I went in yesterday with my partner for herbs. I was treated very well, employees acknowledged me and asked if I was finding everything I needed and are very knowledgeable about their products. I highly recommend

This place is wonderful and the owner and employees are very helpful. They have a large selection of Chinese raw herbs and bulk herbs as well as herbs in various pill form, patches and creams. There’s a few needles and cups for sale if you need supplies on the fly. There is frequently an herbalist doctor there. They take appointments and even take walk-ins. Sometimes there’s a language barrier but the owner speaks English well and acts as a translator. There’s no acupuncture available though and the doctors hours are limited, so call first. Wing Ming is definitely my favorite Chinese Medicine Market in Portland. If you feel you need powdered herbs, check out ITM on Hawthorne.

I never knew this was here until the owner of Clary Sage Herbs didnt have what I needed and suggested that I look for it at Wing Ming. It wasnt her fault, I was asking for dried chestnut flowers, and thats obscure no matter who you ask.Wing Mings doesnt have the dried chestnut flowers either, but they did have steamed chestnuts in a snack package! The owner was very nice. The ability to speak Chinese would be useful, but I managed since they speak some English.That will speed up getting my chestnut soup recipe done, because now all I have to do is wait until I can collect the flowers, I dont have to wait all the way to Fall to get the chestnuts too.I sampled the steamed chestnuts, but I think its the onions and candied bacon that are going to really make the soup work.I didnt have a lot of time to look around, but this little store hiding in a little parking lot off the main street is full of interesting things! I will be back to explore.Please note that the store is around the side of the building, and the door is not visible from the street. When your GPS tells you to turn into that little looks like nothing much driveway, thats not a mistake, do it.

Great place to get hard to find Chinese medicine.

I went to see a chinese medicine doctor here. To get some herbs for the many medical problems I have going on. I really liked Dr Mao and trust that he is good as I have a friend who has been helped by him. The store is packed with teas, herbs in different forms, dishes and cookware, food items, supplements just to many things to name. I have gone to Wing Mins for many years off and on and will continue to go as they are very reputable. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Thank you Wing Mings for being there for the community.

We go here often to buy various pain relief patches for ache and pains. They have all sorts of Chinese herbs, essences, and remedies! They always very friendly and helpful! Great service!

Wonderful, welcoming, friendly staff and fair prices on a huge selection of goods. Staff were kind enough to explain some minor differences in formulations to me, which I really appreciated.

They had all the products I wanted, everyone was social distancing, and they had clear vinyl hanging in front of the entire chashier counter. Wonderful!

Great little Asian medicinary tucked away off of SE 82nd. Prepared herb and loose herbs available. Herbalist available on site (maybe by appointment?). Great place to get your Asian medicine.

The scent of this place warms my heart- there is nothing like an apothecary for me! As an acupuncturist I love this place!! If I werent (Im not sure how), but I would love them more. The staff knows their herb stock and is super friendly and helpful with choosing what is needed. For most Americans who do not know wind heat from wind cold choosing herbs can be so tricky, but these guys have you covered!! Thank you!

Went with heavy cold symptoms and was examined and questioned thoroughly by the practicioner and then given a prescription of herbs and very detailed instructions. Two ladies behind the counter carefully put all of the ingredients together and sent me on my way. The cost was minimal and the results were unbelievably good! I will be returning and highly recommending them to anyone!

Very good traditional Chinese herb store...difficult to find from the street first time as the storefront is behind the building. Excellent service, store clerk turned out to be Dr Peichang Mao, trained in traditional herbal medicine and acupuncture in China...seem to have at least 6-8 herbalists working all the time. Examined my tongue and pulse, $5, and prescribed 3 large bags of 13 herbs... various wood barks and shavings, dried herbs, seeds, and fungus...prepared by the pharmacists there...$43, and gave me detailed instructions how to prepare the decoction...awful to drink but full of energy!

The others are good. BUT An old guy looking like a doctor is always blocking the way hunting for victims. He would first say that you have a lot of problems then sell experience medicine to you! How can they allow such cheating behavior happening inside!

Chinese herbs and such to stay healthy.

Ive been using Chinese medicines for thirty years to treat allergy symptoms and occasional low back pain. My acupuncturist in Los Altos, CA used to make them up for me, but thats not done much anymore. When I moved to Portland eleven years ago, I was very happy to find this place, they have a great selection of herbs to choose from. Their prices arent the cheapest but compared to western pharmaceuticals Chinese herbs are a bargain.

It helps if you know what you are looking for. Staff is very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for practitioners of TCM. Best prices Ive seen since leaving China. (A bottle of Yin Chiao is around $3 at Wing Ming, and the same bottle would be priced around $30 at Whole Foods or New Seasons!)

Super friendly staff, and beyond the professional herbs with an herbalist writing a prescription for you, they also had a lot of packaged medicinal stuff too. Highly recommend these folks!

If youre Black, the staff here will follow you around the store, pretending to straighten up a pile of something near by. I purchased some mugwort, shortie couldnt even look at me as I paid. Gave a thanks under her breath, it pained her to do so. Shameful, but you know how that ish goes. Swerve this spot.
