I must update my review, because Bryan at PC Laptops called me and made the whole situation right. I received my refund and they put a new case on my laptop at no charge. I would have to say, that I am now happy with the service I received from them.I am so disappointed in the service for PC Laptops. Here is why. I purchased a laptop for my daughter. A couple of screws came out of the machine and the store claims they dont have screws there to fix it. They wanted to send it off to a supplier to have it fixed and they would need weeks to fix it. She did not leave it. I took it back a couple of months later to see if they could just fix it in the store they told me a similar story except that It would cost me approximately $500.00 or I could trade it in for a used one for $800.00. You are kidding me right?? No they were serious. Then just a few weeks ago I talked to one of the workers to cancel the back up that we did not use it and my credit card was still charged and they havent refunded the money as of this posting. My recommendation is to find a laptop somewhere else. You can buy 3 laptops for the price they charge and they dont keep the Lifetime Guarantee they want to charge for everything. Im so unhappy I feel compelled to tell everyone I know.

Came here because all the reviews are great. My headphone port wasnt working sometimes (the speaker worked), they said the only way is to update to Windows 11 ( me naively didnt know I could have done this at home by myself for FREE because I already had Windows 10), they charged me $100 for it.. After that, I was like whatever, its working now and I didnt know so it was my bad and they gotta make a living too. A week later, same thing happened, my headphones wont work when I plug them in. Brought the laptop back and they were like well now you gotta check it in (for $50) so maybe we can figure it out the problem or you need a new computer. He tried to sell me a different computer, saying that mine is old (I bought it brand new 2 years ago)!!! Saying they know Im tight on money so theyre finding the best option. Im willing to pay for services that actually work!!!. Felt very degraded, scammed here and like I need a man to be with me there so they wont rip me off like at the mechanic. I tried to be reasonable and respectful coming here with my concerns! Good thing there are PLENTY of other reputable options with reasonable prices around town that could fix laptops/computers too. In the future, it would be wise to call around some stores before going here.

Baron, Sijie, and all the guys over at PC laptops did an amazing job helping our company build the perfect work stations. These guys went above and beyond with the service and its been an all around great experience going through them. If you need a PC built for your business or even at home for personal use I highly recommend going through them. The warranty service alone is unmatched.In less than a week these guys managed to build us a system with components that are nearly impossible to get. (Especially those new graphics cards.) We loved the system so much that we decided to buy another one with the same components the week after. The computer that I had for nearly five years was running very slowly and was also having problems booting up when I would attempt to start using it. I visited the Salt Lake PC Laptops store and they helped me explore options. I quickly concluded that my previous machine wasnt going to be able to repaired where it would perform the way I wanted it to.So, I decided to buy a new computer. The team in the store was very helpful in identifying my needs and and then building a new laptop that was just what I needed.In addition, because my previous computer was having issues, there were challenges in transferring the data from it to my new machine. At first, it appeared that none of the files from the past four years were going to be able to be found. The store team worked diligently to make sure they found everything and then transferred all of those files. This effort took them several days and I was extremely worried that it wasnt going to happen. When they said that they had found and restored everything, I was extremely happy to know that I would once again have all of my important files.I also called their At Home Support group when I had some questions. As I spoke with the members of that group. I found them to be extremely helpful, just like the people I worked with in the store.PC Laptops is a company that I highly recommend and one that Im confident will be there to support me and keep my new computer in optimum working condition for years to come.

I’m a small downtown biz owner and wanted to support another local biz when our main shop laptop stopped charging. The person who helped was really nice and efficient. Told me it would be two days to diagnose and send to warehouse, two days to fix, and then back for pickup. Also said I’d get a call within two days with diagnostic info and I assume pricing details. A week later I had heard nothing so I called. Was told it hadn’t been looked at yet and was still in the store. I decided to try someone else since my biz is dependent on this machine and we’ve been struggling for the past week without it. When I got there to pick it up the manager scoffed at me because I didn’t know the issue would take three weeks to fix. The original person who helped me said two days otherwise I would have had to figure something else out before having it fixed and away for that long. I really wanted to support these guys and keep it downtown but my experience start to finish was a miss. Hopefully others have a better, more clear and communicative experience. This shop might be best for people who know lots about computers and repairs and come in with an established understanding of what to expect.

Amazing service! I just recently decided to get into pc gaming and had decided to build my own pc. I was unable to finish my attempt at building my first pc, so I decided to bring it in for them to finish my build. They did an amazing job and they even went out of their way to help me out some more once the initial build job was done. I had a faulty hdd that was causing my system to be super slow, the staff went above and beyond to take care of me. They made time to fix the issue without having to schedule another appointment and had me in and out of there with my newly built pc in no time. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly, making my experience 10/10

I was a customer for over 20 years. I sent in an older desktop that would not power up at a cost of $331. The tech, Baron, talked me into trading that one and my newer one for a brand new desktop giving me $1,700 trade-in value and charging me almost $5.000 for the new one on 8/2/2021. I was told I would get the new one before I sent my main desktop in so I would not be without a computer, but instead I was without any desktop from 8/9 when I shipped it out until 8/23. It took over 5 days for PC Laptops to give me a tracking number and then when I checked the delivery date was 8/16/2021 when I was to be out of town. I didnt open the box until Sunday 8/22/2021, 20 days after being charged. The desktop would not power up! I contacted Baron and sent him a video and was told someone would call next day Monday. Instead I had to call and spoke with Nathan (owner) and was promised a shipping label to send the new desktop back, a refund once they received it and that my 2 older computers would be returned. However, when I called today to ask about the shipping label, I was told my 2 desktops were being held hostage too and would not be released until the new one was received.This business has changed and it not worth the time, trouble or money.Please stay away unless you actually live in a city where you can easily return your merchandise or get a refund or sue them in case they try the same behavior as they have with me.I would have been fine if they had kept any word during this transaction and done the simplest of things right. Things do go wrong, but this is illegal to withhold my property. BTW, I never received an invoice or a charge receipt. Something is very very wrong with this business at this time. STAY AWAY.I finally received the invoice from store manager Nathan, but its been almost a week since I was sent the wrong shipping label for return at 40 lbs for a 53 lbs shipment according to your own shipping label. Ive heard nothing and I Ive been without a desktop for over a month after getting charged a total near $7,000. Retaining my 2 older desktops and charging over $4900 for new machine. Ive already disputed the charge on my business bank of america credit card, but that does me no good in getting back up and running.The responses from management in emails and on this site for bad google reviews are a sham; only designed to make others think PC LAPTOPS cares, but they dont.Complete scam and so harmful to any business. Ive been incorporated since 1993 and my main desktop has been out of my hands for a month!DO NOT BUY anything this company sells, especially customer service.

PC Laptops were incredibly helpful and friendly! I went into three stores today trying to fix a keyboard problem on my laptop. Every other store said there was nothing they could do without shipping the laptop off and wouldnt even attempt to repair it. PC Laptops not only scheduled me an appointment within 30 minutes of calling them, but I walked out of the shop with a functioning keyboard. They also did a great job with COVID-19 precautions (masks, gloves, and cleaning of the laptop).

The computer is from Best Buy but they’ve been a bad experience in the past and I very much trust PC Laptops assistance more than Best Buy. My father takes a lot of computers to them for help and has for years, ten ten recommend!

I loved my PC Laptop so much that when we needed to add one for our business we purchased another one. Well, apparently they only care about the sale, not service. We made an appointment to get both of our computers in for service because we understand that they are busy and it can take up to 3 days if you just drop off. We were assured on the phone that they would do everything to get them both done on Friday, or Saturday at the latest. We closed our office for the day and went to drop off our computers. Brandon, the manager, was very rude and said there was no way it could be done in less than 3 days. Thinking that maybe we went to the wrong store, we found the phone number we called previously and redialed. Yep! Same store! We spent over $5k because of the service they brag about! I’ve never been so disappointed in a company!

Staff was helpful and friendly. Even during a busy time for them, my laptop was fixed in three days (granted, it didnt need any new parts, and I imagine that would take longer). Staff was knowledgeable, the problem was fixed perfectly, and the price was very reasonable. If youre a student, this was quicker and less expensive than the campus store for repairs (at least in my experience).

Turned in my old computers for a spiffy high-speed one and they transferred all my data to the new work horse!

I brought my laptop in to be scrubbed of any problems down loaded during a scam. This was due to my gullibility and bad decisions following the instructions of 2 slick slime bags. If was feeling very defeated and down. Baron de Carvalho was just who I needed. He was very professional and very friendly. He helped me over my guilt and encouraged me to learn from the mistake. You may pay more for their laptops than the laptops at the big box stores but there is no comparison to the level of service as well as the fact that your laptop wont be loaded with lots of unnecessary software/spyware.

My husband upgraded his computer and everytime he tried to play a game it would shut him out of the game. He tried everything and couldnt figure it out. We took it to PC Laptops and they checked everything and couldnt figure it out either. They gave us a very good trade in on his computer and we brought a brand new one from them that works like a charm. He is so happy. Their warranty is amazing. These guys really care about my machine. Although I didnt purchase my computer from this branch, they always treat me like I did. I always feel welcome here and they do a fantastic job.

My computer was beyond broken and although it unfortunately couldnt be fixed (not PC laptops fault, HP laptops have a reputation for breaking quickly). However, they did everything in their power to fix and recover data, and when they found my laptop was beyond repair, they didnt charge me anything for the diagnostic or the data recovery. Highly recommend taking your laptop here, they are friendly and SO helpful!

I live in Oregon but I wanted to purchase a laptop from a business who would build me a quality computer and back up their work. My son mentioned PC Laptops and I ended up in the Sandy store talking with the techs there. Convinced that they were a store that would continue to support me I purchased a laptop that was specifically built for me. They remind me of periodic checkups the unit needs and I travel to Utah enough that I am pleased to bring it in while I visit. They have also worked remotely on my unit while I was at home. Of all the places I could have bought a computer I am convinced that PC Laptops is the very best at continuing to support the quality product that they sell.

Hello. I dropped my phone yesterday. The screen was cracked. I remembered there was a PC laptop near my office. State Street in Salt Lake City. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a sales person. Social distancing was in play. That was one of the customer in the store. I showed him my phone he went to look to see if he had the replacement part. He did have it. I asked him how much and the price was comparable to when I had a screen replaced a couple of years ago by another company. We completed the paperwork. He told me it would be two hours which was perfect. I came back the same gentleman was there plus another gentleman. They were so professional I loved it! I am a professional in the Salt Lake area and I appreciate the service that I received yesterday. Even on my way out he asked me to watch my step as I exited. I would definitely go back there When another service is needed. I highly highly recommend PC laptop at 745 State St. in Salt Lake City.Social distancing in my safety from Cove it is very important to me and my family. And these people take it seriously also.And of course the installation of my new screen was perfect.

I went in knowing I needed a new SSD cause mine was bad. So called them and they took the time to listen to my problem and didn’t Interupt me when I was speaking. They didn’t try to up sell me on anything. These guys a freaking awesome man. Seriously. They gave me a nice price for I needed ran me through what I needed to do to get my new part working. I highly highly suggest taking your computer needs to this place. I recently ordered a computer from a retailer and when I received it I found that it was defective so I returned it. I decided to buy a computer from PC Laptops instead of reordering so I went to the West Jordan PC Laptops store. A salesman approached and I told him I was hoping to check the prices of their gaming computers as I could find no prices on their website.He abruptly said that they build their gaming computers which start at $2,000 so I asked about specifications and prices. He informed me that specs dont really mean anything when it comes to their computers since they build them and asked if I wanted him to demonstrate one. I explained that I like to review components and specs to compare prices between retailers and he reminded me that they build their computers but did not share other details. He seemed very hurried and impatient so I just left.I had intended to build my own computer however components are not currently available ( yes I believe that specs for components ARE important ) so decided to order one. When that proved defective I decided to buy local so went to this to store buy one. I think now thats probably not a good idea at this store.

Ive had experiences with PC Laptops over the last couple years. Never once has it been negative. All the staff there are super knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. There have only been a few mistakes made over the two years, and they were ready and willing to fix them! Thats valuable in business! I will forever be going to PC Laptops for all my computer needs!

The service is what made me decide to go with a PC laptop.They transferred all of my data, from my old computer to my new one. More focused on sales, not service. Bought a new PC there, showed the salesman what I wanted in terms of CPU and he tried to give me a build with a lesser CPU and motherboard, Im assuming there was a spiff on selling that, either way if I know what I want I dont need to try to be talked into something else. I ended up with what I wanted in the PC, but then the service for trying to get information transferred over from my old pc has been more than a headache. There was just poor communication from the reps, the tech and manager which caused my headache, I hope this is just a one off because I just spent 4k$ with these guys and disappointed with the service to say the least. Still really annoyed I was offered a different motherboard and CPU than what I wanted, only for what i wanted to actually to be the exact same price, so there way no reason to waste my time selling me a build I didnt want. Not only that I was sold a motherboard that is not supposed to be sold, its a motherboard that is provided to retailers for sampling, its not a mother board that should be sold to consumers. Honestly screw these guys, super shady.

These guys were great. Received one of there laptops through the VA for my schooling. I accidently broke the screen. I called them and sent it in the mail the next day. I paid for the screen and there was no charge for the labor. They returned it as soon as it was finished. I appreciated the quick response and repair. Highly recommend these guys.

I know these guys dont normally sell components. They just build custom PCs. However I am a PC builder myself and when I was in a bind due to a messed up Amazon PC case order I needed a PC case that day! The sales rep Josiah and his Manager Brandon at this location colored outside the lines and made an exception. They sold me an AMAZING Phanteks PC case. The price was within 10$ of the same thing on Amazon. I cant not thank these guys enough for helping me out. I have already started referring people to this exact location who want Gaming Rigs built for them. They were amazing! Thanks guys!

To laptop owners in the Salt Lake City area, I have a recommendation based on recent, first-hand experience. I have a 15-month-old Dell laptop which has given me numerous problems since I bought it. Since I got it at Best Buy, I took it in to their GEEK Squad (ten times!) for various fixes. They were only marginally helpful and sometimes, like the last time, not at all. The same is true of Dells own service department. A week ago my laptop died. It wouldnt even start up. GEEK Squad and Dell both said I should mail it them and then it would take 3-4 weeks to diagnose the problem(s) and another 2-3 weeks to fix and return it, for a price. It didnt bother them at all that I wouldnt be able to work for 5-7 weeks. But two acquaintances, one a computer IT professional and another my co-author on a book, suggested PC Laptops. Fortunately they were only 3 miles from my home office. I took it there on a Friday afternoon, and to make a long story short, they had it fully repaired less than 24 hours later, plus giving me some helpful advice on some laptop questions Id been struggling with. Their cost was a reasonable $53. Ive had just this one experience with these guys (thanks, Zen) but I highly recommend them.Allen Roberts, architect, artist & author

I was in a pinch with a broken iPad. I created an online appointment at PC Laptops to get the tablet fixed - even chose the exact model # on their repair page when I scheduled the appointment. Brought it in the next day at the scheduled time and they didnt even have the parts to fix it. They wouldnt even recommend where to go next. No help, and I wasted my time by going to PC Laptops. Dont waste yours.

I needed an emergency repair on my main work computer after it stopped working late night. I went in and found out my problem was bigger than I expected. My PC Laptop tech was very helpful and quickly put together a new PC tower for me and transferred my files to the new computer immediately getting me back to work the same morning. They saved the day! Most places in SLC do not have that type of turnaround and desire to just get things done. I am enjoying my new tower, it is great, but it was their ability and willingness to work hard and fast to get me out of a very tough spot that impressed me.

Fantastic service. Went in at 7pm on a Friday with my old Dell that would not boot, and walked out 25 minutes later with everything working fine (HD wasnt seated properly, apparently). No charge. Great experience. Will definitely use them for repairs going forward and likely will get my new laptop from them when this Dell finally dies...

Staff was especially knowledgeable and has good attention to detail. They try to figure out what the problem is right on the spot but if they cant they keep it for a day or two to test all the components. Their customer service was great as well. They were a hard working bunch with great computer skills. The computers they sell are higher end so they can be on the pricy side but they have a lifetime warranty and you will get very good quality product. Not the same what you get a big box stores.

Computer stopped working and they were able to figure out the problem quickly with minimal down time. Dropped off Friday afternoon and had ready for pickup Monday morning. Had them do a professional cleaning while getting repaired and looks brand new inside and out now. Customer service felt honest, straightforward and friendly. I had a great build out when they improved my speed in 2017 on a Toshiba, and a support from Baron when shopping for a computer in my price range. He helped me with my computer I bought through Walmart. I was able to find Toshiba and get it tech approved! I will be getting that computer checked with you when I get it, I cant afford your $1500 computers but if i ever do I will get one at PC Laptops for sure! Thanks dude.

I went in to PC laptops to buy a laptop, for my 81 year old mother-in-law. I wanted to get a customized computer, that would be easy for her to use and very user friendly. I was helped by an experienced staff member, who was able to find the right computer to meet our specific requirements. He was very efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. It didnt take him long to find the computer, that would meet our exact needs. Within a few days, we had the exact laptop, that we needed and were looking for. I came to PC laptops, because my husband has dealt with them before, and he recommended that they would be a good place to get what we needed. I am also very pleased, with the way PC laptops stands behind what they sell, and part of what they offer is a lifetime service contract. Amazing!

The customer service was so fantastic I couldnt not leave a 5-star review. I was greeted right when I walked into the shop; one of the guys took a quick look and told me I might have to leave my laptop there for 2-3 days because it wasnt turning on. Luckily, my laptop issue was resolved in about an hour and I was called back instantly. I really appreciate that not once throughout our interaction did he make me feel unintelligent. Thank you so much for having a cheerful attitude at your job and for being time-efficient so I could have a working laptop back in a day!

My computer was brought in for service, all it happened was that they kept the computer in their shop for a week and charged me $60 for it.Without any effort to bring the computer back to life PC Laptops was trying to sell me one of their computers with a lifetime warranty.....I took my computer to a local shop, once they open up the computer they could see that it was full of dust and that it was given the least amount of care.My computer is now running Windows 10 after a day of service, I was told that my system wouldnt be able to support it.

The staff at PC Laptops is able to talk plainly to folks like me, who are not fluent in computer lingo. Their professional knowledge of computers was delivered in a friendly manner that didnt make me feel uncomfortable when discussing my needs. I now have a laptop that fits my needs and is within my budget. I also appreciated the service after the sale. They were able to quickly clear up a connectivity issue between the computer and my printer to my complete satisfaction.

I was transitioning from a desk top IMAC to a laptop PC. Baron was very helpful in helping me determine what I needed that would last me for the next 10 years. Julian was very helpful in getting my IMAC information to transfer to my new laptop PC. When I had some issues with transitioning from the MAC to the PC, Julian was very patient and helpful.

My laptop died and after hearing their commercials for the last 5 years I decided I was going to have it fixed here. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, didnt talk down to me, explained things in a way that I could understand. Fabulous! I had a serious software issue that I could not resolve. Mark got the short straw and met every possible expectation! When it took more time that I gave them walking in at the end of the day, he let me know as soon as he determined this and let me leave with the promise he would wrap up my concerns the next morning. HE DID EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD and called me the next morning with a successful report! I had come 3 hours from rural Utah. This means a lot! When I phoned in to see about the possibility of the repair, Brian quickly booked an appt with me to be seen quickly! 100% satisfied in every way! I am in sales, and understand their desire to frequently change customers out of “lesser” hardware as they see the repairs. When I answered that I didn’t need/want new at this time, they let it go and eagerly solved my issue! This pleasant, happy and eager behavior won the day! My laptop stopped working and took it here. The technician Zen was super helpful and knowledgeable and fixed and cleaned my laptop for free. Will definitely go back here if I have more problems or need a new computer.

Went to pc laptops for a diagnostic test. Turns out the graphics card just needed to be put back in the correct socket. Free of charge.

Brandon helped me in finding a suitable cord for my laptop charger to connect to sockets in US free of charge !! I was facing an issue to find a solution for this as the chords connector wouldnt connect with electric sockets found here. So thank you Brandon !!

I took my desktop computer in because it wasnt working after I tried installing new parts myself. Not only did they fix a problem that I spent hours and hours on, they installed my new parts for me free of charge.They were incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful and I would absolutely recommend them for any issue you may have with your computer.

These guys are good with computers and explaing the working parts. The bad thing that they are bad about why when I took my computer to them and explain what was wrong. Ho it just needs tune up okay they did the tune up and said I need to renew my spy ware so for $50.00. I took it home and pluged it in and it still dont work I took it back Ii told them that I couldnt get the inter net to work they said that I have to plug it in. I told them that I have wifi and it was working fine before. I took it back a third time and they started to tell me how things work but not how to fix it. I saw where this was going and picked up my oxygen bottle and walked out.

Okay so I tried upgrade some parts on my pc (and I had pretty alright knowledge of pc’s, right) and I fried some parts. I took it into pc laptops and not only did they figure out the problem they fixed the entire thing and did it super fast. These guys are great and I trust all of their technicians more than any other business (and myself). Looking back I should have just brought in the pc to then first because they are great to work with. Avoid the frustration and confusion bring it in to them.

Had a battery issue which they diagnosed very quickly and didnt charge me a dime for it. Very professional and clean store as well. They definitely have all my future business!

I went to the Salt Lake PC Laptops store to have my 6 year old laptop diagnosed because it would not charge. The guys there quickly figured out the problem was my cord and gave me a quick education on getting a new one. My laptop works again, and I couldnt be happier. Greg Holmes did everything in his power to educate me and help to make sure I got exactly what I needed in my new PC. I had a deadline and needed the machine for an event. None of the online retailers I was looking at could meet my timeline, but PC Laptops did it with ease. The prices are a little more at PC Laptops than you will find at discount online PC suppliers, but that is because of the incredible lifetime warranty they give on all their machines. They were even willing to put my old hard drive in as a backup and install a couple other additional components I had purchased elsewhere. After they built my machine, I found out there were some things I did not like about it and they were completely willing to adjust and modify it until I was 100% satisfied. I simply would not have received service like that from an online place. I am thankful Greg took time to answer my questions and accommodate my requests.

Location Specific:Wonderful and kind staff, Knowledgeable Quick service.PC Laptops:They couldnt help me repair my laptop hinge because they claim that the parts arent made anymore. My laptop is only 7 years old.It works perfectly and needs a small repair. Why should I throw away a perfectly good laptop for that? I cant see myself buying another PC laptop. They get you with the free diagnosis for owning a Pc laptop. But then they wont fix it. If your item gets too old.Im sick of living in a throwaway society
