The new owners/staff are awesome. I was there last year and was NOT impressed with the owners/staff at all. My prescription was never correct and was never rectified, although I returned several times, with complaints regarding the clarity of the prescription. The optomologist went out of his way in choosing several frames that he though would suit me while I was in the exam room, now that was impressive. Really friendly and knowledgeable young man. Ill update when I receive my eyeglasses. 🕶

Great experience - wonderful staff! Ive worn glasses/contacts from a very young age and have been to a LOT of optical offices. The entire process from start to finish with The Eye Institute was top notch. They staff are amazingly friendly, the offices super clean, and my appointment not only ran on time but all of the information I needed after was already ready for me at check out to make the whole experience as efficient as possible. I would 100% recommend TEI and their team to anyone needing an eye check-up or contact/glasses exam.

Back in June it was time for my annual eye examination and I did not want to go back to my old eye place. Some times these eye places can get so overwhelmed that they no longer give that personal experience.I had seen this place over the years but never stopped to check them out. I was truly blessed that day because at the time I did not know the ophthalmologist that did my eye examination was one of the owners.I appreciate him taking his time to make me feel welcomed and that my eyes had his undivided attention. He has me fitted with the best contacts I have ever had, seeing the best ever before too. I have a rare condition and he is very knowledgable of my situation and he and his office have worked so well with my insurance. I have been blessed!

My experience at the Eye Institute was awful. I have severe dry eyes and the eye doctor did not help provide any suggestions or even the best contacts to try and then did not record my needed contacts prescription correctly. The wrong contacts were ordered for me. They did credit my account, but my insurance was used so I lost a few hundred dollars by going to them. I would not recommend.

There were NO SURPRISES! After they checked my insurance, all deductibles and expenses were announced/discussed BEFORE incurred. The interaction with the doctor was a great conversation. When speaking with the optician, transparency was again, top-notch...he had my insurance details on the table before providing an exact estimate.

Dr Palo was very kind and thoughtful. My daughter has unique vision situation and he took his time with us and figured out what would be best for her. The office staff and gentleman that helped her select glasses was great as well. Very knowledgeable and kind staff.

I visited The Eye Institute, North Raleigh location. I had a positive experience and finally got a much needed complete eye exam. Dr. Morgan was courteous and listen to my concerns and answered all my questions. He took the time to run my vision tests and explained everything he was doing so I will have a clear understanding. This was my first time and I had a great experience from the front desk to technician to Dr Palo. Everyone was so helpful . This was my first visit to this office and it was a very good experience. Dr. Morgan was knowledgeable, informative, efficient, humorous and courteous, as were all the staff that I met with. He even took the time to demonstrate why my current glasses were not optimal. (They were not even close to what they should have been!) Dr. Morgan explained carefully his findings and treatment. I had a wonderful 1st experience at The Eye Institute! It was my daughters 1st full eye exam & everyone there made her feel special, safe, & they were very patient with her! Dr Morgan was wonderful with her & she left saying he was her friend!

I had a good experience during my initial visit as a new patient but will not be returning since their customer service is the worst. They had to order trial contacts because they dint keep enough in stock and charge a $10 shipping fee. Ive been shunned from the practice as they will not return my phone calls to place an order, after leaving several messages with Lisa. Im just supposed to know exactly what I need without trial lenses.. obviously i will not return. Just had an eye exam at My Eye Dr and they were able to determine the exact lense that works perfectly, no trials needed !!!

They have COVID screening precautions in place so I felt safe and comfortable. The selection of frames was excellent and very fashionable. Dr. Morgan and the team in the North Raleigh location are impressive to say the least. I have been to several eye doctors in the past, but this was by far the BEST experience I ever had. They are the most knowledgeable and thorough group I have seen. For years I struggled with glasses after having a less than desirable experience with contacts in my past. Dr. Morgan seemed excellent to me but be aware this office is very strict on time. I went in about 10 minutes late and they didnt see me. I understand it is my fault but the office staff was not kind enough to even offer me to reschedule my appointment or try to accomodate me at a different time. I guess they didnt needed my business. But I was pleased with the care of Dr. Morgan with my son. He seemed knowledgable and caring and would like to continue his care there.

Their staff has been super friendly and courteous. Everything is currently being wiped down with alcohol and sterilized so I dont feel nervous about going in.Dr. Morgan has been the absolute best. Dr. Morgans diagnosis of the cause of my impaired vision (cataracts) was right on the money! After surgery, the vision in both eyes was restored to what it should be, making me a happy camper.

I liked the personnel there very much, especially the doctor, and I found a pair of glasses that I love. I did experience a miscommunication with the person who made the appointment. All I wanted was a refraction and prescription for new glasses. Instead she made the appointment for a complete eye exam. I was there for an hour and a half, when what I needed was just a refraction, which takes 10-15 minutes. I hope my insurance will cover this exam, however, I believe my Opthalmologist has already billed for a complete eye exam. Well see.

From the moment I stepped inside until the door closed upon my exit I sensed I was cared for. Yes, the most up-to-date machines are part of the annual exam, but in the final analysis in all matters is the human heart. This is the frame under which Dr Morgan offers his professional expertise. This is my reason for choosing his practice for it is my belief that this dynamic is the link to true healing.

Good docs and staff but way too expensive. Unhappy that I was uninformed about costs before receiving care and only after did I know the cost. If I wouldve known the cost previously, I wouldve gone to a cheaper place that better matches my insurance.Doctors and insurance companies as providers will always play a part in the blame game of costs. However, perhaps reminding patients to look at costs before coming is a good preventative idea.

I had the displeasure of working with Amber Hinshaw. The purpose of my visit was to spend the funds I have on my flexible spending account before the end of the year. I brought with me a frame that I previously purchased at this location, with the hope of finding the same frame or something similar. My experience with Amber was absolutely disgusting. She was rude, unfriendly, and unwilling to help me find a pair of eyewear. Most of all, and the reason for my review, Amber walked away and returned to the back office while I was in mid-sentence.  She dismissed me as if I was a “no one”.The behavior and attitude Amber demonstrated was shocking, she acted as though she has done this in the past. Amber was too comfortable to display her rudeness openly while in front of other customers and her coworkers. I was absolutely embarrassed.Today, you lost my business. My purchase would have been “low-hanging fruit” for your company. It could have very well helped your office meet your quota for the day or even month. I can assure you I would have purchased 3 more frames had I received the same level of customer service I received back in 2018

My daughter suggested I see Dr. Chad Morgan for my annual eye exam. I’m very happy I heeded her advice! Over the past several months I’ve experienced a lot of health and vision changes. Dr. Morgan was very thorough as he went over my medical history and prescription medication. I like that we discussed my concerns before the actual examination. The exam itself was very relaxed, not rushed. I appreciated how he explained his findings and made recommendations in a direct Fashion. He also stressed the importance of of being proactive with eye health and recommended several things to keep my eyes protected and healthy: special vitamins, daily lubricating eye drops for a healthy tear layer and a anti-glare/blue light blocker lens treatment. My eyeglass prescription is spot on perfect! I’m amazed I had no adjustment period. Usually acclimating to new prescription lenses takes a couple of days, this time I put them on and kept on going! Nothing like Crystal Clear Vision🤓😎 Thank you Dr Morgan for providing outstanding eye care in a relaxed, educational environment!

We are new to Raleigh and my son lost his glasses, so we got a friend recommendation to come see Dr. Chad Morgan. My son has very difficult to diagnose/medically plan for eyes. We have been to Children’s hospital in DC multiple times (where we moved from) and they are impressive there, but Dr. Morgan was above and beyond any eye doctor we have ever seen. When talking to me he may have noticed, and seen me that day, for a potentially dangerous eye situation which we are doing more tests for. If there was a rating higher than 5 I would give it now and I never write a review I do not mean whole heartedly. The staff was all very helpful and friendly.

I was a first time patient who drove an hour to this appointment and it was well worth it. Super friendly helpful staff and Dr. Morgan was great. Appointment didn’t feel rushed at all and he took the time to answer all my questions and provided good explanation of what he was recommending and why. He even offered me coffee and a donut while I waited for him to attend to an emergency appointment that came in. Even with the emergency I waited all of 10 minutes which was fine. Tiffany helped me pick out some great frames and made sure I was maximizing my insurance benefits since I was getting glasses and contacts. Overall it was a great visit and I look forward to making this my eye doctor’s office for a long time!

EPIC FAIL TODAY!!A few weeks back, my wife got some debris in her eye while doing yard work. After a couple days, it was apparent that my wife needed to get her eye checked because the irritation wasnt going away. I recommended The Eye Institute to her based on my previous good experience with Dr. Palo. Two weeks ago she had a virtual appointment with Dr. Morgan who prescribed her an antibiotic and drops. Still experiencing some irritation, she made an in-person appointment with Dr. Morgan for today which went south very quickly!After a very lengthy covid preventive check in process, we sat down to wait for Dr. Morgan to call her in. A short time later, we are approached by the receptionist who stated that their particular facility (Colonnade Center) was not a part of our insurance companies network, but their other Raleigh location was. What? Arent all three of your offices under the same ownership? Before my wifes virtual appointment two weeks ago she gave you her insurance info and there was no problem then or when I had my appointment months ago? If there was an issue, do you think maybe my wife could have been notified PRIOR to her appointment today? Upon hearing this, we immediately called our insurance company (we never left their facility) and after a lengthy hold it was determined that our insurance DID cover her previous medical eye exam and the one scheduled for today! Relieved to hear this, we then went back up to the receptionist to let her know but unfortunately we lost our appointment for today. WHAT!!?? The receptionist then indignantly told us that wed have to reschedule again!Let me get this straight ... after my wife lost 2 hours of work getting off early to make her appointment, then driving 25 minutes across town and then being on the phone for over 30 minutes with our insurance company trying to resolve a problem that didnt really exist if your staff would have been more proactive in thoroughly verifying our coverage, you dont have the decency to fit us in again??!!Needless to say, my wife is still in pain and we now have to start looking for a new eye doctor quickly ... THANKS EYE INSTITUTE!!

Dr. Morgan is an excellent doctor who takes the time to explain whats happening and answer concerns you may not have about your eyesight. I followed him from his previous practice and now drive 30 minutes to see him because I didnt want to lose him as a doctor. His office staff and technicians are professional, efficient, and pleasant. I have been going to (various) ODs across several states for the past 30 years. Ive never had a more thorough exam than the one given at Eye Institute. Besides the normal tests (glaucoma, digital imaging, etc) they also did a tear duct and eyelash/parasite check. What? Never heard of those two before - nice.Dr. Morgan is fantastic, amazing chairside manner. Welcomes questions and spends a good amount of time (15 mins) with you explaining what he sees. No hard up-sell on things like glasses or contacts either.Would recommend without reservation.

Dr. Morgan is the best! I have various eye challenges. I wore contacts daily for decades and then my eyes got dryer and less comfortable in them. He has been incredibly patient identifying new lenses that have given me the freedom of bifocal contacts. We have moved many times so I have seen many doctors. I regrettably had to find another eye doctor because my doctor left the practice and went into another specialty.I am SO GLAD that I stumbled onto this practice. Everyone was very laid back and I didn’t feel like I was walking into a car dealership when I walked in the door, bedside manner was superb, the exam was thorough and the office is pretty.The best part, the glasses that I didn’t feel I was forced into buying are AMAZING!! These are the clearest glasses I have ever have. I have good vision but these make everything crystal clear! AND there is a 2 year warranty on the lenses and frames.I am so happy to have found my new eye doctor!!

I have been to this location twice and the computer system has been down both times. The front staff is nice, but they rush through everything and brush over explaining things relating to insurance and payment. I saw a different doctor each time, which I did not prefer, but both were very thorough. However, they both had completely different plans of care.

My appointment to get fitted for contacts was amazing, the doctor was very patient with me and explained everything. However, the front desk miscalculated prices and contact fittings, which resulted in a bill over a month after my appointment. Even though the front desk admitted it was their error, I was still required to pay the bill. I thought I found my new eye doctor, but all of the issues with the front desk are forcing me to find a new one.

Doctor Chad Moore is a superb optometric physician with a wonderful bedside manner. He is very thorough and goes to great length to educate the patient about their eye condition(s). He is particularly adept at fitting contact lenses. I was seen timely and treated very well by every member of his team. The practice has invested in state of the art technology for diagnosing eye pathology which I find impressive. I recommend him highly and without reservation as the consummate professional. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Morgan and his staff are great. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They really seem to care about what they do, and the appointment does not feel rushed at all - Dr. Morgan is patient and kind, and very thorough with his evaluation and recommendations.

Professional, friendly staff. Dr. Morgan is excellent. I had struggled to see clearly post surgery on one eye. Two different optometrists were unable to help,but Dr. Morgan was able to help me see clearly again! There is a bit of an art, not just science to finding the right prescription and Dr Morgan has that gift. My son also sees him and he is able to relate well with kids.

I was referred to Dr. Morgan by my opthamologist because he is willing and extremely patient at working with those that need hard-to-fit contact lenses. My experience was amazing. Dr. Morgan clearly enjoys his patients and his work and I am the beneficiary of his dedication to helping people.My vision was deteriorating with my soft lenses to the point at which I was worried about my future quality of life. By fitting me with scleral lenses he has given me better vision than I have had in 15 (or more years). I would refer anyone to this office and hope to return for many years to come!
