When I was living there I went to them for all my troublesome 01 Jettas problems, and they fixed promptly and professionally with care and quality.They even go above and beyond simple repairs. Slow to get started and thus took a while. Outside of that Davie Powers Automotive was thorough and patient. I particularly enjoyed their full and simple explanation thatll me feeling confident in their work.

I wanted to share that this place did a fantastic job on my boat motor repairs recently. Arly and Henry at the front counter were very knowledgeable and helpful. I have owned various boats over the last 40 years in the Salem area and never used this facility before. I usually take my boats to another reputable boat repair shop in Salem. But due to various reasons I was forced to try out Dave Power Marine to get my boat engine problems repaired. They got my boat scheduled in less than a weeks notice and had it repaired and ready to go in less than 2 days at the shop. Which is pretty impressive this time of year. I was really impressed with their honesty. As I told them that the motor was dying every time I tried to throttle up. I thought it might need a carb rebuild and tune up. They diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel filter and a throttle linkage adjustment. They basically had my authorization to due the carb rebuild and tune up for probably $600+ dollars and told me it wasn’t necessary. Wow now that is a nice surprise and honesty. And when I went to pick up my boat Henry took the time to show me a few things on my engine I had questions about. I would definitely recommend these guys for your boat repairs. This is an honest shop. That says a lot these days. Great local business that caters to general automotive repair also boat mechanical repair. Dave the owner is onsite and one of the most knowledgeable around when it comes to boats. Highly recommend for boating and automobile repairs.

Our Van had been sounding rough on the idle and while driving. Henry explained the process and possibilities giving me a low and high end scenarios. The guys checked it out and found it was going to be an expensive repair with more possible once the obvious issue was repaired. We had a problem with our Berkeley jet drive in our boat. For three years, we had an annoying leak we could not find. We were referred to Dave powers as people who knew jet drives. We took it down to them ( nobody in Portland would touch it) and left it. By the next day, Henry, the tech, had found it. He recommended some othe work since the drive was tore down. They did a pre-purchase inspection on a car I bought. They did a good job letting me know any issues. Keep in mind they may not check all internal electronics but they did a great job with the rest of the car. Easy to work with remotely.

Needed a bunch of boat trailer work done. The trailer company that manufactured the original trailer was out of business so they couldn’t get replacement parts. They did a lot of research to come up with a good solution that worked. Very thorough when I picked up the trailer and going through and showed me the parts that they replaced. Spoke to the Mechanic as well and they did a great job. Highly recommend!

Finding a Berkeley Jet Mechanic these days is next to impossible. Daves work was complete and well done. I had the jet completely rebuilt. They kept me informed throughout the process. Obtaining the parts proved to be a challenge during COVID but as soon as the parts arrived they had it done. Very professional people working here.

Sold me a nice, used outboard, works great. I used it a lot during salmon season in both salt and fresh water so I had them tune it up for steelhead season. Didn’t have to wait long and reasonably priced for a good tuneup and a new prop.

Went in because my 04 jeep grand Cherokee was having some battery charging issues. They replaced the wiring and alternator. Two days later the battery was dead again! Took it in they replaced the alternator under the warranty. A few days later it was dead again! I took it in they said that the brand new battery I had in there was bad. So I took the battery to were I purchased it and had them check it and there tester. It said the battery was fine. I dont know what to do at this point! Battery is still draining from somewhere. They were really nice though...

Professional, Honest, Great Value, ReliableDave & Henry kept us informed of the status of the repairs. Diagnosing one of the issues was extremely difficult because it only occurred occasionally. They were eventually able to find out what the problem was and repair it. With the repairs our truck runs better than it has in a long time!

Im a new customer to Dave Power A&M. With a 12 year old vehicle, things need attention such as a headlight that was out. I stopped in to make an appointment - they took care of it on the spot. My friend had a similar thing happen - I told her about my experience and she visited the shop. She was quite pleased.When my engine light came on, I stopped in. They looked at it and made a cursory inspection and found it didnt need urgent attention; we made an appointment. When I dropped it off, they took me home and then picked me up. In summary: Great service!

Heating and cooling on VW PASSAT Wagon 2003. Not an easy access / as lay person nightmare job. VW definitely had job security in mind for mechanics with design of this car. She was in the OPERATING ROOM for 10 hours, but Dave Powers has the right surgeon for the job. The Wag is back on the road , following a trip to the car shoe store and a mini spa day. Recently we took our Miata in to have the A/C checked out. It was blowing hot air. While we had the car in the shop we decided to have Dave Power mechanics to do an inspection. They found a few things that needed servicing, transmission fluid change and oil change in the differential and the fuel filter. It was a quick turn around and picked up our car. The next day we drove it around doing errands and noticed a strong fuel smell. We called Dave Power and Henry said to bring it back. The same day they called and said they found a faulty fuel filter they had installed. They replaced it at no charge. Dave Power stands by their work. They do all the maintenance on our vehicles. They never pressure you to make repairs nor do they suggest any unnecessary repairs. We trust their judgment and work. We highly recommend Dave Power for all your automotive repairs.
