Salt and straw!!! First of all I really like the name. We went there on a Sunday afternoon, & there was a long queue for getting the ice cream but is it worth it? Absolutely it is!!!The ice creams look good, and tastes awesome. They have a nice and simple menu. I got black tea chocolate which was wonderful. Recommended!!!!

Fun place to stop in to try some Salt and Straw ice cream inside the public market. My wife tried a couple of.the fruity flavors that were creamy and delicious. I had a coffe ice cream dipped in chocolate. It had great texture as well, but was a little too salty for my taste. It.tastes more salty than sweet.

Conveniently located in the popular and hip Pine Street Market, Whiz Bang Bar has great soft serve with unique flavors Salt & Straw is known for. The lines can get a little intimidating during peak hours, but no one seems disappointed when they get their soft serve! Its also hard to resist coming here for dessert when the aroma of waffle cone surrounds it.Pictured is the honey lavender soft serve.

Stopped by Wiz Bang tonight for the first time and got the Rocky Road Hot Fudge Magic Cone. At first it was great with the textures of the nuts, the marshmallow and brownie pieces, but after I ate through the top part, the ice cream itself didn’t have much flavor and the chocolate cone was just okay. A disappointment and not worth the calories, I’ll put it that way, and I didn’t finish it. Not what I Iike to do with a $7.50 ice cream treat. My partner did enjoy his chocolate dipped cone. I will try something else next time I visit.

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. This 12oz milkshake was $7.25!!! The Salt and Straw at this restaurant sucks. I couldve gone to Sharis or Dennys and got a 16oz milkshake for HALF the price. All they did was take a scoop of ice cream and drop it in their blender and voila a milkshake. Dont waste your time or money here. Youre more or less paying for their fancy brand name.

After devouring some salty treats nearby, get your sweet-tooth fix here and leave satisfied for sure! Both the traditionalist as well as the adventurous spirits will be happy as long as you’re not worried about calorie count. WizBangBar is a great addition to the Salt&Straw tradition of delivering what you want in an unexpected way, so order up, try something new and leave stuffed with a smile.

Overpriced for the sheeple. I wanted a concrete (just ice cream mixed with toppings) which I was told only comes in a cup, so I asked to have a chocolate cone on top of the cup. They told me that is not possible with a chocolate cone...so I had to order a rocky road cone without the marshmallow fluff and replace it with Oreo. It was good, but ridiculous. For the price I’d go elsewhere. The line was twenty minutes long out onto the sidewalk and around the corner.

Ive visited Salt & Straw quite a few times and heard of Wiz Bang. Decided to check it out knowing it was soft serve. The flavors were pretty tasty by themselves. Its basically a better salt n straw in my opinion with unique options that you cant find at their other locations. Keep in mind this is basically a sister company to salt n straw they arent entirely different franchises theyre very similar. My biggest complaint is the price for a pint of ice cream. I can get a tub of tillamook ice cream for less then half the price and have twice as much ice cream compared to a pint from salt n straw. Overall their flavors are robust and never feel cliche, they actually try to make all their flavors feel more premium.

The Wiz Bang bar is in the pine street market, which can be busy on the weekends, and has lots of places to eat and drink. We just went to the Wiz Bang for ice cream. They didnt have many flavors (3 or 4), which is why I didnt give 5 stars. They had some interesting flavors and options to dip their soft serve cones. I liked my cone, but could see the potential to get a weird combo of ice cream, dip flavor and toppings.

We waited exactly 52 minutes in line got this soft serve ice cream place, which by the way is owned by Salt & Straw. We were lucky because there were some really funny people in line with us that kept us entertained. But almost an hour for soft serve? I mean we had invested too much time standing in line to just give us. As we approached the entrance door the smell of fresh waffle cones made me more excited. At last in was our turn! I decided to go with the vegan option which was a blackberry coconut soft serve and I decided to have the lavender lemon sauce drizzled on top. Seconds later the sauce turned solid on top of my soft serve and created a hard shell. Very cool.Moment of truth *drum rolls* here is what I think, the soft serve was great. Bold fresh flavors. The lavender lemon sauce was very lemony. I missed the whole lavender part of it. But it was delicious regardless. But I would never stand an hour in line for this. Especially in a city like Portland where every corner you turn there’s something delicious and yummy to have as dessert. But overall great ice creams.

I care too much about Wiz Bang Bar, Salt&Straw ice cream, and basic human decency to sit back silently and allow Joe St. Peter to besmirch the name of an outstanding company, all in order to pass himself off as something greater than a buffoon of the highest order. What kind of sick, depraved man would sink so low as to submarine a company all to try and incorrectly portray himself as a man of competence who knows how to eat an ice cream cone?Look, I know Joe. For the most part, I like Joe. Im telling you from the horses mouth that theres a zero percent chance that cone was served to him without a bottom. He absolutely bit the cone, like an impish barbarian without so much as a basic grasp of the consequences, and then sat there in a hell of his own creation as ice cream poured out the bottom of the cone that he bit. At the moment, I hoped Joe would perhaps realized that actions do indeed have consequences, but alas weve found ourselves in a position where hes trying to pass the blame onto anyone and anyone other than the man responsible. We, as a people, deserve better than to believe these lies that are being fed to us, lies that messily drip out of the bottom of a cone (in this metaphor the cone is also made of lies), bitten off by the teeth of a lying snake of a man. Do not be deceived, Portland. The cones at the Salt&Straw outpost located at Wiz Bang are always structurally intact. I wish I could say the same about the integrity of one Joe St. Peter.Ice cream was great. 5-stars. Would go again.

Bizarre, crowded place with nowhere to sit. We went in because we saw they had salt n straw ice cream. It was very good!Unfortunately they did not offer real coke so I wound up with some kind of bizarre artisan coke that tasted horrific. (You can taste test the ice cream but not the soda because its in glass bottles.)When the nice lady at the counter saw my face though, she let me swap the float out for a yummy ice cream. Very happy that happened!Across the way, in the same building was a restaurant that offered real coke in glass bottles. I bought that and it was yummy too.Would we go back? Maybe so! I saw a cute noodle bar so Id like to try the ramen!Edit: we went back and salt n straw now offers real coke in a glass bottle! Excellent!

I love the concept but the only flavor I enjoy is the vegan coconut raspberry. The other flavors are very rich and custardy but dont have enough flavorful chunks. I think its just from being soft serve. Also the hard shell is just okay. But I see a great future for this concept. I do wish they offered one more vegan flavor and rotated flavors as often as the regular salt and straw. Also the doorway is too close to the stand so a lot of times the line spills over into the sidewalk, I guess thats normal for salt and straw though.

Although it has a wonderful strawberry flavor, it was not as stellar; almost felt like something was missing.
