Should you call a customer by their first name? Technically, its not appropriate to use a persons first name, without permission. The right thing to do is use an honorific (Mr., Ms., Mrs., Dr. ...) until the person says, “Please call me (first name).”Hello everyone I started this review this way to provide a point…My husband and I met Mr. Jim Murray at the Greensboro Coliseum… Raleigh door center was there along with other companies too. Their doors are undeniably beautiful! We fell in love with the iron doors.I read the reviews… none of them scared me but I wish I had taken (heed) to what some of the low reviews said! The owner came out to our home, measured the area but something kept me from ordering right away. The owner wants to be friends right away; he wants to call you by your first name even though I as the customer asked him repeatedly not do that!I even gave him reason(s) why I prefer that he used my last name! He totally disregarded my request. I am very happy my husband and I opt to not get the doors from Raleigh Door because he said and I quote…He does not call people by their last name because he does not do business that way. Not only him but his entire staff is unwilling to call you by your legal name that starts with a Mr. or Mrs.! I wanted the doors so badly; I asked if they could call me by my last name without the Mrs.? He said no… he does not do business that way.Money is green; we are not friends, neighbors, colleges and I do not work for him, right? So, why would a person in business have a problem calling a customer by his or her last name?I am not saying not to do business with Mr. Jim Murray. I am saying he does not respect his customers’ wishes by calling them by their last name, even if you take the Mrs. OFF. LOLWOW right? His doors are beautiful, he makes the wood doors in his shop and they too are beautiful. HOWEVER THE IRON DOORS ARE MADE IN CHINA.As for us... we decided to move on and we did find another beautiful door.I hope this helps someone.

Our door looks amazing! Jim is a good guy and his installers were great too. The door installed flawlessly in our existing house. Several weeks later everything is still perfect. Thanks!

Beautiful door, excellent service. They even came out to do a minor repair three years after installation the same day called (well out of warranty.)Just to be clear this company installs high-end doors, so if youre looking to save money find a good quality used door at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store and have a handyman install it for you.

Our door is pretty, door frame is awful, and customer service stank. Wish I had the same company these other reviewers seemed to ha e because our experience with Raleigh Doors was not this. Very disappointed in the whole experience.

We had interior steel doors custom made by Raleigh Door. Their service was friendly and above and beyond as these HUGE doors had to be moved up two flights of stairs! They are BEAUTIFUL, heavy and fit our custom space perfectly. SO happy!

They have a nice product and do good work. You have to watch your money with them though. They will try to keep your deposit if you are not paying attention. When I was picking out my door, another customer was in the store to retrieve her deposit. Then after installing my door they gave me a bill for the entire amount without crediting me for my $2,200 deposit.

My husband and I used Raleigh Door to replace our front door with a fabulous cast iron and glass door. We love the door and their installers were extremely professional. Lynn McNeillie

Raleigh Door did a beautiful, careful, and courteous job on our new front doors. The owner was great to work with on design and planning for a large entry space with challenging brickwork. The installers took great care, paid attention to detail, and tried to make sure all was perfect for us. In comparison to a previous install we did ourselves, the price was impressive and very fair to cover the custom doors + transom and multiple days of labor for install and finishing.

We meet with Raleigh door center in December a were told that the process would take aprox 6 to 8 weeks. After waiting 5 months they finally showed up to install the doors. The back door was warped and the front door was not the right size. This is after the owner personally came to the house to measure it.When they finally brought the doors back the trim was pieced together and the stain finish was not uniform. After many phone calls with the owner about the quality of the workmanship and he refusing to come inspect it himself we had them remove the doors. The only reason I give it 1 star is because you cant post with 0 stars.
