Nice home and gift selection. My wife and I visited on a Monday afternoon after I encouraged her to walk in. Its the kind of store she loves, and I tolerate because Im with her! She browsed awhile through the extensive selection of home, kitchen, decor and gift items, raved about a few she liked, and finally settled on one must-have kitchen gadget. As it turns out, I spent more money than her, selecting a little book about saints for our grandsons. We saw the article about the national recognition the store has received, and talked to Lisa, one of the owner, for awhile about our experiences living around the country.Guys, if youre in Rome, take your significant other here. Shell love it, and you may earn enough brownie points for a stop at the brewery!

This small business is located in Rome, Georgia, which is a small town. Generally here in Rome, small businesses and entrepreneurs go out of their way to support and respect one another. However, this particular one goes out of their way to acquire the same vendors and products as their neighboring small businesses. Im not even sure what their angle is, are they kitchenware, bath and body, home and garden, specialty foods, small gifts? The answer is yes, they are everything. And any new business that comes to Rome, you can bet Living and Giving will mimic and become that business as well. The buyers for this business can be seen in neighboring retail stores with clipboards taking notes and photos for up to hours at a time. Then, magically, a few months later they are carrying the same products as their neighboring retail stores. But fear not, there is always a harmless misunderstanding of an explanation.Retail is competitive in nature, there is no denying that, and sometimes products are limited. Some duplication is inevitable, and every small business in Rome is aware of this fact. Generally, everyone supports one another and does their best to avoid stepping in someone elses lane. As a buyer for a downtown Rome, Ga business, I can attest to the active avoidance of picking up a product that is a fellow stores thing. This business however, has intentionally and repeatedly engaged in direct competition with fellow local businesses for at least the last 10 years, and it has never been a misunderstanding or a harmless act.

This store merely copies other downtown Rome Ga businesses by intentionally carrying the exact same products.
