I just moved to town and my car went haywire. Rodney took exceptional care of me and my vehicle. After taking my Jeep to the dealer and getting a quote that I wasnt prepared for, I called A&J based on the positive Google reviews. Rodney talked me down off a ledge, took time to listen & give advice, and made arrangements to give me a second opinion the next day. A&J fixed a significant electrical issue in a fraction of the time that it was going to take the dealer and for less $$$$. I cant say enough about the friendly service. I got lucky and found a great mechanic on my first try!

While traveling from Boston to Florida I made a stop in Raleigh North Carolina to visit with my daughter. I had some air conditioning overheating issues with my 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. After bringing my truck to the AAA service center they determined that the problem was too difficult for them to figure out. I found a and J automotive on a Google search with fantastic reviews. I brought my truck to them they were very busy told me it would take five days for them to look at it. I had to leave it there in Raleigh and continue my trip to Florida. They checked it out on Friday as opposed to Tuesday I have a holiday weekend diagnose the problem and have it ready for me the following Tuesday morning as opposed to the following Friday. Fantastic work

We love A&J auto they are a great place to take your vehicles, they send you text updates while they work on your car and even send you pictures of what is wrong, they also email you the work they will be doing so you can see your total amount. They recently did work on my wifes car and they were unable to get calipers in time so they took them apart and removed all the rust instead of making us wait a week to have new parts delivered! That was something that was so small but so amazing for them to do!

Needed major engine repair. Repairs were done timely and as quoted. Back on road and running great. Nice warranty on service provided.

Ive used A&J in Raleigh for several of my cars and have always had professional service. The work performed was of high quality and Ive never had to return because the repair was not done right the first time. Like all other repair shops, they will point out other issues and give you an estimate for the total repair; but they dont try and pressure you into the extra services. All and all I would recommend them without reservation.

We’d purchased a used car a month ago and were having issues so we brought to A&J Auto for the immediate repair, but also a once over for future wear and tear items. Rodney was great dumbing down the mechanic speak into terms we understood as I’m not at all a car person! I will never forget my experience at A&J Automotive, it was AMAZING! I was traveling to Raleigh, NC when my car began to smoke and I was having some trouble driving. I called A&J Automotive and explained my trouble and how urgent I needed to get my car fixed because I was only in NC for 4 days and had to return to VA for work. They took me right in, fixed my car in less than 24 hours and it drives perfectly now! I know nothing about cars, so I really appreciated how they explained every single detail to me and called me with price estimates before even beginning the work on my vehicle (I have had car shops just begin working on my car, and then slap with me an unexpected total). The customer service here goes above and beyond and I will always be thankful for their help. They are very kind, honest, and their hard-work is unmatched. I highly reccommend!

This outfit is very knowledgeable and really great at personal service. I took my Toyota in three times to other mechanics for a squealing belt and I was told that they could not find anything since they could not repeat the issue. A & J found the issue and came up with a cost effective solution. They even fixed an issue with my tires that was making my car ride badly.

I went for a pre-purchase inspection for a used car, and I am so glad that I did! Their thoroughness with the car put me at great ease in making such an important, large purchase. I ended up buying the car thanks to them not having found anything, except for minor things (new windshield wipers and an oil change). Without me asking a loaner was offered for the time I had to wait. I have never been to a better mechanic than A&J Automotive. They are extremely knowledgable and their service is top quality. And they are honest. They will give you a heads up about a repair that might be upcoming in the future so you can keep an eye on it/budget for it, when other mechanics might suggest it being done right away. Most importantly for me, A&J takes excellent care of my three teenage drivers. They are always available immediately at A&J if a service light comes on, and they make sure their cars are running reliably. You will not regret a trip to A&J!

Brought my truck in to have a new smart junction box put in, the dealership quoted me way too much money that I did not want to spend. A and J Automotive was extremely friendly and helped me out greatly. They were able to replace the box and re-program it and everything is back to normal. They were very quick and communication was excellent: I will definitely be coming back for all my work that needs to be done in the future. Highly recommend!

Also, the staff makes every effort to accommodate my particular circumstances and scheduling requirements. This group is amazing! They really know their stuff and are very competitively priced! They checked out my SUV and let me know very quickly what the repairs would cost. When that cost exceeded the value of the vehicle, they stored the vehicle until I could make it to Raleigh from New Bern. They even called a few times to see if an alternative routeS of repair (that were less expensive and thus possible) worked for me. They definitely went above and beyond to help!

I started taking my car here several years ago. I was and have been very impressed at the service they give. Me being a single woman I was kind of skeptical at first because I didnt want to be taken advantage of ... but A&J Automotive is an amazing place. The staff is very kind, the sitting area is kept clean, the restrooms are also very clean. When I go I usually take my laptop so I can work while they service my car. They have a conference room where you can go and work while you wait. I have actually taken my car for service and they told me nothing needed to be done. I like them because they are not the type of place that just do things to your car to get your money. They are very honest and so far I am so very glad I found A & J Automotive to service my car. Also, if they need to keep your car longer than expected they will also give you a loaner while they are servicing your vehicle. The team at A&J quickly diagnosed the issue and had it fixed the same day. Repairs came with a 3 month warranty which is nice. They are very professional and explained the situation well. The only negative I can say is they are expensive. The $106 diagnose charge is added on to the cost of the repair. They are comparable with prices at a dealership but always remember you get what you pay for.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE. I was referred to A & J by someone I know, because their prices were supposed to be reasonable. Big mistake, I took a BMW to get the front breaks replaced, thinking that it was going to be cheaper than the dealership, Let me just tell you, they charged me $905 (just the parts) for the pads, rotors and brake pad sensor, after sitting on it for a few days, I was curious to see how they will compare to the dealer, I called the BMW dealer, and they priced the exact same parts for $540, that is $365 cheaper than what A & J charged me. They end up doing the front brakes, replaced the serpentine belt and replace a nut on the exhaust, for a total of $1600. A After I did some research, all labor and parts where all overpriced, I knew mechanics are not the most honest people, but wow, they took it to another whole different level. I feel robbed.

We took our vehicle in because we thought the internal water pump was leaking. After speaking with Rodney he said they would check it out and get back to us. He called back and confirmed the problem with the water pump and we asked him to give us a quote to replace the water pump and a complete timing job since the timing chain runs the water pump. He sent us a quote and said he could have it ready in two days. Unfortunately, there was a delay on a part so he offered us a loaner car so we wouldnt be inconvenienced . With their 3 yrs 36, 000 mile nationwide warranty on their parts and service. Great customer service from Rodney and Ray and overall great experience we highly recommend.

They recently added remote paying for contactless drop off and pick up. Went here to get my ac recharged. The staff here is extremely friendly and efficient! We were there for at most 20 minutes and within that time they asked if we wanted any refreshments. The waiting area is very clean with a flat screen TV. This place is so customer focused that they even gave us a welcome bag as a thank you! I would highly recommend this place! I know I plan on using them for my car needs.

I came in the other day to get my broken car side door handle fixed and they were able to fix it pretty fast and at a reasonable price as well. Very fair and reasonable prices. Most other car auto repair places Ive been to often overcharge, however this place is fair and does a solid job at repairing your vehicle. I also like that they do not push anything extra for you to purchases that you dont need. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to fix their car.

These guys pickpocketed me while they had my car in their garage for an NC Vehicle inspection. They were not fair and lied about NC inspection policies. I told my coworkers about the incident and they laughed me out of the office for going here and getting duped into swiping for the charges they imposed on me. Humiliating experience.

They fixed an engine rattle that had been a problem for 3+ years at ignition. Feels weird not having people stare at the obnoxious noise/rattle when I started my car cold. Thanks for everything!

It’s all about the money and we will not be back. My wife and I have been loyal customers to Ray for over 10 years. We felt the price was fair and good work was done. That is not the case anymore! Over the last few month, we brought in two of our cars for service and got a long sales pitch from the new guy Rodney each time, after we had to keep calling in to check on the status. When we questioned or said no to something, his tone changed. He sounds nice, but it’s clearly all about the sale. And the last time we came in to pick up, I stood at the counter while he kept typing and took two calls, without addressing me in any way. This was disappointing. We will be looking for a new place after all these years.
