The in-store shopping experience is good, though I’ve had several curbside orders canceled due to inventory issues (website stock does not reflect what’s actually in store)

Lets just say nobody is really in the mood to talk or be friendly. The majority of the time when I come in here theres always a fight being broken out because someone isnt wearing their masks. I wouldnt even count on anybody giving me direction of where to find anything because the last time I did ask someone she was watching me as if I was going to steal something and I was carrying a clutch purse.

Service is always hit or miss but most of the team seems to want to help. Inventory is also hit or miss depending on the item and day of the week. However, prices are generally much lower than a local hardware store. I usually am now just doing curbside pickup to make sure that they have what I need...

Great store, in a convenient location. I recommend using the mobile app as it tells you if things are in stock in your local store and the Aisle/Bay where they are located, and even the location within a store map. Another great service I have been using during the Pandemic is the “curb pickup”. I would order online and usually get a text within 30Minutes indicating the order is ready for pickup. I would then drive to the store, open the app and tell the curb pickup spot I am on, and my order will be brought to me pretty quickly (no more waiting in line). The mobile app is even better if you have an Pro Xtra account as it provides a virtual copy of the receipt that makes returns a Breeze! Best Mobile experience from all brick and mortar retailers I have seen so far! Kudos to their IT team, you guys make shopping a delightful experience. Please keep innovating! Javier

I usually find what I need but the staff has always directed me to someone else if I want to find something specific. If you go often I recommend downloading the app and planning what you need to grab ahead if youre unsure.

For some unfortunate personal reasons Ive come to this Home Depot for so many times that its becoming just Home... Today is one of my most desperate days and this store once again saved me. The staff are very patient and knowledgeable. Jose at Appliance offered me more than just his professional experience throughout the day - he reached out to me in heart and helped me with pure kindness. Its gold and I literally can only thank with tears...

The HD in EPA has a more limited product line stockthan other HDs (For example, compared to the one in San Carlos), and sometimes when the website says they have something in stock, the employes cant find it.Also, their free Internet doesnt work, and the cellphone reception is bad, id you have some coupons or you need to check online, no luck.They have some room for improvement...

Great to have a place where you can get almost anything. Needed to rivet a ballast to a fixture. Found my first rivet gun kit here. Worked flawlessly and conveniently packaged for a beginner. Countless screws, rolls of tape and the like purchased here. Good outdoor garden section here but youll have to go somewhere else for pots more than two feet in diameter. Nice selection of plants including succulents.

Its nice and you can find everything you need here for most of your projects! I was here to buy ooutside Christmas decoration

My husband and I had the most terrible experience with an employee named Paolo this guy had the most disgusting attitude that I ever thought a person could have. Is really sad that a such as good store like home depot in San Carlos hired people like that.

Generally happy with my most recent Home Depot experience (purchase of Water Heater), but beware of using the advertised Installers as I had a very poor experience. They showed up the next day but the tech was more of a sales person than a plumber. He proceeded to speak doom and gloom about my current setup and quoted all kinds of extras that I needed including the replacement of the main shutoff valve to the house which he claimed was frozen. Upon inspection, it was very easy to turn and functioned properly (he acted surprised). The entire time I felt I was getting scammed.Proof in the pudding: I immediately called a local plumber and had it installed the SAME day for one-third the Home Depot installers quoted price.

This afternoon (8-19-20), I witnessed one of the best handling of a growing tense situation between an irate customer and a Home Depot rep.The customer was trying to return a damaged garden hose that he claimed almost injured him. He was demanding a full refund. The HD rep was trying to explain that she could not obliged his request. Yet, she would seek out her manager to help resolve the situation.Along cane her manager, “Gul”. The customer proceeded to complain more! Gul acknowledged the customer’s frustration, as well as verbalized that he and corporate were aware of the multiple returns of that product. Yet, could not provide a refund. Whereas he could offer a same price discount off the purchase of any item.The customer then raised his voice saying he did not want to buy another hose. To which Gul replied calmly saying he didn’t say he had to. The customer then asked to speak to the manager. Gul identified himself as the manager, The customer paused for a second. Gul calmly and professionally reiterated the offer.Finally, the customer replied, realizing Gul was compensating him in a different way. The customer regained what little dignity he had left and agreed with Gul.Kudos to Gul for remaining cool, calm, collected, and professional despite the rude and belligerent behavior for which he was subjected.I’ve seen managers “fight fire with fire”or display a similar attitude as the customer. Yet, Gul did He maintained control of a hostile situation that could have been worse.Gul displayed Awesome customer service! I can see him teaching a course / class for on how to maintain composure and professionalism in a / during a hostile situation.Kudos to HD for a great hire!!

Home Depot almost always has whatever I need at reasonable prices. I usually try them first when I am shopping for building materials or tools.

This Home Depot is just your average Home Depot, but largely on the lower side. I use this place because it is the only and closest to where I live. Very often you will see merchandise on display either broken or boxes crumpled. It is very difficult to have staff helping you find things. Doesnt also feel like theres not enough staff around so not sure why this branch is not run better. Thanks to COVID, I do think sales should be up as people invest in their homes but in all other conditions, I would expect this place to go out of business sooner or later.

They Always have what I need! Seriously! And, ok, admittedly so, that my frequent flyer miles with them arent extremely high, but when I/we need something, like at least once a month, we get what we expected!Our merchandise of necessitiy to be on hand and available.And again I must add, that larger projects (fortunately in our case), have been on the lower number scale the last five years, ( we purchased our modest accommodations, a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath as a non-fixer upper unit, and got lucky so far)!But anyhow: Paint for in or outdoor walls, kitchen surfaces , shower and or toilet hardware, the occasional drilling and touch up, insecticides, garden fertilizer, flashlights, smaller things, have plentyful been available.Even the unfortunate uncoming of the Covid19 situation hasnt changed this fact!Always friendly, knowledgeable staff, no matter how busy they are helping other customers, tend to our needs in a timely manner. Even those waiting lines move quick, now longer these days since everybody became Bob the Builder with (to much) time on their hands, searching to build the ultimate time machine, or just a long planned tree house for the kids, that are now teenagers. Hey, a tree house is still fun!I have always found my experience with Home Depot to be very satisfying and of course productive, at very reasonable prices!Keep those happy thumbs up!!!!

I had not trouble finding what I needed and, since I was in a hurry, did ask for a bit of help. People were nice and I was in and out in a jiffy.

This store is conveniently located (near San Carlos downtown and US 101) abd has all the materials and tools that I need for my DIY home improvement projects.

App said they had product in stock (3 available). On arrival, worker says the app is not accurate. Drove over 45 min to this location since this was the only location the app said it was available. Only advise from worker… Drive to Colma location where they have the product in stock… or will they?

This is one of the best Home Depots in the Bay Area hands down. Its well stocked and spacious. The staff is great compared to the other Home Depots (which sadly, isnt saying that much). The aisles are even a bit wider than some other Home Depots which is especially nice in times of social distancing. Bottom line, its still a Home Depot... but definitely one of the better ran locations in the Bay.

Grateful for the many staff around who all tried to be helpful, great for people who are home improvement novices!

Considering this is the only home improvement/ hardware store in San Carlos, it has everything to address home improvement needs. The staff is pretty helpful. Im liking the new products Home Depot now carries both in the store and online. Theyre in store pickup area was recently expanded. They also have pick up lockers for the smaller purchases so you dont have to wait in line. They moved the recycling bin for florescent lights to the entrance to make it easier for everyone.

The garden department had the plants I was looking for. The customer service was cheery and helpful thanks to Leonida! The transaction was prompt and brisk.👍😀

Just went in there to get pricing of a certain item only to be greeted by the worst attitude and when I ask for a manager Ms. Is like Im the manager wow . Good luck in life thats why youre stuck managing a home Depot.

This rating is not about the actual custom service we received from Erica or Donald. They both deserve 5 stars! The rating is because it’s taken over 2 hours each time I’ve gone into the stores to order my closets. I got a call once my measurements were done and told to come in any time and then I got there and no one from that department was even there. I was then informed to come Monday-Wednesday. So that would’ve been nice to know.Donald is absolutely to sweetest and took good care of us after waiting 20 min for someone to help us.Erica jumped in to help everyone including us and was really great to work with.We also went in the first time and one of the employees sat there with no mask on and then he was distracting the closet team and we were there for 2 hours waiting! It was extremely agitating and stupid!

Solid place for basic home improvement items; staff often very thin on the ground, so expect to have to search vigorously for help... when they are available, the staff are generally helpful. (Given the understaffing, best to go at low volume times :-)

Only recycles CFL not fluorescent tubes.

Lots of supplies, but they dont have everything. Buy in bulk at good prices. Workers are mostly helpful, some are new and dont know too much.

Definitely more staff than Ive ever seen before! didnt get the help i needed from the customer service desk unfortunately, but had a great experience with someone from the pro desk area. turned out my item was on the top shelf and needed a fork lift which he arranged. saw another staff member walking by, asking people if they needed help which is great to see! also love the variety of vegetables and herbs. rare hot peppers like carolina reaper, nice!

Great home improvement store

Make sure you know what youre doing when you going to the store because it seems like all the employees do not know what theyre doing very hard to find help and when you do theyre always in the wrong department.

Its got everything, and return policy is great, but shopping here supports the Republicans.

Very poor stock control at this store. If it is a popular item the bin will be empty too many times. Prices are good but frustration level is high.

Needed paint for my daughters room. All great up until we were paying. All questions answered great employees. The person helping my wife pay made her angry because she didnt have good manners by telling my wife harshly sign here and my wife said to her sign here please softly to show the teller to be kind and polite. I have owned many businesses and talking to my employees I explain the customer the client is the boss, because they bring the money. The boss only distributes the money. Anyway she may have had a bad day.

Home Depot. If it wasnt for the deep discounts & the occasional exclusive to you products, Id be shopping at Ace Hardware, Lowes, OSH, Harbor Freight, Grainger...... Well, just anywhere else. The lack of customer service I was expecting. The fact that I would have three employees completely disrespect me.... expected (sadly). The few customers that I had a chance to talk to about this were not surprised that I was having this experience & suggested that I speak to customer service as they are usually helpful. I have to stop here & give credit to the young man in power tools who went above and beyond to help me with a price discrepancy I was having. Opened up the app & there was the solution to my discrepancy.So, it was just a little bit more of a crudhole experience than usual & I have more, but Im tired & agitated. And yes, it didnt get any better. Just expected.

Got what I wanted

I ordered the shelves that I needed from HomeDepot.com and the process was very easy. They sent me text to inform me that my order was ready. I drove to the store, then clicked on a link to notify them that I was there. They delivered my shelves to my truck in 10 minutes. It was awesome.

Customer service not that good

Indoor plants section limited and not well cared for. Lots of aisles blocked off so couldn’t find things I needed.

Every section you go and want to talk to an staff, you have to wait for a long time. They have the worst customer service. Lowes is much better, at least in this case.In delivering appliances, both of them are very bad.

My regular Depot, great spot. Pro desk is the best, staff in the rest of the store are pretty basic.

They are doing a good job of getting people in and out in the Redwood City location. Line waits are about 10 min.If you go to the Palo Alto Home Depot you dont have to wait in lines to get in. Every city has different rules.. Masks required for entry to all locations..

Didnt have what I needed which was okay the people seemed a little confused in regards to where things were located and that was a little frustrating but normally get very good service. Probably just the times were living in today.

Rude employees told me to back off from getting parts myself. I stood waiting for help after asking multiple times well be right with you they finally stop talking to each other and when I ask for the part I needed they tell me I dont know what Im talking about. I finally walked down the isle myself and found the items I needed but was yelled at because youre not allowed to be in that area.

For a big chain store it has a homey atmosphere to me. The staff is good for the most part there are some that are clueless but most are willing to help. Theres a young guy in garden Mike I think man that guy is on top of things seek him out he works garden but seems to know the store

I cant blame home Depot for every single department going wrong. Its always people that want the money but dont t to do ANYTHING! I do want to thank Michelle in customer service she did a great job helping me. I want to thank Larry for helping me with an order that went wrong. Thank you to Eric that made sure everything went smoothly on my delivery.

I get lost in this place every aisle theres something that I want something that I need and something that I like if I bought all three Id have the whole store in my pocket. Great place to buy almost anything you need as far as tools and supplies go.

When I couldnt find an item, one of the store support personnel actually came up and asked me if he could help. he recognized what I was looking for, and led me directly to the point where it was. He also pointed out that I needed one other item. And told me where to find that.

San Carlos store is run much better than the San Mateo store that is closer to me. They have better trained people and overall have their act together.

Lots of stuff, staff, and stiff wood that can be used in projects. All of these things are great and are available to buy at Home Depot
