I left my car to receive a complete inspection due to lights going off in my dash. After calling and being placed on hold many times, they ended up telling me the only thing that was wrong with my car was something I had already mentioned was malfunctioning, so they didn’t even do the complete inspection. Then they asked if I they had my approval to do a complete inspection, even though that is what I had brought my car in to do. By now, my car had been in the dealership for 3 days and I had not had any transportation. After a few days, I had to call since I hadn’t received any notice of what was wrong with my car and they told me my dealer was off that day and that they would send me the paperwork later on. Only then did they start doing service on my car and once again I had to call to “approve” since they had misplaced my email of me approving. Once again, I had to be the one to call and ask if my car was done or not. I did not have a good experience with this dealership. They did not communicate effectively or keep me in the loop, leaving me without transportation for over a week when I just needed a simple inspection and change of one part which I was told would take up to 4 days.UPDATE: My car stopped working 3 days after it had gotten serviced. They had told me they did a complete inspection on my car and the problem with my car was due to either my battery malfunctioning or my ABS speed sensor malfunctioning. After the initial diagnostic, they told me it was my ABS speed sensor, which I paid to replace. Once I had already paid to replace my ABS speed sensor due to them telling me that was the issue and I got my car back, my car stopped turning on completely. It turns out my battery was in really bad condition. Therefore, they completely misdiagnosed my car, probably didn’t test my battery & made me pay to fix something that wasn’t the core issue. I also called to let them know of my car not working and they left me on hold for 2 hours & got no help from them to fix it. Once again, terrible customer service & terrible work done on my vehicle.

We started our shopping for a new car on May 3, 2021, by using TrueCar. Shortly after submitting my request, Terri W., salesperson, reached out to me via email and text. I shared what we wanted as far as color and trim and Terri started sharing pictures and videos of what they had. Mind you, we live 4 hours away, yet she didn’t give up on us. We finally closed on our dream car on May 29, 2021. Terri was there through the entire process, multiple calls and text messages. She had our car ready to drive off the lot as promised when we arrived. Best experience ever!

We brought our VW Passat in for oil change and AC check, but diagnosis was longer than expected. We had to pick up the car after the oil change for use for school, work, and to attend a family funeral. This morning we found a driveway full of oil as it appears the drain plug was not installed properly. Ive contacted VW of Alamo Heights and requested they arrange for towing and repair, as well as a loaner or rental for use at their expense. Ill update this review after the service center contacts me for resolve.UPDATE: 10-19-21 – VW promptly addressed the initial issues above, and after a few other missteps VW continued working to resolve... so give them credit for following through. There is also the need to recognize the state of the today’s undermanned workforce across many service-oriented establishments. Most areas are still not fully staffed, yet high demand remains. Give service teams in all areas of business a break and appreciate that they are willing to work. VW went the distance to make things right and in todays world, that means quite a bit.

We’re moving out of the area, but I’ve always loved this dealership. We’ve been coming here for years and we’re always treated extremely well. The customer service is excellent, we seldom have to wait extra time for parts, and they have been able to diagnose the car based on my description in the past. This time, I worked with Rodney, and he was absolutely fantastic.When you take a car to a dealership, you’re taking it to experts who are incredibly familiar with your vehicle. The premium price is repaid with fast turnaround and reliable installation and repairs.If you only have one car, the dealership offers a shuttle service to get you home and pick you! I’m so glad we found a place that will make our old VW keep running for a long time :)

Very nice! Was in and out quicker than I expected to get some service done on my car. Everyone was nice and the receptionist that checked me in even kept me updated on when my car would be done and when he left for lunch to let me know someone else would be checking me out. They even gave my car a quick wash and I think vacuumed my floor too and I all I got done was an airbag replacement. Very happy with the service and customer service!

My wife and I started our search for our Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport on May 3. We live 4 hours away from San Antonio, but Terri reached out to me as soon as I asked for information. I purchased a brand new Taos from this dealership. It hadnt arrived on their lot yet when I purchased it, and they told me it will be here the following Tuesday. I signed all the paperwork and started insurance on my new car, expecting it would be here that Tuesday. It has now been over 2 weeks, and it is still not here. They tell me its shipping delays and they havent gotten an email back from the corrier. When I ask for an update, they just say well keep you posted... its been over 2 weeks!! Makes me feel like there is a lack of care when they cant give me a straight answer as to when my new car is going to be here. Make sure if youre purchasing a car, that you can drive away that day.UPDATE:Very happy with the outcome. The Taos came in, and ended up having a slight mechanical issue that can happen in new models. The dealership had it towed in that day and got to work on it. I expressed my concerns about staying in the Taos after the issue, and they gladly figured out what they could do on their end. They switched me to a vehicle that I am VERY happy with and confident in. VW of Alamo Heights truly does put the caring time and effort in for their customer. Will be back in the future! Absolutely wonderful CS. I was getting my daughter’s car serviced before she goes back to school on the east coast and let them know she had a hard time finding a place to get her car serviced there. The nice service guy looked it up her school and found the closest dealership to service her car there. Not everyone helps you with something like that. For sure top notch service, from the time I dropped it off to the time I picked it up.

Went in two weeks ago for an oil change and was told to come back in the middle of the week when it wouldnt be busy, and an appointment was not needed. Went in today mid morning and was told Id have to wait till 1:00p for the car to be finished. Waited there patiently till almost 2:00p seeing many people coming and going before me. Asked a couple of times after 1:00p what the status was without satisfactory response. Seeing an elderly woman willing to wait Im sure put many others ahead of me in line. I Do not recommend this company to get fair service.

I brought my atlas in for regular maintenance oil change and 10K mile service… Car is running well and was clean when I picked it up… 6. Hours. Later. Who has time for that? Service is done but I couldn’t use my car for the whole day. Service advisors are knowledgeable and friendly. Time quotes are not accurate.

4.5 stars but I rounded up.Now that Ive owned the car for more than 2 weeks I can give an honest review.Fabiola is great! She made sure we were taken care of and we were able to negotiate a fair price for the vehicle.12 days in the battery died and left me stranded I called the next day and Fabiola was able to get me in and have the battery replaced at no charge although it took 3.5 hours.Only reason I say its 4.5 starts is because of the battery and the fact that they sold me a car with illegal windows tint on the front windshield. I was pulled over and given a citation. I dont think its fair that I was sold a car with illegal tint and now I have to deal with the citation and the removal of it.Other than that the experience has been great

The staff were easy to work with and very friendly. Leslie was our shuttle driver and was so friendly. I didn’t get any kind of email or paperwork detailing what was done and was told we would get an email of any findings - so I guess that means everything was okay? Would have appreciated knowing either way - inspection was done and okay or inspection wasn’t done.

I called Volkswagen of Alamo for an appointment to have my car inspected. I figured it was going to be a few days but an appointment was given to me the same day. I was there one hour only and the inspection was done. Very efficient and speedy.

The work completed was done professionally, however, communication between the customer and the service department left a lot to be desired. Communication is a must when your vehicle is being worked on and this time I would say it wasn’t satisfactory. For example, I had to speak to at least four different people over a two day period. And each one had to run circles to find out what was going on with my vehicle. Also, the service department guy I turned the car in to was off the next day. Then the guy that called me back was off the next day. Getting through to the service department on the phone was also a major pain with very lengthy waits. On top of that when I did get through once after a 17 minute wait, somebody picked up the phone and just hung up on me. As originally stated, the repairs/maintenance performed were great, but communication was disappointing.

I arrived early for service, my car was ready as promised. Estrella provide great customer service. Service manager Tumay is doing great job.

Went in for an airbag light that wouldnt shut off. I made an appointment online and showed up about 15 minutes early. The gentleman who helped me was awesome! He asked if I could leave my car with him and I told him I couldnt so he grabbed a computer and went to the car. After running some diagnostics, he found it was a reset that was needed so he went ahead and took care of it for me and I was on my way. Amazing place, amazing service and amazing staff!

The service has been impeccable.We are traveling from NM to FL. Engine problem. They put us to front of customers to get us on our way.

I havent bought, but the service department was great. Got my oil changed and tires rotated and a battery put in my key. Only took about an hour and everyone was very nice and did a good job. After experiencing some brake issues with my Nissan Armada, I took the car to Volkswagen of Alamo Heights to fix the problem. The process was super easy, as befitting their motto; We make it easy. After dropping the car, I was advised within a day, that the car needed brake pads and rotors all around. I was asked if I wanted to bring in the parts needed, or they could order the parts themselves. I told them that I would bring in the parts. After dropping off the parts, I was notified that the car would be ready that weekend. I was called by Mr. David Serna, and told that the car was finished, what hours they would be open (on Saturday and Sunday), and how much they were charging.All in all, it was a flawless performance. The job was completed in a timely manner, with no surprises. The estimate was to the penny, and the car is now working like new again. Special thanks to Ms. Tumay Nguyen for overseeing the process, and Mr. Rolando Gonzalez for providing a superb job.

For organization. Very poor communication on when things get fixed and half of my 2019 service issues have yet to be fixed. It was only when I got Rodney as my manager did anything get fixed . Most issues they couldnt find a problem. Their service people used the same excuse for every issue. Only 5 star would go to Rodney everyone else deserved minus 1

Amazing Experience with Anya. My wife and I went in and within 2 hours we were done shopping, trading in, and buying. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Finance officer was great. Whole thing was exceptional.

Went in for a simple warranty issue (overhead sunglass holder clip broke) and a state inspection. Was informed it would be 30 min to an hour and advised me against taking a loaner car because youd have to come back right after getting home. It took over an hour past my appointment time for my car to be in the garage. At this point they revised their estimate to one hour from that moment. The services were ultimately completed over 3.5 hours after my appointment time. I was disappointed not only by the overall delay but also that each time I asked for an update, they severely underestimated the time remaining (only 15 minutes left! = 45 minutes). Look, the sunglasses holder looks good as new, but this is a simple case of severe over promising and under delivering, at the cost of my whole afternoon.

There are 3 VW dealerships in San Antonio. Ancira was my preferred dealership for my 1st VW but purchased my last VW from Northpark Dominion. Neither of them compare to Alamo’s proactive and friendly customer service. From the moment I called to schedule a last minute service appointment they squeeze me right in a polite way and with a sense of urgency, or at least that’s how they made ME feel. Alamo’s service department scheduled me the same day I called and had my vehicle ready 2 hours after drop off and this was for the same service other dealerships said would take at least a week to schedule for. Needless to say, I updated Alamo VW as my preferred dealership and definitely have my business moving forward. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I took my Passat for a recallthat I had scheduled 2 weeks in advance. When scheduling I asked how long it would take & I was told it would take 45 minutes to an hour. . So I scheduled my day around that time frame. When I got there I was told it may take up to 2 hours or more. I asked for a loaner because of the inconvenience. They said they had none. My husband had to complain to the General Manager and he gave us one.

Easily the most hassle free car buying process I’ve had. Big shoutout to Anya for taking care of me and my family. Excellent communication on her part. Also Arturo in finance for being welcoming. If you’re considering getting a new VW, Anya will get you taken care of.

Charged me $180 to check to see what was wrong with my car, then proceeded to tell me I needed to spend $2700 on a whole new turbo (which costs only $800). I brought my car home and my brother was able to fix my problem within an hour without having to replace any parts. They then brought me out the wrong car and couldn’t find my actual car for over an hour. I do NOT recommend coming here for anything that has to do with your vehicle.

My husband brought in my 2018 Tiguan for its 40K mile oil change and state inspection. He appreciated that the waiting areas were clean, had free water, coffee, and had free snacks. There were also several televisions for him to watch HGTV and the likes. The service folks were very polite and talkative with him…and he roamed the lot while he waited. No one harassed him but when he wanted to look at the new Taos and ID4, no one pressured him into trading anything in or running numbers. He very much appreciated that and fell in love with the blue Taos. When the service was done, they took the time to find my husband personally, instead of just calling over the intercom numerous times which was nice. The service department did their inspections and work, and didn’t pester him with unnecessary suggestions. Just told him what may need attention on a future visit and washed the vehicle without us asking them to. All in all, we were very satisfied with the experience and plan to use this dealer from now on for service (and potentially a new Taos in the fall). Thanks to everyone there!

Came into this dealer to check out the VW Atlas, and my mother and I absolutely fell in love with it. We were in the market for a SUV but after looking at the Acura RDX and the Toyota 4Runner, the Acura was a little bit too small, yet quite beautiful, the price was still a little too steep, the 4Runner, while gorgeous on the outside, too outdated in the interior. The Atlas has the perfect mix of new tech plus the price was pretty good especially when we bought it during Labor Day weekend. There Diego, a long time friend of mine from high school was working as a salesman and we were shocked! So working with him was even better! We got the pricing we were looking for and the financing was easy. Super friendly dealership with great people. Thanks Diego and Volkswagon of Alamo Heights! Definitely will recommend to others.

Debra and Florencio were great! We got what we wanted and more. It was a very comfortable environment. We didnt feel intimidated or pressured. The best part of our experience was when the dealer stepped in to our vehicle before we left to go over features rather then send us on our way to figure it out alone. Did not end up buying a car here and heres why:After test driving a blue 2021 passat se, I mentioned that it underwhelmed in a few areas (specific to the passat, nothing to do with this location) and that after arriving in person to see it, I preferred black. The sales person did his job and asked what price Id buy it at. I gave him a price and said thats for a black passat, though, so Id have to get back to him.He then made the bizzarre claim that there did not exist any passat ses in black in all of San Antonio. He was adamanant about it, saying his computer system lets him search inventory for dealers around him and showed me a blank screen.So I ended up buying a black passat SE from North Park instead two days later after I confirmed same day that they indeed had it in black....Dont like being lied to about something so silly, but because its so incredibly silly of a lie, Ill give the benefit of the doubt and post 3 stars for being so insistent about false information....

My vehicle had a somewhat large dent that I thought was going to still show after fixing but Ms. Tumay Nguyen took care of it. It looks as if it never had a dent! Quick and very professional service! Thank you!

From the moment my daughter and I showed up to Alamo Heights VW Wayne and the whole staff treated us like family. We had just left another VW dealer in the area and had experienced horrible treatment which was not something I wanted my daughter to go thru while buying her first car. Throughout the process Wayne was attentive to my daughters thoughts of what vehicle she wanted, and I appreciate that. All in all we walked away with a 2021 Tiguan with all the bells and whistles for less than the other dealership wanted for a 2021 Taos that was a lesser package. Since the experience was so enjoyable my wife and I are thinking of returning to purchase an Atlas. I have no doubt if we do we will have the same outcome.

Was explained that it would be 90 minutes, took 2hr and 30 minutes. Wouldn’t have hung around the dealership if I knew that was the case. They were nice and courteous, but I would prefer to not get mislead on an amount of time it would take.
