This location doesn’t have the burger anymore which is unfortunate BUT it is at the 9th and 9th location so for anyone who was as sad as I was, move on over to Publik kitchen.

Its okay, nothing to rave about but not bad either. Tots, waffle and a small drip coffee came in at $11 after a tip. Not bad, but not exactly a cheap spot to grab lunch either. Comparable to campus prices, but we all know we are paying a premium for the convenience there. The coffee was good, but I wasnt a fan of what I ordered. The waffle had a weird texture, more like a biscuit, but with a softer/chewy middle instead of a bread-y one. I overheard somebody say its vegan so maybe thats why its a little strange...ha. Honestly I was kinda hoping for a diner style waffle so I was disappointed. Tots were perfectly golden, but I thought they were a little underdone. Not quite crispy enough on the outside and the middle had a slight bite of an undercooked potato. Sauce that came with was good!Staff was nice and friendly and it has a nice aesthetic. No public wifi-guessing thats to keep people from staying too long so they can turn over tables. Baked goods in the case under the register were no more than $3. Id come back, but just for coffee and a pastry....skipping the menu food next time.

Great coffee n eats right off campus. This place takes over feom Big Eds, a campus institution since 1968. With a somewhat eclectic menu, coffee products and beer. A more upscale coffee experience with a laid back vibe.

So so yummy. The big salad was so delicious. Loved all the pickled veggies, burger was so good as well. Staff was super nice and loved sitting outside. My hubby said the chili was the best chili he’s ever had. Will definitely be going back on the regular.Great job!!!

Great spot for a quick bite. I love the decor, a great update that still pays tribute to the legacy of Big Eds. The gawdawful is just as good, if not better than before. I didnt get to try any of the beverages, but I will next time and update accordingly.

The atmosphere is great, they do have access to WiFi for customers and it’s a convenient location being right off campus, but it’s definitely over priced for mediocre coffee and mediocre and inconsistent food.First time I ordered the big salad it was fantastic; lots of toppings, good amount of greens and had half of a large avocado on it and that day I felt I’d just about gotten my money’s worth for an $8 (maybe more, but definitely not less) price. Came back the following week and ordered the same thing, but this time did not get half my money’s worth... I received much less of everything and not one single slice of avocado and I know they weren’t out because someone who came in after I was served ordered the avocado toast. Was very disappointed that day. They’re also open until 8, but I’ve never seen a selection of baked goods in the afternoon with the exception of sometimes there being one scone left. This is a pro and a con since we know the baked goods are fresh daily, but really wish they made enough to last through for their afternoon customers.

Publik Ed’s is fantastic! Small and right next to the U! Now I kinda wish I was back in school. The staff is great and friendly and the food and beer is wonderful. Thanks for keeping this place alive!

Publik did a great job of re-vamping the old Big Eds site while keeping part of the old vibe alive. I used to frequent Eds about once every 2 weeks or so for lunch or breakfast. It was great to have a place right off campus to talk with colleagues after or before work. The new food and coffee are great, but its now too pricey to visit more than once or twice a semester. A couple nods by the new restaurant to the campus hangout culture, such as free wifi, refills on drip coffee, and tater tots being included in the base burger price would help make this place a lot more appreciated by the campus crowd.

Cant tell you how great their burgers are! Theyre the reason I go. While the portions are just a tad small (theyre still not bad) the place is quaint and staff is very polite and attendant

Pretty good food. REALLY expensive prices. A beer, small bit of tots and basic burger cost Over $17. Good campus option but it won’t last with those crazy prices. The best part was the great local beers. Especially RoHa.

New place, only been once. The burger was really good, well cooked nice sauce, the onion relish jam was good and I dont like onion. $3 was a bit much for a side of some good off the shelf tater tots. The iced mocha wasnt well made, but they did just open. Pretty good food but a little pricy.

I got the gawdahful (spelling) and it was so so good. You get tater tots, covered in chili, covered in an egg done however you want; all for around 8 dollars. Chill university atmosphere; will be visiting for lunch again soon

Great breakfast and cozy space, but no public wifi at a coffee/beer joint next to campus? What gives?! I came to get some work done on my laptop and had to leave soon after ordering.

Food was great, good beer without being expensive. I ordered Eds Breakfast with sausage, but with no egg, avocado instead. A star knocked off for lack of thermoregulation. It was roasting when I came in, and freezing when I left.

Fantastically fresh food, creative drinks, moderate pricing. Teeeeeeny tiny spot, and as other reviewers mention, temperature regulation fluctuates uncomfortably. Love it anyway.

Pretty good burgers here although I did send one back for being raw and under cooked. They were happy to fire a new one though. Selection of drinks outside of coffee (dont drink it) and beer (dont drink it while needing to work still) is pretty limited. Didnt like the limeonade at all. Tasted like it was fake lime extract instead of real lime juice. If you like the selection of drinks and if my burger was a fluke, then this is your place to go.

Really pricey for the price and taste. The burger is admittedly crispy and juicy and good, but 8.5 for just a burger is really bad value, especially in an area mainly consisting of college students. Youre not going to stay afloat with these prices.

Coffee is as good as the other Publiks and the breakfast food is pretty amazing and I highly recommend it. The only downside is no public WiFi. So if want to come over and get some work done as well, I wouldnt plan on it.
