I came in to get my hair done in the salon. I saw Bri Akers and let me tell you she is a magician! I have been wanting to go grey for almost 2 years and have gone to see countless people and she has been able to do what no one else has been able to. I love it! It was expensive but I was there for almost 5 hours. Worth every penny

Love Ulta but the long lines need to go. I guess certain days (weekends is when I usually go) are the worst.. This was the same pre-Covid so its not staffing shortage due to that. Other than that, its great. Love having one in Roanoke!

Ive never done makeup before, but Ive always wanted to give it a shot. The attendant was so sweet and knowledgeable, and she was so much nicer about a guy wanting to try makeup than some of the people about to comment angrily on this post.Seriously, theyre amazing folks and they know their makeup!

The staff are helpful and welcome you to the store. I almost always find what I am looking for here. Its a very popular place, so be prepared to stand in line to check out, especially on the weekends.

My stylist Sarah was absolutely wonderful! The color we chose is perfect, the cut was excellent and she is very personable and friendly. I will definitely get my hair done by her from now on.

I purchased a Dyson hairdryer ($399) online on 12/31, I was charged and received notification it shipped. The box that arrived only contained the free attachment; when I called I was told the holiday set was out of stock and my only option was a refund...after 8 days of waiting. Sephora ships incredibly faster and I’ve never had this issue with them, I’m never shopping Ulta again especially for a purchase this big. Unacceptable.

I came to get my kiddos their hair cuts!! Jasmine was fantastic. Jackie was amazing too. Every person I spoke to there was so kind and their customer service is excellent!! Very pleased.

Most disgusting customer service I have ever encountered in my entire life. Almost like they were getting enjoyment from making me unhappy.

I can honestly say this store has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. I gave them two chances and sadly both times their staff were horrific. The first time was last month, July 2020. My son and I were screamed at before we even fully entered the store! Both of us were wearing masks and were genuinely excited to go to Ulta because Lynchburg doesnt have a store. The majority of the employees were gathered at the front chatting less than a foot apart from each other. They tersely told us to keep our masks on and follow the arrows. At one point we were made to feel uncomfortable because an employee literally followed us and was closer than 6 feet. The Jeffree Star palletes with the Morphe collab were suppose to be marked down but werent. The overall feel was hostility.My second trip was a week ago, September 9, 2020. The sales associates werent gathered this time. However, no one was around at all when I needed to ask some questions. The cashier had several people in line and appeared to be the only one working. Another customer and I agreed that no one seemed interested in helping us, so we left. I feel that the way you treat someone who wants to purchase an expensive pallete would be treated nicer but apparently not. I ended up ordering it online from a different company.

Very great selection and my wife loves the place. The mens section could have more product buuut it is a make-up store after all.

I used to be a regular customer at this place. I spent 4 hours at this mall, and every time I told someone I’m exempt from wearing masks, they didn’t give me any flack about it. I am extremely claustrophobic and planned on being in there for a while longer than I can handle with a face covering. I told an employee at this Ulta the same thing when asked to wear one, but she responded saying their management tells them to kick anyone out who refuses to wear one, even if they’re exempt. This is very rude, and I know that any business who uses the excuse “we have to make you wear one,” is dishonest. Every business has the choice, nobody is forcing their hands except management themselves. The fact that we can’t sample makeup anymore is hard enough. I walked out and went to Sephora instead.(;

The ladies who were on shift when I visited were so nice and understanding. I had never actually been inside an Ulta before and they were all so great about it. They didnt make me feel more overwhelmed and they didnt buzz around me like predatory birds. The store was bright and clean, and word of advice for anyone who goes to beauty stores like this: be easy on the display makeup! It costs nothing to act like you have sense and swatch sensibly!!

Customer service is the absolute WORST experience. I placed an order online and never received the order or the $210.08 in a refund or replacement. I was basically told by the escalations department that it was my problem to deal with and that USPS delivered the package. A completely horrible experience and I will never shop with this company again, online or in store. The phone reps were rude and not helpful at all. I’m completely disgusted and plan to tell everyone I know to shop elsewhere. I would pay double for merchandise at the competition before shopping here again!!

It was a ro ky start placed my order online for a grill to be put together on 9/3/20 said it would a little longer than usual due to covid-19 will email didnt hear anything so on Thursday 9/10 I called to see if it was ready and they told me I could come pick it up on Friday 9/12 for my husbands birthday

I cant say enough good things about this store. the staff is super nice and very friendly. My wife and I got our brows waxed and Sarah was wonderful. She did a great job and was very nice along the way. I asked her about the products she was using and knew the ingredients, what they were used for and what other products would have the same ingredients. My wife and I both enjoy makeup and well continue to shop here!

I love Ulta and most of what Ulta carries, but the customer service here has been atrocious. If I notice a change I will change my rating but it is downright unpleasant to be in there sometimes. Still a great option to swatch and see products in person....but maybe buy them online so you dont have to deal with the staff.

Everyone is super friendly and upbeat! Elizabeth guided me through the procees of identifying my skin concerns, answered all of my questions and shared wonderful insight and advice. I couldnt be happier with my experince and I plan on returning and requesting Elizabeth for services in the future! Its nice to know people really do care and genuinely want to help others to the best if their ability.

I came from out of town for a graduate school interview. Due to weather travel plans had been changed and my carry on luggage I was told to check at my origin gate never made it to my redirected final flight in lynchburg. Needless to say I had absolutely nothing and needed to go and repurchase most everything. I wish I knew who helped me but I was greeted really friendly. Explained my situation and was instantly taken around the store to find every product that I needed. Ive visited other Ultas in my area and never had that great of a response. Great job to the friendly employees who were working the evening of Feb 13th!

Ulta has the best staff especially Sarah at The Benefit Bar!!!! I only had one problem in all my many years of shopping here 2 to 3 times a week. That was a one off with a then cosmetologist that was extremely rude and condescending to me over the phone. I will never forget how she made me feel. However everyone at the Ulta at Valley View with this exception has been overwhelmingly kind and helpful. I can not say enough good about everyone at Ulta and all their wonderful high quality products. I hope that it continues to be the this way for years to come.

So happy! Found a great new foundation thanks to one of the girls there, wish I remembered her name, but ended up here twice in the last week, and everything was great, best ULTA Ive ever been to. No one was uppity or anything like that, (which Ive witnessed in stores like this before) must have great management here! Well done!!

Experienced employees need to be trained properly so there able to match customers with right complexion palettes I wasted $22 since one failed to do so. There are no samples out individual samples would help.

My 2 daughters and I were the only customers in the store with 7 employees that I counted. Only 1 asked if she could help me. I dont need help but the BIRTHDAY girl up there with the blonde hair does. Did she go up and ask my if she needed help? No. And she was going to buy Smashbox, allot of it too. We bought a makeup sponge instead. When the cashier, purple and pink hair, asked if we found everything, I explained what happened... IN FRONT OF HER MANAGER! Not even an, Im so sorry! What can I help with? Im a retail manager and had any of my associates done this or someone told me this was their experience, I would immediately apologize and offer whatever help I could to rectify the situation. Ill be working in that mall soon but I wont be back to that Ulta.

I had a wonderful experience at Ulta today. I was a first-time salon customer and my stylist Jillian was personable, professional, and did a great job. Plus the prices are great! Will definitely be coming back for my styling and beauty needs!

There is a shorter black lady w/glasses working in here at Ulta. Not sure of her name but I came to help a girl friend inquire about some make ups and this lady said *I am just going to do something really quick, ill circle back around the store and get right back with you*. She never came back. I also saw her talking with 2 other customers. She made direct eye contact with me too and walked in the other direction after speaking to those 2 customers. Very poor customer service skills from this lady... I did get the information I needed but I wasnt happy with the customer service I received from that shorter black lady w/glasses.

Great selection and deals on many, many cosmetics and fragrances. Like a cosmetics superstore. I like the fact that everything is in one place, pricier to more moderately priced. You can also compare items brand-wise.

Hair designer Gabby in the salon is the BEST!!! You will never be disappointed booking your salon appointment with her! Cutting off my super long hair was so scary but Gabby went above and beyond with it and I left with amazing hair that I loveeedddd and still do! Not to mention her product recommendations are spot on! All of the other staff that I interacted with along the way were so sweet and helpful as well! Couldn’t have been happier!!

Hes very professional and right on time.He did an amazing job.The salon was very clean.Everybody was nice and had very good customer service. Tyshaun has a customer for life. Good job .Im very satisfied. Cant wait to go back

Good products but pricey. I had a sales associate that helped me and she said the products she helped me pick out were buy 2 get one free. When I got to the register they said that was wrong and wouldnt give me the discount even after I told them the associate stated it. That was disappointing because I didnt get the third item because they were all expensive.

There isnt much they dont have in the beauty area. One caution. Load up that debit card 😉

Do not go for mens cuts. Completely horrible haircut by master stylist, came back to get it fixed by other master stylist who rolled her eyes and mocked us to her other clients. Barely gave us the time of day, and then attitude on top of it. THIS is why youre losing all your business to J Roberts Salon.. but thanks for complaining about that to me so at least I know where to go. Not to mention the excruciating line/wait to check out. We are standing there in line with a dozen other people and the ONE cashier walks away because a customer brought up a tester instead of the product and literally left everyone standing there alone. I set my stuff on the counter and walked out. Count this as two customers lost.

Super great customer service and a great place to ask questions and learn about make-up, skincare, haircare, etc. The store is easy to navigate, but sometimes what you are looking for might not be right where you expect - feel free to ask the employees though, they are super helpful!
