Jeff did a great job recently fixing the finish on a chair for me. It looks as good as new! He was very responsive, the price was reasonable, and the turn-around time was very quick.

We had a teak dining room chair that was severely damaged during a move--broken into many pieces. We brought the chair to Jeff and he restored it perfectly. We cant tell the difference between the chair he restored and the other five. Its that good. See the before and after photos. I honestly didnt believe that it could be done that well by anyone but Jeff made it beautiful again for life. I would recommend him to anyone needing furniture repair.

I went to this restoration company to get a vase restored. Unfortunately, the restoration cost would have exceeded the value of the vase. The owner commented that I did a pretty good job with the partial repairs that I had done thus far. We discussed other potential projects that I had that would be worth while. Even though I didnt get the vase repaired there, the owner spent a great deal of time discussing options with me. I had other items that I would like him to repair.

Jeff recently did a wood table broken leg repair for me. The sixty year old antique table had a “s” shaped leg that required a new wood attachment. Jeff did a fantastic job shaping the wood repair matching the leg’s details. He matched the original dark wood color perfectly and the attachment joint is invisible.I can’t say enough to recommend Jeff for his high level of attention to detail in a prompt time frame at a very reasonable price.Thanks Jeff for extending the life of my family heirloom.

I am very happy with the work that was done repairing handmade mugs that I inherited. Several of them were broken in shipment. Mr. Johnson was clear as to what the restoration would cost, how long the restoration would take, and what the mugs should look like in the end before he started working on them so I knew what to expect. He repaired them to the original quality, and even completed the restoration early!

Highly recommend this company to do your china repair work. We drove 4 hours to have a reputable person repair our very large blue and white bowl. Jeff had to show us where the repair was made on the bowl.

Jeff did an amazing job on my antique Korean chest. It was very old and falling apart. He was able to piece it back together while maintaining its quality. The wood was dry and spotted with flecks of non-original paint. He was able to get the paint off, then oiled and waxed it. Im just delighted that this treasured family piece can now be gifted to my nephew for a wedding present!

My mother has an old dresser that had been in the family and been neglected. Trim was missing, it was dirty and beat up. Needless to say it was far away from tip-top condition. I have no idea how anyone is comfortable buying or working with this company since they absolutely refuse to answer their phones or return voice mail messages. I have been trying for days to talk with them about doing some work for me but they won’t call me back - must be nice to have so much work - got to wonder how long it will last.Update to my original post - after leaving this post I received an incredibly disrespectful phone call from Jeffs assistant. The assistant said that Jeff has closed my case after they read my review and wont be working with me. All I can say to that is WHO CARES, I wasnt planning on hiring them anyway. Its just amazing that they feel its appropriate to not answer their phones, not return voice mails and then get upset when someone calls them out on it.I was actually trying to give Jeff the benefit of the doubt by calling him as I was introduced to him by my moving company when they damaged some of my furniture. I was informed by my moving company that Jeff stated the damages were pre-existing which is completely untrue and despite Jeffs report the moving company paid out the full amount of my claim - I guess having pictures of the furniture undamaged before the move helped persuade them. I would highly recommend you not do business with Jeff clearly he has alot to learn.

Today we picked up our repaired formal dining room chair and Jeff not only fixed the broken arm, but worked on the entire chair so that it was much more sturdy. I sent pictures of the broken arm to several furniture restorers and he not only had the best price, but also great reviews. He did the work within a week. Very happy all the way around.

I highly recommend Jeff Johnson Restorations & Designs. I had a plaster hand print that my 22 year old daughter made for me for Mothers Day when she was in preschool. It broke, and i was devastated. Jeff understood the sentimental attachment that i felt for the hand print. He repaired it and made it look new again. Jeff refinished a table for me that had significant heat and water rings on it. The table was fixed beautifully and for less than he quoted. You dont have that happen often. Would definitely use him again.

Jeff is not only a highly skilled craftsman and artist, but also one of the best businessmen around. He gives as much attention to giving the best customer service as he does repairing priceless pieces to the finest detail.I took a customers marble statue to Jeff for a difficult repair. Head and appendages broken off and crumbling. After his repair I could not even tell where the piece had been damaged. He had to reconstruct delicate fingers, etc. He had to color match to the antique marble patina. It was done very well. I could also tell he had a great deal of respect for how important this statue was to its owner. He communicated clearly in his emails, and kept me updated on progress without me having to reach out to him first. He completed the repair much more quickly than I anticipated, and given the quality of his work I considered the cost to be reasonable. I dont think anyone else could have satisfied my customer as completely as he did.This was my first repair job for Jeff, and although I hope not to need this type of service very often, Jeff will always be the first person I call from now on.

We had a small English drop leaf table that was a family piece with very serious leg damage. It had been moved many times through the years and frankly we doubted the table could even be restored. I work for a residential cleaning service and a ceramic item belonging to a customer was dropped and broken into a few pieces. The item had been broken by the customer before, but was of significant sentimental value. It was a wedding gift many years ago and irreplaceable due to age and lack of identifying branding. It was a relatively clean break, but I simply could not get the pieces to fit back together. I contacted Jeff, and he was very quick to respond with various different repair options at different price points. I let him know our budget and set up a time to drop off the item that day. The repair was done with a quick turnaround and the results far exceeded our expectations! We recently moved to Raleigh from Palm Beach. Unfortunately, the movers damaged our custom made 5X5 coffee table. They also broke the door off of a very expensive exotic wood cabinet. The moving company recommended Jeff Johnson Restoration and Design. Lucky for us that Jeff was recommended. He came to our home accessed the damage submitted it promptly to the moving company. He had the damaged pieces pick up and repaired them like new. When I told him we expected company and I would love to have the pieces before they arrived he said he would do his best for an extra quick turnaround. True to his word. I had a large Chinese floor vase which had been in our family for four generations. It had suffered damage when another piece of furniture accidentally fell over on it. There were two long cracks that circled the vase and had displaced the porcelain. I spoke with Jeff and he advised me how to best handle moving the vase to his shop. He was very prompt in doing the repair and I am very happy with it. The surface is flat again and no one would know that it had been cracked. His prices are quite reasonable and he was very nice to deal with. I would definitely recommend him and would use him again.

Jeff Johnson came to the rescue when movers ruined an historic grandfather clock. Not only were the clock works ruined, but there was significant damage to the case. He had the clock picked up in Fayetteville and brought to his workshop in Raleigh. In a short period of time, the clock was back at home in better shape than it had been before the damage. He replaced the clock works with a new set from Austria (top of the line!) and did a fantastic job with the damaged gingerbread molding etc. Recommend him highly!!!
