available at any Mexican market, which are in abundance.Décor: Clean & subtle. It does not resemble Tijuana or other Mexican cultural hubs.Dining Comfort: There is a bench and coffee table in front. The seats are small and comfy.Location: In the heart of Barrio Logan (Heights). This is not the safest community. On Logan/South Evans adjacent to I-5 and parallel to the Coronado Bridge (Hwy 75).Dont get lost.Parking: Street parking only. Expect to walk & dont mind the cars in the middle lane, waiting for whatever or just parking there cause theres no space. Also expect loud music ranging from hip hop to mariachi.Food Genre/Specialty: This is a candy shop. I wanted a Paleta & all the ice cream shops were too crowded w/ lines out the door in this 110 degree monster so I stumbled upon this candy shop. They dont make Paletas & just buy them packaged from a certain brand at $3 each (which is really expensive). Conclusion: I like the ethos & environment of the candy shop. Will support them whenever Im in barrio logan.Travel safely my friends.@cigarcpa
