Apex Piano Showroom is a beautiful piano store. We were in the area for a camping trip and the owner, Steve Gross, allowed our daughter to perform a virtual recital from the showroom. He encouraged her to choose the piano to use which was very exciting for her! She had a great experience thanks to Steve and his generosity. If I were buying a new piano, I would definitely come to Apex.

I am BEYOND THRILLED with my new Yahama S3X grand piano from Apex Pianos. I had no idea what was behind the doors of the showroom, but was so pleased to find that such a place exists in Roanoke. I was able to trial multiple models and sizes of grand pianos. Steve, the owner, was so knowledgeable about every facet of the history and production of not only Yamaha pianos, but many others in the industry. He was able to guide me to the absolute perfect piano for my skill level, home size, and budget. He wasn’t pushy at all and gave me plenty of time to play on the pianos. I believe I was there for over 4 hours the first time I visited. Steve, David, Paul, Tony and Bryson make such a great team. They provide absolutely wonderful customer service from the first inquiry to the final delivery and beyond. I feel like I’m part of their family now. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I’ve had my piano for about a week now and have been playing nonstop. We started looking for a piano for my 13 year old son who has been taking lessons for 3 years. We wanted to upgrade from the keyboard that we had. Our living room is small so we needed something that would work for us. Apex Piano Showroom was amazing to work with. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and provided great customer service. Wow, just wow! The folks at Apex Piano Showroom made my musical dreams come true! After 3 frustrating years of shopping used pianos, I walked into Apex. There is an array of new instruments from digital pianos to different sizes of upright and grand acoustic pianos. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. They listened to me and genuinely wanted to assist and guide me in the process. I was astonished to find I could own a gorgeous new piano for not much more than a quality used one elsewhere (far less than what I thought a new upright would cost). Not to mention a guarantee, future trade-up value, free delivery and free removal of my old, antique piano. They have low-interest financing if you need it. The movers really knew what they were doing... very professional. And, they will try to tune and donate my old piano to someone which makes me very happy, as it was sentimental to me. My new Yamaha B3 is incredible! I feel like I upgraded from a Model T to a Ferrari. The sound, touch and beauty of the piano is amazing. It will bring me lots of joy the rest of my life. The team from Apex arrived on time, worked very quickly but carefully, were in and gone with the old Marantz player piano safely and securely loaded in very short order. On the delivery end, they, once again, worked very efficiently, but cautiously, offloaded and set up the piano in about 20 minutes. I cant imagine a piano relocation going more smoothly and professionally as was this one. The cost was also very reasonable. We highly recommend Apex for your next piano relocation.

We were pandemic-buying a digital piano and trying to find a good deal. Due to crazy demand, all the online retailers were out of stock of the model we were looking for. I called around the local dealers and ended up heading in to Apex to talk price. I decided to purchase from Apex because the price was right, and more importantly, they are a local business that cares about real customer relationships. There was no pressure to purchase, instead there was a seriously-knowledgeable staff, both on Yamaha products as well as the comparable models from the competition. Though took a bit of time for my piano to make it to the store, Steve was diligent to keep in touch and relay any updates he received from the factory. I had an incredible experience working with Steve and David at Apex. A friend in Virginia who bought a piano from Steve suggested I contact him about buying a digital piano and having it delivered to my home in Florida. Steve was wonderful to talk to and work with. After I told him what I was looking for, Steve suggested the Yamaha Clavinova CSP 170. Steve had it delivered to my home and arranged for the local dealer to unpack it and set it up for me. When you first walk into this place one of the first thing youll notice (other than the absolutely gorgeous pianos on the show room floor) is how great the place sounds. That might not be something most people notice but it is something that jumped out to me that showed how serious this place was about the customer experience. Then I noticed the Allen organs and knew this was a place Id be a customer of for years to come.Initially I was looking at getting a Clavinova CSP-170 Upright but after a number of discussions with Steve and David decided to go with the P-515 for my temporary home recording setup. While the CSP series is amazing they helped me realize a portable digital piano would really fit my current needs until I have my new home studio built later this year. Wound up having them special order the white version of it for me and they had it in for delivery within a few weeks, which was amazing. Due to supply issues the white stand for it is still on backorder but Apex was nice enough to loan me a double X stand to use in the interim.In this age of everyone racing to cut margins and selling online with next to zero customer experience being able to go into an actual brick-and-mortar and talk with people that actually listen to you and understand the products and your needs is amazing.

This was a five star experience in every way. I am a professor in the music school at Liberty Universe. I have a Yamaha C3 grand in my home studio here in Roanoke. My wife and I wanted to buy a new piano for my daughter and two granddaughters in Franklin, TN. Steve and the good folks at Apex Piano Showroom made it easy and seamless. Steve gave us great advice and a great deal—much better pricing than I would have gotten if I had bought the piano in the Nashville area. Apex gave us better pricing than I could obtain anywhere else; even online (including Amazon). PLUS, the customer service was fabulous. My purchase was for a church that had a piano go out. So, getting a piano quickly was important. Apex got us a loaner piano to use until our own piano arrived. They delivered and set it up for FREE and then delivered our new piano when it arrived and switched out the loaner for FREE. So, we had zero down time. Extremely courteous employees. Nothing negative to report about our experience with Apex. 100% recommend them! We will be shopping with them when we need new instruments!

Have been enjoying my brand new Yamaha Avant Garde N2 hybrid piano from APEX Piano Showroom for almost a week. I went there about a month ago, originally interested in the Clavinova CLP-685. Steve welcomed me into the store and allowed me to play around on some of the other models as well. After telling him that the most important thing I wanted to get out of an electric piano was a VERY comparable touch, keyboard-wise, to a real piano, he suggested that I try out the Avant Garde N1X hybrid piano. The difference was night and day. I left there thinking I would get that one, but after doing a little research, I found that the N2 had the TRS feature (Tactile Response System) and better speakers, I decided to upgrade to the N2. It was a little pricier than the N1, but I figured it was worth it since the touch feel was the most important aspect of my new piano. Steve was super helpful and knowledgeable about all the bells and whistles of the N2. Now I just have to do some serious re-learning on those Hanon scale exercises! :)

We purchased the Yamaha P515, with the sand and pedals at the beginning of quarantine so my daughter could learn something new. The sound is absolutely stunning, it is easy to set up and thankfully fits in a small room. When we started looking we had no idea what we needed (or wanted) for her. David took the time to help us figure out exactly which one would best serve our needs. he asked a lot of questions, and sent us a few to choose from giving us the pros and cons based on our conversations. Once it was ordered it came quickly - David kept track of when it was delivered and made sure that it was the perfect choice for us.

Steve is a dream maker and overall great guy. For years I wanted a modern player piano but the cost was too prohibitive. About 3 years later Steve found me a great deal on a Disklavier upright and was extremely helpful assisting with technical issues making all the midi connections. I have been looking for a piano for decades but had not found the right one to meet my needs in terms of compact size and tonal color/qualities, yet with the ability to wear headphones to practice and not wake a soul. Digital pianos that I had played before never felt or sounded quite right to me.I had become interested in looking at a piano again inspired by the Piano Guys recent contest in giving away a Clavinova during the months of the pandemic. After seeing what they could do, I was amazed and just had to see a new one myself.The showroom had not yet had its Grand opening. I was welcomed warmly by Steve Gross who truly loves the Yamaha company and their instruments. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who is more knowledgeable about many aspects of the piano business who can also give you such intricate details about the different pianos/instruments he sells.He has a keen appreciation about this business and understands that the right instrument when shown properly to its best capabilities will sell itself. There was never any pressure and being in the show room was a fun and unique experience. They have a wide range of Yamaha keyboard/pianos/hybrids side by side in the same acoustical setting.Steve wants you to find the right piano for your situation and needs. He was absolutely right that the Clavinova CSP-170 that initially caught my eye was not the one I really needed and wanted in my life.He introduced me to the AvantGrand N2. I could not have asked for a more perfect piano to meet my needs. The compact size of an upright with the sound and feel of a grand piano worth many times more its selling price. This piano can make a simple beginner sound amazing.Words alone cannot describe this piano. You have to play it/see it and hear it to truly appreciate what Yamaha has done. It truly has a grand piano action, and feel when playing. Yet, it does not have any strings like a traditional acoustic piano. That means you will never have to have this piano tuned. It will always sound this good.Subtle differences in the models made a world of difference to me and I would not have otherwise appreciated it as much until I got it home. I love that this piano even feels like real ivory and has real wood keys. The differences in the pedal action between the different hybrid piano models was crucial for me. However, should I ever change my mind in the next 5 years, he is willing to let me trade up to something else.He offers pricing second to none and has been always available to reach and ask questions without a hint of pressure. This is the 2nd Yamaha piano that I have been involved in buying and by far my favorite one to buy. I have met a lot of piano salesmen in the past and many of them are high pressure. Not here. You are truly free to play them and explore each of them, to compare the different ones as he knows that this is a very personal choice, and one you cannot make without ample time and space.Delivery was simple to arrange and they take loving care of the piano as they deliver it.I am absolutely delighted having this piano in my home. I am so grateful that I was able to meet Steve and learn about this fine instrument. I am so looking forward to learning to play again and introduce my son to the joy of being able to play.Steve, thank you for introducing me to the piano of my dreams.

The Yamaha AvantGrand N2 sold itself. Steve was very helpful. The showroom was not completed at the time we were ready to purchase. Steve met us there among all the construction chaos and crated pianos. Steve had uncrated a N2 just to let us try it out. The piano was delivered promptly without a scratch.
