My second set of speakers from sound stage. They do impeccable work, they will service your car with utmost professionalism. Great staff and they listen to what you need and suggest other opinions. And there prices may be a little higher than Amazon but not by much. Highly recommended.

I dont often post reviews, but I recently upgraded the sound system in my boat and worked directly with Waiel who is the President of SS&S. I cant be more happy with the service and quality of work I received from all of them. They made a custom enclosure for the sub which Im more than happy with, they also cleaned up the look of all the components. I bugged Waiel a few times with questions both during and off hours. He got back to me promptly and took the time to answer my question in detail (the man is busy!). I knew going into this it was going to be a little on the expensive side, but I wanted the right components and done right too. They did that just that for me!

Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I had my daughters Jeep tricked out …. Added nerd boards and led lighting inside under dash . Wow ! could not believe the professionalism of the install ! If you need any upgrades to your vehicles radio , led lights , and much more call these guys , they ROCK !

Some reviews say that the prices are high. I’d rather word it to say that these folks run a high quality shop and it’s worth the coins. Bought $2000 of equipment and spent $1300 on installation. Left there and realized none of the speakers other than dash and front doors working. And had to drive an hour back to Raleigh for them to fix . Even now system sounds not very good at all. I expected a lot more from a company that primarily does audio . I would strongly recommend going elsewhere . I also tried to attach a picture of where the OEM switch for a light bar belongs versus the spot where their technician put it. It definitely doesn’t go down near the hood latch where they put it. If you look at the dash there are 4 switches in a row 2 occupied and 2 empty that’s where it belongs. Even if it wasn’t obvious enough to who ever did it there is a thing called Google and the second you Google it there it shows plain as day . Obviously they must not realize most people that add switches are going to want them to be along side the other existing switches. I brought my 50k 4Runner to this place because I assumed a sound installation place attached to 4Wheel Parts was going to be good at 4 Wheel upgrades as well as sound system upgrades. I already have over 10k in first class high end upgrades to my 4RUNNER and I was expecting the same when adding a light bar switch and a complete sound system upgrade . I could not have been more wrong about deciding to bring my vehicle to Sound Station.

Have helpful, but pricey!

By far the worst service I have ever received. I don’t say that lightly, but I feel this is needed to notify potential customers. As was understood, I wasn’t able to be given same day service which is normally a good sign of a good business. So I made an appointment. I arrived on time and they had me in the system for the appointment but no other information. He spoke with his boss and said they would still be able to do everything according to plan. I was told it would take two hours. As I thought I was going to receive top tier service, I drove 40 minutes to get their so I dropped my car off and grabbed lunch. I returned 3 hours later only to find my Jeep where I left it. They never started. I didn’t get an apology, an offer to discount, or any attempt to remedy the situation. I strongly recommend going literally anywhere else to have work done. It would have been a little frustrating but if when my appointment came and they became busy, I would have gladly left it overnight and picked it up the next day as I understand things coming up. However they let me leave my car their and waste most of my only day off hanging around there. All Best Buy stores offer same service with warranty at a cheaper costs, local vehicle shops, and some local electricians. I’m sorry for the long review but I felt it messed art to take the tome to warm people of their terrible service and quality of customer care. Not a way to run a business.

Dropped my car off at 11:30 Am for my appointment wasnt given an ETA or price quote on the scheduled work until I asked in person 2 hours after waiting there. Was told it would be done by end of business that day 7 pm. Left to do other errands came back at 7 to find they were just starting on it. Was told at most an hour and to wait for a call. Waited an hour no call, all doors locked and lights off I had no way to contact anyone who had my car, very unprofessional, had to walk around back of building to knock on service door. Was told work was almost done, waited another hour and a half. Considering that they charge 3 times what best buy would have for the same work you would think it would be done in less than 10 hours. Install was done well everything working so far, great place to go if you dont value your time or your money.

This is the most knowledgeable, honest, professional, and accommodating team I have ever brought my car too. They customized my Jeep (corrected a $2K failed installation by another installer and also designed and customized my catering van! They offered creative suggestions to my van wrap that I didnt even think of!I trust these guys so much, I even get my cars towed there when they blow (rare oversized) tires. I never write reviews but these guys deserve a lot of recognition for the passion and commitment they put into their work.

They hooked up a modern stereo with Android Auto/Apple Car Play into a 2001 Sedan. Was expensive since the car was so old but with the new hands free driving laws it makes me more comfortable knowing my kids wont be fiddling with their phones while driving.

ABOVE AND BEYOND! I was in the market to upgrade my wheels and sound system so I checked out countless stores in the RDU area. It wasn’t until I started working with Josh at sound station and realized I was with professionals. He spent most of his day finding the right tires and wheels (literally most of the day) to make sure the would fit right and look good. I had a ton of questions which most of us do and they were patient enough to answer and give advice on future upgrades as well. I went ahead and got a full detail from Lamar and let me tell you, AMAZING! Full interior exterior (stage 1) and my car looks like I just drove it off the lot. To put the icing on the cake their customer service is exceptional. Everyone is respectful and appreciates your business. They can be busy at times but I assure you, when you are working with someone you have their undivided attention AND they look out for your best interest and your budget. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else! If you like your car and need a little extra sound, detailing, or pretty much whatever else, go to sound station and security and they’ll take good care of you.

Wish I could give NEGATIVE STARS. Took my kids car here to get her audio system checked because her touch screen went black. The car ran well, no other issues...just the audio. They kept the car for 3 hours to tell her what “might” be wrong and charged her $140+. When I asked the owner Wiley why it was so much & took so long to not even get a definitive answer on what was wrong, he explained how they had to take everything apart. Well she got home and went back out to the car about an hour later and the car was completely dead. Her key fob wouldn’t even unlock it & she didn’t have the shank inside the fob. We called AAA & he came & unlocked it. We told him what happened and where we took the car. He immediately said OH NO! They are known to mess cars up. I’ve heard this a lot about them. This is a stranger who works for AAA telling us this. When he unlocked the car it went into theft mode. She ordered a new shank to insert into the car & take it off theft mode. That came in a few days later and still the car was dead. We had to jump it. Leave it off for a little while it would go completely dead again. The battery is 5 months old, alternator was replaced last year. Yet her battery is being drained rapidly by something and it wasn’t doing any of that before we took it to sound and stupid. Called a mechanic to let them know what happened and once again another person said I know exactly the place you’re taking about because I’ve heard this a few times before about that place. Take it back to them and tell them to fix whatever they messed up. I called early but they were not there (manager or owner) so I left a detailed message with another employee & he said they’d call me. I ended up calling back. I spoke to Josh & he said he heard what happened...he’s the manager. He then told me that he checked with the people who worked on her car and all they did was take the radio out. A different story than what Wiley the owner said so I reminded him of that and we agreed that they would look at it to figure out what was causing the drain. I could tell they had already made up their mind to not take responsibility for it. I had also read the reviews on google by then and saw how the owner Wiley talked wreckless in his replies to unsatisfied customers never taking responsibility for any damages or horrible service. After dropping the car off with them and leaving it for 5.5 hours they ignored my calls trying to get an update. We went back up there around 5:30 and I asked if the phone worked...it did but they had caller ID so they purposely ignored my calls because they had done absolutely nothing to the car all that time. Wiley then tried to fast talk me after making me wait & pretending not to see me, saying the battery is completely dead. Duhhhh...that’s why it’s here. He said he think it’s the battery but they’re going to test it. I said all this time and you haven’t done that yet? That’s why we bought it back. I said my issue is it been here 5.5 hours & her car worked fine before you all messing with the radio. Wiley got loud and said “OK I DID IT...It’s my fault”. It was downhill from there. I demanded to be taken to the car and warned everyone to read his reviews before letting them touch their car. Wiley clearly wanted to argue with 2 women & apparently thought he could play with me but I’m not a kid & I don’t scare easily. He continued to argue and told us that it’s customers like us that their cars messed up. Idk if he meant black women or people who don’t let him get away with damaging their vehicles in general. We got her car fixed somewhere else as well as a detailed report on what they messed up & we will not be paying the repair bill alone for something they messed up. They are terrible. Stay tuned for big bad Wileys unprofessional response.*Update- Just as I anticipated from looking at the many BAD reviews the owner has replied in true narcissistic fashion. Not taking any responsibility & lying. He got loud & I match energy. Him asking me to leave is just as untrue as him only having 2 complaints. Look for yourself.

Foreign car? No instructions? No help from Dealer? No Problem!!!!Joel did a PHENOMINAL job installing LED surround lights to my Mercedes Benz SUV.The module came with just a bunch of lights and wires, no instructions, and the dealership that I ordered the lights from was no help at all.They went above and beyond to get the job done right, and at a fraction of the price the dealer would have charged.Even when the job took longer than they quoted, they held to the price they quoted me.Now Adays you just dont find service and dedication like this.I will DEFINITELY recommend these guys!Looking forward to the next project.

Two years ago my speakers started making a horrible noise. These guess said new speakers would fix the problem. Noise is back and the staff was so kindly trying to help me identify the issue. Owner got involved, said it was the amplifier, rushed me out promising to research parts and call me that following Monday..... Its been three weeks and I never heard anything. My question now is if it was always the amplifier why did I need to buy new speakers the first time

I will not take my vehicles to any other shop!! I have driven from Maryland to Raleigh before just to take my truck here. I once had a Tahoe delivered here from Florida - just because I know that I am going to get amazing customer service. I really wish I could give them ZERO STARS ! But google won’t allow it, where do I start for one just my speakers are out And I went in to get a quote last week and they had the mechanic up front giving quotes like he knew what he was talking about and gave me a quote for my car (a reasonable price) that made you want to set the appointment up and when I came in for my appointment the owner was in there saying that the mechanic wasn’t suppose to give quotes he was helping Out and proceeded to tell me the price that he wanted me to pay and adding things I didn’t want added, it seemed as if he was trying to get more money out of me ! And quadrupled the price that was given to me originally..it was a $1,000 added to the total I was originally given..he also switched the speakers that his mechanic had recommended to me which double the price of the speakers making the total $2,000 at the end ! JUST TO SWITCH OUT SOME SPEAKERS! To make my car speakers sound stock! I wouldn’t recommend doing any business here unless you want to be broke and lied too! The business needs to have more organization when it comes to given quotes out, owner seems money hungry !

I needed a flip down DVD player installed in my car and they did it the same day I called, it looks and works terrific, my kids love it, I love it, the price for everything was very reasonable, they showed me how to use it before I left, and were just overall so nice to deal with. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again.

Was promised it would be “high quality, perfect work” over and over, it was exact opposite. Sub was installed upside down and was not secured to keep it from moving around, as promised. Going to Best Buy to get it done properly.

These guys are great. I have had work done on a few of my cars and they have always exceeded my expectations. Recently, the installer made the entire sales staff stay late so that he could ensure that the height of my bass knob looked factory correct. And it did! I love that kind of attention to detail. In addition to the highly skilled installation staff, the sales guys are cool and know what they are talking about. They try to find what will work for you and dont up-sell or pressure you about your purchase. Prices are totally reasonable. Plus, they have everything you need and can handle an install in a day. Very impressive. I have never seen a more efficient stereo shop. I HIGHLY recommend Sound Station and Security.

I shopped around and talked with several different shops about how to add car play to my older Cadillac. I knew after talking with Josh, that these guys knew what they were talking about. The whole experience was excellent. Great equipment, price was fair with NO surprises, and the work was impeccable. There was a minor issue that I discovered about 2 weeks later. I stopped by one afternoon and they just took care of it. I highly recommend these guys for a stereo upgrade, a full blown over haul, or tricked out lights and cameras. One of the best experiences I’ve had on any car I’ve owned. Unbelievable equipment available too. I’m already dreaming about the next project for them to do.

We just had a complicated full install done with these guys on an older Mercedes and couldnt be happier with it. From the time we went into the store, we got the red carpet treatment. Tyler is extremely knowledgeable about sound systems and I felt very confident leaving the shop that the job would be done right. Not only was it done right, it was done same day. The owner actually even stayed after closing to personally make sure everything was perfect. On top of that, there were some unanticipated changes that had to be made mid install (read: more expensive equipment was required) and we were given the upgrades at no additional cost. As you can probably see from previous reviews, these guys arent the cheapest in town. You can probably find a shop up the road who will do whatever youre looking for a little cheaper. However, as I always say in life, you get what you pay for. These guys stand behind their work, guarantee a lifetime warranty on their installs, and offer a quality of workmanship and service that seems to be getting harder and harder to find these days. Highly recommended.

They put the lights in my truck bed and did a great job. They have a theater room you can sit in and watch movies while you are waiting for your car. the sales guys are great. they are very busy and move quickly but it was really a good experience.

Wow! Affordable price and a fantastic staff! Josh and Taylor were the two that helped me replace my subwoofer for my 4Runner. They were so personable, knowledgeable, and patient. Took the time to explain my options in depth (taking the time to go into technical details) and being honest about whether it was worth it with the stereo that I already had in place. Afterwards they even helped me adjust everything else to make it sound exactly how I had hoped it would! It should also be noted that they were able to schedule this appointment with me calling just the day before! Highly recommend!

I went to this store twice. First time around was very quick in and out. I was given a speaker mount/adapter that didnt exactly fit and so I went back the next day. Even though the store policy is not to give refunds, they were able to exchange the product without question.My second visit was very helpful. A store representative worked with me at the car for quite a while and made sure the speaker would fit in my car door panel.I wen back home and was able to mount that speaker without issue.This place gets my seal of approval. I even got a call from the owner! :)

I had a complete stereo install done at Sound Station including door speakers, subs, head unit, amps, and tweeters in my 2010 Chevy Silverado. The install was clean and sounded great. I was happy with the service and knowledge of the staff. I did encounter issues with the tweeters that were installed however. They blew within a few days of the install. I took the truck back to Sound Station and they were quick to replace them free of charge. Unfortunately, this happened three times within a few weeks. After blowing through three sets of tweeters, the staff suggested that I should upgrade my tweeters and just pay the difference in price. I didnt run in to any issues after that. I wasnt completely satisfied with the constant removal and replacement of the column cover which held the tweeters in place because the staff had left dirty fingerprints on my headliner and column cover which I chose to remove myself vice notifying the staff. Im sure that they would have cleaned it if I had asked though. Seemed like a small oversight on their part.Overall I was happy with my experience at Sound Station and Security. Although their prices are a little higher than other shops in the area, I think it was well worth the value.

Had strobe lights placed in a vehicle for commercial use. Nothing but problems. Some lights do not work. Some fell off the inside of the light housing. Brought back twice after installing. Top it off that these LEDs strobes are not bright enough to see properly on a sunny day. Highly disappointed.

Great people and great service. They installed my dashcam in about an hour having had no appoinment. Other places I called had a three week wait. Once installed Josh went above and beyond setting up my camera and explaining the operation. Very nice waiting area and the restrooms surprisingly clean for shop type business. Would highly recommend them.

Recently had new audio components installed in an old Jeep Wrangler. The personnel did a great job with installing the receiver and speakers. The customer service was very knowledgeable and professional and the process was easy and timely.

I had a difficult request, and this was the only company I could find locally that was willing to try and help me. I had a 2006 dodge charger and wanted an aftermarket proximity key and push-start system installed. This is complicated because it involves electrical bypasses, and anything involving the ignition wiring in a modern car can get difficult in a hurry.I worked with Josh Campos, who assured me that they had installed this system before on other vehicles and have had success. My install was more difficult than they anticipated, and we ran into problems with parasitic drain on the battery. Josh continued to work through the problem though, and had to get in touch with the technicians at the aftermarket device company as well as taking my vehicle over to the dealership and speaking with their technicians. I am positive that this install was much more difficult and time-consuming than Josh and his team were anticipating.I think most other companies would have given up on the project at some point and said that it couldnt be done, rather than spend the amount of time it would take to get the install right. To their credit, Sound Station and security continued working on things, never asked me for more money than they said it would cost, and in the end, the system works perfectly now! I couldnt be happier with them. This is clearly a company that cares about their reputation, and wants the customer to get a great install and product. Josh even called me a week later to follow up and make sure that the battery issues were solved.I will absolutely use them again for any further auto-electrical jobs, and would wholeheartedly recommend them to my friends.

Do not go to this place! I got a remote start put into my car and they did it wrong. They couldnt fix the problem they created. I tried to get my money back, even told them to take out the system, but they told me they would not fix the problem they created without charging me more money. These people are thieves.

Needed a head unit, door speakers replaced and also wanted a sub installed. I walked in the store and the associate left me to walk around and see their products, which I prefer when shopping. Shortly after that Tyler (associate) greeted me and asked if I needed some help. He listened to me attentively and slowly walked me through various products for each piece I was looking for, gave me all the pros and cons of each, then sat me down to do some pricing. I felt the pricing was fair and equitable for my budget, and he also gave me discounts where possible. After the installation he walked through using the audio equipment, and while conducting the orientation we both noticed an issue too which he promptly had corrected by the technicians. I felt like my overall experience was wonderful in conducting business with them, and the staff (Tyler as well as Josh) and the owner were more than happy to help me accomplish what I had mind. Ive been installing my own car systems since the early 90s and have dealt with various car audio businesses and would rate them amongst the best. I got what I paid for and feel as though they would stand behind their work and equipment if anything were to go wrong post installation. I highly recommend the uninitiated as well as pros give them a try.

Ive brought multiple vehicles here for installs. They are great to work with and very knowledgeable. The install team does great work. The showroom has a lot of products to look at. Personally I wouldnt go anywhere else.

These guys ROCK! The most customer service friendly place I have ever been. I brought in my 2011 Jeep with a stock radio. After shopping around Best Buy and other leading stores for a rear camera and stereo setup. I was given a very competitive price while getting customized box subwoofers and a higher quality tuner than I thought was within my budget. To me what stands out about a company is how they treat you after the sale. To say the least that is why I am giving 5 stars. Never been questioned and have always been accommodated for a quick tweak or fine tune. Outstanding company!

Fantastic. When the radio display screen went out in my Ford Focus, the dealer wanted $942 to fix it, which is roughly 10 percent of what I paid for the entire car. Absurd.After buying the part from a supplier for $45 (including $9 shipping), Sound Station and Security installed it for just $112. More than that, I didnt even have an appointment. I walked in randomly and they squeezed me in when another customer didnt show.The whole installation took about an hour, and I killed that time watching football in their cushy waiting room.Thanks, guys!

Josh helped me out with selecting the right system based on my needs - very professional and efficient, really great guy! They installed the system in a couple of hours and I think thats the first time Ive ever paid less than the quoted price for getting anything installed. Cannot recommend this place enough, they really are great!The new review:I had to take my car back there to have the system installed a second time, as I had replaced the old wiring harness and wanted to make sure that the system got put in right. Well, the second time they did a TERRIBLE job of installing it. Literally just skinned some of my (brand new) wires, wrapped the Viper wires around the skinned wires, and taped over it. Had a horrible shorting problem where some of the exposed wiring caused the fuel pump to short out. Now the siren goes off randomly. The tape is coming apart and more wires are going to be exposed.The new-new review:SS&S worked with me to refund me the full cost of installation of the alarm system that had been installed so poorly. They were very good about this, so I have increased my rating because their customer service was excellent. However, this should not have happened in the first place. I had the alarm system reinstalled at a different dealer because I now live in a different state; however, if I still lived in NC I know that they would have repaired the system and made it all right for free. Good customer service to make up for the terrible install job.

Outstanding Par Excellence!!! Had a big issue that came up in our upfitted Sprinter....called yesterday and got it taken cared off today. Josh..super nice guy and professional. Joel..the technician was also super nice, and knowledgeable. Josh took us back to the work area and Joel took the time to explain and show my wife and I what was wrong which re assured us. We are now back home with our fully working Sprinter Van entertainment systems. So happy I came here. Much relieved and with much gratitude to Josh, Joel and Sound Station & Security.!!!

Were I to add to the abundance of books on Customer Service Id offer Tyler Tyndall as one of the best examples of what quality CS should look like. A friend recommended the Sound Station & Security store on the recommendation of a friend who only knew of them from another friend; in other words I knew as much about the company had I merely used Google. Nevertheless, I called, Tyler Tyndall answered and in a few brief but pleasant moments gave me what I expected, We can definitely do your 1979 MGB. Bring it in so we can look it over. And so I did.That afternoon I drove to Sound Stations Raleigh location. After a few rather confusing moments with a trainee, Tyler appeared and gave me what felt like red-carpet treatment. He asked about my needs and wants, looked over the situation in my B and talked about installation alternatives. When he began showing me specific choices, I reiterated a specific want and was shocked when Tyler gently pointed out that while he could easily make it happen it perhaps wasnt a good long-term choice for my particular car. The surprising part of this is the choice he recommended was far less costly.On installation day, Tyler met me, confirmed that his written estimate was still what I wanted, and within minutes had my B in the shop. During the course of the installation Tyler came to me recommending a different set of speakers due to a size issue with my door panels; no muss no fuss. Straight-up, lets go.The installation was completed in about two-thirds of the time estimate and when I mentioned this at the register, Tyler had already taken off the time and lowered the entire cost. Then it was off to a few moments of familiarization where Tyler set-up the system for me and helped me understand a bit of its overall operation.In all, this was as positive an experience as Ive ever had in a retail environment. Im confident all the techs and associates at Sound Station are more than competent and highly qualified. That said, I simply cannot imagine any of them being more customer oriented than Tyler Tyndall and it is because of his service I cannot recommend Sound Station more highly.

Great group of folks, they did the work as requested, and at over 1k in cost it performed well and the installation was top notch quality. I had a problem with the unit about a week later, stopped by they swapped the unit out and handled the problem quickly, kindly, and with awesome customer service/care. I will be using them again, and suggest you give them a try if you want your work done to the highest level of professional quality.

Josh helped me pick out exactly what I wanted for the price range I could afford. Very informative and within a few hours of purchase it was installed perfectly in my car. Great service, definitely recommend it.

Needed to get a new radio installed after some low-life broke into my car and stole the one I had. I stopped here because they are located right next to the gym I go to. I gotta say, the salesman sucked me in. I usually compare prices with amazon or some other sites to see that I am not being overcharged. For some reason this step never popped in my head. And as it turns out, every item they sold me was marked up by about 50% of what I found online. So after they negotiate a deal I cant refuse, they go to work on my car. An hour into the installation, all of a sudden I need another special wiring harness. I should have called it off there. But I allow them to proceed after they cut me another deal on the harness. My advice... check prices on the items they are trying to sell you. At least you will know just how much of a deal you are getting.

I’m so glad I finally got my music fixed in my car. My brother had music installed there many years ago, when the car was his. I came back into sound station thinking I needed a new radio. A guy named Josh told me the radio was fine. It turns out I a speaker was blown out. He even took time to show me little tricks on blasting my music without blowing out my speakers. I wish I would have brought it in sooner. I will be back to update my radio when I get the chance.

They explained the install of my sons LED under car lighting and in the car lighting and went to work. We LOVE the way they look!! It only took them about 4 hours. I just wish i let them install the Pioneer Iphone stereo in my Mercedes instead of Best Buy. I will never allow Best Buy to install anything else EVER. I will be going to Sound Station and Security from now on.

Terrible, waiting for a 1 p.m. appointment and they did not start working on my car until 1:45...it was just a headlight replacement. Advised guy over the phone when making the appointment that I did not want the bumper taken off, and they took it off anyway. I am aware that the headlight can be replaced through the fender, because I had it done before, however the employee told me that there was no way to do it. The employee had a slight attitude when I confronted him about it. Just a complete waste of time!! Thats what happens when you go to someone different.

I was in town for the weekend for a friend’s wedding. My radio in my car stopped working so I used google to find a location to help with my radio and Sound Station and Security popped up. OMG I’m so glad I stopped by. One of the employees located the problem and fixed a wire that went bad AND didn’t even charge me. I was blown away by the generosity of the employee as well as the owners. Thank you for taking care of me. Now I understand why you’re number 1 on Google Search.

Mike and I were very satisfied with the attention we received when we purchased a sound system for our home. Jonathan was extremely knowledgable about the product and assisted us in designing a system to meet our needs. He installed the system, which we have enjoyed immensely.

Installed home theater in basement did great job and the price was great too. Quality was top notch, wife and I love watching movies at home now.
