Was recommended by a friend. I had the Godfather. Hands down one of the best sandwiches ever. Super cool crew. My wife had a veggie melt and my daughter had the chicken. They were very impressed.

I highly recommend trying the “Godfather“ sandwich. Very tasty with a generous pile of meat. I stopped in for lunch the other day and they were busy, but still very quick getting my order out. Great place for lunch or dinner.

This deli in fact does have the cheers t show nostalgic feel to it. Stepping in feels that nostalgic 80s touch to it, the sandwiches are thick and amazing- but my favorite part is the service. The employees arent your basic cranky teenage subway servers, these adults are proud of their jobs. Theyre mothers, fathers, grandparents. The sandwiches taste like their made from home and are handled with care. This deli is a hidden gem of San Diego.

I came upon this place 12 years ago while I was in Grossmont College studying Catering Management. We had to write a business plan and do a restaurant comparison. This place isnt close, but we had business in the Keils shopping center at Navajo and Jackson. I have heard bad stories from friends who went to an obscure deli. As soon as I walked into the liquor store, there are three employees in the deli! So, everything I had heard was true-- amazing place which has had a line out the door at lunch time and they stay busy enough so I feel safe about eating there. The rest is a given. I dont know how many times I could come here before I have tried all the many kinds of sandwiches they have.

AFTER BEING A GOOD CUSTOMER OF THIS PLACE SINCE 1992 I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE STAFF AS WELL AS THEIR SO CALLED ITALIAN STYLE SANDWICHS...THIS WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE CURRENT STAFF AS WELL AS THE CASHIER WHO SEEMED TO ENJOY BEING ABOUNCER RATHER THAN A CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM MEMBER!!!! I GOT THE FEELING OF GET IN, BUY, AND GET OUT!!! PLUS MY ORDER WAS NOT CORRECT TO BOOT!! I WILL NEVET RETURN, NOT TO MENTION THEIR STUPID NEW COVID CHARGE OF 1$ PLUS THE REGULAR OVERINFLATED COST OF NOT SO GREAT SANDWICH...I WILL NEVER RETURN!!!

A true hidden local gem! Not only do they make perfect sandwiches and have literally anything you could possibly want, the people are amazing. They make you feel at home in a way that is super rare these days. Love this place!

This is where I go to get my beer, and occasionally a sandwich. Its a great little place with friendly service and a good selection of both liquor and quality food. I only wish the sandwiches were a little less expensive.

Their sandwiches are awesome! The variety of bread and meats and cheeses allows an unlimited combination. They will have specials and the menu board offers a great selection. Turkey & ham on sourdough or roast beef on a hoagie roll, you cant go wrong. Since the are open later a good place for a dinner on the go.

Tasty sandwiches and surpringly good gyros. Nice selection of different beverages. Has items I dont find at BevMo. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and makes good recommendations if you ask for their opinion. Not a large shop, but crammed full of selections. Parking and access is easy.

BBQ ham was top of the line! Great stuff. Just got the chainsaw and cant wait to try it out as well.

What a great find! My sister lives in the neighborhood and has been coming here for years. Shes often mentioned what great sandwiches they have, and that she likes to order one to take to the beach. But I would never have guessed that this place next to Keils grocery store was that deli. It just looks like a liquor store from the outside. Until you notice the tables on the sidewalk. The menu is extensive, the sandwiches are big and loaded with ingredients. I loved the service. My sis and I decided to split a BLAT - bacon, lettuce, avocado, and turkey sandwich. The sandwiches come with a side. The server asked if we wanted to order an extra side. Then they put each half-sandwich and side in separate baskets, wrapped in a plastic bags. So nice!The location is very close to Cowles Mountain. This would be a perfect spot for hikers to refresh themselves after their climb up the mountain.
