A state liquor store cannot get more than 3 stars. So its Friday before the Memorial day weekend and certain items like Scotch are cleaned out. Wouldnt a normal business order more before a long weekend? Anyhow the staff is friendly, I found my favorite wine, and theres plenty of parking. Good music too. Actually I go to this particular store just for the music.

The layout of the store allows for quick shopping and they have a great selection of whiskey and wine. Quickly becoming my go-to location.

As far as state liquor stores go, this is a very nice one. Lots of business seem to make it hard to keep everything fully stocked, so if youre looking for a specific thing you might have to come more than once, but such is the nature of having only a handful of state run liquor stores. I sure miss living back in Michigan where alcohol didnt have such tight regulation, I hate to be that guy, but it does seem quite communistic to have government run stores for products, in what is supposed to be a free market economy.

State DABC always kinda suck, but this one is one of the better ones in the state. Friendly staff, better than average selection and always clean.

This is so hard because we love almost every employee. They are so awesome and helpful. HOWEVER, if the plan DABC came up with- to make people stand and wait in the middle of a asphalt parking lot in 100 degree heat without providing an awning for shade, I would hate to hear what plan B was. You are having people wait in a parking lot where the radiant heat can reach 130-140 degrees. No one ever thought of getting an awning? What are you going to do when somebody passes out due to heat stroke? And yes, people dont HAVE to go to your store. But Utah controls all liquor and if you want any, this is what you have decided people must do. It is your choice to make the rule that you have to wait out there without any precautions what so every. Shame on you, how cheap and not caring for your customers can you be. Get some shade and water to your customers you rely on for the tax revenue.

This somewhat negative review has nothing to the good hardworking, and underpaid workers. It has to do with general incompetence of the DABC. I have lived in a few states without this level of government intervention, and even the most run down liquor stores are better stocked and supplied than even the best liquor store in Utah. Talking with the employees, their requests and orders from the central warehouse are ignored. It is evident by the holes in selection. The employees themselves are always very helpfull and curtious. Most also have a decent knowledge of their products. Get the incapable state of Utah out of this industry!

Good selection of beer and wine, fine selection of whiskey, poor selection of other liquors.

Canyon rim liquor store is my preferred location. Sugarhouse is closer to me, but is usually busy and has bad vibes. Parking is easier at the canyon rim location, quick in and out without being hassled by beggars.

Its state owned and poorly run. The staff try to be helpful but theyre not particularly knowledgeable, trained or motivated. The selections are limited and often missing. Its almost like the people in charge dont drink. Oh, wait....

Great variety of wine . The staff is always helpful and quick upon check out . They have great weekly sales on various popular brand vodkas and other types. Great location .

Ok, its a state run liquor store.. so expect it to be just exactly how a state controlled government liquor store would be..lame! At least the employees are nice.

Not the biggest, best liquor store in Salt Lake, but definitely one that doesnt feel like a DMV when I walk in. The staff here is friendly, attentive, and seem to actually know a thing or two about what they sell. At this location I was happy to see an impressive selection of bourbon. Cheers!

#1 preferred liquor store. Great location, great selection and most importantly, reasonable parking. I would rather drive an extra five minutes, than deal with the tom-foolery of a standard liquor store parking lot.

Long line on a weeknight with only 1 cashier helping people. 2nd cashier finally showed up but he spent his time directing traffic rather than checking people out. his supervisor needs to give him some direction on how to do his job....

Best selection of the liquor stores near where I live and the staff is the most accessible and happy of the nearby liquor stores.

Super crowded and crazy unorganized lines but prices are good.

Probably the best selection on the East Bench, mostly nice crew when youre in the location. Call about anything and you get your typical state employee whos snarky and oblivous. Go for the booze, not the coustomer service.This is a model store for the privatization of alcohol sales. For such a conservative state, Utah could take a lesson from the 90% of states that dont meddle in this arena and keep their hands out of business.

Its alright - easy to find your stuff. Wish it were open on Sundays, but thats the states fault!

Only way it would be improved is if the State would get out of the business and allow it to be privatized like most states.
