They have great coffee! Lg. $1.61with tax. It makes one cup at a time. Always fresh. Nice outgoing workers. Lots of food & miscellaneous items.

As per Raleigh’s and Wake County”s mask mandate, signage says customers must wear masks yet rarely is an employee wearing a mask (who are required to).

You can’t beat the prices for even name-brand products. And the produce is usually very nice. Very convenient for all of us who live downtown — like a little neighborhood grocery. Very clean and tidy. Staff members are *usually* quite friendly. (Sometimes not so much.) But we’re so grateful that they go to work everyday!

It was pretty busy with only self check out and stocking, but everyone was so nice and helpful.

THE STORE IS GREAT. EVERYTHING PRICES IN THE STORE IS GREAT. JUST CANNOT STAND OF FEW STAFFS THAT WANT TO “talk talk” while they have customers that wait in long line especially for deaf people, IM so IMPATIENT if the worker want to talk or make a laugh w their staffs while Im in hurry.

Great addition to downtown, you dont realize how much you need a store like this downtown until you dont have it. They carry all the essential items from food, to cleaning products, stationary supplies, baby items, and hygein products. I really miss having this store downtown and cant wait till it comes back.

Never have I ever seen a DGX. This store is right on the corner of a busy street, not ideal for parking but perfect if you live, work or play downtown. Staff is quick. Location is very well lit, I felt safe

Good place to grab the essentials. You wont find tons here but youll find what you need. They even have some grab and go items, semi-fresh sandwiches and such. All kinds of snacks, cleaning supplies, cold medicines, just pretty much most things you could need whether if living Downtown or in town for a conference or meeting.

Its not your usual Dollar General Store and while it doesnt sell everything it sells more than youd expect. Paired with its prices, it was a welcome addition to downtown for those that work and or live within walking distance because parking in downtown Raleigh is the equivalent to being struck by lightning as in it rarely happens and is shocking and blows your mind when it does. Well played DGX...well played.

This is a good store. It is downtown and yet has adequate supply and prices !!! No fresh meat ( only hotdogs , sausages and frozen meals) and, off course, no spirits!!! Considering everything, if they should expand their offer by these products this would be one helluva store!( not so far away as it is) Staff is friendly, store looks clean. Totally recommending !

Customer service is horrible you have to greet the cashier instead of her greeting you not to mention mumbling under her breathe. The location of the store is perfect but its obvious the workers (even assistant manager) attitudes should be adjusted before going to work!!

This is Dollar General Expresss, while there are many things for $1, everything is not a dollar. They have things you wont find in regular Dollar Stores such as hot coffee, fresh donuts, cooked hot dogs, icees, and other quick food. I like this place because its downtown and if you work or live downtown its a great place to walk to and quickly grab some essentials.

Close to Raleighs Transit Station. Prices affordable. Only thing is that the Homeless Population stand outside entrance begging for money. Otherwise, I would have given 5 Stars.

Weve been very happy with the selection. They dont have a ton of brands of each item, but for the location and size, have a nice variety of items (toiletry, dairy, beer, etc.). Its been great. For example, we wanted sour cream with dinner and were out the other night. They had one brand in stock. While we couldnt choose from a half dozen brands like at Harris teeter, we didnt care, because we just wanted a reasonably priced alternative to going to the grocery store. Its not going to replace a grocery store, but they will have a good variety of basic needs and arent price gouging.

This is an excellent quick stop location. Due to its downtown location prices are higher than average and they dont carry everything but its a nice store if you need to grab some snacks or a phone charger or something on the run.

Love the low prices, but the edibles are almost entirely typical American food-desert fare, very highly processed for maximum affordability, NOT for health. The non-consumables are plentiful and in passable variety, but definitely Wal-Mart-level quality. Go here often if obesity at minimum cost is a reasonable outcome for you, unless the fresh salad/picnic lunchbox choices are what youre after. Those are good (and of course, low-priced).

They are always stocked and have the best hours. Thank for being open when most are closed

Never been in a DGX before. I had no idea it was a Dollar General until I overheard someone on their phone telling the person on the other end that they were at Dollar General. It is kind of set up like a mini-mart. You can find just about anything you want there and (obviously) its at a great price!

This convenience store is one of my favorites in the city. It’s always clean, organized, well-stocked, and conveniently located. The only reason I rated it with 3 stars is due to the fact that the lady that works there (worked tonight 03/03/18 around 8:30pm) is always completely rude, and unprofessional. No matter how nice you are to her, she makes it known that she doesn’t like her job, doesn’t want to be there, and doesn’t care about the customer. It’s a shame because this place deserves better representatives than her.

Grocery type store, its a good addition to the downtown area. The product selection is not the best, but considering that this is a small store and that there arent any other similar stores in the area I can say this store is good. Shelves are neat and stocked, staff is ok - a little more speed would be good.

DGX is killing it downtown. Great prices,good selection and the cashiers are very prompt.

Way cheaper than CVS or Raleigh Provisions or the little market shop around the corner. Has pretty much anything you could possibly need or want. Only downfall is that at certain times of the week (read: Saturday and Sunday), they begin to run out of stock of some items.

Ugh... too much bs to even bother going here again.Strictly went there for convenience. What a joke the homeless drunk they allow to loiter at this location followed me and my friends through the store begging for beer. The store was filthy and the staff was rude. The only cashier on duty was talking on their phone the whole time.

I went here for the first time today just to pick up a toiletry. There was nobody at the counter. Another customer walked into the back room to get someone after a few minutes of waiting. When they guy came out, he was high and couldnt give back change and had to get another person to come out from the backroom to check out the rest of the customers because he had locked the cash register. This concept is great, but the staff is awful!

I have had managers deny, in no uncertain terms, that this store is in any way linked to Dollar General. This is usually in response to why the store chooses not to honor certain Dollar General sales and policies. They have claimed that DGX does not, in fact, stand for Dollar General eXpress, and is just a random grouping of letters. This is in spite of the fact that certain products on the shelves actually bear the name Dollar General, including a 4 pack of Bic lighters that has a big yellow sticker saying For sale at Dollar General stores only.The stores location and stock are very convenient. But I have worked in retail long enough to know you NEVER tell a customer that you are not tied to your parent company. You only do that if you want to prevent negative calls to the corporate offices.Stock and location are great. Honesty from management, not so much.

The gift cards are all outdated, explanations bought a gift card went to use it and it was denied, took it back to the store and said there nothing that could be done with it..I bought another at the same time and it was literally out dated, went back to them same thing, nothing they could do, so went and opened case against them and will go out of my way to share this with all my peeps on all social media as I have over 3000 people in downtown Raleigh, bye DGx! I absolutely love this store. Dollar generals effort to rebrand themselves in a metropolitan area was brilliant. Always clean friendly and fast customer service. Its like a cleaner nicer mini Walmart were you can qctually get help if need be. Chances hmare they will always have what you need since inventory is always well stocked.
