I simply need to have my espresso here toward the beginning of today. It was a truly stylish spot, and their espresso was awesome! Ive generally purchased their Latte here on the grounds that it was more delectable and more sweet-smelling than some other bistro Ive encountered previously. Until I go to work, Im actually going to drop here and purchase my espresso.

The name of this place is kinda odd.lol I can’t think of a reason why it’s called chocolate fish. But, (Anything before “but” doesn’t really matter), this place is AMAZING. Respect to all the coffee shops/cafes who serve little food options. I loved their fresh avocado toast. Having that on the menu is a game changer. Great coffee, interior is nice, clean and the staff is super friendly. You could see the roasting area and sacks of coffee inside. Nice little patio area as well. You earned my loyalty and five stars!! I’ll be back for more avocado toast and coffee :)

The whole experience from walking in to walking out was great! 5 stars no doubt! I loved how different the coffee tasted and how sweet it was. Awesome customer service and parking wasnt even bad at all.

While working in a Google Virtual Tour for one of my clientes, I wanted to stop by and had a delicious Moka! yomi yomi. Good environment, great friendly service.

My favorite chai latte Ive ever found. The hot chai is like a delicious holiday marshmallow, so foamy and comforting. The iced chai reminds me of horchata and its fantastic. If you dont do dairy definitely get it with oat milk. The staff are super great and this place is wonderful.

This is my wife and Is favorite coffee in Sacramento. Going on a walk and getting the Nitro Brew for the Summer is perfect.

Outstanding white mocha, Contemporary & cool ambiance. The espresso has a rich roasted flavor without being overly dark. Sweetness level was perfect in the smaller size. The nitro morning beer is rare & unique; I havent had coffee like this at any other cafe. BEST nitro coffee Ive tasted, and Ive tasted many. Its truly creamy, not too strong, not too weak. Everything was surprisingly delicious (including almond croissant) and it was an enjoyable experience. I will definitely come back.

Yum coffee but do not like their pastries at all. They are from another local coffee shop. Wish they had something better

Chocolate fish is hands down the best coffee Ive ever had. Probably why its rated number two coffee roasters in America. Staff was friendly, vibes were nice, coffee was excellent and food was amazing. I had a simple vanilla iced coffee and a almond butter banana toast. I recommend both of those. The coffee seem to be low in acidity and very smooth. Just the way I like it.

Ok hands down best customer service and cinnamon roles ever !! Its not overly sweet dripping in frosting. It is the perfect type of sweet, goes well with the delicious coffee. I dont know where they find these amazing cashiers/servers but all of them I encountered have been so polite. You dont see this everywhere! Their hiring is on point!👌

Coffee was great, just wish I knew there was no WiFi or outlets before coming here. The explanation I got from the workers was that this place was designed for socializing but I came on my own.. so, yea. Seems like a hot spot for older folks.Great place to go out on a date if you can get past the smell of burnt-ness, which is probably from the coffee roasting (really cool idea though, maybe a glass screened window would solve this or just better ventilation).All in all, highly recommended but I will personally go to the other location next time if I’m working or studying. Will keep this place in mind for group outings.-Eric

Nice coffee roasting shop in East Sac. Expensive, but youre worth it. They make continental breakfasts and have fresh baked items to go with your beverage of choice.

Can’t really say enough good things about these guys. The coffee is great, and the staff is very knowledgeable. They took the time to teach me a bit about their lineup of coffees and their process. Definitely my new go to coffee in Sacramento.

I didnt end up trying the coffee here (the Folsom location). The barista saw me holding my laptop charger while in line and informed me the entire shop has no outlets. I dont know if this is part of their ethos as nothing is stated on their website. But, FYI if youre intent on doing some work, this is not the place.

I took the 1 hour tasting class. It was informative and tasty. Youre given a number of coffee beans to drink. They explain the difference process of processing, geography and tastes. All for $20 and comes with a 12oz bag of beans. Parking is a little tight though.

This place is really great! Its so open and spacious for seating. Its very clean inside. I had the nitro infused coffee and it was by far the best Ive ever had! Some of the staff were a bit stiff and not interested in the customers but i have to leave 5 stars for how good the coffee was and the atmosphere inside.

This is the 2nd out of 3 C.fish locations and its really cool they didnt go the cookie cutter route to stick to the winning formula. These guys have their own industrial roast equipment + the bean bags that look like they came fresh off the boat to match. The waterpipe lights & quality wood counter/desk/seats really make you want to stay off your phone to appreciate your surroundings. I had the macchiato&mocha (1/2 chocolate) and they were great. In my opinion what really makes or breaks cafes are the baristas,and Lucas,Phoenix, &Ted are what makes my review 5+ stars. You cant have 3rd wave coffee without 1st class baristas and from the ordering with phoenix to the brewing with lucas and serving with ted i was able to relax with the comfort of knowing my coffee was going to be prepared the way it was intended to be. Unrelated but i even caught ted walking around the counter to save a customer those few steps and serve him his avocado toast with both hands out and a smile. I come from humble beginnings im talking dine in Styrofoam plates slapped on the dirty counter and paper cups with orders being yelled like an McDonalds so im like peeles character with the continental breakfast lol. I didnt upload any pics of the place because i dont want to spoil the experience. Go enjoy it for yourselves! Definitely coming back here Tuesdays/Thursdays to see the coffee get roasted in person :)

This place is amazing. I bike past it every morning to work, but its always closed during that hour. I was excited to see them at the downtown may is bike fest the past two years where they support bikers and offer the best cold brew coffee Ive ever tasted. Ive even bought a bike jersey and bib shorts this year and honestly fits more comfortable than all my other biking shorts and jerseys. I cant believe I have been biking their jersey all year but never officially visited until today. Did a coffee date with the wife and was greeted by the sweetest lady at the register. She was so helpful, honestly it felt more like meeting family. Not only was the service first class, the coffee was hands down the best cup Ive had all year. They also have a area where you can buy gifts for the holidays. They had a nice biking water bottle that Im definitely going back for. Cant wait to go back for another cup of coffee!

Went here for the first time the other day, got a regular mocha that was pretty good. Gave it four stars because the staff was upbeat and very nice. Saw my wife and I got our drinks with oatmilk and gave us some small free samples of oatmilk to take home. The outside seating is along the main street so its good for relaxed people watching g with a good amount of tables even if its busy. And it was shaded which is a big plus for Sacramento

Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Went there during down time and was greeted immediately by a staff member. Im no coffee connoisseur but their coffee tastes great regardless. Might be my new favorite coffee place. Only con is that they have no wifi, so I wont be able to do work here.

The best mocha in the whole world. We found out that the downtown location closed. We drove to the Folsom blvd. Location and they didnt have the blended coffee. We drove to the Freeport one. Even though they do not serve whip cream, the mocha was great and hit the spot. I introduced family to this coffee place. I hope it can open in Carmichael. Thanks

I thought it was a nice place. If your running around & you want a cup of coffee, this is a nice place to go. Good coffee. On a very busy street, which make sitting outside noisy. That is not their fault, but it makes them not a great place to get work done. Plus they have no wifi usage available.

Stumbled across this place while walking my dog, and Im so glad I did. Being my first time here, the barista helped me out understand the menu (despite how simple but amazing it is) and had my latte ready in no time.Although it isnt dog friendly on the inside, they do have water bowls all around their patio, and also hand out dog treats at the counter!

The East Sacramento Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters location is amazing. I always get iced coffee and unlike Starbucks, I dont have to add any sugar or cream to make it taste good. Its perfect every time. The environment is warm and inviting, its very relaxing, almost zen-like. I havent experienced anything like it from any of the other Specialty Coffee Shops in Sacramento.

When I heard a local coffee shop was owned by River Park neighbors I was excited. I made this my choice when my turn came to select the spot for my weekly work from a coffee shop group. I thought the place looked really cool and the roasting coffee smell was interesting, although Im not sure if that would hold after a few hours. I ordered my coffee and asked for the outlet locations and the wifi info. Then the let down. No outlets or wifi. Excuse was socializing. So they ignore how many people socialize (connected), students studying, teleworkers or just business meetings of all types. That struck me as a very specific exclusive vibe/message wrapped in the this is a place to socialize in the way we think is best. So we havent been back.

I dont like this whole review system, but Im not sure how to send a message to your business otherwise. Your coffee is great! But the lack of outlets and wifi is disappointing, making it a second or third choice place to study. (And I dont think borrowing wifi from the place next door is the best of solutions). The medical school is just around the corner, and I bet tons of student would stop by if you made this location a little more tech friendly! Im very happy to remove or upgrade this review if the message gets to the owner. Hope to see upgrades in the future!

There is no better coffee in Sacramento. Do you want to taste something thats as amazing as hot coffee ice cream? Get a breve latte. Or enjoy their New Zealand styled coffees and get a flat white. You will not be disappointed.

I’m gathering that the primary mission of this establishment is to sell and curate bulk quality coffee. Attracting customers to this location for repeat visits is still a goal, but not for extended stays (suitable for 30 minutes or less, meetings/breaks/gift shopping). I wonder about their commitment to sustainability.The owner (I’m assuming) is very knowledgeable but tries to flex it too much. I get a hovering feeling and almost a pushy-ness or hard sell attitude at times. I could be wrong!

I ordered two bags of their coffee for mothers day to be delivered to my mom. The order went out one day later and they followed my instructions to include a gift message. I was very happy with their prompt service!

Excellent coffee. Im a cold coffee fan and their flash-brew is great. Add on top really friendly knowledgeable staff that arent snobby and good prices. Definite worth checking. NOTE: they dont have WiFi because they want people to talk. Its actually pretty nice.

Nice ambiance. Steam punk type of place. Not too many people around. Nice Nitro Coffee pretty smooth but has a nice kick. Management is very friendly and helpful. Nice place to come to study for a while. There are No outlets to if you are going to be using any electronic device for an extended period of time bring an extra battery.

This place is absolutely delightful. I love the atmosphere and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Their beans are roasted on site and pulled at the perfect temperature to create a rich caramel espresso for each beverage. My husband loves their mochas and Im an Americano fan. Both are delicious!

Super good. Sac people are spoiled with these beans. Been coming here a while now. They have started to get a little loose with the bar drinks. I would rather have a well made macchiato than a well drawn leaf or whatever. Save your milk art for lattes and caps. Back to basics please.
