I got a quote for $600 on the phone to install a liftmaster door opener, but when the technician got to my house, he said it will cost another $150 to install that brand. He ended up giving me a cheaper brand I can buy at Home Depot for $200 with only one remote. They make $400 for one hour of work but cannot keep their word.

Highly recommend this company! Kirk was very professional and prompt. He arrived earlier than when he said he would and got to work right away. After assessing the problem, he installed the proper equipment and the garage door works perfectly! Kirk also tightened the chain which was making too much noise, greased the chain and even provided a new wall switch.

I called GDSofS after seeing a review from a neighbor. Glad I did. Kirk gave me an estimate over the phone based on my description of the problem. He arrived at my home within 60 minutes of my initial call. He replaced a broken spring and lubricated the door. The door works great and is much quieter than it was before the spring broke. I only regret that I did not have him service the other 2 doors. Plus, Kirk was pleasant and informative. I will definitely use him again.

Kirk did an amazing job. We had some garage door troubles on a Sunday and he was very prompt and gave us an upfront quote over the phone. I was able to text him a photo of the problem and he was able to tell me what was most likely needed. Kirk came out just a few hours later and in less than an hour our door was fixed. He also answered all of our questions and gave us some info on what we will eventually need when our door goes out, as it will most likely be reaching the end of its life in the next few years. It was a Sunday when I realized I could not open my garage door. I was in a bit of a panic because I was supposed to be at an important family function. I called Mr. Bell & asked if he was available. He asked me a few questions and based on my answers he quoted me a price and thought he would be able to repair my door within the hour. He was able to do it and I was on my way! I thought his price was very fair, especially being on a Sunday and somewhat of an emergency. I would call this company again if I am ever in need of fast, knowledgeable, professional service at a good price.

UPDATE: Nov. 2014 - I recently referred a friend who needed a new garage door and they told me they were extremely satisfied with the service, quality and professionalism. On a side note, I saw a 1 star review from someone but, Ive known Kirk since 1986. Hes a very honest, straight forward, to-the-point kind of person and I doubt very much that hed ever act as they described unless that reviewer severely provoked him. The type of provocation that I bet you, I or anyone else would react to the same so, Id ignore their review.HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Excellent prices, quality work, great products and fast service. The owner replaced my old wooden door and installed a new metal roll up garage door and opener in a few hours in the early 1990s and its held up better than others Ive seen.I called back years later for a spring replacement and he showed up within hours and not only replaced the broken spring but adjusted both springs and the door and lubricated the door and opener at no extra charge!On a third call back on a Sunday for door panel repair, he replaced the damaged part the next day just as soon as the warehouse opened and he could get door parts. Weve always used only this garage door company and always will.

KIRK BILL IS COMPLETELY DISHONEST & UNPROFESSIONALKirk is the most dishonest and untrustworthy person I have dealt with and I think he suffers from some mental issues which lead to bouts of rage and swearing at his customers - which is totally uncalled for and unprofessional.I asked him to give me a two quotes on two homes about 5 minutes apart:(1) To install a door in one house, while he was giving me the quote he complained about some of his former clients, wondering why they stabbed him in the back by complaining about the work he had done and filing complaints with the Contractors Licensing Board of California and that he does not advertise on Craigslist because the people who use Craigslist are low caliber!I told him that I am a very busy person and I want someone who is honest and gets the job done on the committed day and I have quite a few similar jobs to be done.He proceeded to give me a quote for a new door and also he said that the garage door motor was completely gone and that it needed to be replaced. So, I asked him to send me a quote for the door and the motor and that I will get him to replace it after I get the formal quote.(2) While he was there I asked him to also check the motor at another house which was 5 minutes away. He went there and called me and said the motor needs to be replaced. I told him to take care of it immediately i.e., replace the motor and then pick up the payment from me as soon as the job was finished.I did not have the time to see it and told him that I was ok with his diagnosis of the problem. He replaced the motor and then he wanted me to bring the money to him IMMEDIATELY even though I told him earlier that I was busy working at the first property.He kept calling me every couple of minutes so I had to break away from a meeting and drop off the check.When I arrived he was extremely threatening and rude and starting swearing using *F* words in front my tenant because I asked him to pick up the check. He demanded an additional $25 over and above the quote, which I did not pay. He wanted me to make the check out to Bill Kirk and NOT to Garage Door of Sacramento. I was about to call the police and demand him to leave my property but at that time the work crew were waiting for me to start work.Based on my encounter with him, I immediately got a quote from Elk Grove Overhead Doors. The technician gave me a quote for the door and said that I did NOT need a new motor whereas Bill Kirk said the motor needs to be replaced. Everything is working perfectly.I would not give this person any star.

Worst service company I have ever dealt with. They are 3 X the cost of other Garage Door companies. They charge for warranty repairs. I will never use this company again and I will not recommend them to anyone.
