I’ve been going to this establishment since March 2019 and it’s amazing!!! A friend recommended it to me and I’ve taken my friends and family here and they all love it!!! The customer service is great! The snow is so smooth and delicious! The teas are also great. You can even customize it so it’s to your liking.My favorite is the taro snow with condensed milk and jackfruit!

Taste as good as it looks, the shaved ice looks more like art than food. My only problem with vampire penguin is that its a bit expensive for shaved ice, I think the shaved ice I got was 8 bucks. Whats good about shaved ice is its not really filling so if you had a big meal you can probably fit in this dessert and its also not as harsh for people with sensitive teeth. My friend has a hard time eating ice cream because it hurts his teeth but he can eat this shaved ice no problem. There is also many good food places near this shaved ice place, Shalimar and the falafel corner are literally next to it.

Customer service was 👌 perfect! The desserts are decorated so beautifully. This location is very tidy, they also provide you with a few selection of books and board games!

Best Faluda I ever had in CA!

If you are looking for something tasteful and creative I totally recommend this place. It has a lot of different and unique icecream, smoothies and crepes flavors( is actually not an ice cream but shaved ice) Everything, everything taste very good. My favorite so far is the ice cream called dulce de leche, it comes with a tiny flan, banana and caramel. I highly recommend this place not only because its tasty, but because it has a nice inner design as for a nice patio sitting.

Very nice and calm ambience.When we went there was one staff member who was kind and patient with us. (It was our first time there.)Lots of menu choices! (See attached photos.)Reduced one star because this place needs a cleaning. My seat had sticky stuff that got on my hands when I scooted myself in, the bottoms of the chairs desperately need a wipe down, as do the menus.

Cute atmosphere! The aroma of sweet crepes as you walk through the door is very inviting.My first experience of a shaved ice dessert and OMG! I got the Affogato.Vampire Penguin is now on my Google Maps FAV list. Too bad there isn’t one in Santa Cruz.

Delicious dessert place with friendly service! The location is convenient, and they let you borrow board games while you are there so it is a great place to hang out with friends and grab a treat!

So good! I had the mango, strawberry, coconut shaved snow & my husband had the Oreo puffs. It was amazing!!!! And the staff is very nice. Cute atmosphere. All around great experience!

The place is decorated beautifully, but more importantly their shaved ice, ice cream concoctions are amazing!I have tried their mocha latte, cotton candy, thai iced tea drink and all were amazing.Thank goodness I dont live close.

I ordered there falooda which is basically a pakistani dressert with ice cream, noodles and a sweet milk/syrup. Theres is really good and pretty authentic, my mom loved it and shes picky when it comes to falooda. A little pricey at ~8$ but Would definitely recommend trying it!

What a nice change from the usual ice cream. Delicious snowy, icy, flavors with fruit, ice cream, and all kinds of toppings. Youd have to try it to understand the goodness... 🥰

This place is awesome on these hot days. We had the Fruitopia and it was so refreshing. My mom and grandma are really picky about what they eat, but this was a hit! We also had the Horchata special and omg 😳 I was better than any horchata drink I’ve ever had. 😆 I’m so happy we found and tried this place. Definitely will be coming back often. 😁

I got a mango & vanilla ice cream bowl and it was great on a warm day. The menu is on the counter so it is not easy to decide what to order. It would help to see what is available while standing in line. There are items on the wall like coffee but to get a proper idea of the shave ice creations you are looking at laminated menus about 4 or 5 to see picture & description on the counter. Also this place is not cheap but my bowl was perfect for me.

Inventive desserts that are as pretty as they are delicious. Main dessert is shaved snow (think fluffy ice cream) with various toppings. They also have ice cream, boba tea, and coffee. Fun, family spot.

Awesome place! Amazing on a hot day or even for a Crepe! My kid always gets the Strawberry Ice and Strawberry Boba. The crepes are pretty darn good too. It got two thumbs up! It can get busy but its worth the wait!

Looks pretty... Thats about it. The brownie was hard like a little rock. Im not impressed. I like ice cream to melt in my mouth this dissolved in mouth. The fresh fruit on the shaved ice was good. Maybe it isnt my cup of tea or scoop of ice cream but the rock brownie was the first turn off for me. Oh and the music Id prefer a quieter setting.

Their desserts are awesome when you can get service! Went in for a family treat. Place was quiet and slow. 3 employees present but sitting and standing around, a family was lined up in front of us at the register..... everyone was waiting for over 10 minutes while one employee sat eating dessert and the other 2 went in the back and bickered about who was going to go to the counter. We finally left..... very disappointed!

Im a Vampire Penquin fan!!! I love the shave ice concoctions they create! The texture of their shave ice is really different, like a creamy shaved ice. This particular location has a great menu!!! Shave ice concoctions, ice cream, boba drinks, etc! You wont be disappointed!

It all looks good but I never had a chance to try it. 30 min wait to be served because the management has understaffed.

The perfect light treat.Its like eating artisan snow. I prefer to steer clear of most of the premade specials, the toppings are too heavy for such a fluffy base. Cant go wrong with a simple coconut, mango, or P.M.S!

Great place to relax and have a sweet. This Vampire Penguin is brand new, clean, and has friendly staff. The treats are also really good! Try the Mexican Candy, it tastes like a Mangoneada. Halo-Halo is also a must.

Shaved snow does contain trans fat. Consume at your own risk. I wish they made it with real dairy instead of the non-dairy cream alternatives. I didnt eat here, but did research prior. Im just sharing with everyone. Ask your store manager to show you the powder bag. It shows that it does contain hydrogenated oils.

Peculiar name but the shaved snow is pretty good. Ive had better texture but Vampire Penguin has interesting preset tastes like strawberry cheesecake.

This isnt shaved ice and it isnt ice cream. Its shaved snow and its absolutely different from any other dessert Ive tried. Really remarkably different. Sweet and light.

Vampire penguin has something new every time I go. Whether its a new flavor, dish or even live performance. The music is my favorite part because its a multiple playlists composed by the staff themselves.There are tons of different toppings and flavors and it never fails to impress me. The combinations are endless. If youre bored of the normal shows you can always order an egg puff or their new monsters, which are creatively themed shows with edible eyeballs. Their portions are amazing for the price and you can even order to go.Overall, if youre looking for something cold and sweet for a decent price, head over to VP.

Delicious and flavorful without being too sweet. I tried mango shaved ice with jackfruit as the topping. A perfect treat on a warm spring day.

Great dessert place for shaved ice specials. You can build your own with toppings. Or get thier VIP specials like Dulce de Leche. We ordered the Halo-halo and it was fluffy and delicious. Staff was friendly with good service. Restaurant was clean with a relaxing ambiance. Highly recommend.

The creations look attractive but they dont taste very good.

The snow is great but the service not so great. We ordered the smores puffs and they didnt melt all the chocolate or marshmallows. What was melted smelled and tasted like butane. Ill just stick to the snows.

The staff was super friendly. I think flavored ice just isnt for me.

First, they called the wrong name on my order so when I asked where my order was, they were ticked off I didnt pick it up when called. By this time it was melting, so when we demanded another, they just added more toppings. I would have given the place another chance, but the two orders werent that great. After all the toppings were gone, it was more or less watered down ice cream shavings. We would have been better off with a cone from Rite Aid.
