I specifically asked for a warm bagel with cream cheese. Cashier told me they looked fresh and should be warm. Same person as waiter brought a hard, cold bagel. I asked him to warm it up. He brought back a cold hard bagel. Perhaps theres new management that doesnt know a bagel is not a beige rock with a hole in the middle.

Excellent bagels. Ordering line moved quickly. Food brought to your table promptly. Dining area was a great old diner feel. Visited be breakfast while braving Rockville Pike traffic running errands. Highly recommend is you are looking for an old style bagel place.

I’ve been meaning to visit Bagel City since I moved to the Twinbrook area earlier this year—I loved the cute, hand-drawn artwork in the windows. I’m happy to report that it’s a great place to eat as well! I just grabbed a sandwich before work. Reasonable prices, good portions, and professional and courteous service. I’m definitely coming back :)

Always tasty bagels. These are real deal bagels too, nothing like that grocery store stuff. Order at the counter and then relax while they get everything ready and bring it to your table. They also bus the tables when you are done. The decor is old and could use a refresh, but you wont care because you will eating great bagels.

Came here as a kid pretty much weekly, and theyve kept their roots but grown with the times. Bagels are smaller than youll find at Royal, but theyre good. I cant speak to the sweets.

Very large selection, there are grocery and deli items, an entire wall-fridge full of drinks, so many choices.. The sandwich I ordered was delicious, ready quickly, and brought out to my table. Friendly service, very clean restaurant. First time visit. Would definitely go back.

Went into bagel city for my 90 year old client who was waiting for me in the car. I was told that the bagels that she wanted me to purchase was in the back cooking and will be done in 15 min. I left to go and sit with my client in the car while we waited. When I returned to the store I was told buy the same cashier that I was not able to purchase the bagels. I asked to speak with a manager, he went in the back and she refused to come out. I may not have thought anything of this, but I waited with my 90 year old client in the car for the bagels. I really am not sure I would ever go back.

Had a bit of line but that’s expected on a Sunday morning. Call ahead. Much faster than waiting. Tried the chicken wrap, pizza bagel, eggwich, Oreo brownie and egg salad Sammie. Everything was remarkable! Will absolutely be going back and bringing friends!!

They have really good tuna fish and white pizza bagels , other than that there BAGELS are SO HARD they are horrible. Whoever is baking them over bake. Or they are sitting out to long like stale.. in today’s world bagels should not be hard and over baked you have to please the customer and get it right!!

The bagels Ive had here are very good. The store has been an institution in Rockville for decades. Make sure you get there early on Sundays, as they do run out of bagels later in the day. the product is always fresh and they want to make sure they have little left over at the end.Service can sometimes be a little slow, even if it doesnt appear theyre busy. Overall, its one of the better bagel bakeries in the Washington DC area. Its worth a try from anywhere in Montgomery county and even some places in Virginia. Parking is much easier as compared to Bethesda bagels.

This place is an old standard! Excellent food quality and friendly service. The deliciousness here has been consistent ever since I can remember. I very highly recommend Bagel City for any meal! I cannot stress the value of great food, excellent prices and atmosphere here! Only contructive criticism: bathrooms could use updating and thorough cleaning - but they work and were good enough.

I had the blueberry bagel and my husband had the poppyseed bagle with cream cheese, lox, and capers. Both were absolutely wonderful. The place and the people who worked there were cheerful, and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

I enjoy the bagels, knishes and other baked goods. There are deli sandwiches and lots of spreads for the bagels. The interior has a retro feel.

As always their bagels are the best. Theyre good enough that I frequently get more than one bagel sandwich, one to eat there and one to take home. Their bagel beauty cant be beat.

Bagel City is not good. I have visited only a few times over the years - mostly in a pinch. I have never had a formal sandwich, so I cannot comment on that. However, I have had buttered bagels, melted cheese bagels, lox bagel. Yesterday I visited the store. Their bagels are unsatisfactory. The dining area was health-department filthy: dirty floor, unwiped tables, unbussed tables; food smooshed on the floor that people walked over all day. The staff, while courteous, was either unmotivated or burned out. I ordered a buttered bagel and a cup of coffee in a store with few other customers. Service was slow. A buttered bagel was ready close to 15 minutes after I ordered it. The coffee was high quality but not piping hot. They did not have fresh milk or cream.

Very disappointed with this place. Ordered a bagel with egg and sausage and it was the worst breakfast ive ever had. The egg they put in the bagel was thicker than the bagel itself and the size of the sausage was only big enough to cover a 4th of the bagel. I couldnt believe it.

I called to pre-order a dozen bagels an hour ahead for pick up at 11 am. Come 11:15, there are no bagels for me. I was told to wait another 10 minutes. I sat and waited another 30 minutes and finally right before noon I was handed my order that I had called to order almost 2 hours before that. Not only did I have somewhere to be and spent an hour waiting for a dozen bagels, I was given no explanation from a manager. The only reason I waited is because I was not even offered a refund. I will not be returning.

This is the quintessential DC-suburbs bad bagel place,. I guess its good enough for people who dont know any better, or think Pizza Hut is good pizza? I dont know. This place is NOTHING like a NY-style deli, and not even a good regular bagel place.Everything I had was sub-par. Croissant was a saran wrapped C-shaped piece of challah. NOT an actual flaky croissant. Worse than 7-11. The matzo ball soup is similarly disappointing. lukewarm bowl of institutional chicken soup with one sad matzo ball thrown in, and then garnished with way too much dill. Service is unfriendly; tables are dirty. Only one tea option.I cannot figure out how this is currently a 4-star place. Sad that so many people are being duped into thinking this is actually a good NY-style deli.

Seriously medicore bagels with no taste. Same goes for the ingredients in a bacon egg and cheese. Literally no taste in any of it (salt couldnt rescue it). What I assume was the manager tried to be nice and offer something else, but considering my partners bagel was a similar situation, I declined. Microwaved premade egg batter was unexpected. Waste of money and breakfast opportunity.

I was disrespected insulted and never felt worse. We spent over 200 dollars to buy bagels and cream cheese for a party. The bagels were old and the cream cheese containers were half full. We felt cheated and when we contacted the owner called George, he never apologized but he was worse than his staff. There is no customer service and the owner is very cheap and arrogant. Never ever will do business with that bunch again.

We have been going to Bagel City for years. My wife brought home bagels from BC the other day and I was reminded of how great they are. Some of the other menu items are not stellar but if you want great bagels amd cream cheese this is the place to go. I also have to put a good word in for the chicken salad..... mmmm.

A very loose translation of a bagel place. Soups should be avoided; the pathetic matzoh ball soup will make you cry. The cookies and other baked goods in the glass case are never fresh. Misguided religiocentrism prevents them from offering ham and other pork products. Added a second star for free wireless and for staff clearing tables rather than customers.The person who said people who give this 4 stars would call Pizza Hut good pizza was right on the money. If youve never been to New York this middling approximation of a bagelry will seem amazing.

Ordered a reuben. They brought me corned beef on rye with no thousand island or sauerkraut - I needed to ask for both and assemble my own sandwich. They were stingy on the meat, and the Coleslaw wasnt great. I dont expect stellar for 7 bucks, but expect way better than this.

Waited 30 minutes for 3 bagels with cream cheese....it was not that busy. They were OK. I’ll definitely go somewhere else next time.

Staff is very willing to re-do your order when they mess it up. (There is a massive language barrier; Im a regular and I want to say they have only gotten my order right maybe once or twice.) Just be overly literal and point out the obvious when you order. (For example, if you have drinks and chips that you intend to purchase right in front of you, you need to tell them. Otherwise you will start to pick the items up to take them to your table and they will tell you they didnt charge for the items, because they somehow didnt make the connection that you took the items from the cooler or the shelves and placed them right in front of you because you wanted to purchase them.) Forget ordering an egg bagel because you will get a plain bagel with egg on it, not an egg bagel. (Actual example.) Just take an extra 10 minutes to really spell everything out and explain every single detail and youll be fine.

Bagel City is the bottom of the barrel for bagels in and around Rockville. From the lukewarm milk (hello health hazard) to the giant menu that has dozens of slight variations using the same terrible ingredients - specifically food from Bagel City - this place continuously finds ways to disappoint: dirty tables, microwaved eggs, the aforementioned warm milk... just stat away.

Bagel City has gone way downhill since its ownership exchanged hands. Bagels are stale and tasteless. Service is slow. Decor is the same as it was decades ago.

I have no idea what’s special about this place. Food as no taste ordered a oatmeal in the morning, the spoon was wet in the bag oatmeal was nasty had to throw it away. Live and you learned never again.

Went into the store expecting a plethora of bagels, raisin bagels, blue berry or strawberry bagels, nope the only bagels in the shop were pizza bagels. But they did have a bakery stocked with cannolis and cookies

A a dozen kinds of sandwiches and a whole lot of what a real bagel stop is about cream cheese and bagels and maybe a little lox, for example. Maybe you prefer white fish salad or something else.These bagels are scrumptious.A little bit firm on the outside a little bit soft on the inside. When you bite through the soft crunch of a properly made bagel and get to the perfectly baked interior well risen with just enough air holes to know it was cooked right. YummyThe atmosphere is open with a lot of tables and chairs very New York style ungreasy spoon. There might be some of the newspapers in a pile for you to read the part you want from it. Theres 8 refrigerated cases of drinks in the form of milks and juices. And all the types of cream cheese they sell in the store. And a few other things you might want that go with Bagels they even have a few things that dont go with Bagels like chips.The bathrooms are large and clean very clean the whole place it looks really clean. All the tables and chairs are clean and when you get up somebody comes over and cleans it right then so other people can sit down, sometimes this place gets really busy. Like on Sunday mornings when the hubby goes out to buy a dozen bagels for the family back home right from the oven to the table via dad. Or Mom its rarely both.Big windows open up to a broad parking lot and fills the place with lots of light. Despite the small metal chairs with good cushions the place is comfortable and Im not comfortable in a alot of chairs. Im a really big guyBagel City is the kind of place you can pull up to in your car or walk up from the bus stop on the corner corner. Come out of one of the new high-rise is right in the neighborhood. And always get a good fresh bagel with a schmear. I used to drop by just to pick up a couple to eat during the day as a healthy snack on days when I knew I was working out or not working out

The owner is not the friendliest man.The chips were nice.. my dog liked them this time...not the burnt ones through.Dont recommend.... there are other Jewish Restaurants...that wont be tooo expensive+ with complete orders.Hope this helps the PUBLIC.

Compared to some of the other bagels around the, these bagels are sub-par. Ive been here 3 times now, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but each time the bagels tasted stale, and the cream cheese just isnt up to my quality of standard. Not the mention the menu is really, REALLY overwhelming the minute you step in. Why are there so many items on the menu? Its crazy, and gives me an anxiety attack just looking at it. Id eat here or come back if there was a discount or coupon, but would rather go to other bagel shops in the area otherwise.
